  1. This latest release from Delirious is excellent---what I've come to expect from them. Soul-searching lyrics and a good mix of fast and slower songs. Faith is front and center, but not cheesy.

  2. Let me first state that Delirious is my favorite band (with David Crowder Band coming in a close second). So I had very LARGE expectations with this album and I can proudly say that this is my favorite album of 2008 so far (even better than Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" and Leeland's "The Opposite Way"). Delirious brings their signature sounds with Kingdom of Comfort (great guitar sounds, passionate vocals, and thumping bass and rhythm). And in my opinion, this is their BEST album to date. The D-Boys bring songs that are both catchy, thought-provoking, and action oriented. It is an album where the music and the lyrics are at the top of their game.

My favorite songs are: God is Smiling, Love Will Find A Way, We Give You Praise, Kingdom Of Comfort, Wonder, and How Sweet The Name...although I could probably add Break The Silence and Give What You Got to that list, too. And that shows you how many great songs are on this one disc.

I just saw Delirious live the other night (in Virginia) and they were amazing. It was almost two hours worth of song after song after song that was amazing. What a bunch of talented individuals who had a smile on their face the whole night. And it says a lot that when it was over, I could think of at least a dozen songs that they DID NOT play that I wished they had. That's how great they are. Buy this CD IMMEDIATELY and you will not be disappointed. These guys are still putting out quality music that gets better and better each disc (whereas some groups seem to be on the decline).

  3. This is wonderful!! Great, inspired lyrics and really good music...such a good follow up to their last release :)

  5. I have not heard much music from Delirious? until this year really. Alot of it is because I don't have a radio in my house or my car nor do I have TV programing such as cable or satelite. However, I wanted to give my mother a gift to take her to a Joyce Meyer Conference and Delirious was the band that brought the presence of God through the worship at the Winston Salem, NC Joyce Meyer conference 2008. I fell in love with their heart for God's heart! They really truely are after God's own heart and they are so very humble. I loved how they did not make it all about them but all about God. They sung many of the songs from their new album at the conference and I fell in love with their songs but one that really tocuhed me was "We Give You Praise". I absolutely love their songs and I will be a FAN for LIFE! I am purcahsing this New CD and I will be purchasing their other CD's previous to this one! Praise the Lord we have people that LOVE GOD for WHO HE IS and is willing to SEEK HIM and HIS DESIRES FOR THE KINGDOM!

  1. Just want to say that this CD is exactly what i had hoped for. It helps me to focus on God and worship him,

  2. I have heard this artist at our church and that led me to this purchase. Totally Wonderful. 'Give Me Jesus' is a song I listen to everyday. Amen, brothers and sisters, Amen.

  3. I had the privilege to see this artist at Anne Graham Lotz' Just Give Me Jesus revival in New Orleans, where he led our worship...she said when she first heard his singing, she had to go prostrate before the Lord. I understand why! This CD of beautiful worship music is very special and wonderful..."Give Me Jesus" and "Jesus, King of Angels" bring tears to me everytime I listen...

  4. I wish there were 2 ratings: 1 for artists' performance and the other the sonic quality of the CD recording. In the case of this CD by Fernando Ortega, I would rate the former at 5 stars while the sound quality of the recording is rated at 1 star (sounded too artificial and bad studio mixing) which marred my enjoyment of this otherwise great performance.

  5. This is a CD that we play daily because of the words and vocal quality of Mr Orgegs's voice. It is a superb recording for those who appreciate the "old" Hymns of the faith (and some that aren't so old). This is definitely a 5-Star recording.

5 comments about Redemption Songs.

  1. I was a little slow to warm up to this CD, mainly because some of the centuries-old tunes that are showcased here have not ever done much for me on a personal or spiritual level. The more I listened, though, the more the songs began to grow on me. Jars of Clay did a masterful job of taking old hymns that once seemed dry and a bit stodgy, and updated the musical style to breathe new cultural relevance into them for the 21st century Christian. These theologically rich lyrics are reset to more modern music styles ranging from rock to blues to Beatles-like harmonizing. My lukewarm attitude toward this CD has changed so much in recent months that I have purchased the songbook also, and am now incorporating a number of these songs into my music sets when I lead worship during church or small group meetings. Give it a try. I think you will not be disappointed.

  2. Each and every song on this CD is amazing. It surely blessed me. I love the song I'll Fly away. I am thankful this band truly walks with God and blesses us with their music!

  3. I had been away from Jars music for a while, but a friend had this CD and I really loved the songs on it. So I had to get it for myself. Lots of great uplifting, upbeat songs to listen to!

  4. There is something I just love about new versions of old hymns. The one I bought this CD for is "I'll Fly Away." There are several other songs I would have bought the CD for if I had heard them before I bought it. Jars of Clay has an interesting take on some of the songs, which you may find contrived or may find to give new insight. I listen to this CD over and over.

  5. I wanted this CD to be some of the old hymns sung with all the verses in the original tune, but it wasn't.
There were too few "Old" Redemption Songs, and odd music, with most the song being the chorus repeated..
    over...and over...and over...
I only hear one of the songs on the radio.... just not what I was thinking it would be .....

4 comments about Expect The Impossible.

  1. Stellar Kart's newest CD, Expect The Impossible, is much more than I expected. I've never really listened to their music before. I purchased the CD from Pepsi points and was really impressed with what I heard. Their sound is much different than what I typically listen to (i.e., Starfield, Telecast, Salvador, etc.), but different is good in this case. I highly recommend this CD!!

  2. I bought the first 2 Stellar Kart cds and saw the newest one advertised on Amazon for a pretty low price, so I went ahead and ordered it, but did not have very high expectations. I thought the first CD was great lyrically, but not very good musically. The second one was a little better, but still a bit on the cheesy side. I really like the newest CD quite a bit. Their musical ability is improving. The guitars are sounding better and the tunes are a little more catchy now. Their lyrics are still very spiritual, which is fine with me. I think there was quite a bit of improvement over the first CDs here. It's still not quite in the league of Hawk Nelson or Relient K, but they're catching up, in my opinion. Listen to some samples and see what you think.

  3. Really . . . it does. David Lee Roth once said music in the '80s smiled. By capturing elements of '80s music, that's exactly what this album does. I don't like a lot of Contemporary Christian music, but this album is good --very good--from beginning to end. They don't compromise a modern sound while experimenting with elements from previous generations.

It's got a little of Def Leopard's (or Blue Oyster Cult's) cowbell, Van Halen's 1984 synthesizer, and various other '80s synth sounds similar to Ah-Ha or Cutting Crew. Compared to the normal dark and disturbed albums prevalent in secular as well as Christian music, this is more than a refreshing diversion.

It's great to see a modern group with a modern sound that can capture in sound and mood the essence of what made a decade of music so popular.

  4. This album is a step in somewhat of a new direction for Stellar Kart, as there are a number of poppy tracks mixed in with the occasional pop-punk throwback. My two complaints are the length of the CD, only 10 tracks and about 30 minutes of music, plus there are a couple of tracks that sound like Linkin Park, which is just not a good sound for this band. The sunny pop of "Innocent" to begin the record is classic Stellar Kart, and the ballad "Jesus Loves You" proves that these guys write and sing the songs they feel in their hearts as opposed to some corporate, mainstream spit-shined glossy band who only does what their record label tells them to do. "Automatic" is another song with lots of hooks and guitars. Despite the length of the album, there are enough hooks in the upbeat anthem "Sunshine" and the guitar-studded pop punk of "The Rigt One" (which recalls MxPx even moreso than track #4 on their previous CD) to keep the appetite of their fans satisfied. This band continues to gradually improve, but one does get the feeling that they have not quite hit their peak yet on their three albums to date.

  1. This CD is a great collection of Country Christian artists. The title song brings a lump to your throat.

  2. I would agree with S. Friend below. Not bad, and unfortunately, not even all that good. Vince Gill, Josh Turner, and Allison Krauss top the list in terms of musical craftsmanship, melodies, and lyrics. The rest are sincere, earnest, but artless, bland, and in the case of John Michael Montgomery and "The Little Girl," just plain judgmental, and offensive.

"Two non-believers, lost in this world. .. daddy drank all day and mommy did drugs... " which John Michael rhymed with the "hugs" the little girl never got. How about writing a song that doesn't sound holier-than-thou? How about reaching out to the "non-believers" instead of condemning them?

What's the point of this kind of song? The people who need to hear this message aren't the "good Christians" that go to church and take good care of their kids. The lost souls need it. Don't turn them off totally.

By the way, radical Muslims often refer to "non-believers" as a way of turning people against them. It's a sort of "hate language." Kind of makes you wonder why John Michael would choose to use those words?

    Carl Owen

  3. This album is one I will listen to over, and over, and over again! The variety of artists, combined with the heart-warming and challenging themes makes it one I will never get tired of!

  4. If you love country and want to be inspired by songs of God's grace and love, then you will love this one. A wide range of artists and styles.

  5. THIS CD JUST BLEW ME AWAY. IT'S AWESOME, I MUST HAVE LISTENED TO IT 25 TIMES STRAIGHT THROUGH WITHOUT CHANGING TO ANOTHER CD. I WOULD LOVE TO GIVE EVERYONE I KNOW A COPY.

5 comments about Tyler Perry's Diary of a Mad Black Woman.

  1. another one of my favorite soundtracks. this one speaks to my spirit. loved the movie as well. great to listen to on a sunday morning after church or just when you feel like you need some inspirational words. favorite track is ain't it funny. that song is true for any woman who dealt with a man, similar to the main character in the movie. as my mother used to say "leave them alone and they'll come home, wagging their tails behind them." that's why that song speaks true to me the most. the funny part is that when they're ready to come home it's too late.

  2. When this movie first came out i looked for the soundtrack immediately, but it was to no avail....i was excited when it finally was released. The songs give me a sense of relief and they put my mind to ease. THANK YOU Tyler Perry for the movie and finally releasing the soundtrack!! Keep up the good work and i look forward to more great movies and wish you all the luck on your future endevours....

  3. Since 'Diary of a Mad Black Woman' is one of my favorite movies, I decided to order the soundtrack. However, after reading some of the negative reviews, I almost wished I hadn't. After receiving the cd, I'm so glad I didn't cancel my order. I LOVE the soundtrack! Through the highs of life and the lows of life, this soundtrack stays with you.

I'm a little stumped over the editorial review of Cheryl Riley's version of 'One of Us'. She sings the song with passion and deep insight; another lovely version of an incredible song. My favorite track on the cd is, hands down, 'Take it to Jesus' by Tamela Mann. What a powerful message about the love and grace of God! Excellent, excellent arrangement!!

While I can understand some of the other reviewers questioning why some of the artists on the cd are not the artists from the movie, this soundtrack is still very well arranged. It will not disappoint!

  4. Wow! Wow!! Wow!!! This CD is phenomenal!! You have to get it!!

  5. I bought the cd for the song "Father, can you hear me"...it is a wonderful collection of music. Get it now!

  1. I absolutely loved this CD. Every song was so powerful and inspirational. The song Better was the favorite because it says "...Count it all joy and always remember, life will get better it's gonna get better...No matter the weapon it will not prosper, things will get better it's gonna get better..." This is so true about life and everything that come along with it!!! I hope this information helps you tremendously in choosing this product. Get ready to get blessed and have a praise and dance party all at the same time!!!

  2. This album is fantastic. I use it often when at the Juvenile Detention center to minister to the young people that in God they can find hope for a better tomorrow.

  3. kirk, inspiring, soul stirring, he is amazing and his blessings are shared through his music to us all.

  4. I love this CD by Kirk Franklin, I have all of his CD's and by far this is the best. My favorite song on this album is Shout, it is a song that moves people to tears. I love the music.

  5. I just love it. I thank the Lord for it. Great shipping too.

5 comments about Songs & Prayers from Taize.

  1. Some of Taize's most beautiful and most meditative music. The lovely balance of slower and slightly more lively songs, the tonal quality of the voices and the excellent diction allows for the words of each song to be clearly understood and makes this a "must buy" no matter whether your motive is that you enjoy choral chant as an art-form or just want to relax and be peaceful.

  2. This Taize cd brings refreshment to me when I hear it. I was in Medjugorje this past Christmas. I ordered the CD because the titles were the same as those sung in Medjugorje. I wasn't disappointed. When I listen to the CD, I am reminded of the peace I experienced in Medjugorje!

  3. The Taize meditation CD has many songs sung in Latin, including the popular "Veni Sancte Spiritus". (Parenthetically, an expanded version of this song is on another excellent Taize CD "Taize: Veni Sancte Spiritus".) Each of the tracts is short with no song longer than three-and-a-half minutes. While I can guess at the Latin meanings of the lyrics, I have had to look up translations of a few of the songs. While I enjoy listening to this CD, and have purchased copies to give to others who like the Taize meditaions, it is probably my least favorite of the five CDs presently available.

  4. simple and short but very profound songs, psalms and chants from the western latin/english tradition. great for easy listening or incorporating into personal devotional or meditative prayer. the quality of the recording was not what it could be. although stylistically this would probably more familiar to Catholics i would recommend these psalms and songs for any Christians seeking to recapture more traditional and Scripture based worship venues within the modern context of their daily lives.

  5. A good recording, with strong voices, and harmonies that stir the heart to a range of emotion from delight to power, and peace. The cd comes with lyrics to inspire prayer, or to simply sing along. I am Christian, and play this recording often, and, I suspect, those who are given to things in this world belonging to love and compassion will also welcome this cd into their collection. It is music to happily build a shrine to, and in it lies the directions to a sanctuary in the heart, more peaceful than any gardens can provide.

  1. This is one of the best worship CDs I've ever heard. The DVD is excellent also.

  2. I love Hillsong United. This Cd is so awesome. One of the best of the year for me. Great worship songs, great music. All around- AWESOME.

  3. I mean, seriously? This CD got me back into Christian music. After hearing this CD I went back and got a lot of their previous albums. Great stuff. I love the mix of 'rocking out' and quiet praise. I honestly could just put this CD on in my truck and never change it.

  4. Wish I could give it a 10+ ... I had this album for over a year and it just sat around and I never really gave it a chance....don't know why but I didn't and then I finally decided to give it a chance and boy was I in for a totally unexpected suprise....once I really listened to it, it did not leave my cd player for 4 months straight. Seriously!! I listened to this CD day and night, on my way to work, at work, at home, working out... wherever I could find a place to just listen and worship. That was why I could not get enough of this CD, it makes you just want to worship and praise Jesus. It is by far the most influential and powerful worship CD I own and I own TONS of Christian albums. I cannot begin to tell you the impact this album has had on my family and friends. I have shared this album with all of my friends and it has had a tremendous impact on them as well. My kids LOVE this album. I would say this, the best songs for me start from tracks 5-10 (From The Inside Out to Fire Fall Down) and 15-17 (The Stand to Hallelujah). These are the passion and root of the album personally. You just get continous and endless praise and worship songs that you can just sing along to, lift your hands and JOYFULLY worship and adore our Creator. This album just makes you want to stop whatever it is you are doing, close your eyes and focus on Him and what He has done for us and how good He is. I have played this cd so much that it is worn out and I have to eventually buy another one. My family and I also saw them at Fellowship Church in Grapevine not too long ago and it was one of the best experiences at a concert in terms of simple worship without alot of unnecessary production. There were no fancy lights or special effects or what have you, it was just simple praise and worship I truly felt Joel Houston's love and passion for Christ and it was a very moving and powerful experience. Truly love this album, love their creativity and most importantly their love for Christ. I not only recommend this album but share it with everyone whom you come in contact with and tell them about this album.IT IS JUST THAT GOOD!!! EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS ABLUM....

  5. Simply Amazing, Annointed, Blessed, and just Good. This CD is beyond good. The best worship for this generation. I love these guys. This is a MUST buy....
