  1. I just love listening to this cd. Its awesome and you should buy it also. It is going to build up your walking with God. God bless you all

  2. This is only the second Barlow Girl project I listened to -- I have yet to listen to their second effort.

I was surprised with the strings on the opening song -- and pleased. I enjoyed this one much more than the debut project.

Most of the time, I avoid reading any of the other reviews before I post mine, but this time I looked at the trio of 2 star reviews and the one 3 star review. One pointed out the music style is different. I agree, but for me, this is a plus. One mentioned it was too slow and another that all sounded the same. They must have been listening to different projects. Another mentioned the lyrics were hard to understand. To some extent I agree, but I didn't find it harder than a lot of other projects by other artists. And there was a lot I did understand without consulting the lyrics.

One person mentioned the cover art (on the one 4 star review I read). I found the first picture to make a statement, tying in the title to the concept of "One More Round". This is not the first time Christianity has been equated with a boxing match (e.g. "Contender" by Sweet Comfort Band, "No Way I'm Going Down" by White Cross, "I Come Out Fighting" by Greg Volx), and that is because of its applications.

My favorite tracks? "Song For The Broken", "Here's My Life", "Million Voices", "Sweet Revenge", "One More Round", and "I Don't Regret".

  3. Honestly people, in case you haven't noticed, this album is exactly the same as every other album Barlow Girl has come out with. The songs all sound the same as they did before, both lyrically and musically. There's a good reason most Barlow Girl fans are between the ages of 10-14: they don't understand what good muisc is yet. There are only so many times you can say the same thing over and over again without becoming repentive, and they wore that out halfway through their first album. I'm hoping someday soon they leave the music business altogether.

  4. The girls did an awesome job with this cd.My 11yr old daughter loves it!Definately alot of head shaking and dancing going on in my home! This is a way in which they have to chosen to sing about what they believe in.

  5. this is a great Christian rock band, if you listen to Lifehouse or bands similar to them, then you will love Barlow Girl.

2 comments about Daylight is Coming.

  1. Remedy Drive's "Daylight Is Coming" is a breath of fresh air in the Christian Rock genre. Remedy Drive is made up of four members, all brothers, and they have a sound that reminds me of a cross between Relient K, Switchfoot, The Fray, and Robbie Seay Band. According to the band, they sound like U2, Coldplay, Muse, Switchfoot, Jimmy Eat World, and Keane. I can hear those influences in their music, though I think my comparisons are more accurate. Remedy Drive have great, positive messages in their songs, and they should appeal to both Christians and non-Christians alike. The songs are also catchy and would sound great live in an arena, but my only complaint is some of the songs sound too similar and the album is only 35 minutes long. But for a debut album, I consider this to be a 4 1/2 and can't wait to hear more from these guys. And Amazon has them for a great price, so go order NOW!

  2. Remedy Drive, the new alternative rock band from Lincoln, Nebraska caught my ear right away with the Brit-Rock hook of the debut single Daylight. The 4 Zach brothers have a sound that reminds me of Blue October, Jackson Waters, Grey Holiday and NEEDTOBREATHE (all favorites of mine). Dove Award winning producer Ian Eskelin of the band All Star United has produced a very accessible new alternative rock album similar to his own band's excellent debut from 1997 .

Daylight Is Coming kicks off with the solid anthem Stand Up, with the piano-driven rock-style that Coldplay has made famous. All Along is another standout track along with Hope and the excellent closing song Valuable. This is an album that you can enjoy over and over again. If you enjoy good rock hooks and solid lyrics, then you'll enjoy Remedy Drive.

5 comments about Our World: Redeemed.

  1. I enjoyed this CD, although, I don't think it is quite as good as Our World: Redeemed. It just seems a little bit slower.

One of the things I really like about Flame is he doesn't water down the truth. It's like listening to a preacher rap a sermon to you.

  2. THis Cd is good start to finish. Flame puts the word on beats like never before. Joyful Noise, I been redeemed, and Hold On are probably my favorites. They make you wanna just get up and dance.

  3. This is hands down one of the best Christians hip hop album to drop this year and easily one of the best of all time!!! Our World: Redeemed hits hard and delivers on every level with its amazing beats and outstanding lyrics! Great production and incredible features make this album a must have for anyone who is a fan of the genre or anyone who is just a little curious about Christian rap. Get this one it will not disappoint! My favorite tracks include; "Go Buck," "Hold On," "I've been Redeemed," See More Him," "Power in Your Name," and "Joyful Noise!" God Bless!

  4. Before I had bought this album I had heard the song, joyful noise. I liked it so much that I had to check out the other songs on the album. At first I didn't like them that much, but then they grew on me. Now I can't stop listening to the album! The Lord really shines through Flame (and feat artists) in this album. I would tell you my favorite songs on this album except that I like everyone of them. This is a must buy! 5/5. God Bless.

  5. This CD is nothing short of simply freakin amazing! I love it and I'm happy I bought. Tracks like Joyful Noise and Hold On are crazy, but every track on the cd is good. Worth the money!

  1. I was looking for something different to listen to and this came up on my recommendations thought i might give it a listen.
I was very pleasantly surprised by Jimmy Needham and his ability to be so smooth.

He reminded me of Jason Mraz, but with maybe a little more relevance as far as lyrics go, talking about how we view others, to our self worth and even a great love song in firefly.
This is truly a great album up there with some of my favorites.

Recommended if you like Jason Mraz, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Shawn McDonald and Matthew West.

  2. Mr. needham has a great way of stringing words together. Sometimes he reminds me of Jason Mraz because he uses words better than most of the so called songwriters out there. This album is well produced. I think it is his best to date. Now I am just waiting for a live album because he is much better in person. I would love to hear him experiment with a little electic guitar.

  3. So I became a fan of JN about a year ago and immediately purchased his music. This album is just as good as the first two. This album moves to a slightly more mainstream sound but every track is still amazing. His music never really gets old and anyone fond of Christian Rock should definitely pick this up along with his older music. The music has a classic feel and that is something that really sets him apart from those in the Christian Rock world today. He is definitely an underrated artist and I expect him to rise on the charts steadily with this release. Support this amazing artist and his ministry!

5 comments about Phil Wickham.

  1. I purchased and LOVED Phil Wickham's CD "Cannons" and it is one of my favorite CD's. I love his style, his voice, his passionate lyrics. He personifies great praise music and does it with a U2-Keene feel. With that said, I was a little hesitant to buy this CD...I figured I would be a little disappointed with his debut album after loving his sophomore album so much. In my mind, I figured it just can't be a good. But I was wrong. It is just as good.

I was hooked right away with the opening song "Grace." This is a powerful song and Phil's vibrato is perfection. This song is just as strong as any on "Cannons." But it doesn't end there. I loved "Messiah," "Mystery," especially "Divine Romance," and "I Will Wait For You There," which is a powerful acoustic song (with some strings). And "Holy, Holy, Holy" is also quite powerful.

This CD has a little less British rock feel as "Cannons," where that influence is more prevalent, but you can still hear it in his voice. He has an amazing gift and he is a major talent in a watered-down Praise and Worship industry. His lyrics, though simple at times, are still poetic and truly reflect a passion and desire to follow and praise God. We need more like him. If you don't have this CD or "Cannons," get immediately!

  2. This CD is good. Lots of good songs. Some of the songs aren't my style, but most everyone I know who has it loves it. It's pretty good.

  3. This is an amazing cd and is pretty hard to find at stores. I'm so glad that I could find it AND for such a great price! Seller was very easy to work with as well, which made the buying process so pleasant!

  4. Okay, so I first heard of Phil Wickham when I went to a David Crowder concert. He is an amazing vocalist. He played on only his acoustic guitar and sang- no band. He was simply amazing. His heart to worship is awesome and I really felt that at the worship concert. I love the lyrics to his songs because of how he worships the Lord. Yes- something that is creative, sounds like a person that knows music and loves the Lord! I actually like this CD better than the Cannons although there are songs on Cannons I like, some of the background music I think is too much. I prefer him and his guitar, some drums . . . I think less is more really does him well. Although on this album I think he has a similar sound to Coldplay on some songs. This album is great!!!!!!!!!!

  5. I can't say enough good things about this CD! I originally bought it because I loved the song Divine Romance. I was totally expecting it to be like every other CD I've ever bought, a couple great songs, a couple good songs, and the rest you can take or leave. I put it on in the background while I was working and I kept looking up after every song saying "wow"! It was like, song 1 "wow", song 2 "wow", song 3 "wow", until eventually I finshed the whole thing and I was just really blown away. I think the lyrics are very moving and the sound is great. I know some other people have said this, but some of the songs do have a Coldplay feel to them, but then some of them are completely different. I love the fact that he writes and plays all the songs, no canned pop music here. My favorite, although it's hard to choose one, is track 3 "Mystery", it's got some serious sound and depth to it, I love it. I just bought Cannons, his new CD, and I have to say, he's really got a unique sound and heart for God which together make for an amazing musical experience. I highly recommend both CD's.

  1. This CD is wonderfull. We used it for our vow renewal ceremony. The songs are very emotional and meaningful. Selah is great!!

  2. This is the best CD ever. If you know someone who is going through hard times in their life, this is the CD to give to them. The songs Hold On and Press On give encouragement to hang in there, lean on Jesus, and He'll see you through. I continue to share it with others in need. It truly is a blessing!

  3. Stunning vocal harmonies; soul-penetrating lyrics; soothing musical accompaniment; deep spiritual relevance; altogether a great collection of songs that usher in a bit of heaven.

  4. When I'm down, when I am feeling seperated from the Lord, this music helps to bring me back. I've only recently rediscovered CCM and Selah, So this is all still fresh to me. Keep pressing On!

  5. Awesome CD. Love every track. A great time of praise with this CD. Highly recommend.

  3. This cd is full of great songs and resources! I was very pleased with it.

  4. I myself have not listened to the music but i bought all the bible music for my 2 oldest grandsons...they told me they like it..you know boys, not as verbal as girls. The shipment arrived on time infact earlier than expected.

  5. Excellent arrangements and excellent song choices on the CDs. Every Christian parent should have a few of the Cedarmont Kids CDs in their collection in my opinion. These are affordable and simply some of the very best of what is currently available.

  1. Very inspirational music and messages! It was a treat to hear the duet featuring John P. Kee and Fred Hammond. I rather enjoyed that! I usually play the CD while getting dressed for church on Sunday mornings. It's a blessing, despite the dishonest and poor service from the seller of the CD (Dirtcheapmedia).

  2. The music is joyful and great fun to listen to. I play it in the car when I need a pick-me-up.

  3. I love this CD. I play track #1 all the time. The songs are fresh, vigorous and completely filled with God's anointing. It encourages me every day when Ilisten to it. This is the 3rd copy I have purchased. I hope that every one goes out and purchases this CD. Please do not buy the Bootleg. It aint worth it.

  4. John P. Kee has done it once again! He along with the New Life Community
Choir lift their voices and sing songs of praise and worship. If you weren't uplifted you will be after hearing these selections; especially cuts 1, 4 and 9. They have the old school soul-stimulating gospel flare that is always certain to get an Amen and a hallelujah, too!

  5. John P. Kee, signature style, is obvious to those of you who are familar with music. I believe that this cd has more praise than worship music on it but it's good if you like the P.Kee style.

5 comments about The King of Rock 'n' Roll: The Complete 50's Masters.

  1. If you're an Elvis Presley fan there is no need to go into the details of the music that gave birth to R&R - it's all here. Everything he recorded in the 1950s. If you were born in 1977 or later and only know of The King from hearsay, this box-set is a musical history lesson.

Adding to the lustre of this wonderful collection from RCA Victor is the multi-page book containing numerous photographs, record label reproductions, including the Sun 78 rpm issues, all his LP/EP covers, poster reproductions, a complete 1950s discography, and reams of fascinating liner notes by Peter Guralnick.

There is also an advertisement giving you a compete listing of Elvis videos, along with a sheet of 36 "collectable" stamps depicting his album covers.

All in all, a marvelous collection which truly lives up to the adjective "essential" like no other.

  2. This is the definitive early Elvis recordings collection to own as well as begin one's journey when understanding where the roots of rock and roll began and forever changed the face of popular music. It is appropriately titled, ELVIS THE KING OF ROCK AND ROLL: THE COMPLETE 50's MASTERS. These are master recordings that cover the years 1953-1959, and includes all of his legendary and classic hits, such as "Heartbreak Hotel," "Hound Dog," "Love Me Tender," and "Don't Be Cruel." Once one hears the somewhat haunting opening track, "My Happiness," a song made famous by Connie Francis, and subsequent unreleased tracks within the five CDs that have not been heard before, there is no doubt that Elvis had indeed an immaculate voice where he crossed musical genres and boundaries: blues, country, soul, gospel, rock and roll, and rockabilly; undoubtedly he said it all during a Sun recording session, " I don't sound like nobody."

RCA and BMG music exceptionally and lovingly compiled this box set. Besides the five CDs, there also includes a beautifully presented souvenir book that provides a detailed chronology of Elvis's recordings, which includes his Sun and RCA records session dates as well as soundtrack sessions, catalog numbers of each US and UK album release, and most importantly, the book illustrates the excitement of Elvis mania with the display of photographs, singles, album covers, and short anecdotes and reminiscences of various sessions as noted by Peter Guralnick.

ELVIS THE KING OF ROCK AND ROLL box set will leave one breathless. Elvis Presley was one of a kind, and continues to be emulated by fans and new generations alike as they discover and rediscover his music. Indeed, Elvis is still everywhere.

  3. Do yourself a favor and order this collection along with the 60's & 70's. There are songs you won't find on other CD's, and hear Elvis as a regular "guy" just makes you love him more.

  4. THE KING OF ROCK 'N' ROLL: THE COMPLETE 50's MASTERS is a four-CD set, with a bonus disc containing alternate studio takes, and a lot of "live" Elvis recordings-- MGM Grand stuff, mostly. Except for the acetate of "That's When Your Heartaches Begins" and the few alternates, DISC 5 is fluff.

The other four CDs however are a treasure trove of the music that defined "The King." From his one-of-a-kind 1953 recording booth acetate of "My Happiness" to the 1958 fast version of "Ain't That Loving You Baby," this set documents Presley's recording career in chronological order and without gaps.

The 102-page long box-sized book includes sessionography, discography, color photos of all LP, EP and 45 picture sleeves, an excellent bio in easy to read print, and lots of other color and B&W photos. Sound quality is excellent. This one gets five stars for the biggest star of all!

    TOTAL RUNNING TIMES --
    DISC ONE -- 71:22
    DISC TWO -- 70:40
    DISC THREE -- 71:49
    DISC FOUR -- 62:39
DISC FIVE (Rare And Rockin')-- 61:31

  5. The songs are great, but they're not listed on the CD itself-only on the case. It's frustrating to put the disks in a multi-disk changer and not know what songs are on the disk.
