- After listening to this CD, I have concluded that Israel is most effective and brilliant when he is live on stage. This CD was so fun to listen to! Israel has a way of composing good music without subtracting from the message and the call to worship. I love this new album! I just wish I had been in South Africa when he performed.
- The two CD set of "Alive in South Africa by Israel & New Breed," is a must have, especially if you enjoy Gospel / Praise and Worship music. I listen to it pratically everyday.
- Very nice!! Israel and New Breed create awesome worship for people from all walks of life.
- It seems to me that after each song especially the slow songs, that the Praisers in the pews, are praising More of Israel Houghton than thy are Jesus Christ...
But overall I do like the album,
- This is a powerful testament to the power of Christ. If you are in need of something uplifting, this is the CD for you. The DVD is even BETTER...

- This is alot better than most of SCC albums. It contains a mix of rock/pop songs and some slower heartfelt songs. Contains the radio hits "Dive" and "Fingerprints of God." A nice intro to some of his newer music. Overall a good album that really shows who SCC really is.
- This album is awesome!!!!! Used to listen to Steven back in the 90's and bought this to see how much he had changed. Was not disappointed!!!!!
- Steven's very, very best work yet. In all honesty, these songs changed my
life forever! But, wait there's more...I have bought about 14 copies for other people and each and every person was moved and changed by this work.
The best way to put it is:This is not just a CD, it is a life-changing CD.
The songs make it hard to pick "a favorite" because they all sing to our souls and hearts.
Someone just tell me how you can listen to this work and not be making the listener debate among themselves as to which song is their favorite!
- I have had this CD for a few years now, and it is still my favorite one!
- Speechless...is one of my favorite albums by Steven Curtis Chapman. Every song is heart warming and gives praise to our Heavenly Father.
Thank you SCC keep it up.

- Amazing uplifting music. I used to love this album in my teens (I'm now in my 30s) and still do! Ron Kenoly has a fabulous soulful voice.
- Great music to enjoy in the car going to and from work. This is the way to start (and end) your workday....Praising God.
- Amazing! Glad it is finally available on CD. I wore out my cassette.
Some of the most worship-ful (is that a word?) music I have ever enjoyed.
- I've enjoyed this tape for many years, and I'm here because I have worn it into the ground (Smile), and I'm so excited to replace it. Not only did I replace the cassette which I love to walk on the treadmill to, but I've also purchased the CD and I'm enjoying that in my home as well as in the car! (I also recommend God is Able, another favorite of mine!!)
Thank you Ron Kenoly, and God bless you for such beautiful Worship Music and May the LORD contiune to receive GLORY, HONOR, AND PRAISE from His children, now and forever HE IS WORTHY !!!
- I had heard most of these songs on the radio. I had to do research to find out the name of the artist, and I am glad I did. I am really enjoying the music, and I highly recommend it.

- I am a big fan of Hezekiah Walker. Everytime he comes out with an album, I get it. However, I was somewhat disappointed with it at first. Then I kept playing "Lift Him Up" and "Faithful is Our God". I played the latter even more and was more blessed by it. Then I started getting into other songs and enjoy it more. Definitely should be a part of gospel fans' collections.
- An excellent piece of work by Pastor Hezekiah. I play this CD every morning before going to work. I especially love "Faithful" which ministers over and over. Another great purchase on my part.
- This is the first cd by Hezekiah Walker & LFC that I have purschased. Don't think about buying it, just do it !!! Awesome CD.
- Each song blessed my soul in a different way. There is something on this CD for everyone. Favorites are Faithful, Grateful and for the young(er) people, On Time God.
- This has to be the best Gospel CD in some time. The landscape has been lacking strong, melodic, traditional and spirit-filled Gospel songs led by a Gospel choir that can take the songs to another level. This CD does just that for me. Hezekiah Walker's releases have been consistent, for the most part. He is always able to deliver a message in both upbeat songs as well as the slower, inspirational tunes.
LIFT HIM UP--As the lead single, this uptempo praise joint is amazing. It has a very unique, vaudeville, showtune kind of feel to it. The lyrics are repetitive and it does last a little too long, but it's a fun song nevertheless and a good song to kick off the CD. A
DO YOU KNOW JESUS--After the Gospel workout that was Lift Him Up, this slow, inspirational ballad is the perfect song for an altar call. I know a few choirs here in Chicago that have sung this song as an altar call because it speaks to the notion of truly knowing Jesus personally and then showing that relationship. It starts off understated and low and then goes into the stratosphere towards the end. Do you know Jesus? A
IT'S MORE THAN THAT--A nice breather after the tearjerker or the wake-up call of the previous song, this uptempo has a nice, laidback groove with repetitive lyrics but with a message that speaks to the fact that a relationship with God is more than just the "things" He can provide. The choral harmony in this song is good. A-
HOLD OUT-One of those traditional Gospel songs that has a lot of power and umph and it's a solid song that really makes you want to "hold out" until He comes. It's not as strong as the previous song, but it's still a good uplifter nevertheless. A-
NO DEFEAT--One of my favorite songs on the CD--this is one of those powerful songs with a message. It speaks to the fact that with God on one's side, one cannot be defeated because "since God is the greatest power, we cannot be defeated" as the song says. I like the vamps and the key changes in the song. A+
JEHOVAH REIGNS--I like the message of this song. It is traditional. It sounds like something from the late 90s, but it doesn't have enough energy and pizzaz to take it to the next level and following the previous 5 songs, it is not as powerful and edgy. I usually skip over it, and the lead singer is not the strongest. B+
HE'S ABLE--Another traditional song with a pretty strong lead. The message is what the song states that God is more than able to see you through. It doesn't have that same feeling and vibe as the others, so I usually skip over it. It's better than Jehovah Reighns. B+
CELEBRATE--Now moreso than any other song on the CD, this one is one that will put people into an exubernt praise mode. It does as the title says which is to celebrate the name of Jesus. The lyrics are simple, but it's a powerful song. The choir handles this well. I listen to this a lot. A+
FAITHFUL IS OUR GOD--This has to be my second favorite song on the CD. It's currently a single. It has that traditional meets 2005 kind of song. It speaks to the faithful, holy nature of God. The powerful choir's vocals coupled with the key settings of the song and the musical arrangments make this a basic masterpiece. A+
ON TYME GOD--This is a nice song even though it's kind of unique and weird. With some of the things or lyrics the choir says, you can tell that they're traditional, but they're trying to be contemporary. B+
GRATEFUL--This is the 2nd ballad/Inspirational song on the CD. This is worth the CD itself. It talks about the power of God and just being grateful. See, you have to listen to the rest of the songs that talk about the nature of God, the power of God and just having a relationship with Him. When you transcend beyond just appreciating God, you can then be grateful for all that He is about. In the bridge, the choir just repeats "grateful, grateful, grateful." They also modulate while doing it. After that, you just go there. It reminds me of slavery at times and how to just be grateful to God where He's brought African-Americans and many other things.
This is a stellar Gospel CD, and I see why it's received the acclaim it has and the Stellar Award for best traditional Gospel CD.

- Chris Rice's music is sometimes intensely personal and much of his music has a testimonial feel to it. He is a clever lyric writer, and expresses his own faith journey very well. This is an enjoyable CD, and a good way to get to know Rice and his music.
- I bought this cd because of "Untitle Hymn". It was sung in church, and I loved it. I am often disappointed with the rest of a cd, when I buy for one particular song - but thought the words to this song were so meaningful, I would do it anyway. I love every song on this cd. There are happy songs (Cartoons), inspiring songs (Light Your Candle) and more serious songs. In fact, I loved the cd so much, I ordered 2 more for gifts.
-
I love Chris Rice and my daughter, Olivia does also. She likes the Cartoon Song. We play it on the way to school each morning. We've had a lot of fun with this CD. It is spiritual and fun to listen too.
- It wasn't my favorite album from Chris Rice, but still really good. Check out Amusing and his latest album "what a heart is beating for".
- This is my first Chris Rice CD that I have ever owned but after many of his songs have been on the radio for years I took a chance on a purchase and I am completely satisfied. This is truly a CD that keeps on giving! The words and different song styles combines with excellent vocals make it a great listen to wake up to in the morning, or fall asleep to at night. You truly feel God's presence and peace when listening to this CD, and I highly recommend it to everyone.

- This CD by Beverly Crawford is Awesome I love it and would recordment it for all gospel music lover. If you don't have it please get it I promise you will love it just as I do.
- The soul and fire of Beverly Crawford reigns supreme on this album. Her hit single, "He's Done Enough", is destined for platinum status. She skillfully brings back old school gospel and blends it with a soulful delivery that can only be done Beverly Crawford's Way. Her name will reign up there with the likes of such great gospel icons as Abertina Walker, Shirley Caesar, and Dorothy Norwood. For the gospel music lover, this is one album that you will want to add to your collection.
- If Beverly Crawford wasn't previously on the radar of female gospel greats, she certainly is with her Live from Los Angeles CD. This live performance allows a glimpse of the power of the spirit through Crawford's voice perhaps not captured in a studio recording. She combines a bit of old school and new school gospel that is sure to please a diverse listening audience. Kudos to her song-writers, lyricists and special guests.
- This is my first purchase of a Beverly Crawford CD. This CD will bless your soul awesomely. Sister Crawford delivers each song from the depths of her soul, my most favorite songs are "We Need to Hear a Word from You", "Praise Jehovah", but really; all of the songs are incredible and you will truly feel the presence of God. This is the first CD purchased in a while that I am wearing out, I keep playing it so much. It is on my list to give as gifts to people this year in 2008. Sister Crawford will surely be blessed with a Stellar Award in 2009.
- I bought this cd for one song, and was blessed. I am glad I took a chance and purchased this CD. What a blessing.

Why Do I Do
Can you believe I like that many? Pretty cool huh? - a WOW that has great songs almost all the way through! I don't even like a lot of those artists or their regular music, but this WOW takes the VERY best and includes them! Even if you aren't into WOW CDs, you still should get this CD - it's fantastic! Every year they have just been getting better and better, and I can't wait to get WOW 2005. It seems that that one is the very best, but I think out of MY collection of almost all of the WOWs - THIS one is the BEST!! If you just starting getting into WOW and are wondering "Which WOW should I get" (I know I did and I was confused), get WOW 2004 ~ I'm sure you'd like it most! Well, thanks for listening to my blabbering, and I hope you will buy this CD soon!
- This is a great CD. I just got it and I'm glad I did! I'm almost 13, and I belive this is a great CD for anyone. I like the layout of the paper insert. It shows a picture of the CD the song is from, then under that the song's title, the artist, and a short intro to the song, as well as a website of the artist.
I can't tell you all my favorites, I love almost all of them! I'll give you the titles.
He Reigns*, All About Love, Great Light of the World, You Found Me*, Everything to Me, Legacy*, You're my God, Sing Alleluia, You are a Child of Mine*, The Other Side of the Radio*, My Heart Goes Out*, Nothing Compares, You Get Me*, Stuck.
(* I like these the most)
WOW Hits 2004 is great!
- Wait a minute...Wow Hits 2004, compiled in 2003? Is somebody getting a little presumptuous? The compilers have played it safe here, choosing only established mainstream artists to feature in this collection.
In past releases, Wow proved to be an excellent source where we could get a taste of new, up-and-coming or just plain too-quirky-for-radio artists. Sure, it made for some inconsistency in the overall sound, but it gave us a better idea of the diversity of Christian music out there. It gave the little guy a chance to get noticed and appreciated.
This is an outstanding collection of songs and artists, make no mistake about that. It just doesn't cover the same territory that past Wows have. This will be of great appeal to those who embrace the mainstream. Those of us who like to dabble outside that realm will be left slightly wanting.

- Yolanda Adams helps you do your prayer work on this one. Facing serious life challenges - just put this on morning when waking and night when going to sleep. Her spiritual commitment on this cd will help YOU get a prayer through. I listen when staring down the biggest demons in my lifetime. You can leave "This too Shall Pass" on repeat. It works.
- Listening to Yolanda has always been a delight. In this album, she listed what she called the "best". The truth is all her songs are great!

4 comments about Silent Night: The Greatest Hits of Christmas.
- This album is a traditional Christmas Story and so good to experience. It takes me back to my childhood when Christmas meant so much more than Turkey, Ham and Presents. So good to listen to after all the rock and roll
- Wow!!! A tour-de-force by America's preeminent choir! Those people that can "feel choral music in their soul", rather than just listen to music, cannot help but to be impressed with this CD. Of especial power are "Joy to the World", "Silent Night", and the "Hallelujah Chorus". Hearing these songs sung by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir has to be as close to listening to Heaven's Choir of Angels that you will get here on earth.
- After listening to many recordings by this choir - and many of their Christmas recordings - I have come to the conclusion that their tendency to add elements such as a brass and percussion ensemble interferes with their presentation of music. (In this recording, they are joined by the Columbia Brass and Percussion Ensemble.) The programm here brings out the greatest hits of Christmas - and it is odd perhaps to hear them perform a number such as WINTER WONDERLAND. The singing is uniformly fair to good, becoming exceptional in HALLELUJAH CHORUS and FOR UNTO US A CHILD IS BORN. One thinks back to the great Christmas recordings they have done - two LPs come to mind - THE HOLLY AND THE IVY and THE MORMON TABERNACLE CHOIR SINGS CHRISTMAS CAROLS. And their excellent LP under Leonard Bernstein. That is the sound that suits them best. The straightforward, unadorned sound that made them famous.
- This is classic Mormon Tabernacle Christmas music. This is a must in everyone's Christmas collection. We have enjoyed them for decades on LP. We were not disappointed in this CD. Their voices are full and vibrant as ever. Their enunciation and diction is so clear you understand each word. Their selection consists of the classic carols, and modern Christmas songs. A choice between the CD,"Sleigh Ride" with the subtitle of the Mormon Tabernacle and this CD favors this one; as the other only has one selection actually song by the choir.
