1. I love this CD. This Cd consists of the best worships songs I know. Hungry is such a good song, it is followed by Better is One Day. This song will make you want sing and rejoice. I recommend this CD to all Christians. This is a great CD!!



2. This album is in my opinion better than the original (Wow Worship Blue). The main reason I voted this a four star is because it still encorperates many of the older songs with the new. It is still a good buy though and I would say that it is about half and half for the old and new issue. Basically, what I want to say is that this is a very good album though it would be better if they used some more of the newer material to get it around and for a new experience with the God.



3. I enjoy worshiping the Lord to these modern day worship classics. I especially like the first CD in this set, the songs "Light the Fire Again," "Rock of Ages," "We Want to See Jesus Lifted High," "In That Day," "In the Secret," and "You are God" are just awesome, catchy, melodic worship songs to the Lord. The second CD slows down the pace a little bit and most of the songs are not quite as edgy and tuneful as the songs from the first CD, but "Awesome God," "Shine Jesus Shine," and "God is Good All the Time" deliver the goods.

   If you enjoy worshiping the Lord, this is a great collection of modern day worship classics.




4. I thought this CD was the best. I really enjoyed listioning to professional intepretations to songs I have sung during the Youth Group meetings and Worship services in my church. Praise God that I have a CD to which I can sing along and glorify His name.



5. This has to be the best series of Worship music I have ever seen. Just an awesome assortment of songs sung by people/bands that want to give their all to God. I have this one and Wow Worship Blue, and I can't wait for Green! A MUST for every Christian home!

1. This CD is awesome. It really inspired and help me to make it during the aftermath of Hurricane Ike. #13 of the CD "I'm a Witness" is the highlight of it all. I know for a fact it was nobody but Jesus that brought us through the storms of life. I want to share the good news and let "everyone" know that "I am a Witness".



2. The was a really nice cd. I recommended it to my family and friends. It's very inspirational and my co workers love and request certain songs to hear on a daily basis.

1. I'm a Buddhist and I ain't too certain about Jesus but hell I'm blown away by this. The richness of the voices as they weave in and out is extraordinary. There's a beaufiful harmony, no voice is too strong. It's just right

3. Words fail me, but this CD by the Fairfield Four never does. I can't remember how I found it, but it's been a strong favorite in my CD collection for years now. Impeccable performances, marvelous voices, beautiful spirit - nourishment for ears, soul and spirit. This morning I started importing CDs into my iTunes collection, and this one is on top of the stack. Thank you, Fairfield Four, for making this recording. It's truly one for the ages.



4. I first heard of The Fairfield Four in connection with the Coen Brothers film "Oh Brother Where Art Thou?" - so, quite recently then. Being an English Catholic you don't tend to hear an awful lot of American Gospel music in the UK. How many years have I wasted? This album just blew me away with the harmonies, the depth and tone and the sheer love and joy in these songs. I must have listened to it a 100 times now and it never fails to lift my spirits. Give your soul a workout and buy this album!

Good Lord...this is music so incredible that even this agnostic (that is normally disgusted by "Christians" & their hipocracies) can happily put up with all the Born Again hogwash & references to births in Bethlehem & the Ten Commandments, to be delighted by the lush, dramatic, creative, playful harmonies that exude musical genius with every note. This is REAL music....this IS world class American music.

1. True originals, with African, gospel, country blues, folk all mixed deep in their rich a cappella brew. Rough and sometimes raw interplay of voices has the resonance of a more desperate than joyful revival. Studio and live tracks.
   
   Disk 1. Polyphonic voices coalesce into communal rhythms, passion, determination, and remarkable beauty. Didactic, but who cares-everything else in the mix quickly shoves that aside. Raw cries from somewhere down deep and primeval, close to the soul of the human condition. 2. Arguably, the best accapella group, ever. Period.
   
   This retrospective of this dynamic group reflects their extensive vocal range (even sounding like ambulances on one track!) and their righteous goals: reaching back to honor and remember the past, while pushing feminist and peace-loving values foward.
   
   Absolutely, incomparable.
   
   If you've come upon this group's section by chance or Amazon recommendation, you are in luck. Please, pick them up. You won't be disappointed.



3. Oh those voices.....deep harmonies, heavy rhythms, and rich timbres--just like angels. Sweet Honey in the Rock gives any song, both new and old, its own charm and artistry. I'd recommend this to anyone with a taste for beauty and strength.



4. If you were touched by the civil rights movement, if you feel you are living in the 90's with a 60's political spirit, this album will touch you like no other. Sweet Honey kept, and keeps, that spirit alive. A wonderful retrospective of their work. "We who believe in freedom cannot rest until it comes" says it all.

1. Excellent worship DVD. Great images and song make a perfect combination for family and church worship.



2. I purchased this to be able to use for our small group. The songs are great - varied and appropriate! I listened to every song before we used it. I couldn't help but worship - a couple of the songs touched me to the point of tears, a couple made me dance! I was excited to find that with a few pushes of my remote buttons, I could make it so that the words were on the screen. This was the perfect purchase for what I was looking for... I plan to purchase all of the series.



3. I considered buying these videos as gift for some friends, but thought I'd better look them over first to see if they would make a good gift. From the first song to the last I was more impressed than I thought possible. I am now going to purchase the entire series for myself also.

1. Iloved this CD - Willie's unique voice singing out those timeless old hymns - what a combination!



2. I prefer this record to The Troublemaker. They are both filled with great gospel songs. This record is much more intimate instead of a sounding like a jam session. So I'd give the music 4 stars.
   
   As a CD reissue, I give this 0 stars. It's really pitiful. This CD is a reissue of the Family Bible LP from 1980. They changed the order which I don't mind, but they dropped "An Evening Prayer" which is unfortunate. They changed the cover from a charming studio photo of Bobby and Willie to a New England postcard. They spent no time remastering the sound. I transferred my vinyl and I did a better job that the record label, and they had theoretically had access to the masters.



3. Originally released in 1980 under the title "Family Bible." The song, Family Bible, was a minor country hit in 1980 and is one of my favorite songs on this CD. If you are looking for a follow-up to Willie's outstanding "The Troublemaker" album you might be disappointed in this album. While it is a very good CD, the performances are stripped down and lack the backing vocals and instrumental support found on "The Troublemaker." What you get on this CD is just Willie, his guitar, and a piano accompaniment. No drums, no bass guitar, no slide, no organ, etc... That does not make this a bad album, but it lacks the punch that "Troublemaker" has. The result here are solid performances and a much more peaceful feel. I recommend this CD if you like traditional gospel music or if you like Willie Nelson. But if you are looking for a "Troublemaker II" you might be disappointed.



4. THE SONG "TELL IT TO JESUS" IS MY FAVORITE SONG OFF OF THIS ALBUM. I DEDICATE IT TO ANYONE WHO IS DOWN AND OUT.

1. Love the live studio feel thay achieved. So many great grooves and quirky sounds - alot of fun to listen to with a great message!



2. I purchased this CD b/c I had recently seen the band open for the Newsboys. It the time of the show, I had not truly enjoyed New World Son(NWS). I remember being bored, waiting for the Newsboys. Being that I am a 12 Year fan of the Newsboys this was to be expected. When I had the chance to give NWS a second chance I took it, As first impressions are often wrong. I was amazed to find that I LOVED this CD. Perfect blend of rhythm and faith. Great lyrics, awesome vibe. This CD is Perfect, and I hope someday to see NWS live again as a now true fan!!



3. From the opening track of Salvation Station I knew that Newworldson had something different and special to make it stand out. There music doesnt really sound like anyone else that I can think of. It is praise and worship with some rock, blues, jazz, southern gospel, reggae and a few other types of music infused throughout the sound. I like the song "Salvation Station" "Working Man" and "Gimme." I expect really great things from them and this album is worth the listen for all fans of great music especially those willing to try something new.



4. I first heard NEWWORLDSON at what may have been their first show in the US. It was during the newsboys' GO tour at the Peoria, IL show in October 2007. My husband and I were in the foyer perusing the booths and buying souvenirs. Then we heard the concert beginning with some cool gospel bluesy tunes. We kept shopping but the music was distractingly good. Too curious and too anxious not to miss whoever this band is, we left our shopping and went inside to check out this group. After the next song, we were up on our feet clapping and cheering this new band...NEWWORLDSON. With great anticipation, I finally received their new album...and it is more than worth the wait.
   
   The album begins with the title track "Salvation Station". Mark Rogers' cranking drum intro tells us that this is not going to be your typical praise and worship song. Much of this song reminds me of the "Blue Brothers" soundtrack. Being a native Chicagoan, this comparison is meant as high praise. There is a strong urge to clap your hands and stomp your feet when listening to NEWWORLDSON . "Salvation Station" (a song about reaching Heaven) will cause you to do just that.
   
   Following is "Working Man" a song about being a servant for the Lord. The music is a bit whimsical which I like since it shows that NEWWORLDSON doesn't take themselves too seriously. Joel Parisien (lead vocalist) takes us to the bridge with a vocal scat proving their musical creativity. The song ends with Rich Moore's fingers working hard for all of us bass lovers. Be sure to check out this song's video on their website and YouTube.
   
   "Gimme" currently is available for free download from their label's website (www.inpop.com). This is my personal favorite because I appreciate the rawness of the lyrics. Don't we want the Lord to give us more love and grace? We are treated to a captivating guitar solo from Josh Toal that shows the depth of talent in this band.
   
   Once again, Mark Rogers' commanding drum intro grabs your attention at the start of "Empty Heart". Joel's full mellow voice eloquently delivers the message that only God can fill up our empty hearts.
   
   The slow melancholy mood of "Sweet Holy Spirit" balances the general upbeat tone of the album. Here Joel leads us to surrender ourselves to the working of the Holy Spirit. I especially like the closing line"I worried so much, I forget how to pray". Thankfully, he follows this cry of exhaustion with the echoing theme of "Spirit, I surrender to you". You will be encouraged with this song.
   
   "Babylon is Gonna Fall" reminds us that this world will pass. As the song progresses the mood intensifies and you feel a greater sense of urgency. This is mirrored in the lyrics that challenge us to set our priorities right before Babylon falls.
   
   "Down from the Mountain" has a bit more of a funky kind of beat. This song is about how our lives have changed now that we've come down from the mountain high of accepting God into our lives. There is a great beat-box breakdown towards the mid-section of the song that would make the Fat Boys and Doug E. Fresh proud.
   
   This lyric heavy album continues with Borderline where NEWWORLDSON challenges us to make choices when we meet the borderline between right and wrong ("there is a line in the sand...have you chosen where you stand?"). This song has the most intense lyrics due to its siren call warning us of the inevitable temptation, falling down and "turning around" in life's journey to serve God.
   
   I was surprised to hear the delightful Jamaican melody of "Citybus Lovesong". Joel serenades us with the kazoo (yes...the kazoo!). If you haven't seen the video of his kazoo talents, I strongly suggest you check out their videos on YouTube. The guy is good!
   
   "Waitin till the Rapture Come" is a throwback to old school southern gospel music. You will enjoy Joel's work on the keyboards and the moving baseline groove courtesy of Rich Moore. The best part is the long instrumentation portion of the song. The band knows that sometimes music speaks louder than words and they aren't afraid to let the music "do what it do".
   
   NEWWORLDSON closes out this offering with "Pledge of Allegiance". Another great reggae beat ushering in the message of pledging allegiance to God. Josh's background vocals provide excellent added texture to the melody.
   
   What a way to finish out the album. I have already listened to it a few million times and it is still just as fresh as when I peeled the plastic cover off it. I bet you will think so too.

1. I am looking for the version song of Victory in Jesus and I do beleive that James Cleveland wrote it. I have looked through the albums that were shown (that shows the songs on the album) and have not found it yet. Do you have any elsewhere that will show this song so that I can get it ordered. It is a gospel song and it is so beautifully made. Thanks.



2. What a great cd compilation!! All the songs (we sung in our choir) written expressively from Rev. James Cleveland (for the few exceptions and even those) complimented his vocals and spiritual heights to reach the audience who together with the Reverend reached and lifted their hands high to the Almighty Saviour. This cd is an everyday tool in my cd player, and these days it is needed. You won't ever walk alone. Hallelujah!



3. This CD is what good gospel music is all about, it reminds you of the times when our families were united, when children and parent talked together, prayed together and went to church together. Remember Sunday Dinners?



4. God truly has smiled on gospel music over the years. No matter where you are in this country and some parts of the world Gospel music has made its mark. There's nothing like waking up on Sunday mornings listening to the sounds of James Cleveland singing "Jesus is the best thing that ever happened". It goes on and on.    just wont do.... First call on Jesus and then listen to this CD



5. ....plus the Cleveland Classics God has Smiled on Me, I Don't Feel No Ways Tired and Lord Help Me to Hold Out. But the choice of these, in my opinion, is Jesus is the Best Thing in which James banters (testifies, rather) between verse ('I heard Gladys Knight sing this, I changed the words'...and later I don't know who Gladys was talking about, but') and the congregational response is one of appreciation of how clever it was for Cleveland to adopt the tune for gospel, but also how true it feels to each listener, personally. Also, I think Gladys *did* manage to sneak in to do uncredited background harmonies to James. It was a rare moment, a great moment, captured on tape.
   This is a CD of gospel greatness. Find it and get it.

2. This CD is so anointed! We keep it playing all the time in our home office, which we use for our prayer room. It makes for a beautiful time with the Lord! I love to play it right before our prayer time to usher in the presence of the Lord! it's great, and I'd definately recommend it!



3. This CD is the most inspiring one that I have ever heard. I was going through a rough period in my life and a patient gave me this CD. I listened to it morning, noon, and night every chance I got. After a while things seemed to get better and the load was not as heavy as it had been.
   Thanks to Juanita for sharing her soul with us and Praise to God for letting her be able to share with us.



4. This CD is one that everyone should get a copy of. It takes you into the presence of GOD unlike any other CD. It's all about worship. If you need to get into the presence of GOD, sit with this CD for a while and before long you will be on your knees.
