1 comments about Scary Godmother: The Revenge of Jimmy.

  1. Happy Halloween Amazon customers. This movie is great. My friends and I love the movie and always like to copy parts (like Skully having money in his "other pelvis"). Our favorite part was where Harry loses his signature shirt and even though they censor it you clearly see his body. I think Bert, Darrel, Katie, Hannah, and Jimmy have new voice actors. So I like both but this one much more. They both run for about an hour or so and the price is worth it.

5 comments about Kids' Ten Commandments: The Complete Collection.

  1. These are great animated videos that teach what it means to keep the ten commandments of the Bible with real life situations. Very well done animation. Highly recommend for preschool and elementary age children.

  2. These are awesome videos, my youngest, age 3, thinks they are great. They help build the basics of morals and good desicions. Do Not Lie, and the story for this on the video, is so great and understandable.

  3. This collection of stories has taken on the challeng of helping kids understand not only the meaning of the commandments but also the time frame and lifestyles of the people at that period. They have done a great job illustrating the relationship of Moses to the people of Isreal as well.

Both my preschool and grade school age children were rivited through the entire series. I expect many repeatative viewings of these program and great discussion from them.

Great Job K10C! I would like to see you take on the stories of the Judges time period as well.

  4. Wow!!!! Since the commandments had been taken out of schools and public places, it is a delight to know there are ways to bring the laws of God to the hearts of the children. My family finds them a delight to watch. It reminds the children to keep Gods Laws in their heart. I loved every moment of them

    Thank you

  5. I knew this was a great series after reading some of the comments by Josh McDowell and other famous Christian writers. I was concerned about video-quality on a Hi-Definition set yet once I started the first DVD I was relieved. This set would probably be a great homeschooling tool for parents who want to introduce their kids to the fundamentals of God's Law.
The downside is the shortness of the episodes. All 5 (a little over 20 minutes each) should have easily fit on one single DVD instead of 5. But then the price would have been lower and what's good for the consumer may not be good for the studio.

2 comments about Hermie & Friends: Milo the Mantis Who Wouldnt Pray.

  1. My 4 month old and 5 year old love all the Hermie videos. It's nice that I can put on something and not worry about what they are learning!

  2. Milo the Mantis who Wouldn't Pray is another great installment in the Hermie and Firends franchise. An excellent cast of talent, animators, producers, writers, and the actors of course. Very well done.

This video addresses prayer and does a good job of letting kids know that God doesn't always respond in a way we might expect, nor is there any special method to get close to God no matter what we do in our own power. My son (age 4 - wants to give this video 100 stars.) I like that the Hermie and Friends video open up dialogue with young hearts and get them interested in the Bible.

5 comments about LazyTown - Surprise Santa.

  1. My daughter is 4 years old and loves this show here in the UK. She was desperate for her own DVD to watch so I bought this for her. She absolutely loves it and sings to all the songs. I think it's a great show for kids, even my 9 years old thinks it's great. Their favourite character is Stephanie and mine is Robbie Rotten. It has catchy tunes and even makes me laugh sometimes.

The only strange thing is that the voices are different in the UK. My daughter was watching it and said that the television had gone wrong and that the voices of Ziggy, Trixie, Pixel and Stingy were odd. Same thing happened on The Backyardigans. Not that's it's stopped her from watching it 400 times.

    Go buy it!

  2. This is the second DVD released with episodes from the popular show "Lazytown", with its leading human characters Sportacus (Magnús Scheving), Stephanie (Julianna Rose Mauriello) and that adorable villain Robbie Rotten (Stefán Karl Stefánsson). A favorite with kids from the USA, UK and homeland Iceland, the popularity can be measured by the fact that "Sportacus" and "Stephanie" costumes have been sold out for months due to heavy demand.

Just ask the rapidly growing young audience about the benefits of sports candy, exercise and healthy habits and you'll begin to understand the positive influence exerted by this over-the-top, energy driven, annoyingly cheerful show.

This DVD has four episodes - the first being the Surprise Santa, where Robby almost gets a heart during the Christmas season; the second involving an alien and a space ship (which scared my four year old at first); the third about having good manners (and how not to walk in high heels), and the last about saving the town from earning the title of "Laziest Town on Earth".

Highly recommended for kids and aerobics fans everywhere.

    Amanda Richards, January 1, 2006

  3. Surprise Santa is a great DVD featuring four episodes, including one for Christmas. Created by Icelandic aerobic champion and entrepeneur Magnus Scheving (who plays Sportacus), LazyTown is a show promoting healthy living and cooperation.

LazyTown's Surprise Santa - It's Christmas Day in LazyTown! To celebrate, the kids are having a holiday party. But Robbie Rotten believes he didn't get an invitation, and that leaves him feeling extra rotten. So Robbie disguises himself as Santa, with plans to ruin Christmas for everyone via a huge snowball! Robbie Rotten really steals the show in this episode, especially with his hilarious rendition of a song called "Why It's Great to Be Bad". (My husband and I laugh every time we see this episode!)

Ziggy's Alien - Robbie tries to scare the kids with his latest disguise, a space alien. Instead of being afraid, they befriend him and try to return him to his home planet--with Ziggy along for the ride!

Miss Roberta - Stephanie is throwing a party. But the last time she did so, the kids were wild! To avoid a repeat of their poor behavior, "Miss Roberta" offers to teach the kids manners. Something smells rotten here...

The Laziest Town - Accordig to the town's energy meter, the energy in town is down to zero. If things don't change fast, LazyTown will be named the laziest town on earth!

This DVD is 103 minutes long and filled with the characteristic shenanigans of Robbie Rotten, heroism of Sportacus, and crazy adventures of townspeople like the Mayor, Pixel, Ziggy the sugar-holic, Stingy, etc. As always, Sportacus and the show LazyTown encourages healthy eating, exercise, and kindness--and features great up-tempo songs, too!

A very comical, witty DVD that's great for Christmas--or anytime! My husband, 7 year old son, and I love this DVD!

  4. And I'm quite happy for it.

The title episode, which is also a DVD premiere because it hasn't been shown on Nick Jr. yet, is "LazyTown's Surprise Santa", which is a very good episode. It's fun to watch, and the songs are great. They also remixed Bing Bang and the title theme into a Christmas rendition, which I found quite amusing. However, this episode doesn't have any blatant morals, such as "BRUSH YOUR TEETH" or "DON'T BE GREEDY"; it's more of a subtle "love everyone" kind of thing. I rather enjoy that. And the giant snowball was awesome.

The second episode, also a DVD premiere, is "Ziggy's Alien", which I admit I haven't seen yet. But the song in it, Galaxy, is one of my favorites, which bodes well for the rest of the episode.

The third episode shown, "Miss Roberta", is a very fun episode, and not just because Robbie Rotten crossdresses as an old lady. We get a repeat of "Cooking by the Book" in this episode, as well as a couple verses of "Dancing" if I remember correctly. My hands-down favorite moment in LazyTown is in this episode, a comical exchange between Stingy and Miss Roberta. "Is there a hidden camera somewhere?" Stingy's expressions during this just make it a priceless moment. And of course, the infamous quote train:

    Stephanie: "She's running away!"
    Trixie: "With a book!"
    Stingy: "And a bush!"
    Pixel: "On her head!"

The last episode, "The Laziest Town", is my hands-down least favorite episode. OH MY GOSH THE ENERGY METER IS DOWN TO ZERO AND WE'RE GONNA BE THE LAZIEST TOWN IN THE COUNTRY. Seriously, they move about all the time; and this energy meter thing isn't even based on an average. It's based on a "how-many-citizens-are-moving-at-this-given-moment" type thing. And although they get Bessie moving in an "everyone can help if they try" way, I still end up falling asleep at this episode.

In the summer of 2005, they had this energy summer LazyTown thing where Stephanie, speaking to you through the TV, would use the energy meter to get you up and moving. I think that "The Laziest Town" was created simply to promote this, because it lacks any sort of originality I'm used to in LazyTown.

Other than that one blunder, though, this is a DVD you really don't want to miss. "Ziggy's Alien" and "Miss Roberta" alone make this DVD a must-have.

  5. Magnus Scheving, creator of LazyTown, brings yet another exclusive DVD to the stores. This one deals with 2-exclusive episodes never before aired or seen (LazyTown's Surprise Santa; Ziggy's Alien), and also two bonus episodes (Miss Roberta; The Laziest Town) are on the disc as well. With the cast of Stephanie (Mauriello), Sportacus (Scheving), Robbie Rotten (Karl) and the rest of the cast of L.T., they bring more lessons and important info to the children, but also the adults. I love this show, and I hope that it continues to do as well as it is. Being one of the top shows in the world, who wouldn't want to watch.

2 comments about Mister Rogers' Neighborhood - A Day at the Circus.

  1. When Fred Rogers passed away in 2003, I was surprised by the welling up of emotion I felt... I had, of course, watched him on TV when I was little and alwys liked him, although I intuitively knew the show was a bit babyish... Then, when "Sesame Street" came along, I switched my allegiance... I wanted to watch the more "grown-up" show...:-) but I always felt a lingering fondness for Mr. Rogers, and while an increasingly cynical popular culture made fun of his doting sweetness, I never did.

Now, a parent with a child of my own, in search of non-disturbing entertainment that won't insult the intelligence of a little kid, I've come back to Mister Rogers' neighborhood, and it feels like home. Sadly, amazingly, inexplicably, there are only three DVDs of Mister Rogers material to be found(!) and they are all from his later years, when his hair was grey and he tended to drop things a lot... But the sweetness, the sincerity, the earnest desire to make the world a better place still comes through loud and clear. Mister Rogers is a comforting presence, and his Land of Make Believe is still as magical as ever: we were hooked. It's a pity you can't see all the old stuff, too -- I imagine in a few years it will all be available online as downloads, but I'm sad that we will have to miss it, when the time is so right. Oh, well.

Anyway, these DVD editions are nice, although they do have their quirks. "A Day At The Circus" is one of the best because it has two stand-alone episodes, one about visiting the circus and another about making music. The footage of live animals and chats with various circus performers is nice, and as ever Mr. Rogers aims at making life easier for the littlest people: one of the messages he gives them is that it's okay to want to leave the circus if you feel you've "had enough", and that it's okay to say so to your parents.

The other discs are wonderful, too, though a little more problematic in that they tell whole stories, but in a fractured fashion. As longtime viewers will know, Mr. Rogers would continue plotlines from day to day, so that a story might begin on Monday but not be resolved until Friday... So for example, in one storyline two Make Believe characters get in a fight, but the resolution comes several days later. All very well and fine, except that there are only two episodes on each disc, so we see the beginning, and get the set-up, but when the next episode comes up there are references fto all many events that happened in the interim -- the lesson is still learned, but the gap in the narrative is disconcerting, and shows a surprising lack of respect for the audience. Nonetheless, this was a wonderful show, and if these discs are the only material available to households that do not watch "real" TV, they are still certainly worth watching. Hopefully the folks at Anchor Bay (Rogers' company) will open the vaults soon, and more Make Believe magic will be available again.

  2. Now you can bring a little bit of Mister Rogers Neighborhood home with you into your very own neighborhood.

My niece turns four this month and I look forward to giving her this and the Mister Rogers- 'Adventures in Friendship' DVD. I know she is going to love it as much as I remember loving this show. Her mother and I would watch it everyday. I have such great memories associated with this show. What a pleasure it will be to create some new ones with my new niece!

Filled to the brim with positive reinforcement and educational material taught at a slow pace so children can absorb it, Mister Rogers, remains after 30 years on PBS one of the best possible educational shows on television. Mister Rogers makes every child feel special and loved while helping them learn the moral lessons that are missing in so much current children's programming.

  1. My son loves Pocoyo; however, due to his speech delay, his therapist suggested he only watch tv programs in Spanish. I bought this DVD hoping it included Spanish language but it didn't. Other than that, Pocoyo is awesome!

  2. Pocoyo is the most fantastic visual and learning environmnent for young children under 1 year old. It has a white background with very bright colour characters and good patterns of behaviour and language learning.

It revolves around the baby Pocoyo, (Ms) Elly the pink Elephant, Loula the Dog, the always-cool Pato the duck, and sleepy bird.

The hallmark of any good children's product is being able to appeal to the adults. This is amusing enough that you will enjoy watching it with your child, even the 10th time. Enjoy!

But get the English series one disc instead - its 91 minutes and better value for money.

  3. It was an excellent investment since my kid learns from Pocoyo and these cartoons are educational and cute as well.

  4. I love Pocoyo's freind Elly my son loves the duck - we both LOVE the show!

  5. This show is adorable!
I bought this show on a whim for my preschooler, and I am so glad I did!
It's so darned cute, FUNNY, educational, and I think I love it as much as the kids do.
Try Hopla if you like this- that's another new one we tried. We like Hopla too!
    I highly recommend Pocoyo!

4 comments about Bounce: Routines!.

  1. I hit the jackpot when I purchased this video. One of my grandchildren was diagnosed with autism and the other was not. One is 3yrs old with the diagnosis and his sister is 4years old. The music is catchy and alive. The lessons are remarkable. I bought several others with the same reception as this one. They love Elizabeth and all the children in the video. My three year old grandson loves to jump on the rebounder as he is listening to the video. I recommend this and all the Bounce video for children diagnosed with autism and other pre-schoolers and children into the first grade. Excellent work the music therapist is doing. It does help the children alot. Hope this company keeps producing these videos.

  2. My child is not even on the spectrum, but the Bounce DVDs are a huge hit in our house. Elizabeth's songs are fantastic -- they don't drive you nuts like other kid-tunes. And the themes of all the DVDs teach coping skills and behaviors that can benefit ALL children. It is so nice to see a DVD like this that actually uses REAL kids rather than wall-to-wall cartoons and none of that strange, psychedelic animation that seems to be the trend. If your child is a late talker, or just shy, or just likes great music to jump around to, then the Bounce DVDs are the best that money can buy. How many ways can I praise this series? Can I give it more stars than five? And when on earth are they going to add more episodes?? Kids and parents are waiting...

  3. My daughter loves the Bounce DVDs and CDs. We find they are enjoyable, fun to watch. Elizabeth begins by telling how to know when the end has arrives, that is so helpful when doing any activity. She has a great goodnight song.
We play the CD at bedtime and it has really helped our daughter settle in quicker and sleep better ( less night waking).

  4. We fell in love with the Bounce songs and Elizabeth after seeing them on PBS Sprout. I got the Routines DVD and can't say enough about it. Bounce is like a music class based around a theme. Elizabeth is the teacher and she has kids in her class. There's songs about routines, like a song about what you do in the morning and cleaning up. There's also a wonderful song about safety which is fun and wonderful and we all sing it when crossing the street. Also a song about called the Good Night song about how to fall asleep - and it works! In the show, you see ELizabeth and the kids in the classroom and when they start singing a song we see the lyrics being acted out. There's also fun things after each song, like quizzes that my kids go nuts over. THe best thing about Bounce is that it's educational but it's just as entertaining. And the songs are REALLY excellent. One of the best things is that the dvd came with a CD also with all the songs from the show on it and we play it everywhere. An extra bonus for me is that both my girls (2 and a half and five years old) LOVE Bounce and they can share it together. I am so glad that I found Bounce. We also have the LET'S GO dvd which is just as great as the Routines show (the going to the doctor song is priceless. I am getting the other ones too that I just found. By the way - Elizabeth is a music therapist and this DVD is for all kids on all levels. THUMBS UP!
