1. Can't express how touched I was after listening to this CD. Double the five star rating...it's that good. The variety of songs and artists makes it a keeper. I immediately ordered the two other versions of The Real Meaning of Christmas CDs without hesitating paying for the next day delivery shipping charges. Praise God for such wonderful Christian music for The Real Meaning of Christmas!



2. I brought this CD because Fred Hammond was on it and I love anything he does and at first it was for my son who is a Fred Hammond nut he loves anything that he sings but to our good suprise there was a lot more on it than we expected. The orther artist were dynamic as well espically commissioned's song A Real Christmas it is the bomb as well I tell you you cant go wrong with this Cd for yourself or as a gift.l highly recommend it.

1. KURT CARR AND THE KURT CARR SINGERS DID AN AWESOME JOB ON THIS PROJECT. ALL OF THE SONGS AND EVERYONE THAT HAD A LEAD DID AN EXCELLENT JOB. THEY LET THE LORD USE THEM IN A MIGHTY WAY AND IT REALLY SHOWS. THIS IS THE FIRST CD THAT I HAVE BOUGHT OF HIM AND BOY WAS I IMPRESS. THIS CD IS A MUST HAVE. THE BEST SONG ON THE WHOLE CD IS FOR EVERY MOUNTAIN. THIS SONG IS AWESOME. YVETTE WILLAIMS IS AN ANOINTED SINGER. THIS SONG REALLY SHOW THAT SINGS FOR THE LORD. HER VOICE IS SOO AMAZING.

2. Kurt Carr is one of my favorite writers and producers. The only thing better than listening to their CD is going to a live concert. This project is wonderful and provides a lot of good material for choir directors and worship leaders that are looking for challenging & fun music for their groups. This is a "must buy" if you like gospel music.

1. Coko is back again, doing what she does. Many of R&B's best are going back to their roots, gospel. Coko's voice is better now than ever! Songs like Midnight give Coko the ability to show how awesome her range and runs are. You have to be VERY CAREFUL when redoing a Clark Sister song, Twinkie Clark loses her mind and is NOTHING to play with when it comes to runs and range, but I do think Coko & Co. Endow Me did justice to the original. On one part of the song all four of them have lost their minds and are screaming and doing runs all over the place, it just gives me chills. I really enjoyed her Hymm Melody, no doubt she can sang! Overall, some of the songs she could have left off, I have to skip a couple of them, they just don't do anything for me. I am a big Coko fan so I would have bought this CD either way. For someone who may not have been a fan they may only be moderately happy with this, but the good songs make up for the bad.



2. I have been a fan of Coko's since SWV. This is a good CD. She has an annointed voice, and I think that she will draw more people into a relationship with God (with her angelic voice) because music is a ministry for God. The CD has a little bit of everything upbeat gospel, traditional gospel, and contemporary gospel. She is still singing like a siren ! This CD is not just for christians or believers, anyone even a non-christian would appreciate her musical talents. The compositions are beautiful.



3. COKO HAS BRANCHED OUT INTO ANOTHER REALM OF MUSIC WHICH SUITS HER WELL. MUSIC UPBEAT WITH DIFFERENT TYPES OF ARRANGEMENTS RANGING FROM RAP TO HYMNALS. GREAT LISTENING FOR YOUR SOULS.



4. I am currently going through some emotional trials and tribulations in my life right now. I went to the Father for support by focusing on the Word of God. But in addition to this, Coko's CD has given me the inspiration I need through her lyrics to help me began the healing of my broken spirit. I highly recommend this CD and may the good Lord bless her.!

I just bought 2 copies of this cd for friends becuase i figured they wouldnt find it in stores. if u liked coko in SWV, u'll love this cd. her singing is so inspirational. she really has one of the best voices ever in music. i wasnt sure about the content as i'm not a christian music kinda guy but its so good that i can just appreciate it as great music.

1. This CD is a perfect prayer tool. I use it whenever I feel overwhelmed and need to transform my mind in order to enter a moment of praise, worship and heartfelt prayer with the Lord.



2. This was a wonderful CD performed by Richard Smallwood. I live in Atlanta and went to the concert, but to have the CD is really heart rendering, soul searching and very spiritual. I can feel the Spirt of God moving throughout this entire CD. Every song is beautiful.



3. I had this CD and listened to it until it was worn out. It will uplift, bless, and encourage you to face one more day. I especially loved Total Praise and It' Working, well, the entire project.I love how Mr. Smallwood writes with such passion and conviction in every word that's sung.



4. I have looked for this CD for the past 3 years, Richard Smallwood is phenomenal and the Song Angel has significant meaning to my wife and I.



5. Adoration has some of the most outstanding music that Richard Smallwood has ever written. I am a huge fan of his work, and I believe that this cd is one of the best. The songs that touch me the most are "Total Praise" and "Thank You." Richard keep on doing what you're doing!!!! I am 16 and I LOVE his music.

1. I have had the pleasure to know Kim & Reggie Harris in the 1990s. They are gifted musicians and story tellers and they are gifted at making you feel like a passenger on the underground railroad, the Train that remains Bound for Glory!
   
   I just love the collection of songs; you learn about the code terms for freedom as you come along for the ride. Just hop on board! This Train is Bound for Glory and it's making stops for freedom all along the way. Next stop - No More Auction Block for Me - an excellent statement against an atrocious period in history when people were sold at auction blocks on the open market. Now it's time to Follow the Drinking Gourd on the next stop. Kim has a beautiful voice and when you hear her sing "Free at Last," don't be surprised if you are very moved.
   
   Abolitionists - those opposed to slavery; Quakers opposed slavery and helped many people escape to the Promised Land outside the slave states.
   
   Conductor - people who helped lead the Underground Railroad and keep that train moving!
   
   Drinking Gourd - North Star, used by many to travel northward out of the slave states.
   
   Heaven - Code word for Canada, the desired northern stop. Canada recognized all free citizens, regardless of race. The Train that was Bound for Glory made many successful runs to Canada.
   
   Safe Houses, stops - homes that were used to shelter runaway slaves. These safe houses were stops the train made en route to freedom.
   
   Slave Catchers - self explanatory.
   
   These gifted story tellers are not only wonderful musicians, but they are also historians who bring to life a vital part of history that should never be forgotten.



2. As background music while I tell the story of the hidden symbols and meanings in my Underground Railroad Quilt, this is the best collection I have found. I was pleased with the sound quality and clarity of the words. My only complaint was the unevenness of the volume. Perhaps I can adjust the timing of my story so the lower volume sections of the music correspond with the more somber parts of the talk!

4. This is quite simply the most beautiful music I've ever heard in my life - not just one song, but the entire CD.

   Kim and Reggie Harris's voices are extraordinary, their harmonies are perfect, and their guitar work supports each song ideally. In addition, the selections are so moving that more than one of them brought me to tears.

   I don't think the samples nearly do it justice.




5. Kim & Reggie have done it again with their latest release. This extraordinary collection features a diverse collection of the "code" songs of the Underground Railroad, the brave group of African-Americans who escaped the oppression of slavery in the U.S. South and then joined Harriet Tubman, the group's "foundress," in her quest to bring others to freedom. The songs in this collection truly touch every human emotion as they convey a history that is too often forgotten in our society which is more racially divided than ever. I am struck by the confident hope expressed by songs such as "Harriet Tubman/Steal Away," "Great Day," and "Wade in the Water." The story & accompanying song "Heaven Is Less Than Fair" brings home the brutality of slavery that separated families and loved ones from each other. All the songs carry a messaage for today, especially songs like "Ain't I A Woman?" as we discover that these words of Sojourner Truth could still in some ways be spoken today. This CD is a great listen, a great gift, and a great teaching tool. Highly recommended to all.

1. This is a great CD with many wonderful songs that are familiar to me from decades ago. I was truly blessed while listening to Walter Hawkins and the Love Alive Choir sing "Going Up Yonder." It was reminiscent of my choir days of the past. Oh, how I miss them.



2. If you like old fashion gospel music, this is the cd to have. It is the type of music I was raised on. Great variety from great singers. I would recommend this cd for listeners.Gospel's Top 20 Songs of the Century



3. This is one of a couple of Gospel recordings where I enjoyed the great majority of the selections. My favorites are "Order My Steps", "Center of My Joy","Speak to My Heart", and "Going Up Yonder". The selections consider all age groups, are pleasant to the ear, and I truly felt that I received two CDs for the price of one.



4. The reason I could not give this collection 5 stars is because it's
   named Gospel's Top 20 songs of the century and omits too many artists and styles of gospel music. Where is Mahalia Jackson?
   Where are the Mighty Clouds of Joy? How about Kirk Franklin,
   Yolanda Adams, the Soul Stirers? It should only be one disc,
   the songs on disc 2. To their credit, these appear to be the original artists singing their songs.
   But it should be called "Gospel Pioners" without the number 20.

1. This CD is amazing - all the artists are wonderful. It is very worshipful and beautifully written - a great tribute to the best devotional ever written.
   I especially am touched by Gary Chapman's "A Man After Your Own Heart".
   Highly recommended for those who love worship music.



2. This is a wonderful cd. I would play it alot and it was so nice for worship time. :) You should really check it out. As far as the other cd's I don't know anything about them, but this to me is an awesome cd.



3. HI: I recently bought this CD and fell in love with it. It has wonderful soul music, and you can fall asleep with it. I also bought the other cd , the covenant, and both are very good. I wish there were more songs, but in comparison to rock and pop music, this cd has great depth to it.



4. My sister gave me this CD when I first arrived in the US for college in the fall of 1997. And I have loved it ever since.
   Each song will definitely speak to particular instances in your life.
   I highly recommend it.



5. I thoroughly enjoy listening to this CD. It allows me to enter in through praise and worship. I love all of the songs on this CD. My favorites are: "Where He Leads Me" by Twila Paris and "Shine on Us" by Phillips, Craig, and Dean.

   I listened to the CD while I was having some really hard times. It allowed me to keep my focus on God and not my problems or my circumstances.

1. This was an item my sister had been looking for for years without success.
   
   I was able to locate it thru the internet using Amazon.com and purchased a copy of Glory to His Name by Al Green, which made her very happy. As a consequence I have purchased a few more as gifts for my friends, and we have been enjoying his wonderful singing and inspiration very much.



2. The songs are great but the cd sounds as if it was recorded from an isolated distance. The sound quality is very poor.



3. I stumbled on this recording partly for the bargain price and partly for the love of Al Green's clear heavenly falsetto, the realest falsetto I've ever heard. As a white guy sixties-vintage jazz/rocker, my association with gospel came later in life, so it's not a genre I know well. I do know that listening to this CD makes me happy. And so does relistening, and relistening again often. If "Let's Stay Together" pretty much sums up the type of soul you've heard from Rev. Green, then you owe it to yourself to hear him crooning beautifully from a place even deeper down in his soul then romantic love. I can't imagine a better place to start than with this CD. Try it and get happy.
