5 comments about Beethoven Lives Upstairs.

  1. Beethoven Lives Upstairs is a delightful way to introduce Beethoven's work to young and older students. Be careful telling young students about his deafness. One six year old dissolved in tears and couldn't play Beethoven for another year!

  2. I bought this product as we the whole family are spanish spoken and we find this type of products very helpfull to maintain and further develop our english language skill continue to growth while entretained.

  3. the cd brings the power of beethoven's music and life story to all who will listen. you don't even need to be a musician!

  4. I owned this on cassete as a kid and I am so sad to have lost it. I fell asleep to this tape as a kid, and now Beethoven has an almost nostalgic feel about him. WONDERFUL album!! :D

  5. This is a wonderful CD. It's narrative is quite pleasing and of course the music is fantastic. We listen to this in the car and my 7 yr old daughter just loves it. It has sparked some interesting conversations. I am very pleased with it and will most definitely purchase others in the series.

  1. Some kids music is rather annoying for adults. This album is very enjoyable for everyone. My husband and i like it as much as our kids do. Dan Zanes and They Might Be Giants are some of our favorites.

  2. Great recording, all of the arrangements are very well done. The contributions of other artists are done in taste. This is good listening for either children or adults. I am thinking this is similar to the work of Woody Guthrie's when he was writing and performing songs for his and other children. With all the American Idol, pop-crap out there it is recordings like this that reinforce what music is really about, listening to nice melodies that make us feel good about being alive.

  3. There are catchy beats and neat lyrics! The syle needs to be your taste to really get into it as an adult, but the kids seem to love it.

  4. We purchased this record for grandchildren aged 2-6 and they loved it. Almost as good was that we adults found the music pleasurable and fun too. The CD was packaged artistically with all the lyrics in a song booklet. The CD's story theme could have been more pronounced so that younger children might more easily identify with the story. That said, we danced up a storm. We're buying other Dan Zane CD's for our enjoyment and will make them future presents to the g-kids. Highly recommended.

  5. If you want some fun music that won't drive you up a wall, make you feel like you're 2 or send you screaming from a room, this is a great CD! Not your traditional kids music but so much more fun! There's a great variety of musical styles and they are just fun songs to hear over and over. If you've seen his videos on the Disney Channel you'll know what to expect. Really great - can't say enough about how good the music and lyrics are. Check it out!

5 comments about Wonder Pets - Save the Beetles!.

  1. LOVE this DVD - probably more than my daughter! The songs are catchy - I find myself singing along with it every time we watch it. Worth every penny.

  2. Wonder Pets is a great show, but the cover of the dvd is misleading. The cover shows the Wonder Pets saving the Beetles, assuming that was the video. The video contains three other episodes that is the approximate same amount of time as the episode saving the Beetles. It wasn't a full length movie of them saving the Beetles like I had thought.

  3. My 10 month old cannot get enough of the Wonder Pets. She even rocks and tries to dance when she hears the songs. This one is great, although I wish the Beattle segment was longer. I actually like and approve of Wonder Pets for her, b/c they are sending a good message. Plus I do not have to listen to the schreching, nails on chalk board, screeming from dora the explorer. Dora drives us crazy. More Wonder Pets..........

  4. Well this is everything a Baby Boomer gran or auntie needs to see to guarantee a purchase! It's a combination British Invasion music "tribute" with tons of Beatle references and precious, funny animals! There's no violence and no scary guys to make it anything but perfect for its intended audience -- Babies and Boomers who love them!

    I'm sold. How about you?

  5. Super! This is a darling television show. My entire family (teens included) laughed and cheered throughout the DVD. We can't wait to share it with cousins this summer.

5 comments about Meteor & the Mighty Monster Trucks, Vol. 2.

  1. My son is 2 1/2 and loves anything related to cars and monster trucks. Meteor & the Mighty Monster Trucks are his favorite series to watch. I would highly recommend this series. Very good show for kids.

  2. You will not be disappointed with the further adventures of Meteor and his friends. This DVD deals with a lot of things that are similar to Vol. 1, except this one handles issues such as: being fair, teasing, and general concepts about how we should treat other people. This disc (Vol. 2) includes the following episodes:
    * Cheering section
    * Tag along
    * Trucktacular truckathon
    * Rebel rover
    * Hang time
    * Bathtime for Junkboy

  3. My little boy loves this show on Discovery Kids. It shows kid monster trucks getting into trouble and learning life lessons. This is the only cartoon he watches. He also loves the music when the show comes on. This is a great DVD for little boys. My daughters like it too. But, are not that intrested in it as he is.

  4. My 3 year old son is crazy over Meteor and the Mighty Monster Trucks. I find myself engrossed in the cartoons over and over. We watch at least one episode every night and he spends hours pretending his toy trucks are Meteor, L.T., and the rest of the gang. The videos are, as I said, entertaining and deliver positive messages. Each video (volumes 1 and 2) contains six 10 minute episodes. This volume has "Cheering Section" where kids learn the importance of being a good sport, "Tag Along" where L.T. has to spend time with his sister, Zooey, who spends the day copying him. He learns that imitation is the best form of flattery. "Trucktacular Truckathon" illustrates the importance of teamwork even if your "team" isn't what you expected. In "Rebel Rover" Meteor rebels when he is called the teacher's pet and discovers not all attention is positive. By breaking the rules and breaking into the junkyard in "Hang Time", the gang finds out that part of being a "big truck" is understanding the importance of rules. And in my personal favorite, "Bathtime for Junkboy", Junkboy overcomes his fear of bathing and finds out it's not so bad after all.

  5. My son recently discovered this show on TV, and he loves it so much that I bought the first two volumes on DVD so he could watch it on the car DVD player. This show never gets old to him! He loves it. And it's actually one of the few cartoons that I can stand to watch! Funny, great graphics, and very cute!!

5 comments about Kipper: Amazing Discoveries!.

  1. All of my grandkids LOVE Kipper especially Art, the 2 year old. Kipper and Tiger are very soothing and a good choice for calming everyone down for naptime. I like the continuous play mode.

  2. We just recently returned from a very long road trip, and I was glad to have a few new Kipper videos on hand to make the trip a little easier. We mixed the Kipper videos in among a few other faster paced videos and it was nice to have the variety. Kipper is just a great, kind, slower paced character that all of my children enjoy. The british accents make Kipper and his friends very easy to listen to, and the nice simple graphics are fun and enjoyable to watch. Compared to many of the fast moving, over done videos out there today, Kipper is a wonderful breath of fresh air. We love him!

  3. My 18 month old son really enjoys Kipper. He dances to the jazzy tune played for the opening and closing credits. The minimalistic backgrounds help keep the focus on the main characters. Kipper is one of the kids' videos that I don't mind playing over and over again.

  4. I have never found a Kipper DVD or episode that my four year old didn't like.
    As an adult I would much rather watch Kipper than various other shows.
    They do have some nice lessons about manners and just generally how to
    treat others kindly.

  5. Fun for the whole family. Kipper is my kids favorite video. We now have 3 videos and look forward to buying more/all of them. We watch these videos together as a family.

5 comments about Once Upon a Potty For Her.

  1. My daughter (2 1/2 yrs) enjoys this video. My daughter is mostly potty trained when I got this video. I think it did help reaffirm some of the practices that we do now but I don't think this has helped in potty-training. There's alot of essential details missing if you are looking to help with potty training. I give it high rating because it is entertaining. It's something she asks for often and I put it in when I need about 10 minutes to get something else done. (We often just fast forward to the story and skip the potty songs with the babies.)

  2. My daughter watched this video and was potty trained in an instant! She watched this video when she was two, I gave her lots of juice and water so she had a full bladder and I set her lil potty in front of the tv. I turned the video on and she peed in the potty! And she went on her lil potty from that day on! It was a very successful video, it made her be proud to go on the potty and feel sucesful that she could acomplish the task. I would recommend this video to everyone! My dauhgter wanted to watch it all the time, so I let her! She loves to sing along with the video. And she was fully potty trained by 2 and a half. No problems here! I would recommend this video for anyone who wants to have their kiddo potty trained in no time!

  3. I have 3 nephews that used the Boy Version of Once Upon A Potty and now my daughter is using the Girl Version. She loves the video and can watch it over and over. Kids seem to really connect with the character and want to imitate them. She is already sitting on her potty from just watching the video. Amazing!

  4. The video is way too short and outdated. It's maybe worth $5.00, not $15.00 like I paid!

  5. This DVD is OK but doesn't hold my 2 year olds interest for very long. She prefers the Go Potty Go DVD over this one.

5 comments about Disney's Family Christmas Collection.

  1. I purchased this CD for my 7 year old daughter. She loves music and singing. I thought she would play this cd a lot more during the holiday season. I even thought she'd use it with her karaoke cd player. She did not. I'm not sure why. I thought it was a nice sounding cd. I'm a Disney lover so I'm not disappointed. I just thought it would get a little more playtime.

  2. It was in great shape. It was exactly the way it was supposed to be...

  3. Not all of the songs are sung by the disney characters but all the songs are really enjoyable. My girls ages 2, 4, 6 love to listen to it over and over in the car. I like the cd too.

  4. I purchased this album expecting all songs to be sung by Mickey and co., but I was wrong. An overwelming majority of the songs are just by no name singers. Some of the arrangements are fun, but if they were all by Mickey it could have been even more fun.

  5. I BOUGHT THIS AND BABY SANTA AT THE SAME TIME AND MY DAUGHTER LIKES THIS BETTER THAN THE BABY SANTA. BABY SANTA HAS A LOT OF VERY SHORT SONGS, AND THESE HAVE MORE SONG TIMES. THEY ARE SO PEACEFUL AND GREAT TO LISTEN TOO ALL YEAR LONG!

5 comments about Chillin' With Pingu.

  1. My two year old has always enjoyed Pingu, but now he truly appreciates the humor and laughs big belly laughs when watching this DVD especially. He was even Pingu for Halloween this year, and gave a little Pingu impersonation at each house we visited. He Loves Pingu!

  2. This is great fun if you enjoy slap stick comedy in which no langue is spoken.

  3. My Grandchildren love this movie. It makes me crazy to listen to it.

  4. My 2 1/2 year old grandson loved the first Pingu so I bought this one. This one is even beter. We both LOVE the "birth" scene with the nurse helping the baby hatch from the egg. It also shows the reality of having a new baby in the house, complete with Pingu having to run the tissue with the baby poo to the toilet. And of course, Pingu is jealous of his new sister.

    I wish there were more Pingus!

  5. My little girl loves her friend Pingu. If your child likes Pingu, he/she will love this DVD.

5 comments about Classical Baby: The Dance Show.

  1. My 10 month old son loves these videos. We put them on when he's inconsolable or awake at night, and he stops everything and watches as soon as he hears the intro theme music. It's a great tool to have in a parent's toolbox for cranky baby!

  2. Do not hesitate in buying the 3DVD set, Music, Art and Dance. It will leave a smile on your soul. If your child should watch a DVD, these should be IT !!! The selection of music, art and dance is truly genius. It will leave your child in awe, let alone you. It is whimsical, fun, creative and magical. You will want to watch it again and again and again and...

  3. My son asked for these when we borrowed them from the library so many times we just bought them :) They are really interesting - the songs/dances are just long enough to hold a young child's attention (he's been watching them since he was about 18 months and is now 3) but interesting enough (not pretentious or *eagerly educational*) to watch repeatedly. I also like how they use real instruments and real recordings rather than music box sounds. I ALSO appreciate that they added some jazz and a little "mambo" in there, since classical is not the only valid musical style in the world :) Definitely worth a buy or at least borrowing from the library, if you can do so :)

  4. This was not a big hit with my 14 and 32 month old children. I was pretty disappointed in it myself. I thought it would have a bit more realistic dancing in it, but it mainly shows drawn cartoon figures moving around. My kids both love music and dancing, but this didn't hold their attention. I personally think the Playschool Prep series is better for capturing interest.

  5. The item arrived in good time, good condition and best of all, my baby loved it! I would recommend.

5 comments about Angelina Ballerina - Friends Forever.

  1. Another hit from Angelina Ballerina and her friends (and all-important dance teacher). My 3 1/2 year old granddaughter loves Angelina Ballerina and watches the movie many, many times.

  2. Gave this to my granddaughters for Christmas and they enjoy it while playing with their Angelina Ballerina Dolls. Thanks!

  3. I really like this DVD. I have it on VHS. In Ballerina Rag Doll, Angelina mistakenly gives away her rag doll that her grampa had given her. In Angelina's Surprise, Priscilla and Penelope Pinkpaws get a new baby brother. Angelina gets very jealous and mistakenly tells a lie. In Artur the Butterfly, Angelina finds an injured butterfly and looks after it. When Arthur feels better, Angelina refuses to let him go. When Angelina searches for Artur, she and Henry get trapped in a big hole. In Alice's Present, Alice gives Angelina a homemade gym bag. When Angelina leaves her gym bag outside her front door, the Pinkpaws twins take the bag, which causes a big fight between Angelina and Alice. Alice vows not to do ballet. Angelina vows not to do gymnastics. When Angelina gets her bag back, she and Alice get back together. I love happy endings. At first, I didn't like it because it has my least favorite episode in it. But now, I like the DVD.

  4. Such great life lessons in this DVD...I bought it for my daughter so she's have some girlie DVDs, and my 4 year old son loves it too!

  5. Four stories from the PBS television series. In each tale Angelina faces difficult challenges. The stories are:

    Ballerina Rag Doll - Angelina faces maturity as she gives up her baby things to help others. But Angelina might not be ready to part with them all. Or is she?

    Angelina's Surprise - Angelina is jealous of the attention being given the Twins and their new sibling. Angelina tells a lie that snowballs out of control until she admits her mistake.

    Arthur the Butterfly - Angelina finds a beautiful injured butterfly while on a picnic. Angelina has a hard time letting it go once it is healed but learns her lesson when she becomes trapped.

    Alice's Present - Alice gives Angelina a new gym bag that through a mix-up winds up donated to charity. Alice thinks Angelina did not like the gift and a friendship might come to an end.

    We love the stories, the music and the voice characterizations. A fun video for young girls, and some boys, with lessons for everyone.
