1. This 3 CD Box Set released in 1998 from Selena is a true classic! It includes dance remixes, unreleased songs,and some current songs that have already been issued. I remember purchasing this album back in 1998 when it was released. I had to wait in line for it, but it was worth the wait for it.



2. An anthology is a collection of EVERYTHING an artist wrote or sang, etc., right? When I bought this, I listened to every song, and picked the ones that I liked and skipped the others. I bought this in tapes, because I don't think they had CD's yet. Some of the songs were okay, some were really good. However, I didn't realize that this "Anthology" didn't have EVERYTHING she ever did in it. I found this out when more and more of her CDs became available in my city, and I started reading the list of songs on the backs and hardly anything on the Anthology was on her other CDs. My disappointment is, that all the other anthologies I have of other artists have everything the group or person did. This one seemed to me like it was just some studio fillers combined with a handful of some songs that actually made the airwaves in Texas. Since I don't live in Texas, I wouldn't of known, until I started my collection of Selena music. This is where I started thinking her father is somewhat of a [...] artist. I have six of her CDs now, and there is hardly any of those songs from the Anthology on any of them. That is my disappointment in this Anthology. Other than that, it does give a listener a chance to hear her sing songs that were probably done for fun. I'm not disappointed in that aspect of it, because it is her singing, after all, that I'm listening to. And there are one or two songs whose versions I like better on the Anthology than the versions that are on the other CDs I own. Just thought Mr. Quintanilla should know that if it isn't a complete anthology, it shouldn't be called an anthology, in my opinion. He could of thought of something else, but I'm sure that misleading name made the Q Productions lots of money in the end.



3. I saw the movie and loved it then i could not get enough of her music it is fantastic and also i named my daughter after her because i love the name and her music and i would recomend it to anyone.

4. Though, I didn't start listening to the beautiful, soulful, talented and incomparable Selena until after she died as a result of the bullet from the gun of Yolanda Saldivar, she will always be alive in my heart.
   
   This 3 CD collection is a great cross-section of the styles Selena added plenty of sabor (flavor) to. These are just a few of her many hits....I don't think three CDs is nearly enough room to capture all of the beautiful melodies she recorded and interpreted for us, her loving audience. Here, we have Pop, Mariachi and Techno Cumbia (a very popular genre in Tex Mex and Mexicana music).
   
   Though, I am not a huge fan of techno, Selena made me want to listen to it anyway. The first CD is filled with pop songs that could definitely carry you over to the dance floor. The best songs on this album are "La Bamba" and "Yo Fui Aquella." This is because they best capture the lively energy Selena added to both old pop hits ("La Bamba") and original ranchera ("Yo Fui Aquella"). The other songs also have this energy, but in my opinion these two are outstanding tunes.
   
   The Mariachi album, on the other hand, feels like the heartbeat of the Mexican musical experience and is a great introduction for people new to this genre and a real treasure for those who have loved these songs for generations (as well as the new material written especially for Selena). What amazes me the most is Selena's versatility--even at a young age--to capture the emotions and tone of these songs even at the tender age of fourteen. This is especially apparent in the songs "Raima Caida" and "Quiero Estar Contigo."
   
   The third and final album is filled with totally fun techno cumbia tunes that will get your feet moving even if you have never danced to this type of music before. My favorite songs (which are also filled with fun lyrics--for all of you Spanish speakers) are "Salta La Ranita" and "Baila Esta Cumbia."
   
   Enjoy this album! Keep the spirit of Selena alive.



5. Selena will forever live on through her music, and this boxed set of her best shows why. More than just a tribute to the slain star who was so cruelly taken from us, it's a salute to the talent of her band. A.B. Quintanilla's musical genius is evident as well as Suzette's fabulous drumming and Chris Perez's signature guitar on these tracks. A must have for Selena fans, and even those who don't understand Spanish will enjoy dancing along! Muy bueno!

1. Que Buena Edicion, Ademas de tener los videosclips de las canciones tiene unas rolas en distintas versiones, es un disco que recomiendo a todo aquel que le gusta la buena calidad y que le gusta los accesorios de coleccion.

1. Those who enjoy the music of Silvio Rodriguez will love Spanish "cantautor" Luis Eduardo Aute. In Autorretratos (Vols. 1 and 2) Aute presents us with the cream of the cream of his musical crop. There's simply not a bland song in here. "Belleza", "Cada Vez Que Me Amas" and "Dos o Tres Segundos de Ternura" are just some of the best ones. If you can understand Spanish you're bound to enjoy it twice as much, but even if you don't, you will still be floored with his beautiful music. If you enjoy this one and Silvio Rodriguez, then make sure you pick up "Mano a Mano" a live duet by the two where they sing in tandem each other's music. Too bad all this music is now mostly out of print or imported, resulting in ridiculous prices, but if you can get them at a decent price, make sure you pick up your copy.
