2 comments about Goosebumps: Night of the Living Dummy.

  1. Kids loved it. Scared the heck out of them! Not for Little ones that scare easily.

  2. I got this the first day it came out. Because I was such a big Goosebumps fan I bought it. This was not as good as Night of the living dummy III. Well, you know it's weird, in the book of Night of the living dummy II, Slappy hits his head on a steel thing and gets his head cracked in two. And in Night of the living dummy II the episode, he falls on the edge of the fire place and toatally destroys his head. In Night of the living dummy III the book he gets his limbs torn off by the other dummies. While in the episode, he gets struck by lighting and blows up. Otherwise, they were still good Goosebumps episodes, I don't want to get started on Bride of the living dummy. oh well, Night of the living dummy II was a good use of a Slappy puppets. On Night of the living dummy III sometimes they used migets in costumes. Well, that;s it.

5 comments about Little People - Creativity Collection.

  1. There is so much here for the little ones to enjoy. The Little People reside in a colorful, happy, friendly environment. There is always a good moral behind each story. And, each video is short enough and simple enough to keep their attention. My son has watched this video for 4 years now. Not continuously! LOL. But he does not mind watching them over and over again.
We found that watching one or two before bedtime was a perfect way to settle down. I find them relaxing too. It's unfortunate that the world entire cannot be such a happy place.

  2. my two girls, 3 and 1.5, are completely addicted. we allow them to watch one video or tv show a day and it is almost always a little people video.

  3. This CD is too cute. My 3 year old grandson loves, loves, loves the little people. He will watch it over and over again. Thanks. Highly recommend.

  4. I purchased this DVD before a long vacation, and it was an immediate hit with my almost two-year-old. If you are considering buying any of the Little People movies, this collection would be the one I recommend most highly. It seems to be a favorite for my daughter and myself. Also she has taken several of the ideas in the movies and incorporated them into her imaginary play. (For example, Sarah Lynn teaching Maggie to sing).

  5. My son loved the Lil People DVD his toy came with, so I bought this one for variety. He absolutely loves this DVD! He giggles and dances to a couple of the songs. My son has no interest in watching other cartoons (except Superwhy) so I was quite surprised when he was entertained by Lil People. We have Creativity Collection and the Friendship Collection and they're both colorful and cute for little kids.

5 comments about Disney's Lullaby Album, Vol. 2.

  1. This is the best Lullaby CD. My daughter goes to sleep with it on evry night. Its very relaxing, and I enjoy the music as well.It was a great buy!

  2. I enjoy mellow music but this is almost sleep inducing. It's actually quite boring and could not classify it as romantic if thinking of using it as any kind of background music. But I imagine it can lull the little ones

  3. LOVE IT! I use this CD during my daughter's bedtime routine. It is VERY mellow. It's perfect for bedtime.

  4. I love this CD. I bought this for my son almost two years ago and we still enjoy listening to it. I just recently bought the Disney Lullaby Album Vol 1 for my daughter, and I definatly prefer vol 2 to vol 1. The entire CD is quiet and soothing. At no point does the music rise up and get too loud, it's very consistant which is good. So I don't have to worry about him being woken up by a burst of loud music. Hands down this one is much better than vol 1. We might have to buy a second copy of this one.

  5. It takes only a few moments after I start this CD and both of my kids are out cold!! It is so soft, soothing and a pleasure to listen to. The music is fantastic!

5 comments about Thomas and the Magic Railroad.

  1. I just think it's so funny that most of the people that gave this movie a bad review are basing it on their own criticsm and point of view. Hey, try looking at it from the kids' perspective and as long as they like it your opinions are null.

  2. My son is 13 mos and LOVES this movie. Yes Peter Fonda's acting makes me laugh but the movie is golden simply for the fact that my son can watch it over and over again and keep him entertained. Anyone who thinks the plot is hard to follow is joking because my son at 13 mos follows it and even claps at the parts when Thomas saves the day. The songs are sweet and it's a nice feel good movie for the whole family. Alec Baldwin is a hilarious straight man to his free spirited cousin. They actually make the movie tolerable for the adults who have to sit through it.

  3. This movie is just wrong...the acting is terrible and the plot is nonsensical. There is no excuse for such awful movie-making. Yes, even for kids.

Worst of all, it is completely false to the spirit of the Thomas stories and original series. The movie actually features an evil villain -- rare-to-nonexistent in the real Thomas stories, where the baddies learn their lessons and quickly become goodies. One of the charms of the Sodor of the books is that none of the trains are all bad, and all of them are basically upstanding and want nothing but to be Really Useful Engines. The Thomas engines in this turkey are made to say things roughly in character but still totally tone deaf. They're caricatures. The narrator has an American accent, and the engines are given very annoying voices, unlike the good old fashioned British productions. It mixes live actors, who are apparently somewhere in a magical part of the United States. Alec Baldwin plays a sort of fairy creature. A train is hidden inside a mountain, and is called not by English names like Emily but the Disneyesque "Lady." That just gives you a little notion. Apparently the plot involves "magical gold dust," but I admit I didn't finish watching the movie so I never found out how. But in the books, Sodor is not magical, it is not a fairy tale. It's a regular place...it just happens to have engines that talk. It interfaces with the real world, not via a magic portal, but via bridges and ferries.

This movie is not Thomas the Tank Engine. This is Americanized, Disneyfied excuse to make a buck--well, that's not fair, because most American children's and Disney theatrical releases are not this bad. Whoever is responsible for this turkey knows nothing about Thomas or why kids love him. They just wanted to make a quick buck, that's all. It's a slap in the face to those who like and appreciate Thomas.

My little boy is absolutely crazy about Thomas, but he couldn't watch more than 10-15 minutes of this garbage.

  4. Near the end of this movie I finally figured out what this movie was like. It's exactly like when someone is telling you a really weird dream they had....

"Well, first of all, Alec Baldwin was a tiny train conductor... " :)

Here's how the movie goes, in my opinion. This American Indian with long braids finds a child's drawing of a boy and recognizes the child in the drawing. There's a guy with a train in a cave. At some point a little girl follows a dog and gets on the wrong train and then gets in a car with a STRANGER to go to her grandfather's house. She climbs trees but can't ride a horse, then there is a lot of magical bouncing back and forth, including one part where Thomas sees a boxcar full of coal, presumably on a another track because he goes flying by it, and then when he screeches to a halt to go back to get it, it is mysteriously on the same track as him so he can couple right up to it. Even the kids watching thought that was crazy.

Towards the end, Peter Fonda inexplicably and with no context at all waves his fist and shouts "Green for Glory!" which put all the adults in the room into stitches.

The value this movie has is that it is so completely ridiculous you can make fun of it for a solid 85 minutes. The rest of it is so bizarro, so disjointed, and completely ridiculous... well, just don't torture yourself.

  5. I love this CD and so does my 3 year old who's a big Thomas fan. This is an excellent buy.

5 comments about Kipper: Amazing Discoveries!.

  1. All of my grandkids LOVE Kipper especially Art, the 2 year old. Kipper and Tiger are very soothing and a good choice for calming everyone down for naptime. I like the continuous play mode.

  2. We just recently returned from a very long road trip, and I was glad to have a few new Kipper videos on hand to make the trip a little easier. We mixed the Kipper videos in among a few other faster paced videos and it was nice to have the variety. Kipper is just a great, kind, slower paced character that all of my children enjoy. The british accents make Kipper and his friends very easy to listen to, and the nice simple graphics are fun and enjoyable to watch. Compared to many of the fast moving, over done videos out there today, Kipper is a wonderful breath of fresh air. We love him!

  3. My 18 month old son really enjoys Kipper. He dances to the jazzy tune played for the opening and closing credits. The minimalistic backgrounds help keep the focus on the main characters. Kipper is one of the kids' videos that I don't mind playing over and over again.

  4. I have never found a Kipper DVD or episode that my four year old didn't like.
As an adult I would much rather watch Kipper than various other shows.
They do have some nice lessons about manners and just generally how to
    treat others kindly.

  5. Fun for the whole family. Kipper is my kids favorite video. We now have 3 videos and look forward to buying more/all of them. We watch these videos together as a family.

5 comments about Mister Rogers' Neighborhood - A Day at the Circus (with Toy).

  1. Love Mr. Rogers!! The Speedy Delivery truck that came with this DVD is one of my son's favorite toys.

  2. This DVD is very good because it includes an excellent episode on music. The other Mister Rogers DVD available at Amazon.com is also great because is focuses on friendship and love.

Mister Rogers' Neighborhood is probably the best show ever made for children, because he understands the educational and emotional needs of young children. It may not be obvious, but quite a bit of thought was put into the design, format and content of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.

Mister Rogers teaches young children to value themselves and respect others. He speaks to them directly on his show and encourages them to use their creativity. He brings them on field trips to interesting places, like a farm, bakery, barber shop, and balloon factory.

He is a good person - an educator - to invite into your home and share time with your child. If your young child does not watch Mister Rogers, she should. His goal is not catchy entertainment, but to help very young children with their early development. His message is simple.

    "You're special.

"I like you just the way you are.

"There's only one person in the whole world just like you."

His television show is not as popular as it used to be (once hugely popular) and not as popular as other commercial, shallow television programs. It is not targeted at adults. Instead Mister Rogers is educational entertainment for young children ages two, three, four, and five; the little ones learning to count one-two-three-four-five, tie their shoes, and just beginning to understand themselves and their worlds. That's why Mister Rogers's Neighborhood is recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics - your child's doctor.

Fred Rogers is a genius of early childhood education. He wrote over 150 songs, produced and wrote almost all of his shows, and staged most of his puppets himself. He collected four Emmy Awards, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, a Lifetime Achievement Award by the National Academy of Television and Arts Sciences, numerous honorary degrees, and other awards. One of his red cardigan sweaters is enshrined in the Smithsonian Institute. Despite his success, he refused opportunities to get rich off his fame and remained a humble man committed to his cause of quality entertainment for young children.

He became widely recognized as a trusted authority on early childhood education, testifying before Congress and interviewed frequently. In an Associated Press Interview he said, "We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It's easy to say `It's not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem.' Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes."

Fred Rogers is one of the unsung heroes of our society, helping children to learn about themselves, learn about the world, like themselves, and respect other people. He was very special.

Mister Rogers is excellent entertainment for your child. This DVD is highly recommended.

  3. I bought this DVD for my best friend's daughter along with the other Mister Rogers DVD ("Adventures In Friendship") and she LOVES them. She has made me watch it with her at least 10 times. I can only imagine how many times she has watched it when I haven't been there!? She loves to sing-along to the DVD even though she can't really understand the words yet. Aren't kids just too funny sometimes!? If you are looking for a DVD for a toddler. THIS IS IT. --- EDUCATIONAL --- ENTERTAINING --- PERFECT!!!

  4. Fred Rogers was the host of this long running show. This DVD includes 2 episodes of the show, games, & more. Enjoy!!!!!

  5. Wouldn't that be lovely!? Well at least now we can bring a little of it back home with us into our neighborhood. My niece turns four this month and I look forward to giving her this and the Mister Rogers- 'Adventures in Friendship' DVD. I know she is going to love it as much as I remember loving this show. Her mother and I would watch it everyday. I have such great memories associated with this show. What a pleasure it will be to create some new ones with my new niece!

Filled to the brim with positive reinforcement and educational material taught at a slow pace so children can absorb it, Mister Rogers, remains after 30 years on PBS one of the best possible educational shows on television. Mister Rogers makes every child feel special and loved while helping them learn the moral lessons that are missing in so much current children's programming.

I would give this DVD more stars if they would let me... like 75 or so. :)

5 comments about World Playground.

  1. We bought this CD on a whim when my daughter was a baby. Now that she's 3, it is her favorite CD. We have 3 other 'Playground' CDs and they're all wonderful. What I like best about them is that my husband and I enjoy listening to them, too. It is very accesible world music.

  2. While this music is great for kids, it is one of our favorites because the adults can listen without going batty. Listen to the samples. That and the different sounds and languages earn this five stars in our house.

  3. My 14-months-old loves the happy music!! The second he sees me turning the CD on, he starts to bounce! We also enjoy the African Playground...and in his letter to Santa my son asked for Spanish Playground. Great collection.

  4. I received this CD as a gift at my baby shower and I must say it is by far my favorite. My daughter is not yet 2 months old but we listen to World Playground in the car and dance to it at home. It's upbeat and fun and she really responds to the diverse rhythms and beats. I love how the CD insert lists lyrics in English and the original languages and also includes a background of the type of music and/or the culture from which it originated. I just ordered a few more CDs from putumayo kids so hopefully we will love those just as much.

  5. We have this CD and the Dreamland CD, both of which are excellent. I love the unique, authentic music for its variety and interest, and my son just adores the wonderful rhythms. He loves to dance to the songs, and asks me to replay the CD quite often!

  1. This movie was exactly as advertised. Still in the shrink wrap and plays without a glitch. My granddaughter loves this movie and plays it over and over. Well worth the price.

  2. this is one of my favortie M-K and Ashley movies, its funny and cute and i loved watching this when i was a little!

  3. I know this is an old movie, but my 4 year old daughter just loves it. She will actually sit still and watch this entire movie!

  4. MaryKate and Ashley Olsen's early movies are really cute. When my daughters were younger (up to about age 10), they really liked the Olsen twins. So when this library's VHS copies of the movies needed to be replaced, I purchased titles on DVD, including "To Grandmother's House We Go." All these titles circulate regularly. Unfortunately, my daughters' favorites, "The Adventures of MaryKate and Ashley", in which they solve mysteries, are only on VHS or download. Looking forward to them on DVD!

  5. I bought it for Christmas, for my 7 yr. old grand daughter. We saw it twice the first day and twice the second day. She wanted to see it again the third day, so we did. Then I had to return home. She tells me every time we talk on the telephone, that she can not wait till my next visit so we can watch it together.

The film is very funny with lots of clever lines that my grand daughter has memorized. A good kid's movie is one that parents and grand parents enjoy as well. This one accomplished just that!.

1 comments about Thomas the Tank Engine: Thomas and the Treasure.

  1. This new dvd is the second season 10 dvd and the final season 9 dvd so as you can probably tell this is a combination of season 10 and season 9

Thomas and the Treasure(season 10)- It's about when Salty tells Thomas James and Emily a story about Pirate Treasure Thomas Sets off to find it It is okay can be boring at times but great for little kids if they like stories about pirate treasure

Duncan's Bluff (Season 10)- James and Duncan have to deliver coal and they have a contest to find out who can deliver coal the fastest and Duncan decides to hide his coal cars but after he makes James work so hard that he runs out of coal Duncan thought badly about what he had done
pretty good the moral is that its not good to lie and anyone can be really useful in their own way

Skarloey the Brave (Season 9)- After an incident with some coal cars skarloey tries to prove that he is the bravest so he tries to go up the winch but it breaks skarloey feels bad cause now the villigars wont be warm so he decides to deliver the coal himself
So-so the moral of the story is that be responsible is much better than being brave

Big Strong Henry (Season 10)- Gordon says the henry is not strong after being chosen to deliver supplies for farmer mc coll but everyone tries to cheer Henry up by calling him Big Strong henry but they make Henry get carried away and cause some hay trucks to get smashed but when henry is clearing them away Gordon looses the cows so henry decides to help out by getting them to follow the hay to their new shed so henry is very helpful and clever Henry
the moral of the story is don't get carried away about what people call you just be yourself nice episode and nice moral

Thomas Day Off (Season 9)- When Thomas has a day off he meets Dennis the new diesel and Dennis tricks by doing most of his work by lying but when Dennis does get into trouble no one is there to help
    Introduces Dennis the lazy Diesel
the moral of the story is that is better if you do your work and not make lies to get someone to do it for you

Seeing the Sights (Season 10)- Thomas has to take some visitors to show them around the island he gets impatient when Gordon tells him he can show them more place than Thomas can. Thomas gets so impatient he leaves all of visitors behind at each place.
The moral of the story is be patient with people don't rush them

If your kid likes Thomas and you want them to learn about being responsible and patiences and enjoy hearing a story about treasure then i guess this would be the dvd for you!
