1. "Wherever You are" is another move upward by 3rd Day, progressively towards perfection. From the very first song, "Light at the end of the Tunnel" provides the opening msg for the entire album. All songs are powerfully written and performed, with "Cry out to Jesus" the most radio-popular, but every song is intense with honesty ('Who do you think you are': warning to religiosity and pious minded super-imposers who attempt to negatively influence people)and doctrine:"Communion". This is Through and Through Third Day's Best effort, and far outshines most Contemporary Christian artists today, with the only comparable challenge being David Crowder.



2. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with inspirational songs, it's just that it can be overdone to the point where you're like, I'm not inspired. Eventually if you do it too much, you've lost your purpose. That's what happened here. If "Cry Out To Jesus" was the only inspirational song on here, there wouldn't be a problem. But instead, those type of song had to be the theme of the album, which isn't bad, it just couldve been done better. "Tunnel" and "Mountain of God" regardless of lyrics, are very poorly executed songs, and quickly shoot themselves near the top of the list for worst radio singles of the year.
   
   These songs, and songs like them sink the album to one of the worst of 2006. Sorry Third Day, your last album was a whole lot better. Better luck next time. Inspirational is good, but very boring if overdone.



3. As someone who has hit a rough time in their life when my daughter became very ill, this album has a special place in my heart. It was a dark and scary time and this album was one of my son's favorites at that time. It would play bringing him back and forth to school and it always seemed to reach me when I needed encouragement or began to feel lost. I actually found myself in tears at times. I have read a review that it was too "lyrically simple". Maybe you have to have gone through a time like this, but overly complicted would not have reached me to be quite frank. I am going to send this CD to a friend with a child in the pediatric ICU. I think it will encourage her and her husband too. I also found it a good work musically and I have really enjoyed listening to it. Everyone likes differant styles of music, but it is a solid album!



4. Love it!!! Awesome CD, a great blessing and you will love it too! All their best songs in one CD. Can't beat that! This is the second CD I have brought of Third day already. Great blessing!



5. This is a great album with great theology. It has catchy tunes and lyrics. It's a bit more "main stream" than I am used to with Third Day, but a great album nonetheless.

1. These are great songs to listen to. Be aware, that these do not appear to be the original artists.



2. This CD has all my favorite praise songs all on one CD. Some of the arrangements are better than others but overall, this was a terrific buy.



3. good praise song cd. it wasn't the typical maranatha, huge band, couldn't hear the words cd. i could actually hear the words and the songs were performed in a great mellow style.



4. Easy purchase songs were online to make sure the CD was what I was looking for. Fast delivery. Very satisfied.



5. This CD is filled with the songs that are sung in the contemporary church. Listening to it is a very uplifting experience. I just wish the singing was a little better, but it doesn't matter much since I am singing right along with them.

5 comments about How Great Thou Art: Gospel Favorites Live from the Grand Ole Opry.

1. This is a wonderful compilation of gospel songs. They are definitely old favorites and I am so glad they were finally put together with some wonderful singers on one CD! Brings back a lot of memories for me.



2. hymns by grand ole opry members, what better music could you asked for? All perfomrmances were fantasic, especially Dierks Bentley's



3. I like most of this CD. As could be expected, since it's from the Grand Ole Opry, some of the songs lean toward bluegrass and some are a little more hardcore country. Vince Gill and Carrie Underwood are the standouts. I also recommend the How Great Thou Art CD by the Gaithers. Amazon accidentally sent that to me on my first order, but when I saw it, I decided to keep it and reorder this one. They are both worth having.



4. I did not get to enjoy this as it was a gift for a friend but she
   liked it very much.



5. Trace Adkins track is fantastic as always and the other male singers do well, however, the female singers didn't sound that great.

1. I absolutely loved this CD. Every song was so powerful and inspirational. The song Better was the favorite because it says "...Count it all joy and always remember, life will get better it's gonna get better...No matter the weapon it will not prosper, things will get better it's gonna get better..." This is so true about life and everything that come along with it!!! I hope this information helps you tremendously in choosing this product. Get ready to get blessed and have a praise and dance party all at the same time!!!



2. This album is fantastic. I use it often when at the Juvenile Detention center to minister to the young people that in God they can find hope for a better tomorrow.

4. I love this CD by Kirk Franklin, I have all of his CD's and by far this is the best. My favorite song on this album is Shout, it is a song that moves people to tears. I love the music.

1. The Lead me on Anniversary Edt. is a great CD..especially the BONUS CD with the LIVE Tracks from the 1989 Tour and the Accoustic recordings are a blast to listen.
   I hope Amy will do many many new songs..she has such an heart-warming voice, the lyrics are so real, positive and it was fun listening to her in the 80's in the 90's and also in 2008.



2. I remember purchasing my original copy of Lead Me On 20 years ago! This special edition sounds great and I love the acoustic versions of some of the classic recordings from this CD. Any Amy fan must have this anniversary edition in their collection!



3. You have to understand that Amy Grant's musical style, prior to 'Lead Me On' were VERY upbeat, sweet, contemporary christian. She was, after all, a teen-aged evangelical. This album, however, marked a change. Now, we hear about her struggle... her history... her maturing faith. There are even some selections where she DOESN'T mention God! A very honest, lean album full of heart-felt, more mature songs. Great album.



4. As a long time Amy fan (yeah I remember her on vinyl)I can say this is definitely an essential addition to any Amy collection. I cannot believe it's been 20 years, can any of you? I love disc two...a very intimate listen. I haven't heard those live recordings since the Lead Me On tour, and what a FUN tour that was. Amy-keep on making music...you are still an important singer/songwriter and we all would like to keep listening to what is on your heart and mind. Beautiful recordings. A MUST have!



5. As a huge Amy Grant fan, I am so excited this came out. The remaster on the tracks is amazing. The bonus disk has some interviews, as well as live concert tracks. Lead Me On is probably my favorite Amy CD of all time. My only complaint- the remakes of a few songs on the bonus track. They are acoustic sets, and I feel like they changed the songs too much. I wish they had kept them similar to the originals. This is a CD you HAVE to own if you are an Amy fan!

2. A great story based on true life events. I first saw this movie over 30 years ago and now after 30 years I got to share it with my kids. A great true life story about a true life GOD!
   Get it!



3. This film is so powerful - prepare to be deeply moved! Real life account of David Wilkerson, preacher to the gangs who meets up with Nicky Cruz - warlord of one of the worst gangs who terrorized the streets of New York.
   You can tell it was filmed on a low budget, but this doesn't detract from the film.
   Emotions of characters range from fear, guilt, anger, bitterness, hate, rage to forgiveness & a love that overcomes it all.
   
   Special features include a look at David Wilkerson's work today on the streets, featuring some of the projects that have been set up.
   
   A film that will inspire & challenge!

4. The acting was great. I don't remember Pat Boone being such a good actor, but he was terrific in this as was Eric Estrada and everyone really. The scenery was so realistic and helped to convey the desperation of the gang members' and junkies' lives. It is hard to put a great book on film and capture it's essence, especially for a true story. I think this one did a fantastic job. Riveting throughout.
   
   Having been curious to read the book again,a fter seeing the movie, I hasten to add that a lot was left out. The basic idea is intact, and, again, they did a great job in the short time a movie takes. But if you want to learn more and be even more blessed, ya gotta read the book.



5. I realize that this a true story, but they could have tried to keep it as Christian as possible. I watched this with my family and was greatly dissapointed. This has some bad language, bad music, and lacks modesty in areas. Glad Nicky and others turned to christ.

4. I am giving this one 5 stars soley because Everything Impossible is the best song I have heard in so long. I can't stop listening to it. Wow. This could have been a huge hit, in my opinion. It's better than anything on the radio today. It puts me in mind, sort of, of Maroon 5. Elsewhere, Homesick will hit home with anyone who have lost a loved one. This is one gorgeous song. A Million Miles Away another fave, almost as good as Everything Impossible. Never Alone, Where You Lead Me, and Here With Me all have melodies that get stuck in your head and are impossible to get out. This band needs to be recognized not just in the CCM market, but in the top 40 also. It's like if Maroon 5 and Nickelback were cloned and merged into one band, and sent to Catholic school, you'd get Mercyme.



5. i think this album is great. i was reading alot of the other reviews and just had to write in response to some of them. i know we all hear music differently. some people seem to listen and hear mainly lyrics. i always hear the melody and the mix of the instuments. the lyrics for me are a bonus. with many of mercyme songs a huge bonus. now, that being said, not every song can be a hit. some of the other reviewers seem to think that every song should be a number one hit. that would be called selling out. let these bands write and perform from their hearts. there is a song on this cd entitled HERE WITH ME. the music in that song is as good as it gets. the chord structure is awesome. and when you add the extremely well thought out and meaningful lyrics to the music, you have a masterpiece, and that's what that song is to me. i couldn't believe that not one person mentioned this song in any of the reviews until the very last review which actually was the first. mike mcallister had mentioned that HERE WITH ME was his favorite song on the cd. i guess mike and i have something in common. thanks mike, maybe some day we can talk. as far as mercyme goes, i would highly recommend any and everything this band puts out. i feel bad for the people who will never experience bands like this. we are extremely lucky to experience MERCYME. also, the live dvd is a must have.

3. The CD is pretty good. I mean, if you've seen Sister Act II and you like the music, then you'll love the CD.
   
   MY ONLY BEEF IS... I searched literally for HOURS trying to just buy a single from this CD, "Oh Happy Day." It is NOT on iTunes or anywhere else on the internet. If someone can find it, please let me know. There is some false advertising out there from other websites who SAY they have it, but when you go to purchase it, they make you buy the whole friggin CD. Grr.
   
   But yes, if you're looking for the whole CD, it's fine. Lauryn Hill was in her prime back then. I wish she'd do a gospel CD. Her voice was created for that style!



4. I remember when this movie first came out. My brother rented it and let me watch with him. I watched it like 2 more times before he had to take it back. I then bought the movie and it is still one of my favorite movies today. I like the movie soo much because of the music. I had the soundtrack on a cassette tape and I use to listen to it all the time in my portable tape player (that seems like ages ago) and I'm only 21! Lol! Anyways this is a great album to listen to...especially when you love to sing like I do!!



5. I saw this movie a long time ago and loved it. The CD Soundtrack has great inspirational songs from the film and when I got it, I was so happy to sing along with it.
