1. its an awesome cd i recomend this to ne1 who is a real punk. not a goood charolette poppy poser. only reason i gave this 1 star is because theres no Mifits the greatest punk rock band of all time~! other great bands like sex pistols and the damned

   sham 69s 'if the kids'. embarrasingly shows modern punk as
   overly polished and amputated.



3. This album makes you understand what the 70's and early 80's punk movement meant. It has a lot of good bands and it's one good way to know many bands of the golden punk age. If you buy it, you'll not regret it.



4. I dunno, maybe its just me, but to even compare NOFX to the legendary bands on these albums is just a shame. NOFX wouldnt even exist if it werent for bands like these.



5. I came across this disc on Amazon by accident, after searching for an old CD by Sham 69. I saw the impressive track list by these early punk bands(mostly early brit-punk bands) and I had to have it. I got a part-time job at a record store when I was fifteen, and the first day I started, someone tossed on 999's 'Seperates' album, and my musical world was never the same. This collection brings me back that time in music when punk was a vital part of the music scene, and signaled a change in the air. Some of the best punk bands of the era are here...The Sex Pistols, The Damned, 999, Sham 69, Stiff Little Fingers, etc.

   Sure, the track chioces are a bit off at times, and some of the bands have three or four songs, instead of some different tracks by some of the other punk greats that are missing here (The Clash, The Ramones, etc.). But on the other hand, there are some rare gems and alternate versions here (Pistols alternate version of 'Anarchy in the UK', an acoustic version of 'Silent Night' by the Only Ones, etc.). So, overall, this is a steal for 6 discs of great classic punk.

   No, there's no modern punk bands here, like Rancid, Pennywise, Bad Religion, etc. But this collection will give you a good idea about where they drew their influences from.

   Punk is not dead!

1. i really enjoyed this compilation, almost all female vocalists and its nice to hear different obscure singers and bands. on the first cd, i am in love with prolapse's "chill blown" and nina simone's "my baby just cares for me" is quite lovely. on the second cd, i'm really diggin brix e. smith's "oringina" and rita lynch's "call me your girlfriend" is by far the sexiest lesbian love song ever! on the third cd, "teenile dementia" by the morgan is real wild to listen to and "strange fruit" by billy holiday is a pure classic. all in love, delicious and wonderful compilation!

For those not familiar with this collection, disc 1 contains LAMF Revisited, disc 2 is Live at the Lyceum, and the first 10 tracks on disc 3 is the DTK Live at the Speakeasy album, while the rest of the disc is the Live and Wasted unplugged album. It's a nice collection if you don't have these albums/recordings in other collections, but if you do, then it might be a waste of money.

   Are you a Costello completist? If you are, there's no doubt you'll buy this 12-disc box set!

   The 28-tracks included here (disc 2 also contains an "uncredited" alternate version of "Alison") are basically taken from EC's first 12 singles, each in a replica picture sleeve (including disc 11 with the inside-out jacket of "Accidents Will Happen", which also contains 2 tracks that made up disc 9, the giveaway single for some attendees of the Dominion Theatre concerts of 1978).

   This little "chest" includes a 12-page booklet that gives a track-by-track history of each of the singles.

   An obvious attempt at "cashing in" by the record company, this box (the first of 3) covers the 1977/03 to 1980/01 era of EC's singles, but the whole thing would have fitted on a single CD.

   For completists only, since almost all tracks are available on some compilations or remastered re-issues.

   You'll have to decide whether the 4 tracks making their first appearance on CD are worth the price tag ?!?

1. Poison Girls was very likely the best punk band of their times; innovative, angry, filled with energy. and Vi Subversa was the perfect front lady; more beautiful than Madonna!! This is an excellent collection of an excellent band.



2. Poison Girls, an early Crass era, political peace-punk band, releases a collection of past greats. From the politically diverse lyrics, to the enchanting, as well as, beautifully sung melodies, you'll find most of their best on this cd. The songs vary from type, ranging from love songs like "Promenade Immortelle" & "Tender Love" to the sheer political madness of songs like "Price of Grain & the Price of Blood" to the crass favorite "Dirty Work" Anyone who likes anything creative and brilliant, should definately buy this and put it in their, "i'll keep this cd in my 'Until I die'" section. Another great, "Real Woman" is just as uplifting.

1. i have the clash on broadway, which is awesome, but it has a few "edited versions", why? i dunno, somebody needs a smack. anyway if you are like me and trying to get your albums/tapes on cds while also buying all the great new stuff that's out there, it can get pretty *^%&()* expensive and let me tell you, this is CHEAP! it also comes with 3 little booklets, london calling and combat rock have all the lyrics in case you don't already know them, and if you don't wtf are you doing even looking @ this, go buy blink 182 or something. that's right. :P
