4 comments about A Child's Celebration of Song 2.

  1. What a great CD! I have the first one and like this one just as much if not more (haven't heard it 100+ times yet) The CD I have is in such poor shape I decided to shop for a new one. Highly recommend.

  2. My 3-year-old son absolutely loves this CD. I got it on a whim, because it's hard to find good kids' music. Luckily, this one's a winner. In fact, all the "Child's Celebration" CDs are worth a listen. We dance to this one almost every night.

  3. The songs on this CD were okay, but we prefered the first CD, Celebration of Song. Two of the songs on this CD were good, especially Inchworm. However, one tune was rap...and we didn't like it at all.

  4. This is a great album (we have the cassette version). Appealing to both kids and parents, it's a fun mix of silly, upbeat songs (Choo Choo Boogaloo and Bananaphone) and slower, more sentimental tunes (Inchworm, All the Pretty Little Ponies) that stay with you long after you're finished listening. My 7-month-old loves it, and he's patient enough to let me listen to it over and over again! It's kids stuff with a sophisticated twist. I'd also recommend the Music For Little People Lullaby Album, it's super-sweet and the mix of songs is really unique.

4 comments about Sesame Street - Big Bird's Story Time.

  1. If you love "old school" Sesame Street, you'll enjoy watching this with your child. I first discovered it at our local library, and after watching it once, I had to have a copy of my own. My favorite is seeing Kermit the Frog and his many "misadventures" while he reports the news. My two-year-old granddaughter quite enjoys this DVD, and she often requests "Big Bird" when I ask her what she wants to watch. I am not one to let kids watch too much television, but running about 30 minutes long, this DVD the perfect length and a top quality show. Thank you, Sesame Street!

  2. My 7 month old loves this video. It calms him down before nap and bedtime. Fun for parents to watch too.

  3. Maria is my favourite of the Sesame Street humans.
It's good to see that everyone else, besides Big Bird, now knows that Snuffy truly does exist.
My favourite segment is The Three Little Pigs.I love the way the big bad wolf blows everything but the pigs'house away.Everything including Kermit and the clouds.A riot!
My second favourite is At Your Library.

  4. My 5 year old son and 20 month old daughter loved this video. The video includes Kermit the Frog as the reporter-which I loved as a child. I love the combination of fairytales and Sesame Street! Great video!

1 comments about Alphabet Jam: Songs and Rhymes to Build Early Reading Skills.

  1. This is such a fun CD. I borrowed it from my local library to listen to in the car while we drive, and both of my boys love it! My boys are ages 2 and, the other just turned 4. The four year old knew his ABC's but didn't know all of the sounds, and the catchy songs have taught him all of them. My two year old also has learned all of the sounds of the letters of the alphabet as well.

The songs are super creative, and fun to listen to, even for me the parent. I highly recommend this CD to those looking for fun music for their toddler's or preschoolers!

5 comments about Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen: Greatest Hits.

  1. It's a good cd i've a realy big fan of mary-kate and ashley but i must admit there not that good at singing they've got sweet vocies in some of there song but my mum can't stand there music.

  2. This is a very cute CD, and the best of Mary-Kate and Ashley's Greatest Hits series. "Brother For Sale," "I Am the Cute One," and "No One Tells the President What to Do" are three of my favorite kids songs.

"Brother for Sale" explores the mixed emotions of having siblings: they are both a bane and a blessing. The song takes a clever twist on that long-acknowledged truism by setting up a scenario where Mary-Kate and Ashley are trying to sell their "slightly used" big brother to anyone who will take him. But in the process of touting his good qualities to potential buyers, they realize that they really don't want to give him up.

"I Am the Cute One" has a cool calypso sound, and the twins sound absolutely adorable. The lyrics are simple...a debate between the sisters over which of them is "the cute one." It's not terribly deep, but cute and very pleasant to listen to.

"No One Tells the President What to Do" took on new meaning for me as George W. Bush was ignoring the United Nations a few years back and insisting on going into Iraq alone. Prophetic words from the Olsens. It's a funny song, though, in its own right, as Mary-Kate and Ashley dream about being president as a way of avoiding all of their chores (because there's no responsibility involved in leading the free world!).

The other songs are enjoyable, too, if not as memorable or clever as those three. The bonus tracks are pretty forgettable, but needed to be included as a selling point to those who already have the 5 CDs/videos from which the "greatest hits" are drawn.

It's a good CD for anyone who has kids who wants to be a kid again.

  3. It's really a cute compilation of their coolest songs. I like it a lot. Are you an Olsenfan? If yes,buy this stuff!

  4. My daughter loves the Olsen twins and all their videos, so she had to have their CD too. She really likes it, but I have to leave the house whenever she puts it on. The cat won't even stay in the room.
I have to believe that Mary-Kate and Ashley have the worst voices ever recorded, coupled with braindead lyrics and instrumention that sounds like it was created on a $19.99 keyboard from Kmart.
They're talentless little zombies who are dumbing down the world, starting with my daughter. Someone should sue them for emotional distress. Their parents must be awful people.

  5. I rate this CD a full 5 stars because it is very effective in providing a BREAK from all the modern female adult recording artists, the "techno-...", who feel that they must dress in tight plastic pants, low hip hugger jeans, get breast enlargements, get plastic surgery, wiggle their butts, show off their breasts, and generally use their body and sex appeal to PEDDLE THEIR ... MUSIC. And in most cases (a) Their voices are electronically altered (b) You hear that same techno-beat in the background.Thank God for the innocent and clean Olsen Twins! I love all their sweet cute music! My favorite song on this CD is "I'd Rather Be Surfing". Other songs that I like best include: "Dancing your Dreams", "Ice Cream Crazy", "I am the Cute One", and "Brother for Sale". The others songs are good also! I just named my favorites. UNFORTUNATELY: If the Olsen's want to continue in the music/entertainment industry they better plan on in a few years or so (a) getting breast enlargements (b) getting married and divorced every other year (c) wearing cloths that show A LOT MORE FLESH (d) flashing that "Eve-bit-the-forbidden-apple" sexually alluring expression look, as they sing their songs. (e) of course shake their butts and show some breast.....YES, OLSEN TWINS, in a few more years it will be time to unfortuately, and I repeat in all sincerity, UNFORTUNATELY GROW UP TO BE "ADULT" ENTERTAINERS!Thank God I have this beautifull music of your "Greatest Hits" preserved on CD to last my lifetime!!!

5 comments about Disney's Greatest Pop Hits: A Decade Of Radio Singles.

  1. I am a Disney fan. I admit it freely and without shame. So naturally when I saw this album I decided that I had to have it. It starts off great, with the modern Lion King and other Disney favorites, in all their radio version glory. Unfortunately, there is a notable gap in the playlist. The cd does not include the Beauty and the Beast duet, which is one of the best radion version Disney songs out there. And I also was disappointed to see the caliber of the songs degrade as the cd progressed. The last few songs on the cd were not worth hearing, and certainly do not deserve to be considered the Greatest pop hits. I was annoyed enough to burn the songs I liked and add Beauty and the Beast and You'll Be in My Heart from Tarzan, creating a cd that truly deserved the name Greatest Pop Hits.

  2. I thought this CD is very, very good. I really have the tape verison I got for my bithday but it's the same thing. It has songs from the movies The Lion King, Aladdin, Pocahontas, Toy Story, Cinderella, Hercules, and others. And different artists Elton John, Venessa Williams, Peabo Bryson, Regina Belle Randy Newmen, Lyle Lovett, Jon Secada, Linda Ronstadt, Donna Summer, Jimmy Cliff and many others. I think this cd or tape is really good for little kids who like the movies the songs on this cd(or tape) are from. I recommed this cd(or tape) for any age but more little kids. Most of songs on this cd are beautiful or fun to lesson to or sing along. It has the song If I Never Knew You that was cut out from the movie Pocahontas! Buy it Today.

  3. Cute tape. Nice songs. I agree with the person who said they wished "Beauty and the Beast" featuring Celine Dion was on there. "Never Alone" is so sweet you could cry. The best-ever Elton songs, "Circle" and "Can You Feel" are on here, and so is the so-beautiful "Colors of the Wind" by Vanessa Williams. If you are a fan of pop, Disney or both, get this CD today!

  4. I don't know about all you people all there, adults and children alike, but I thought that the Disney songs in the movie were dull and boring. However, when I got this CD out of a GOOD recommendation, I noticed these songs were from the ending credits, beginning credits, etc. (Which were the exact songs I enjoyed the most!) I especially liked several of the songs on this album including "Can you feel the love tonight" from Elton John; "Whole New World" from Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle; "Circle of Life" from Elton John again; "Colors of the Wind" from Vanessa Williams; "Go the Distance" from Michael Bolton; "If I never knew you" from Jon Secada and Shanice. These six songs were the best on the album, and it is definetely worth your money.

However, if you like the songs in the actual MOVIE itself (not ending/beginning credits); May I suggest the Classic Disney albums. This album series has five, I believe, in its series. I do not suggest wasting your money and buying all of them. I especially liked the 1st and 2nd album; you may also take a look at the most recent (the 5th album). Great stuff, don't miss out.

  5. I really enjoyed this album a lot, but I never heard the song sung by Celine Diona and Peobo Bryson, the ultimately beautiful Beauty and the Beast ballad. Why is that song not on this album? Other than that, I felt that this album was spectacular.

  1. angala i am in love with you becaise youremind me of a friend i met 12 years ago wow virgina rios looks just like angala i wish i could have known angalas last name does the show en this onever tell you min arives again in this one a bigger min wow! Virgina have been goten soo big since last time ive seen her thid agust thanks barney christian

  2. My 2 to 5 year old group of family and friends who absoutely LOVE "Songs Fron The Park" invariably get bored with this DVD and walk away from it. A few of the songs excite them somewhat but over all this is a take it or leave it video . . . more or less taken because that's whats in the machine. Give them a choice and they choose something else every time.

Wouldn't waste my money if I was you.

    SandPit

  3. I purchased this DVD for my daughter (20 months). She wouldn't even watch it the first few times I played it. We put it away for a couple months and now she will watch parts of it, but prefers other videos more. I can't comment on the voice issue as I don't watch enough Barney to really pay attention, and since we are recent Barney converts having a new cast doesn't bother me. The song are not very engaging though, there is a lot of talking, and really no songs that my daughter would recognize.

    How I rated
*Educational value: the DVD does encourage reading and activity.
Entertaining to children: my daughter doesn't really like this video all that much
Entertaining to adults: I can't stand to sit through it
*cost: on par with most videos
general: nothing else really good to say about this, and in fact took a star away because of the annoying ads in the front. YOu have to fast forward through them and you can't simply skip to the menu. I hate this.

  4. I was very disappointed to find that this is a 2003 DVD, not an old one. Why does it have the year as 1992? The new Barney and Baby Bop voices are very annoying. I was looking for a particular video with last year's kids... this is NOT it.. Only Baby Bop is on the cover, so there's no way to know..

My 2 and 3 year old boys did not sit to watch this for more than 2 or 3 minutes, I can't explain why. We did sit down to get relaxed towards the end and discovered that this does not end with Barney's Famous "I love you" song... It ended rather apruptly. This might sound silly - but the kids get to knowing when the video is coming to an end... and bedtime is near... :-)

I am also disappointed in the new Barney videos which run like a VHS tape, you cannot jump to favorite songs, you have to fast forward and rewind. This does not work well at bedtime when we need to get closer to the end... they can see what's being fast forwarded past...not good.

VERY DISAPPOINTED! I want the old Barney and the old kids back!

  5. My daughter has many Barney DVDs and this is her favorite. I decided I had to write a review after reading the only other posted review. Barney's voice is indeed annoying, but the new cast has a lot of talent. All of the dinos dance really well and the children are adorable. This DVD has the current cast members, so if your child likes the show, they are going to love this DVD!

2 comments about Kidsongs: My Favorite Kidsongs Collection.

  1. if you know and love the kidsongs dvds then you will enjoy this. my kids are big kidsong fans and this keeps them quiet for long car rides. it's a joy now to go any where when we will be in the car for a long period of time. All the songs you know and love are here. the classics such as little bo peep or mary had a little lamb to kidsongs theme song are here. great pick and if my kids loved it then i believe yours will to.

  2. if you remember the Kidsongs videos and TV Show with The Kidsongs Kids this set is for you. It features music from all 24 Kidsongs Music video stories!!! Even if you never seen the Show or the videos your kids will still enjoy classic songs like Old MacDonald and Polly Wolly Doodle. The only disappointment is the that they should of included more songs from their Christmas DVD because the CD soundtrack of the entire DVD is out-of-print. That CD is one of my favorite Christmas albums. Also it has The Kidsongs TV Show Theme. It was not taken directly from the Show. It was Re-Recorded to make it longer. I wish they put the verson where The Kidsongs Kids ask the producer to use the studio and she says "You Got It!". If you have seen the Show you know what I mean. I wish the TV Show would come to DVD. Other than that, Awesome CD set.

5 comments about Davey and Goliath, Vol. 2: Learning About Caring for Others.

  1. Davey and Goliath are a favorite from my childhood. Thaey were produced b the Lutheran church but there is not "religion" taught in these wonderful stories. Just good family moral values that our children need more than ever. Things like loving your neighbor, telling the truth, giving to others being better than getting all for youself. And admit it who doesn't love the fact that Goliath the dog talks. These are classics and all children should see them starting at a young age.

  2. Enlightening and educational. Back to Basics/Family oriented. What this world needs.

  3. The audio was not as poor as that. I enjoyed it and the other 3 volumes as well. It brought back fond memories. Maybe others should judge for themselves. I will go back and review Volume 2 and if I am in error, I will make the correction to it. It brought back wonderful memories.
UPDATE: The sound quality here is good, had to turn down the volume as it was loud. Will be getting the holiday specials as well. Volume 2 deserves the 5 star rating.

  4. see reviews for other vols 1,2,3 all these dvds audio produced badly. I would recommend checking others before vols 1,2 or 3

  5. This item is set to release 10/18/2005. But also scheduled to release in October/November, 2005 are Volumes 3,4 and the Holiday Spectacular. What isn't clear so far, is that the Holiday Spectacular IS Volumes 2, 3, and 4 in one package, according to the distributor's website: Starlight Home Entertainment. So save your money and just buy the Holiday Spectacular 3-disk set. You get 18 15-minute episodes, plus three 30-minute Holiday-themed episodes (Halloween, Christmas, New Years) for a total of 6 hours of viewing.
