5 comments about Hello Kitty Goes to the Movies.
- My girls have been asking for a Hello Kitty show for a while and I finally broke down and ordered these titles (Fairy Tales, Princess, Movies). The stories are very cute. The animation so-so. But when these go on, even my 8 year old son will pop in to watch. The episodes are based on classic tales that are "kitty-fied" with nothing violent or scary.
- Okay - I am fairly new with the Hello Kitty series, but being that I have a 3 year old daughter, I am getting indoctrinated. This DVD is really cute and very funny because it contains Hello Kitty take-offs of very popular movies. My 5 year old son enjoys it as well - and it is not hard to watch (unlike some sappy princess things.) If you have to go with a Hello Kitty, and there may be a boy involved in watching, this one is decent.
- The cartoons are from the 1980's Hello Kitty tv series "Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater," which are variations on popular fairy tales/movies. They feature Hello Kitty, My Melody, Tuxedo Sam, Chip, Catnip & Grinder, who are actors in the theatre.
Each DVD contains 5 fairy tales, and each fairy tale is about 10 minutes long and has its own unique take on the familiar stories. They are also changed to be less violent, nicer and more suited for children (water balloon fights instead of guns).
The quality of the DVD's are more like TV broadcast quality and this is the reason I've given it 4 stars instead of 5. I think they could've enhanced the quality before putting it onto DVD. It is also not recorded in stereo sound. I already owned the 2 Furry Tale Theater VHS's (Kitty and the Beast, The Wizard of Paws), so I already knew what to expect.
I'm an adult Sanrio collector and I loved seeing these episodes, and I would feel good about letting my children see these too.
The following is the list of the episodes in this DVD:
"Hello Kitty Goes to the Movies" has The Wizard of Paws, K.T. the Kitty Terrestial, Kitty and the Kong, Cat Wars, and Paws- the Great White Dog-Shark.
If you are also a fan of Star Wars and the other movies parodied, then this is the DVD for you!
- I loved this movie, this was a awesome movie that i really enjoy, i cant believe that anyone would ever pass up the opportunity to not my this movie. I started watching hello kitty movies at the small age of 2, but even now as i am turning 17 i still really enjoy these cassettes. I even bought a car with a video screen so i can watch them between classes. They are also really popular in school. My high school even has hello kitty clubs. We run around pretending to be the character and persuading others to join. In our club, which i proudly started we have a greand total of 2 people. Me and my friend hello kitty. well i guess to most people we only have 1 person, but in spirit,i know there r 2 of us.
- I bought "Hello Kitty Goes to the Movies" and "Hello Kitty's Paradise - Pretty Kitty". Myself, I like "Hello Kitty Goes to the Movies" very much and all my kids just adore it. I have twins (boy and a girl) 3 year old and 7 year old daughter.
It is very enjoyable to watch. My kids ask for it over and over again. It is one of their favorites. And I wish I never bought "Hello Kitty's Paradise - Pretty Kitty". (...)

5 comments about When in Rome.
- olsens i still love you but this film stinks , you were the best part!!!!
love,babyface
- I saw this movie on T.V. one day and thought it was pretty good. It's fun and romantic like always. Cute Olsen twins fall in love again, only this time in Rome. Great footage of Rome itself. Great movie for sleepovers or group watching.
- This Movie Was Extremely Cheesy Movie. Not very good acting. Dissapointed. Not a good movie. The olsen twins other movies are good. I recommend Double double toil and trouble.
- I am a BIG Olsen fan and love their movies, but this one-boring. I wached like 15 minutes of it and just turned it off. I only paed attention in that 15 minutes for only 5 minutes. No plot at all. And in the commercials-a frickin Scooby-Doo advertisment! With all those MKAA advertisments! yikes. I am GLAD we got it at the dollar store for $1 !!!!
- In this movie, The Olsen twins are name Charlie and Lola... (Blah. The director must watch Playhouse Disney.)
Here are my likes and hates
HATES
*They're stupid "Like, Oh My Gawd! Ohmigosh!
Like, what a hottie you are." talk they speak through the whole film.....
* The director: Naming them stupid names and forcing the Olsens to talk like that.
LIKES
*When a pigeon pooped on Lola, and she said "Oh, I hope my cutie boyfriend didn't see that!"
* When this junk ENDED!

5 comments about Bert & Ernie's Greatest Hits.
- I'm going to admit that I actually sing along with Bert and Ernie in the car. I almost like it more than my son does.
- Both of my children (7 and 2 1/2) love this CD. Lots of classics. Great to sing along to in the car.
- These are the same songs I sang with my now 30 year old daughter and her son loves them too. "Pat Pat Patty Pat" is great for a 10 month old and older to try the motions and develop coordination.
- This is a must-have for parents who grew up with these songs, and can now share them with their kids! My 10-month old son lights up as soon as he hears "Rubber Duckie" or "Pat Pat Patty Pat". Not a bad song on this disc.
- My twin 2 1/2-year-old boys are really into Sesame Street right now, and we picked up this CD used at Hastings. It was definitely worth the money! The Pat-Pat-Patty-Pat song is hilarious. There are hand motions to go with it (pat your tummy, wiggle your finger, shake your leg). My boys have to hear this song every time they go to bed. It is histerical hearing them trying to say "wiggle wiggle".

5 comments about Songs to Grow on for Mother and Child.
- I originally purchased Songs to Grow on when my daughter was born . . . way back in 1978. I continue to sing many of those songs to her today. "Grass, grass, grass, tree, tree, tree, leafy, leafy leaf, 1-2-3." I purchased three CDs so I could give them to my grand-nephew, grand-niece, and soon to be grand-daughter. The songs are not your typical children's songs, but they are much fun to sing and the kids love 'em!
- My brother and sister-in-L are expecting twins in the UK and asked me to send this to them so that they can learn some of the tunes before the babies arrive. I was curious, so bought an extra copy for my music loving children (2 year old and 5 month old). My bro, as usual, was spot on. The CD is top notch with wonderful songs that we all love to listen to over and over again, both my children respond to it as do all my friends who I have given this to as a shower gift.
- "Songs to Grow on for Mother and Child" is aptly titled. The first listen disappointed me sorely. The second pass through wasn't much more satisfying. Now, I love it.
Sometime between "Did I waste my money?" and now, I crossed the barrier to "Hey, hey, hey/Little Sack of Sugar/Ho! Ho! Ho!/Little sack of sweet." At first you will tolerate the songs, but in time, you'll catch yourself, as I have, humming the tune, mumbling the lyrics under your breath. Other songs, like "Swimmy Swim" will sneak into your heart. So will "I want My Milk (I Want it Now)."
Woody Guthrie's relaxed rural voice does his songs justice. These aren't "This Land is My Land" songs with the flavor of patriotic pride. These are children's songs with a folk-tint. Guthrie set out to write children's songs and accomplished that. They sound as if Woody himself took a recorder out to his porch some sunny Saturday and sang to his own children.
Fans of "The Wheel on the Bus" will love the repeating lyrics, and the simple music behind the songs. In fact, in many of the songs, like "I'll Eat You, Ill Drink You" have only a soft drum. It could just as well be a cardboard box he is strumming. Any parent will find singing these as afternoon a cappella playtime songs comfortable.
I fully recommend "Songs to Grow on for Mother and Child."

- I grew up with this album, and have long wished I could get another copy - am I ever glad to see it back! I loved these songs as a child, and still remember them after 30+ years! They're fun to sing to, and even the youngest kids can pick up on their words and sing-song melodies, while they also remain fun for adults, time and time again. Not dated at all - they're absolutely timeless. And great for road trips! I can't wait to share these songs with my kids.
- I was looking for fun songs to sing with my 7 month old, and was tired of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I igonored the "4-6 year old" recommendation on this, and I am so glad! My baby loves to listen to this, and we dance and sing along. The songs are easy to learn and fun to sing, with a beat that he can bounce to. When we dance to "I want my bottle" he laughs and laughs! I totally recommend this!

5 comments about Sesame Street: All-Star Alphabet.
- I rate this DVD a five because it has served it's purpose for my child. She will be two years old (on September 29, 2007) and she has known her alphabet since she was 20 months, thanks to ALL STAR ALPHABET. Yes, the music is corny at first, but after hearing the songs everyday I found myself singing right along with her. If you show intrest in the DVD, then so will your child. Everyone is amazed at how my daughter can identify EVERY letter of the alphabet on our refrigerator or when we write it on paper. I would recommend this item to anyone who wants a smart baby like mine ;-)
- We love this DVD (my wife and I) - and we are buying it again because we lost it moving to Europe. Our son really loves it - and the songs are really good. This is not an annoying Barney tape. We can all listen to this one w/o going crazy. 5 stars all the way.
- i bought this for my two year old baby, but she gets bored with it maybe because she is not familiar with the songs and people here like norah jones or any other artists so she doesn't like this and its hard for her to watch movie like this with lots of adult artists singing their popular songs and yet those songs obviously are not popular for the kids...
- My son can't get enough. He watches this over and over. We sing the songs and have a good time with the letters. I am glad I brought this dvd it's the best thing since Brainy baby...
- I was also surprised by the poor reviews - both my two year old and one year old are riveted, which is fortunate as it's one of the only children's videos that doesn't make me want to gouge out my own eardrums. I will say that for actually learning the alphabet I think the Leapfrog Letter Factory is better, but there again you have the super annoying Professor Quigely - who I must say is no Stephen Colbert.

2 comments about Bob the Builder - Scoop's Favorite Adventures.
- I ordered this video because it said it came with a toy scoop. It didn't! It's just a video. This is the first time I've not gotten what I ordered! I still gave a good review because the video is great!
- This one is definitely a keeper! We checked this one out of the library and will have to get it here on amazon. It really teaches great things to kids such as not playing tricks on folks that could cause them harm. Poor Lofty is knocked over on his side when Spud plays a trick on him and has a difficult time getting up. Scoop is put in charge in another episode and finds it hard to control the unruly Muck at times. He gets the job done but feels badly when he thinks he did a bad job. Bob corrects him and tells him that he did a great job but that accidents can happen. Pilchard is rescued from a fallen tree which is quite interesting. It really shows how caring that everyone is in the show and shows kids to help out whenever someone is in trouble.
This is a great video, one to be watched over and over again like in our household!

5 comments about Classic Disney, Vol. 1: 60 Years of Musical Magic.
- The CD arrived in good time and was of excellent quality for a used product.
- This CD is a wonderful collection of some 25(!) of the most beloved Disney hits. Indeed, the songs on this CD are all songs from the great Disney movies that you remember from your childhood. There's "Someday My Prince Will Come" from Snow White, "Colonel Hathi's March" from the Jungle Book, and "Chim Chim Cher-ee" from Mary Poppins. What's also wonderful is that the hits are from the great Disney movies right up to the present, with such songs as "Beauty and the Beast" from the movie of the same title.
My whole family loves these songs, and often sings along with them. As a wonderful bonus, we were not aware of "Minnie's Yoo Hoo!" which sounds like a 1920s, snappy little tune, and my children often play it twice and even three times in a row.
Buy this CD you won't regret it!
- I purchased this to keep my kids occupied on vacation, and it performed beautifully! I can recommend it fully.
- I have all 5 CD's and it is an awesome collection! All of my favorite songs are on the 5 CD's and every Disney fan like I am should have this collection!
- There isn't one single song from the 1977 classic "The Rescuers" included in this collection, I don't see why Disney chose not to include any of those songs which are all gorgeous, when they did include unmemorable and weak songs instead, I've seen these CD's with songs that aren't half as good as "Tomorrow is Another Day," "The Journey," "Someone's Waiting for You" or "Rescue Aid Society."
Very disappointing, The Rescuers is a fine Disney classic and it should be included with all of the others.
