  1. With all the music out there it is hard to find unique bands. This is incredibly amplified in the Christian sector. Leeland is a breathe of fresh air to a society that lives with many lousy bands. I cannot recommend them enough.

  2. This is a very good Christian band. I recommend this to any one who likes songs with real messages about whats going on in the world today. My favorite song is "Tears of the Saints" it is really AWESOME, it makes me cry everytime I hear it.
    God Bless

  3. Leeland did a great job on this album. Usually I only like 2 or 3 songs on a cd but in this case I really like all 11 songs very much. Each one is a bit different that the other. There is one that sounds a lot like the early beatles. BUY it you will like it.

  4. this is a wonderful CD-will make you want to worship and pray! heartfelt prayerful call is the title Tears of the Saints..my husband and I love this CD!

  5. An earlier review stated a lot of CCM is filtered through too much sweetener, and I have to agree. To add, a lot of Christian pop/rock suffers from what I call "One Good Verse and Refrain Syndrome" - one strong verse, a clever refrain - then said refrain is repeated over and over.. and over. Not here. Every song, every one, sounds like it was nurtured and crafted to be the very best. I bought the album on the strength of Tears of the Saints, and though it's great, all of the songs are (the final cut, table of the lord I believe its called, is strong and emotional but could have had - maybe - one - less - verse repetition?....) Some struck me more than others, of course, but all throughout was strong song-writing, great music, and a strong message in each. The songs vary from rocker to ballads, shades of good Newsboys and Audio Adrenaline (both groups I love but which are hit or miss song to song on any given album). Wonderful, wonderful collection of tunes.

  1. Okay, so I had this cd has been on my to get list for about a month. I attend a live show featuring Jonathan Nelson and Purpose July 18, 2008. Man this Brotha has a strong ministry encouraging people. I did not mind if sang his entire debut cd. I enjoyed all of his messages of encouragement in words and songs. So I do have the cd and I am enjoying it needless to say. He sang a little old school "It Is Well With My Soul" and it was on. I am so happy the world has access to the Word and Ways of God through music, preaching and other ministries. I am looking for another appearance from Jonathan Nelson real soon! I recommend this cd to many whom just need to be encourage sometimes and uplifted. God Bless you Mr. Nelson and thanks for a job well done.
    Carlina, Celest

  2. Until today, I've never heard of Jonathan Nelson. I purchased the CD and I'm so glad I did. This young man is very gifted. I was very blessed by his CD. I look forward to future projects. Jonathan, keep praising God and Be Blessed.

  3. I purchased this CD the week it came out because I knew it was going to hit hard, and I was not disappointed! Jonathan Nelson has to be one of the best writers in the Gospel Music Industry, and it doesn't hurt that he has one of the baddest ensembles around either! Every track is killin', and the artists he has on there are just as slammin'!! Sha Simpson is a beast in Praise and Worship, Nikki Ross and Sheri Jones-Moffett are two of the last vocalists, and to top it off he decides to give me songs with substance!! What more could you ask for in Gospel Music?

  4. Jonathan was at West Angeles COGIC's Gospel Bash and he sang Victory and Right Now Praise. The songs sound as good live as they do on the CD. If you don't know him, you can check him out each Sunday on Streaming Faith at Jamal Harrison Bryant's church - Empowerment Temple. That's how I know him and why I support him even way out here in Cali. Keep praising God, Jonathan...Right NOW!

  5. I need a second listen before rating this CD. I purchased the CD because it features Purpose.

5 comments about Songs 4 Worship: Country.

  1. During one Sunday afternoon, I had the television on to CMT watching the top 20 songs when the infomercial for this album came on. While I love all of the songs, I will say that I am not crazy about all of the country updates. Overall, I would buy the album again because there are enough songs that I enjoy that would entice me to be interested in purchasing it.

  2. This CD was very disappointing. I was hoping for something I could sing along with and this was not it!

  3. I love this CD. It has the best country gospel sound of any I have.
Great to get you moving in the kitchen or to sit and listen to in silence.
Reminds me of the music from "Cowboy Church" in Nashville. Works for me.

  4. The songs on the disc are as advertised, but the sound quality was extremely poor, no, not poor, but bad.

  5. I have enjoyed listening to these familiar songs that are sung in churches every Sunday, including my own. All in all, it is a good album.

  3. This is a great Gospel CD. all should listen to it and enjoy! I listen as I am driving to work, and it helps me to prepare for the day.

  4. To GOD be the glory! I LOVE this CD! I get chills and can feel the Holy Spirit come over me as I listen to this CD. This album is by far the best. I LOVE the song "Yes". Her voice is so powerful. It will bring you to tears. You will not be disappointed buying this CD!!!

  5. Wonderful live worship. I like Shekinah Glory Ministeries music cos its always full of God's presence. The music is not too slow and not too noisy, I think it fits for majority of people.

3 comments about A Dream To Believe In, Vol. II.

  1. "A dream to believe in, Vol. 2" is the follow up to Gospel singer/songwriter Nicole C. Mullen's "Sharecropper's Seed Vol.1" which came out early 2007. While it's predecessor found her going in a more acoustic, almost Folk direction, this is edgier and more Rock oriented.

"Look like me" (with a nice catchy Na na na na refrain) is a driving rocker with lyrics touching on racism. Other upbeat songs are the catchy "Feel like I'm in love", the jubilant "Forever you reign" (a chugging rocker with lyrics of Praise and Worship to God - I love the downbeat way it ends after all that energy), the infectious "Brainwash" a Rock/Hip hop song talking about the need for our brains to be washed clean of the polluting influences of the world, and the fun "Work with me (dance)", an electronic dance number with great Tribal, Bluegrass, and Hip hop breaks that Mullen says is her workout song.

"Yo mama" is a lovely acoustic ballad with an airy lilting chorus and lyrics praising the work mothers do in our lives. "Still a dream" reminds me a bit of "On my knees" (which she co-penned for Jaci Velasquez). Other ballads are the Latin tinged "Treat her like a lady" (with lovely horns and a great guitar solo), and the tender "Start over again" (a song about having a fresh start to ones marriage instead of packing it in).

Highlight has got to be the dramatic "Blessed and broken" which starts off with different children (in different accents) stating what they would like to be when they grow up. It tells the Biblical story of the little boy whose few loaves and fish fed a multitude after having been blessed and broken by Jesus, and likens our lives to that; yielded to Jesus to be blessed and broken. Nice choir harmonies.

I think this is a very good follow up to "Sharecroppers seed", every bit as good as that effort and another deeply spiritual, touching and beautiful release from Nicole C. Mullen.

  2. Nicole C. Mullen has once again put together a worshipful and fun CD of her best. I am very pleased with this collection of music.

  3. This album is about life and love. The music is great. The vocals, well Nicole does what Nicole does. I really enjoyed this album. Look Like Me and Brainwash will get you up and moving or just get you through your drive. Feel Like I'm in Love, Treat Her Like a Lady, and Start Over Again are about the relationship between husband and wife and/or man and woman. Yo Mama is about someone who takes interest in a child that no one else does. Take a listen. You will enjoy.

  1. I ORDERED THIS PRODUCT OVER A MONTH AGO AND I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED IT!!! I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS SHIPPED 35 DAYS AGO AND I DON'T THINK THE US MAIL IS THAT SLOW!!!!!

  2. Natalie Grant's Awaken CD is reverant, strong and soulful. I'm 50 years old and I've been immensely blessed by this CD. I reccommend this CD to anyone.

  3. This is a good cd--not what I hoped for--but good. I LOVE the song, "Held"! I've listened to it about 20 times...guess you listen to what you really need at the time. She's got a very nice voice.

  4. I love this whole CD! There isn't 1 song that I dont already have memorized!

  5. I am addicted to this CD. I was wary of buying it because I only knew a few tracks and I wasn't sure I would like the rest of the CD. But after only a few sit downs with it at the office, I was like, I want to go back to that song, or the one with this line or that sound... What is so great about this CD is that the sounds are distinct. You know what song you're listening to even if it's in the background. And lyrically it is a powerful CD with tracks like "The Real Me" and "Make Me Over" that are the kind of song you listen to and wish you had written. I highly recommend this CD for anyone's collection.

  1. I absolutely loved this CD. Every song was so powerful and inspirational. The song Better was the favorite because it says "...Count it all joy and always remember, life will get better it's gonna get better...No matter the weapon it will not prosper, things will get better it's gonna get better..." This is so true about life and everything that come along with it!!! I hope this information helps you tremendously in choosing this product. Get ready to get blessed and have a praise and dance party all at the same time!!!

  2. This album is fantastic. I use it often when at the Juvenile Detention center to minister to the young people that in God they can find hope for a better tomorrow.

  3. kirk, inspiring, soul stirring, he is amazing and his blessings are shared through his music to us all.

  4. I love this CD by Kirk Franklin, I have all of his CD's and by far this is the best. My favorite song on this album is Shout, it is a song that moves people to tears. I love the music.

  5. I just love it. I thank the Lord for it. Great shipping too.

5 comments about Bless the Broken Road: The Duets Album.

  1. This CD is such a blessing. The voices are phenominal. But the messages are powerful. Really gives you something to think about. The first song is especially meaningful to me ... I have walked the broken road and God has truly blessed me despite it, because of it. God is so good and this CD is truly an expression of the rewards He has waiting for us !!!

  2. This album is so good, my brothers, sister and parents want one! Every song is thoughtful and inspiring.

  3. The nature of this CD is variety, so most of us will probably like some songs but not others. I wasn't crazy about the title track--can't really say anything bad about it, but not my style. As for the rest:

Gentle Healer: I love this song. I'm a huge Michael Card fan and this remake is a beautiful tribute to the original.

Glory: AWESOME, probably my favorite song on the CD. I can't listen to this song without raising my hands to the heavens. Nichole Nordeman has outdone herself.

I Will Sing of My Redeemer: I like it, but promptly forget about it when it's over.

Follow Jesus: Same as above. I can't really hear the lyrics half the time because of the way it was produced. Fun to listen to but I don't get much out of it.

Mary Sweet Mary: I expected to love this song because I'm a Plum fan, and I love Christmas music. But I'm not crazy about putting all the focus on Mary. It was just okay, in my opinion.

All My Tears and Ain't No Grave: I LOVE these songs! I want them played at my funeral, and I'll be looking down from above to see everybody dance!

Be Thou Near to Me: Very nice.

Faithful One: Beautiful. Speaks to me of faithfulness that endures not only for a lifetime, but throughout the ages.

Sweet Jesus: Beautiful and intimate worship.

Softly and Tenderly: Only these two could perform this song in a way that's so intensely earnest without being manipulative. I've heard (and sung) this song a million times but never heard it like this--great job.

  4. This was my first introduction to Selah, and I am so-o-o happy I purchased this CD! Very poignant lyrics and beautiful music. My favorites are Gentle Healer and Glory, but really the whole CD is just wonderful. You won't be disappointed.

  5. I will probably always be one to recommend a Selah album, because I grew up in a church visited yearly by Nicol and Todd's parents, Congo missionaries Jim and Nancy Smith and used to hear the whole family sing way back when (in fact, I think my parents have an old record of hymns the family put out years ago!). That being said, this album is amazing! I've been listening to it over and over the last couple of weeks, hearing new layers every time. I love beautifully written lyrics - the mix of these classics with the voices of the Selah members and their duet partners is matchless.

At first listen, "Bless the Broken Road" stood out as my favorite, but then I listened more closely to "All My Tears," which I'd surprisingly never heard before. Now it stands out as my favorite on the album, esp. with Kim Hill's folksy sound, and one of my favorite songs ever.

Completely a stand-out album - so much depth and breadth.

Oh - and for those that didn't know, Nicol stepped out to raise her family and support her husband at Moody Bible Institute's grad school. She's worked some on solo stuff, too.

5 comments about Greatest Hymns.

  1. I love Selah and their voices. I was disappointed in some of the arrangements of these hymms. They are wonderful hymms but for my tastes some of them were too jazzed up. I would have liked better to hear the beautiful voices of Salah singing the hymms in a more traditional way!!
    thank you

  2. Powerful voices with such deep reverence; amazing renditions of ageless hymns that comfort the soul.

  3. Wonderful CD filled with great harmony. The Hymns have been very refreshing to listen to. Not over done but put together just right.

  4. For me, this was the perfect blend of traditional hymns with interesting musical spins put on them. I especially love the blues-tinged version of Amazing Grace and the African pieces.

I think there's something very likeable and strong about the group -- I just discovered them from a piece on a WOW Worship CD and really enjoy them. Their voices are really good, the piano is great, and I love the harmonies. Their music definitely touches me.

It sounds as though the original trio has partially disbanded. I hope they all get back together and make lots more CDs. I think they're terrific.

  5. I spent quite a bit of money before finding a Christian CD that I really liked. This one is exactly what I was looking for. Every song is as beautiful as the one before it, and they all give you a wonderful feeling inside.
