This talented musical family beautifully interprets the "son oriental", like no other group, with great feeling and rhythm guaranteed to please the most demanding audiences. Familia Valera Miranda is not only continuing the internationally popular style of the late Lorenzo Hierrezuelo and his "Duo Los Compadres", but actually improve it, adding some of their own,"homemade" composed music. Old Hierrezuelo classics such as "Chicharrones", "Sin Anduyo", "El Vendedor de Agua", "Macusa", "Descripcion de Un Suen~o",etc.are renewed with a traditional yet updated style. Also Beny More's 1958 classic "Que Bueno Baila Ud", is transformed for the first time ever, into an inviting "son-oriental", which is absolutely delightful. Valera Miranda's "homemade" Abur!Paisano" and "Vida Parrandera" show the high quality and creative capability of this amazing musical family featuring Felix, Carmen Rosa, Rhadames and the boys. 1. Jobim is supposed to have lived in California for a couple years in the middle 60's, 3 LP's are supposed to have come out of this time period.
   
   They contain some of my favorite instrumentals and vocals by Jobim.
   
   A Felicidade absolutely knocks me out every time I hear it, I never tire after repeated listening.
   
   Truly, the songs Zingaro, Favela, Surfboard, Samba Do Aviao, Aqua De Beber, Outra Vez, So Tinha Der Ser Com Voce... well, swing.
   
   This box set is faithful to the original Warner Bros. LP's, all the original liner notes, artwork, and order of the songs are here, along with some new liner notes to bring everything up to date.
   
   Buying and listening to The Prime Of Antonio Carlos Jobim is like walking to the beach, finding a place to sit down and pushing your toes in the sand.
   
   I love the picture of Jobim on the front cover in a green short sleeve shirt, long hair and big moustache.
   
   He resembles a Science Teacher!
   
   In a way, I guess he is, he sure knows how to stew up some serious chemicals.
   
   The songs will tug on your heart strings and fill you with great longing.
   
   Guaranteed.

1. I loved every song on this cd! Every song is energetic, fun, and soothing all at the same time. It's a must for anyone who loves latin music. It'll definitely get you on your feet, dancing in no time!



2. Hot selection of Salsa dance tracks.
   This UK label has great salsa compilations.
   I plan to get every salsa title on Nascente and the defunct UK Charly that I can find.
   The UK CD Mastering and pressing of Nascente's CDs is superb.The sound quality is audiophile .Compare the sound to any USA Fania CD and you will be amazed.

1. I bought this CD for two reasons: Lucha Villa and the song "Nunca, nunca, Nunca". I was not disappointed. Lucha is from the era of truly original Mexican songstresses.
