- Just an awesome compilation. A must have for any Donald Lawrence fan.
- Honestly, I have been a Kirk Franklin and Kurt Carr fan. I actually won the Finale Act I at a church function. After listening to it, I wish I would of picked up some of Donald Lawrence's music before. I went out and bought Finale Act 2! Everytime I listen to it in my car, I have a praise break! This is an awesome cd, I would recommend to anyone who even considers buying the cd.
- I am unable to get to gospel concerts. This one makes me feel like I am there. I am truly blessed to have been introduced to this cd.
- Excellent CD the DVD is an extra special bonus. Very uplifting.
If you purchase Finale Act I, you have to have Finale Act II.
highly recommend it.

2 comments about Emmanuel.
- This album is one of my favorites of all my gospel cds (over 100). I've never heard "Silent Night" as beautiful and moving as this rendition. Emmanuel (not just a Christmas song), Joy to the World, and In Excelsis Deo (this song seems to be missing from Amazon's track list) are my favorites, but the entire album is great. I highly recommend this album.
- This is a MAGNIFICENT piece to add to your gospel Christmas music collection. Norman Hutchins' rendition of the title song is MOST EXCELLENT! Also very enjoyable are the very spirited versions of Go Tell It on the Mountain (led by Chester Baldwin), Joy to the World and He Has Come on this album. What more can I say? This a great album with a sampler at the end in case you'd like to hear similar gospel artists. A must have for any true collector of Christian Christmas music.

- This is a great cd! I had it before and played it so much, I wore it out! I am so grateful I was able to find another copy! Thanks, Amazon.com!
- This CD GMWA, Women of Worship "It's Our Time", is one of the best CDs for Gospel music. It's so vibrant and alive, the tracks on here is a great pick me up and the words to each song are so true. If you know the words sing-a-long!
Before I purchased the CD I had heard a couple of tracks so I knew it was something I would enjoy. I recommend this music for it's definitely "Our Time".
- women of worship has always been one of my favorite choirs and the really do an excellent job on ORDER MY STEPS keep up the great work for christ.
- I was interested in this CD because Order My Steps was my Grandmother's favorite song. After listening to the stirring rendition I understand why she loved the song so much. I would recommend the CD for that song alone but the other offerings are equally impressive. You won't be disappointed.
- I searched for and ordered this album because it had "Order my Steps" on it (twice in fact), my late father's favorite song. I was not disappointed. In fact, not only is it the best rendition of that song I have heard, but the CD features a wonderful collection of up-tempo, mid-tempo, and slow-tempo gospel music. I was particularly impressed with the soloists for each song. They are all different (the soloists) and are faultless singers with powerfully wonderful voices. There is not one song on the CD that I don't like (you don't know me, but I am quite picky and have a long history of enjoying gospel music as my preferred form of praise--I even play and sing a little). I recommend this CD to anyone seeking excellent gospel music in which you can understand and appreciate every single word. It will make your feet tap, your ears smile, and fill your heart with praise.

- This Luther Barnes sharing his testimony with others and I have enjoyed him willing to share his testimony with others. The songs that I enjoyed were only two but others may enjoy more. If you enjoyed him in the past CD you will enjoy this one also.
- Typcial Luther Barnes sound. The CD has a nice flow. "Somehow, Someway" and "We Lift Your Name Forever" are my two choices on this CD. If you are a Luther Barnes fan, this CD is well worth the buy.

- THIS CD IS AWESOME. I LOVE MOST OF THE SONGS. ITS GETS WEAK TO THE END OF THE CD BUT THE REST IS AWESOME. "JOY OF THE LORD" IS THE BEST SONG ON THIS CD. IF YOU DONT HAVE THIS CD YOU NEED TO GET. THIS WILL BLESS YOUR SOUL. DEITRICK HADDON IS ONE OF THE GREAT GOSPEL SINGER. I LOVE THIS CD.
- I dont care what anyone says, this cd is wonderful! We are all sinners whether we're saved or not and the song "sinners prayer" really touched my soul. I love just about every song on this cd and it brings me joy every day on the way to work when I'm feeling down. Props to Deitrick Haddon, this is the best cd I've ever heard in my life!!! And for whoever made that comment, the song De De talks about his life and how he came to singing gospel and still glorifies God saying "Now I'm doing it in Jesus' name", "Spread the love of Jesus Christ and watch his power change peoples lives" and many other things in the song. This cd is empowering, uplifting, and I recommend this song to any and every one I know.
- Deidrick may have a very nice style and some good lyrics, but the song DeDe is very distracting from the Word. The fact that he sings a song about him self on a "gospel" CD and that he has his picture on the front and back of the case is self promoting. If the CD were truly about the Lord and his Word, one would think that he would not promote himself. To me, that one song taints the album making this neither completely a gosped CD, yet it's still not a secular CD--it's something like lukewarm. Just my opinion.
- I had purchased Deitrick Haddon's most recent CD Crossroads and loved it. I was surprised to find out that he has been out for quite a few years and have many previously released CD's since I have been buying Gospel Music for years. I loved his latest CD and was not disappointed at all with this CD. I am definitely going to purchase a few more of his CD's to add to my collection.
- I thought this c.d. was good and it spoke the truth. And it got our youth wanting more. Love Different Type Genre person doesn't know what he is talking about. God does hear a sinners prayer if he is asking for forgiveness and accepting Jesus into their life. Saints were not always saints. We were once sinners who repented for our sins and gave our lives to Christ. If you would know more about God/Christ/Holy Spirit and living as a "saint", I would advise you to read the word for yourself. It's the best way to learn.

5 comments about Letting Go.
- Anthony Evans has put together one of the very best Christian releases I have ever listened to. A perfect blend of melody, lyrics, and God-centered attitude is found on each track - truly a release that is difficult to choose a favorite among, since all the songs are so good. This is one of the few CDs I have (and I have almost 3,000) that can be listened to from start to finish without skipping a track. What is most delightful, however, is the personal identification I feel with what Anthony is saying about his faith - if you have "put off the old man" and are a new creature in Jesus Christ, there is no way that every song on this release will not resonate deeply within you.
A few comments on the other reviews posted of "Letting Go" - I agree completely wtih the reviewer who pointed out that there is a difference between Evan's "Even More" and "Letting Go" - in my eyes, there is hardly any similarity at all and it is hard for me to think that both releases are actually done by the same artist, the gulf is so great. Additionally, as with another reviewer, I too have witnessed the unique multi-generational appeal "Letting Go" has: I grew up with Motown, Beach Boys and Beatles, but my 15 year-old granddaughter loves every song on "Letting Go" as much as I do - quite a feat in today's times!
To sum up, "Letting Go" is nothing short of inspired - an amazing collection of songs that accurately describes the Christian experience with great understanding and compassion, and keeps a steady focus on where it should always be - Almighty God.
- The first song I heard of AE was Be Still, and I didn't know who he was at the time, but I loved the song, then my brother started playing the same song and told me who he was and started playing more songs from his new cd and I immediately went to this website to purchase BOTH cd's. One of the things I love about his second cd is his lyrics!! They are AMAZING!! They portray the Lord and our relationship with Him accurately and biblically-very rare in Gospel and Christian music! I haven't heard his first cd yet(hasn't come in yet), but I do agree that it does have more of a CCM feel which is cool with me. I definitely wanted more of the "Be Still" kind of feel, but I love this cd! I haven't stopped playing it since I got it! His voice is AMAZING!! Excellent job, Anthony! Keep'em comin'! The world needs more artists painting accurate pictures of our Dad!
- I am a -- year old mom and grandmom. I prefer to listen to Christian music, but my taste ranges from Southern Gospel to contemporary. Was looking for some good worship music and stumbled across Anthony Evans' music at his father, Tony Evans', website. Just hearing a short excerpt of one song from his first CD, I liked it enough to buy both CD's. This one is different from the first, more upbeat and diverse, but I love them both. I thought so much of Letting Go that I bought one for my twenty-something son, who also thought it was great. You will not be disappointed!
- Let me just put it like this. I do agree with the other users that this album is much different from the first one. What I will say is that he(Anthony Evans) seems more comfortable with this style of music. Long have I been waiting for an artist who dares to be different for Christ without compromising the message. My favorite track is "Consumed," the boy gets down on this album in a unique way. If your tastes are not opened up to different styles of gospel music, then this may not be the CD for you at this point. To everyone else who has an open mind, go get this CD. My only regret is that it only has 10 tracks, but I would rather there be ten great tracks then a bunch of filler songs. This is AE's best album yet.
- I just got this CD a day ago and I am so in Love with it. I love almost every song. I just play this ablum straight through, for the most part. My fav. tracks are I Choose Now, Letting Go, Before You, Consumed, Meaningless, Love You With My Life, Whatever I Can't Erase, The Fight. Anthony Evans is a great writer and he composes lyrics so well. This album is annointed and you can just feel his passion for the Lord in every song. I can honestly say that I can relate to every song on his album. Anthony if you are reading this keep allowing the Lord to use you the way he wants to, this album truely touched me.

- Aaron Neville is one of only two singers whose voice can change my mood - the other is Eva Cassidy. Listening to this CD put me in heaven! I especially liked I Believe, Going Home, Ave Maria, and Amazing Grace.
Another must have CD!
- I just got this today & I cant believe that AN sings gospel songs so beautifully. "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus" that song got me buying this gem of a CD. "Steer me right" is great. "Oh happy day' reminds of Sister Act2 remember that young boy in the choir?& AN gives this song a new feel to it. Remember Sam Cook for a long time ago on " A change is gonna come" what a beautiful sad song. " Amazing Grace" has that different AN voice Oh! man what a cd. Actually all songs are great. I noticed a 1 star by one of the reviewers & my feeling is that people who do not appreciate music must not put bad reviews unnecessarilly as it misleads other potential buyers into thinking that a cd is bad whereas its not the case. This is the best cd for me so far
- I am 16 years old and I dont care much for gospel music, because it usually has no musical depth. But Aaron Neville is absolutely superb! He has golden vocal chords and shades of Al Green and Kieth Green can be found in Aaron's voice. If you are looking for some awesome gospel music Aaron Neville's Believe is the place to find it!!! Peace to one and all !!!
Aaron Mcknight-music fanatic
- I played this album several times, and I can only spot 2 tracks worth listening to:steer me right and I saw the light. The only good thing on this cd is its remarkable recording (HDCD)
Warm your heart is a much better album.No....this one is better of in a garbish bin...So long Aaron.
- Aaron Neville has recorded many fine albums down through the years, but this is the cream of the crop. If I had to choose just one Aaron Neville album to keep it would have to be this one. Impeccable, flawless, and oozing class. But then again, since there's no need to have just one Aaron Neville album, I would very highly recommend this cd for anyone who wants to hear a legendary vocalist exhibit his unique talent.

- The 'Heart of a Champion' is an EXCELLENT cd for anyone needing to hear just what God is all about and how He can positively affect our lives.
- I'm listening to this very CD right now and it is great! My favorite songs are, heart of a champion,Jesus period,a witch's invitation, who's in the house,Jericho, now's the time, mission 3:16,America again,I've been delivered,Satan, bite the dust!,r.i.o.t,addicted to Jesus, ther is a God,sunday school rock,no monsters, and the champion.I would recommend this CD over any other Carman CD.(If you bought this you would not have to buy any other Carman CD because this CD has songs from almost all of his CDs)Thanks for reading this!
- After checking out this cd from the public library, I could not wait to buy it. My favorite songs are: "Heart of a Champion"--for the uplifting lirics; "My story"-- for the "hawaian-like rithm. I am not embarrased to admit that when I heard this song I just got up and danced for about an hour. The song that touched my heart was "I promise"--A wonderful song to play at a wedding. Honestly, I liked most of the songs. I f you don't have the cd, just get it. You will not be disapointed.
- Carman has a passion for Jesus and his desire to evangelize through his music is wonderful. God has gifted him with a beautiful voice and a great talent for writing awesome lyrics and he is using it for the glory of God.
Songs from several of his earlier albums, which I do not own, are included on this double CD. His skit on "A Witch's Invitation' is thought provoking and great to know that 'greater is the One that is in us then the one that is in the world'. I also found his new song "We Need God in America Again" to be so true and profound,. America has moved away from the gospel of Jesus Christ to a 'higher power' whatever that power may be and this is so sad that millions of people are not hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ on which the constitution was based. Who will be answerable for these lost souls? Definitely not the ones that have listened to this song and taken it to heart! I have several albums by Carman, including "Passion for Praise", "I Surrender All", "The Absolute Best", "The Standard" and "Revival in the Land". Heart of a Champion is a great addition to my collection and I would recommend this album to anyone wanting to listen to something different and uplifting.
- Carman has been in the music business for decades already, so he has a lot of songs to offer in his various "Best of" albums. And this one is no different. With 90s classics like "A Witch's Invitation," "Satan, Bite the Dust," "Sunday School Rock," and "No Monsters," this album will remind you of just why you like listening to Carman in the first place. And for those of you who aren't yet Carman fans, this album will give you a glimpse of the many various song styles that he is so well known for.
Out of the 30 songs on this album, six of them are new, including "Heart of a Champion," which was the title soundtrack to Carman's 2000 movie "Champion." Though the title song is the best of the new songs, it doesn't come close to comparing to what Carman is best known for. The six new songs notwithstanding, this is a perfect album to add to your Carman collection, or to start a new Carman collection with.

5 comments about Signs of Life.
- I like Steven Curtis Chapman's music because they are encouraging.
- Chapman makes a break with longtime producer Phil Naish in favor of Brown Bannister (White Heart, Amy Grant) and it seems the new combo focused a LOT of attention on making his musical backing more layered and interesting. Chapman himself also steps up to the plate a lot more, handling all the backing vocals, doing some electric picking for a change, and adding lots of "exotic" instrumentation personally (dobros, slides, mandolin, lap steel).
Lyrically, he takes some chances as well, using some unusual metaphors to get across his message (the alien theme in the title track, race cars for "Rubber Meets the Road",dancing for our life in general in "Lord of the Dance") that make this some of his most original writing yet. It landed 4 top 10 Christian radio hits: "Lord of the Dance" (#2),"Signs of Life" (#2),"Let Us Pray" (#5) and "Free" (#9).
HIGHLIGHTS:
"Lord of the Dance" gets things off to a great start. For the first time, Chapman's tunes feel loose and vibrant with an actual GROOVE to them musically. It's BLUEGRASS pop if you can imagine that...the fiddle and dobro play important parts in the arrangement though it's way too electric to be anywhere near NickelCreek territory. The song celebrates God's role in guiding our destinies. ("I move my feet, I go through the motions/But He gives purpose to chance/I am the dancer/He is the Lord of the dance") In contrast to another review here, the vocal scatting by Chapman lends to the vibe and the song would LOSE impact if that were just replaced by another guitar or something similar. It adds spice. The title track finds Chapman in the shoes of an alien, wondering about the significance of the lives of these Earthlings it's examining. ("Where are the signs, where are the signs of life/The love that proves there is a beating heart inside?") Shane Keister's Rhodes adds a somewhat jazzy touch to the song. Chapman takes a decent electric solo on this one. "The Walk" finds SCC sneaking a touch of acoustic blues into a nice shuffle tempo. The message (follow God with your actions not just your mouth) isn't a new one, but it's done with convincing swagger. The "do justly, love mercy/Walk humbly with your God" bridge is particularly tasty. "Let Us Pray" is probably the hookiest anthem to intercession ever. See if you don't find yourself singing "Let us pray, let us pray/Every moment of the day" after 1 or 2 hearings. "What I Would Say" is a rare introspective moment from Chapman, as he imagines how he'd have related to his late alcoholic grandfather he never got to know. ("I would say I wish I could have known you/And I would say I wish you would've stayed/But most of all I would say I forgive you") SCC uses a nice falsetto I didn't know he possessed at times here, and the strings are beautifully restrained..never manipulative (as has been the case at times on past Chapman outings). "Hold On to Jesus" harks back to Chapman's more acoustic roots and is beautiful in its simplicity.
LOWS:
"Free" isn't bad, but some changes would make it a stronger song. It takes a little too long to build. (The first and 2nd verse and chorus don't have a lot of "kick"..it doesn't really blossom until the "And if the Son has set you free, you are free indeed" bridge) and it goes on far too long at nearly 7 minutes. I would still keep the nice coda (with Chapman's phased vocal over the jazzy piano) but eliminate at least 2 minutes earlier in the tune to tighten up the song.
BOTTOM LINE:
This CD features so much of Chapman's singing, playing and writing (all but 3 completely self-penned) that it serves as a great way to decide if you like him or not. If you're just beginning to check him out, this is probably a great place to start.
- "Signs Of Life" is one of the most essential albums in Contemporary Christian music. I haven't seen SCC live, but I own many of his CDs. It is one of his best. Highly recommended.
- This is quite possibly Steven Curtis Chapman's most inspiring piece of work. The songs on this album come alive as you listen to them. I love listening to this album early in the morning. Unlike a lot of albums these days that have a great title track and a bunch of songs that are mediocre and just act as place holders, this album actually delivers. I think at most there are 1 or 2 songs that I don't enjoy or at least feel is worthy of listening too. If you want to enjoy a well-rounded inspirational album this one is for you.
- With each new release, Steven Curtis Chapman expands his ability to express passion through his music. More and more he moves beyond the soft, contemplative, predictable songs of his early career and ventures into stronger lyrics and more soulful music. He hasn't quite hit his peak yet, but the growth is really starting to show.
Edgier songs include Lord of the Dance, The Walk and Rubber Meets the Road, songs that challenge with their lyrics and motivate with their music. Some softer but equally good tunes include the moving Free and inspiring Let Us Pray. Most of the rest seem to hover in the vanilla zone, not bad but not outstanding either.
Again, if I had rated this back in 1996, I probably would have given it 5 stars. Knowing how far along Chapman has progressed, and the level of his ability that this album represents, I give it a strong four.
