5 comments about Barney - Let's Go to the Zoo.

  1. My 5 year old and 18 month old loved this so much! We watched it and went straight to the zoo! Now they watch it over and over and relive their zoo trip. The video was very educational and takes you on a real tour of the zoo. Perfect if you can't actually get their!

  2. This video is pretty good that will have your child's attention and will want to see it again. The kids will enjoy watching real life animals at the zoo.

  3. My son loves Barney and I think the messages are great about sharing and accepting others etc. The problem with this DVD is that Barney's voice is muted and not as "excited" as he usually is on the TV show. It is noticeable enough that if your child is really into Barney--I would not recommend it. If it wasn't for that --which is a big part of the DVD since Barney talks throughout it--the actually animal presentations are nice.

  4. As much as I try to control tv watching, my sons (26 month) LOVES this DVD and asks for it "watch Barney?" (he likes Thomas the Tank Engine but asks for Barney more often). He sings along and imitates what they are doing. While I personally don't like Barney, it's a hit with the kids!

  5. My son loves this video of Barney at the Zoo. I was hesitant to buy it at first due to the poor reviews listed here but my son just loves Barney and animals so I gave it a try. He has many of the Barney DVDs but this one is definitely one of the better ones. There are a tons of different animals which are helping to teach him to say different and new words. He can watch it again and again and loves it each time like it's new.

5 comments about Thomas the Tank Engine - Best of Thomas.

  1. This DVD forces you to watch boatloads of commercials. It will not allow you to skip or even fast forward through them.

  2. The DVD has a terrible amount of advertising that you're forced to watch before you can see any of the Thomas stories. It's advertising other Thomas products, so it's actually interesting the first time through. But you'll be forced to watch the advertising EVERY time you play this. Other DVDs are programmed so you can jump straight to the menu and skip the advertising. Not this one.

Once you run the advertising gauntlet and earn the right to watch videos, they're excellent as always. But given that all the Thomas collections are excellent, you should buy something other than this one.

  3. This is one of the nicest Thomas videos out there, in our opinion. It's just very nice how the engines work together, work out their problems together, and support each other along the way. It's particularly interesting when they show the breakdown train getting James out of the mud and onto the track again after those bad freight cars shove him off the track. They get taught a lesson in this video and it's quite nice. When the trains are getting prepared to meet the Queen, then the really shine.

This video is full of great lessons and very well done graphics. This is actually one of our favorites and it gets watched in our house quite often. My little one just loves it. Great video and a great price!

  4. Here is Best of Thomas. Now the stories on here are good but there were alot more out there that should've been one this video. Let me start by saying that they didn't put one of the greatest stories of all time on here, Thomas Comes To Breakfast. That one was a perfect Thomas episode. Other ones that should have been on here include Thomas Gets Tricked, Trust Thomas, Thomas and Bertie's Great Race, Thomas Goes Fishing, Double Trouble, Better Late Than Ever, The Runaway, I could go on for ever but I'm sure you get my point. Thomas & Stepney and A New Friend For Thomas should not have been on here because Thomas is not the main character in both of these even though the title might have his name in it. I had to give this one 4 stars because of the numurous amount of Thomas stories that could have been on here and weren't. A part 2 of Best of Thomas might be needed. Anyway, this is a great video to buy because it does have some great Thomas moments. Here are the stories: Thomas Gets Bumped, A New Friend For Thomas, Thomas Percy and the dragon, Thomas Saves The Day, Trouble For Thomas, Thomas & Stepney, A Big Day For Thomas, Thomas Meets The Queen, and the music video "Really Useful Engine". And that wrapps up my review for Best of Thomas, hope it was helpful for you. :)

  5. Let me start of by saying that viewer selected doesn't mean they have to be great. Thomas's first ever episode Thomas gets Tricked wasn't even in it. I thought Better Late than Never, Thomas comes to Breakfast, Thomas Breaks the Rules, and Thomas and Bertie's Great Race were far better than some of these like Thomas and Stepney or a New Friend for Thomas. Were they really that good. Thomas was barely in both of them. Thomas meets the Queen didn't excalty focus on Thomas. Are these viewers really stupid becasue these epiodes weren't great. And I really think they shoulda kept the Ringo Starr narrations.

5 comments about Brainy Baby - Spanish.

  1. I am a hispanic mother married to an american. I am the only source of Spanish in my household and it is very important to me that my baby learns Spanish. My 18 month old baby has been watching this DVD for about a month now. She sits and watches without interruption for most of the DVD. She really likes it and it's bearable for me to watch with her. Some of the words in the Maria tenia un Corderito song are not pronounced correctly. Also, they use the word Creyón (crayon) which does not appear in the dictionary of the Real Academia Española. My baby seems to like this DVD much better than Cantarima's Numeros y Figuras. This DVD's length is much better than Cantarima. I would recommend and give Brainy Baby - Spanish as a gift.

  2. Bought this for my 18 month old. He has no interest, would rather watch Plaza Sesamo (sesame street) or the Cantarima series. This is toward older children I assume.

  3. For those of you who want a bilingual child, starting early is the best way to achieve success. Brainy Baby is a great place to start!

  4. I bought this for my 21 month old daughter. She is in a bilingual class once a week with Boca Beth materials but this DVD got better reviews so I bought this one. She likes it but only for about 20 mins and then she asks to watch something else. Her attention span at the class is short too - maybe too much new stuff at once??

  5. My two year old and my 7 month like the video. The words are basic and are repeated enough so my two year old is able to follow with no problem. My toddler enjoys the video and I noticed that she is starting to repeat what is said in the video. Also she started using the sentences from the video on actual conversation such as pointing to the clouds and saying "Nubes blancas".

5 comments about Wonder Pets - Save the Beetles!.

  1. My 10 month old cannot get enough of the Wonder Pets. She even rocks and tries to dance when she hears the songs. This one is great, although I wish the Beattle segment was longer. I actually like and approve of Wonder Pets for her, b/c they are sending a good message. Plus I do not have to listen to the schreching, nails on chalk board, screeming from dora the explorer. Dora drives us crazy. More Wonder Pets..........

  2. Well this is everything a Baby Boomer gran or auntie needs to see to guarantee a purchase! It's a combination British Invasion music "tribute" with tons of Beatle references and precious, funny animals! There's no violence and no scary guys to make it anything but perfect for its intended audience -- Babies and Boomers who love them!

    I'm sold. How about you?

  3. Super! This is a darling television show. My entire family (teens included) laughed and cheered throughout the DVD. We can't wait to share it with cousins this summer.

  4. No bad guys, no strong or border line language. Nothing close to scary. It's baby animals saving baby animals, so it's a safe purchase for young kids. The episodes are great for introducing new concepts and animals to little ones.

Each episode runs about 10 minutes so it's easy to track how much tv is being watched.

  5. The Wonder Pets! get groovy in the newest release, "Save the Beetles!" Yes, the Wonder Pets are called up on the ol' telly with a request for help from four members of a famous rock band, the Beetles, whose yellow submarine has gotten tangled up in kelp. As they journey to rescue them, they'll dive straight into Beatlemania pop-culture (and reference numerous Beatles song titles and lyrics along the way!) It's a fun journey, with two of the Beetles being voiced by... well, no, not the Beatles themselves, but by members of the cast of the stage play "Beatlemania!"

In the second half, "Three Wonder Pets and a Baby!," the Wonder Pets find themselves with a baby on their hands -- a baby pig! This one is really cute and could quickly become a fan favorite. It may be even more fun than "Save the Beetles!" There are many cute baby-related things, including various pictures of actual babies (my guess is children of the show staff.)

None of the other episodes released on this DVD are new either. Still, they're good content. One of them is "Save the Chameleon / Save the Platypus." "Save the Platypus" is particularly good, because it shows how a friend and team-member (Linny) can maintain a level-head when two others (Tuck and Ming-Ming) are arguing. There's also "Save the Duckling / Save the Kitten" and "Save the Sheep / Save the Hermit Crab" (music from both of these stories is featured on the "Wonder Pets!" album release.)

It's a shame that this DVD continues the tradition of not really including much in the way of special feature content. The only real special feature is the "Kelp!" music video -- which is just an easier way to access content that is already part of the episode. I was really hoping for behind-the-scenes stuff on "Save the Beetles!" -- "The Backyardigans," after all, gave us a behind-the-scenes look at "International Superspy," complete with scenes of Cyndi Lauper recording a song for it.

5 comments about Blue's Clues - Blue's Big Band.

  1. Encourages brushing your teeth before bed. Seemed kinda short compared to other Blues movies. It teaches coordination with rythme. I like this movie for my daughter and she enjoys it also. She is 18 months.

  2. We gave this DVD to my Granddaughter for Easter and she just loves it. She is learning a lot from Blues Clues, both DVD's and TV shows.

  3. i love that it teaches about music. i wish it had more school-oriented ideas, though. Joe doesnt do it for me like Steve did, but what the hey, my son likes him.

  4. Blue's Clues is one of those odd shows that just transfixes kids. Especially mine. She loves Steve and Joe and loves music so I ordered this for her and I was not disappointed. She really digs it!

  5. All Blue's are great...well at least my 2 yeard old thinks so. Although not his favorite but still it will keep his attention.

5 comments about Disney Silly Songs: 20 Simply Super Singable Silly Songs.

  1. Some of these songs i think are very old and not for today's market. Not catchy. Sorry disney its a bust from me.

  2. Lots of silly songs, many are the kind kids used to sing at camp way back when. Good fun for the family. Great for playing in the car on trips.

  3. I remember listening to those songs on a tape when I was in elementary school. I loved it. I played the tape on our tape player in our living room when I was in middle school and my mom says those were stupid. My dad told me that time it was for little kids.

  4. My sister and I had this record growing up and we would listen to it on road trips with our parents all the time. I remember most of the words and I love being able to share these timeless songs with my 16-month-old son. He's already singing along even though he can't say the words yet! I definitely recommend this CD for all children!

  5. My brother and I used to listen to this all the time when we were kids. Every once in a while we will still sing the songs together, we are 24 and 25 years old. I am so psyched to find the cd, Im getting one for my brother for christmas. He is going to get the biggest kick out of it! This is a must have for all kids. One of the greatest CDs ever!

5 comments about Disney's Greatest 3.

  1. My family loves listening to this CD. We have numerous Disney music CD's and we listen to them constantly in the car. I would defintely recommend this to any Disney fan.

  2. The songs on this cd are a bit more "adult" than on the others. I really enjoy, but the kids don't really ask for this one.

  3. The songs on this CD are a little newer and less "classic-ish" than the songs on previous albums in this line, but I still find them to be a good completion to my collection. Again, there is a variety of songs, which is good for car trips and such.

  4. I ordered all 3 of the Disney's greatest cds for our road trip to Disney world and they are all awesome! This one is not as good as the first and second but it rounds out the collection well.

  5. Right from the beginning, this CD will move you. Track 1 "I'll Try" might be the most under-rated or under-appreciated Disney track of all-time. Following this is equally engaging "When She Loved Me" from Toy Story. Other good tracks include light-hearted "Gaston" from Beauty and the Beast and o course The Siamese Cat song, which is a classic.

I held off purchasing this CD as I have other Disney CDs with overlapping tracks, and those tracks on this CD I was unaware of didn't interest me. I'm glad I bought this CD though, because I didn't know what I was missing.

5 comments about Little People - Friendship Collection.

  1. my two girls, 3 and 1.5, are completely addicted. we allow them to watch one video or tv show a day and it is almost always a little people video.

  2. This is a great video for kids. My little girl loves the Little People.

  3. Our daughter loves the little people. The stories are very nice, positive, and fun.

  4. This sappy little show has captured my 20 month olds attention from the first viewing. The stories are sweet and short (5 minutes each). She loves the song and all the characters. She does NOT like the episode with the clown, so we skip that one...this is a great DVD for the 2 1/2 and under crowd.

  5. My 16 month old daughter loves these DVDs. She can watch each episode over and over.

These are nice stories, a good message, brilliant colors.

(I could do without Aaron Neville singing....rotten "Little People" theme song gets stuck in my head!).

5 comments about Brainy Baby: English.

  1. I bought this video because I'm working with my son to try to get him to start saying some words. This video got great review, thus being the reason for my purchase of this specific product. It was so boring that it put my son to sleep! We watched it after he had gotten up from his nap, actually. It's no better than Baby Einstein - which is a great concept for the little ones - but not good for toddlers. My son can communicate very well receptively, which might be the reason for him not having any interest in this video. We bought a Baby Babble video which seemed to engage him much better.

  2. Brainy Baby dvd are not as popular as Baby Einstein, of course Baby Einstein are from Disney, so more money is spent on advertisement; im my home, Brainy Baby dvds have been much more effective in teaching my children. The programming is of good quality and my children learned not only what the dvds taugh, but also how to read the words for every concept taught (my six year old was reading the brainy baby words by age 2yrs, 3mos, my four year old by age 1yr, 11mos, I now have a nine month old, lets see...

  3. I think these are probably a little better made then the baby einstein videos however my active 2 year old wouldn't watch more than 5 minutes of this at a time. It just couldn't hold his attention.
We also just bought The Leap Frog Letters DVD and he is actually really enjoying that one.

  4. This is alot like flash cards on TV. I sit with my twins while watching this talking about it with them, about 2/3 thru the dvd we all are ready to goudge our eyes out. It gets irritating very fast imo. Some kids and parents may really like this dvd, it just didn't fly at our house.

I (we) do very much like the 2 other Brainy Baby dvds we have : ).

  5. Better then baby einstein and more interesting to watch for child and parent! This is my favorite one!
