5 comments about The Wiggles: You Make Me Feel Like Dancing.

  1. ThisDVD I purchased for my almost 2 yr old....she loves it. Could watch it for hours.....dances with it and laughs, very entertaining for her. I recommend it highly!

  2. My 3 year old, who is not as crazy about the Wiggles as she used to be, has been enjoying this video. It's all music, so she can dance like crazy!

  3. My 6 year old and 4 year old had lost interest in the Wiggles a long time ago until we discovered this new DVD.

Background - My 1 year old started enjoying our old Wiggles cds and toys so we decided to give the Wiggles a try again. What a hit this DVD has been for all 3 of our kids! My older two children dance and sing to every song and my little guy can't get enough. We even had to buy the CD and now listen to it in the car all the time.

Sam is a great addition to the group (after initially being rejected by my kids at first. my firstborn loved greg!!) and they now love him. He has a great voice and they have really stepped up their choreography and music choices. You can tell they have invested more in the sets, costumes, song-writing, etc. Plus, they incorporate several known traditional songs with some of their own. Bottom line - we highly recommend it!

Disney needs to bring this video to TV ASAP!!! It will reinvigorate the Wiggles fans! Personally I think the current episodes are getting very old.

  4. My son is a Wiggles fan so I bought this for his 3rd birthday. He loves dancing along!

  5. My son, 19 months, loves this video! He is a die hard Wiggles fan. This video is different than those in the past. New songs, good dancing and songs adults will enjoy also.

5 comments about Toddler Favorites.

  1. I bought this CD to try to add variety to the music my Grandson listens to. It does have a few different ones and he enjoys the songs. We all end up singing along which really is a riot, and it makes dinner time fun and enjoyable for my Grandson.

  2. As some people mentioned, the way I remember learning these songs were different in their style. But that is no suprise, my husband and I also recall different versions of these same songs from one another. I guess it all depends on who taught you the song first.

Regardless they are still basically the same songs as always, though some of the songs I never heard before when growing up though most of these I did.

My daughter loves singing along, though I am not quite as enthralled with the song prsentatione as she is. A 5 star for children though.

  3. I bought this CD 5 years ago and my oldest still loves the CD. Now, my 15 month old loves it too! It keeps him happy in the car. I like the CD too because its not annoying..no screeching yelling kids singing...the adults sing the songs and the kids on there sound normal. I actually like singing with this CD with my kids.

  4. My 2 year-old daughter and 8 month son love this CD although I found that the diction of the singer on track #13 could have been better.

  5. I really thought that I had reviewed this before...but I am really pleased with the DVD!!!

5 comments about Help! (Deluxe Edition).

  1. This is a great collection of material and tribute to the heyday of 'Beatlemania'. The remastered edition of 'Help' is very well done; a huge improvement over previous releases and a worthy addition to any Beatles collection. The amazing Amazon promotional deal made this purchase a 'no-brainer'.

  2. I have the regular edition for this awesome movie. The price was to good to pass up. Beatles fans if you can get it at this price(I got it at $29.99) get it. The box is huge, I actually am not going to open it. I will let my son open it when he is ready to explore the world of the Beatles. Love is all you need.

  3. Need I say more??? A must have for all Beatles fans out there! Video and sound quality are excellent. Lots of rare photos and video footage added to this package. Well worth it.

  4. the beatles are the most famous group of people on the planet.everything that can be said about them, has.so there is nothing that i can really add except that help was their second movie and as such was not as good as their first.the reason to buy this pkg. is the extras.like how the movie was made by many of the people who were involved with its production.this is not just a movie but a slice of the history of the sixties.all of this is worth watching, the extras more so than the movie.

  5. I remember when this DVD set sold for about $179.00; I purchased it new from Amazon for $29.95. I'd like to know: why so cheap? Was it a mistake? It's now selling for $80.00 on this site.....feels like the stock market to me.

5 comments about Sesame Street - Old School, Vol. 1 (1969-1974).

  1. I'm from Germany. In 1969, we moved to California for two years. I was 4 years old. Sesame Street taught me almost everything and I loved the show. When we had to return to Germany, my mom taped the sound of Sesame Street with a tiny cassette player held in front of the TV. (There is a cute tape with baby brother going "monster boo" in the background to a Hairy Monster sketch). The tapes were for keeping my English alive, and for memories. In Germany, I watched the German Sesamstrasse once, found no Susan, Gordon, Bob, or Mr. Hooper, and boycotted it ever since. Recently, I have been watching all the clips on YouTube, singing along (I remember all the words, too) Then I boldly ordered the DVD, not knowing if the shipment to Germany would work. It did. In no more than a week it arrived. Nobody can imagine how happy it made me to watch all those beautiful stories again. I sang along with Ernie and Kermit, almost flipped out when the Jazzy Spies came (oh the wonderful music of that time), cried out hilariously at the hair-dos and clothes. Hell, it made me homesick all over again, but it was worth every minute. The bonus material is enlightening, the booklet is very informative - the CTW really did good work, then and now. It is possible children of today find it too slow (the world has gotten too hectic, anyway). These classic DVDs are more for the children of the sixties. Buy it. Wallow in memories. Become young again. Enjoy and sing along. It makes you happy and high, no side effects.
One advice: don't do any housework like ironing while watching. Believe me, shirts are hard to see with tears in your eyes ...

  2. Though some sources claim that these "old school" children's television programs are not as useful or relevant for today's youngsters as when today's parents were originally watching (including a disclaimer in this product itself), I can relate that my 2-and-1/2-year-old is fascinated by them and she has been watching the episodes repeatedly for the past month since we started showing them to her. So fear not - the children of the 2000s will find much to love and come back to in this package of vintage shows. I doubt you will be sorry that you bought it for your child, especially if you loved Sesame Street when you were your child's age.

  3. This DVD set is packed with classic skits that I remember as a kid. It makes me so happy to watch it with my 18 month old son and 6 month old daughter. I know they love it just as much as I do. My son does not like the new sesame street nearly as much. If the new shows are on, he will actuallay bring me the dvd, because he want's to watch the classics instead!
    Sorry Elmo!

  4. I watched Sesame Street from the time I was really small and I always liked it. In fact, I can remember watching well past the "target age" of the show. However, in the last 14 years or so, I had become extremely disapointed with how much the show had been dumbed down, and the advent of a few new characters (especially Baby Bear) really messed things up. Baby Bear has the most annoying, whiny voice ever! While reading the reviews on here, I noted that several people had mentioned a speech impediment. The odd thing is that I'd never really noticed that, or cared. It was just his whole attitude that drove me up the wall. We don't having "streaming" TV (aka cable or sattelite) so my children haven't been growing up watching this as I did for which I am profoundly grateful. The show centering around Elmo is nothing like the show I remember and the few times my kids have seen it, they've wandered off within a few minutes! And they're all between 2 and 6. So I have few Sesame Street vids and they're rarely watched.

However, that being said, I was ecstatic when I discovered this at a friends house and got to borrow it. I hauled it home and prepared for a nice nostalgic journey (even if said episodes were aired over the decade before I was born), with the hopes that the kids would enjoy it as much as I. They loved it. They beg to watch it, and considering they know we only watch TV on the weekends, they don't usually ask. I also noted that several people mentioned the grainy quality and that their children wouldn't even watch it because of that. My children haven't had a problem with it, and have never mentioned it. Then again, that may be because we watch lots of old movies, including really old movies from the 30's (I mean, come on, what modern child actually likes watching the Marx Brothers? [besides mine that is]), so that may be a reason that they haven't noticed the quality. They've learned how to get around that aspect and enjoy the show for itself.

I too was a little disappointed at first when I found out there were only one episode from each season, but I quickly got over it. I enjoyed seeing how it evolved over those years (an orange Oscar?!) and I also really liked the little out takes. I was excited to see the little video of the boy fishing for the alphabet. That's one that's always stuck with me, and reminds me of my oldest now. If ever a whole collection is offered, it would be well worth it and I hope someday to be able to add it to our rather extensive collection. This is one of those rare instances where I would make an exception to the "NO TV" rule during the week.

  5. We enjoyed the nostalgia, however, expected more episodes. It's dated but still wholesome entertainment for our child.

5 comments about Jim Henson's the Storyteller - The Definitive Collection.

  1. This is one of those things I vividly remember from childhood that I think all children should be exposed to. The fanciful stories aren't all puppy dogs and rainbows, and I think that's very important for kids to learn. No matter what the story was, there was always a positive note at the end to keep kid's imaginations and hopes alive. The creatures are still just as spooky as they were when I was a child, and the stories are still just as breathtaking as they were. The only difference is that now as an adult, I can truly appreciate the vocabulary.

  2. The series is wonderful, especially with the dog in the each introduction! I love that old stories have been brought to life in such a magical way! Thank you!!!!!

  3. I remember watching "The Luck Child" over and over on VHS after recording it from TV when I was young and the series had just been released. As a HUGE fantasy fan it was all I could ask for. Many years later, long after the tape had been lost and DVDs had become the commonplace I had never forgot the joy this series had brought me in my youth and after much research found this DVD. This disc is NOT for the people who are looking for flawless animatronics or modern CGI technology... however, if you want delightful stories of myth and fantasy that are told by a witty storyteller and his "fearless" dog by the hearth then buy this today!!

  4. This was a gift for my son's 23rd birthday. His amazed delight upon opening this was, for me, just the best. "Where did you FIND it?!" Jim Henson's Storyteller was possibly his favorite TV show as a small child. Listening to him excitedly describe it to his fiancee made me feel pretty good. This may have been his favorite birthday gift.

  5. I got this series of short stories because my kids watched it when they were small, and they loved it. The special effects aren't as fantastic as they are now with CGI, but Henson as always, picked stories based on what they could teach young children--the Aesop of the 20th century. The stories presented are still charming, quaint and teach valuable lessons. There's no question they will enchant another generation.

5 comments about Sesame Street: Vol. 2 - Old School (1974-1979).

  1. My husband and I enjoy this collection as much as my 2 year old does. We loved watching Sesame Street as a child, and some of our favorites from childhood are included here.

  2. Got this as a present for my kid, and to relive my growing up days.

  3. OK, there is some disclaimer at the beginning of this that children these days should not watch this and that it is only meant for adults to reminisce. I assume it is because of cookie monster or something, seems silly to me. I watched this with my toddler and I think it's fine. It is certainly more appropriate than junk that teaches kids to dress like hookers (I'm looking at you, Bratz).

I loved watching this with my daughter, old school Sesame Street is so much better than the junk on these days. Most stuff these days are nothing more than CGI with no story or real entertainment value (Ice Age, Cars, Skrek, the Disney channel). I really enjoy this because it is very creative. They are on a really tight budget, but they do a good job putting together all sorts of different skits and songs with a lot of variety. And I even get a legitimate chuckle every now and then--unlike the eye-rolling lame jokes on Hannah Montana. This is perfect for kids and adults to enjoy together.

  4. We enjoyed the nostalgia, but there were'nt as many episodes as we thought. It's definitely dated, but still wholesome entertainment for our child.

  5. I think it's terrific! I can hardly wait to see Volume 3. When will it be available?

  1. This CD is awesome! My 19 month old nephew loves it, and my 2nd grade class begs to listen to it! Wonderful for children!!

  2. I don't have kids of my own but I'm a teacher so I have a class full. The kids love it when I turn this on and songs like "First day of school" help remind me of the preciousness of my cargo. "Calling All Movers" and "Big" in particular get them excited about movement activities and brain gym work. It's an all around good buy.

  3. My children enjoy the Imaginary Movers on the Disney Channel and now they sing along on road trips.

  4. Got this CD for my nephews birthday party. The kids loved it and my nephews dances to it regularly.

  5. My son is 3 years old and he loves this CD. We have a "dance party" and just go crazy. He loves the songs "jump up" and "what's in the fridge?." And, I don't mind listening to it either- yeah! Very fun upbeat music. I would highly recommend this CD especially if your child likes to dance.

5 comments about Baby Einstein - Baby MacDonald - A Day on the Farm.

  1. My daughter loved this DVD at 8 months and loves it even more at 17 months! This Baby Einstein DVD is the best one she's seen - lots of animals and music. It keeps her dancing, pointing and laughing.

  2. My 20-month old son loves this video! We've had it for a few months now and he still enjoys it every time! His favorite part is the handpuppets, but he gets excited over the tractors, the chickens, the children...basically everything in this video. And I love watching it too!

  3. Your child would love watching this video, but she'd also love eating cotton candy and drinking grape soda. Many pediatric and psychological studies have shown that young children know FEWER words for every hour they spend watching videos like this one. Why? Because they aren't spending time with YOU, practicing their language and social skills. There's also evidence that young children who watch TV have a greater risk of developing ADHD. Last, toddlers who grow up in homes with the TV always on in the background literally seem to have more trouble hearing themselves think. This hurts their developing linguistic abilities and consequently their abilities to engage silent reasoning.

Please protect your child -- don't let her watch any TV during her early, crucial, developmental years. We only watch TV when our little girl is asleep.

  4. I bought a copy of this one two years ago, but unfortunately my son damaged it. He loved it so much I decided to buy it again. I bought the new release of the dvd thinking it was probably better than the original. I was very dissapointed to find out that the language tracks are not available, even though it plainly states it on the back of the dvd case! I love the Baby Einstein series because its a great way to keep Spanish in my child's life. I would not have bought it again if I had known that the language features were no longer available. False advertising!!! If youre gonna do something, do it right or dont do it at all.

  5. My 9 month old daughter is absolutely thrilled to watch this video ..esp the cow !! Its great when I have to leave for work and need to divert her attention .. it should help her get some knowledge when she grows older ..

5 comments about Baby Einstein: Lullaby Classics.

  1. We always play this cd during the evening routine, just right before the baby's falling asleep and he really likes it. The light tunes are really efficient for this purpose. It is a mixture of songs from the big classics like Mozart, Vivaldi, Bach, Debussy. Worth the money!

  2. We began playing this CD for my daughter as we fed her a bottle in her nursery before naptime and bedtime. I believe it was beneficial to both mom/dad and baby. It was very soothing. Now, two years later, we still play the CD every night before bed and often will play it in the car on long trips to recreate a naptime scenario in the car. Today I am buying a second CD as I am due with another baby in just a few weeks. I expect that the CD will be loved equally by this new baby as it is by my two-year-old.

  3. It has different composers in this CD. I enjoy it a lot since I love classical music; however, it has repeats if you already have Baby Bach & Baby Mozart 1 & 2 CDs.

  4. My three girls grew up watching the video's it is great to see the legacy live on! You are making a difference. Thank you and keep it up! [...]

  5. Perfect music to relax little boys and quiet them after their hectic day.
    Solves sleep problems.
    Good for oldies as well.
    Denise
