1. This is a repackaging of two classic (and hard to find) earlier "albums" by Flora and Airto: 1986's "The Magicians" and 1989's "The Sun Is Out." Both of these titles are excellent, especially as a "twofer" deal.

Would consider Flora Purim a hypnotic vocalist...who like Ella and Sarah have that individual style...her unique approach to a song aluminates in a class by herself...this 2-CD-release is a milestone of adventureous times for Flora and her husband, percussionist Airto Moreria...earthy arrangements by Marcos Silva are haunting and wistful with blends of dreamscape...remember her "Butterfly Dreams", "500 Miles High" and "Encounter" recordings from the '70s...Concord once again offers a must have for the true collector...has classic "Latin jazz" written all over it!

1. This cd jumped out at me as i was browsing thru a cd store the other day....i love it! Pure and true latin jazz..the rhythm, melodies and harmonies, dance beats and quality of music all combine to make this cd truly enjoyable. Its personalised by the shouts and speaking of the performers between and within tracks, making it all the more enjoyable! Highly Reccomended to everyone!

1. I have reviewed each of these CDs individually, but for the real Piazzolla fan here is a chance to get all three in a box set slightly cheaper than by buying them one at a time. Despite the fact that many of the songs in this group are mere snippets of potentially great songs, there is enough "meat" to warrant purchase of the box. Among the best are the rhythmic El Infierno Tan Temido in its various incarnations, the bandoneon workout on Tangueria, A Intrusa Pt. 1 and 2, and Celos pt. 1 and 2. My favorites are on the Armaguedon CD. Panique au Theatre is a real winner and the vocals on Chanson Pour un Homme Triste are mesmerizing. There isn't much that Piazzolla did that doesn't deserve the highest praise and that includes the priceless tunes offered here. Only the brevity of much of the work takes away from what would otherwise be a five-star effort.
