5 comments about Baby Einstein: Lullaby Classics, Vol. 2.
- It has different classical music composers and music selections. If you bought the Baby Bach, Bay Mozart #1 and #2, there will be some repeats. I still enjoy the music selections of the other composers.
- This is great CD. We love Vol. 1 but it was getting a little over played so we bought Vol. 2. It's THE best thing for a car ride. Especially with a fussy baby who hates cars.
- My son had a rough time giving up his musical mobile. He needed the music to help him calm down as he was falling asleep.
In a moment of desperation, I purchased both this CD and volume 1 of the Lullaby Classics.
When I played the CD I was pleasantly surprised, that the music on the CD was very calming. I also know most of the songs which made it more enjoyable. I even enjoy hearing it on the baby monitor when my son was trying to fall asleep.
- This is a very nice cd to have home, it's the best way of introducing music to your baby. Amazing composers, great selection and the instruments used, made it easy for "little ears". It's a calming, sweet way of putting your baby to bed. Everytime I have time I turn it on and give a full body massage in my daughter... we both love it.
- These are so good for the young kids in your family!!! I love all their products

5 comments about The Happiest Toddler on the Block DVD with Bonus Spanish Track.
- I had seen Dr. Harper's "The Happiest Baby on the Block" and found it extremely helpful in dealing with newborns to help them calm down when crying and to sleep better. All his suggestions and techniques I found to be very effective. With "The Happiest Toddler on the Block", Dr. Harper is also very good in giving ideas to deal with toddlers who are having problems communicating their feelings and desires and do so throwing tantrums. Dr. Harper offers very helpful techniques to understand the little ones and help them be happier by having the adults around them respond in manners that are more appropriate to their developmental level. I haven't yet tried the techniques but I sent a copy to my son who has a two year old daughter. I'm waiting to hear from him to see what he thinks. The parents who participated in both videos appeared to have learned the techniques and found them very helpful.
- I purchased this for my daughter. Her baby is one yr. old and already showing signs of temper tantrums. We watched it together and I was amazed that no one thought of this method before. It's just plain common sense. It's basically a baby version of the Faber/Mazlish "Talk/Listen" book that was our bible. Thanks for offering this.
- My husband and I got the book first and decided to get the dvd to make sure we were doing the techniques right. All I can say is, the toddlerese just fuels our little one's fire and makes the tantrums even worse than they were to start with. We have what Dr. Karp calls a "spirited" toddler and these methods just plain didn't work. I really wish they would - the only thing we can get to work so far with our 2 1/4 year old is to ignore the tantrum and let her calm down before trying to communicate any further with her. Also, our daughter communicates with us much above the level that Dr. Karp indicates in his book - even when she is in a rage of tantrum, maybe that's why this doesn't work for her - who knows. Best wishes to all those that do try this though. I guess it must work for some people!
UPDATE: We have found that the underlying methods in this do work with our toddler, but we had to modify how we used it. For instance, our toddler doesn't appreciate the toddlerese, but the fast food method definitely works and with a little further guidance from Dr. Karp it has made some difference in our toddler's tantrums and behavior. Definitely try different approaches with the ideas from this method in mind if you don't find it working.
- Not as good as the book b/c it doesn't explain the philosophy behind the method. But it is nice that they get right to the point. My husband who did not read the book, thought the tactic was silly and got angry that the dr. wants you to talk to your kids like cavemen. He understood after I explained that you don't talk to them like that all the time, just when they are upset. But at least he can get the information without picking up a book (that will be the day!).
- I bought the book and the DVD. You really should have both. Brilliant insights and supports for even the most educated of parents. I would say you can't live with DVD alone.

5 comments about Hi-5: Move Your Body.
- Hi-5 is a great DVD for kids. My 19 month old daughter cannot get enough. They are very educational and get the kids up and moving!!!
- My two year old boy loves all the Hi-5 videos. He can watch it over and over again (The Hi-5 videos are the only ones that he will watch the entire 45 minutes). He loves the songs and sings along with the Hi-fiver. Strongly recommended for children of all ages.
- My girls LOVE Hi5, but it is on too early in the morning for them here. Having the videos are great!! I was so happy to find them on Amazon!
The Easter Bunny left 5 of them for my girls and we have already watched 4 (Easter was just yesterday!) They'll probaly watch the 5th one before the end of the day!
- Probably my best recent purchase for my daughter! She loved it! Even though we didn't know exactly the songs that were in it we chose one with only songs she loves! The songs in this DVD are: "Five Senses", "Move Your Body" and "North, South, East and West".
- My son recieved this for his first birthday and fell in love with it...6 months later we now have the full DVD collection. He is absolutely GLUED to the tv when this is on...giving me the chance to cook dinner (which is totally acceptable). One drawback...you will find yourself singing or humming the tunes in your head at work....

5 comments about Teletubbies - Naughty Noo-noo! - Messy Messes and Terrific Tidying.
- My 3 year old absolutely loves this DVD. It's so cute to watch her watch it repeatedly!
- I expected more Noo-noo-centric episodes. But since my 2 year old does not seem to mind as long as Noo-noo just appears in the episode, I'd say that the DVD is not a waste of money.
- Our son loves vacuum cleaners and is therefore fascinated by the naughty noo-noo. This disc was perfect for him
- As long as my baby enjoys it then that's all that matters. Personally I don't care for it.
- My little two year old loves Naughty Noo-Noo and this is definately his favorite DVD! He's not much for sitting still but he will for this - thanks!

5 comments about Beethoven's Wig: Sing Along Symphonies.
- This is a great product. The kids love it. Some reviews have mentioned that the lead vocalist is not very melodic. However, I see this as a plus. He has a zany way of cracking his voice which is a hilarious complement to the other opera-class voices on the CD.
My kids seem to love the instrumental-only versions now that they associate these with the vocal versions.
- I bought this as a birthday gift for a little boy. My kids and I love this CD and like to give it as a gift for other families. It is so fun for the kids, but also it has helped me be able to identify and remember the songs. I tried to think of my favorite song, but I love every one; they are so catchy! "The Kings and Queens of England" is a compact little history lesson. I need to get another copy for myself; one I loaned out never came back. That's okay - this is one CD I want every kid to hear!
- My children are regularly singing the songs from this album, whether they are listening to it or not! It has been a fantastic way to introduce them to various composers. They have become quite good at identifying composers based on their musical styles from this CD! It's a lot of fun!
- We often get children's CDs at the library so we do not get sick of the same songs (especially cheesy children's songs.) But we hadn't gotten this CD in about 2 years and my husband out of the blue suggested it. And then suggested we buy it! That was a shock. Yes, it's that good.
- The Beethovens Wig CD's are so much fun to listen to because of the funny lyrics, while also familiarizing kids with classical music. We love them.

5 comments about Lullaby: A Collection.
- A close friend bought us this CD when I got pregnant.
I played it on a loop for my daughter for the earliest months when she slept and now play it when I'm trying to wind her down at nap time. It's really soothing and calming. If i'm tired when i put it on my eye lids begin to weigh a pound each.
My one complaint is one song, I think it's by take 6, that all the sudden gets very loud. I have to keep the entire volume super low or be prepared to skip that one loud song. An annoying flaw in an otherwise really lovely compilation.
(Tip: Just cut a new CD with your favorites, you'll inevitably like most of these.)
- We all have different taste in music, but for me the first half of this CD is the loveliest. The music is a bit faster and louder toward the end, which doesn't make sense to me since this is when your baby will be (hopefully!) sleeping. The Golden Cradle song has become our favorite (song 2).
- Excellent, soothing, beautiful music. Great harmonies. My daughter has been going to sleep to this for years -- we never tire of it! We have been through a tape and 2 CD's. Sounds crazy, and we have lots of other music. Yet, this is one that soothes us all with so much folky, interesting music. I often give this as a baby or baby shower present.
- I first discovered this CD when I was working in the Children's Section of a large bookstore. Since then, it has been a popular baby gift, but I keep a copy for myself. Everyone needs a lullaby now and then.
- Our daughter has listened to this lullaby tape since her earliest nights. Now she is 7 and a half years old, and of all the great music choices available for her listening pleasure, this one is still her favorite to drift off to sleep with. I must admit I love it too. I logged on to see about getting the CD version, thinking it might be a good idea in case the tape eventually wears out (it hasn't yet) because yes, it really is that good! I have fallen asleep to it myself. It is a masterpiece. The music is high quality, soothing and promotes a feeling of security and peacefulness that naturally calms and relaxes even the most restless soul.

5 comments about Kidsongs - A Day at Old MacDonald's Farm.
- Would not recommend this to a freind.Boring I made the kids sit through it once and then it was put away for ever!!!
- A few months ago my 2 year old daughter (who never wants to watch tv/movies) chose Kidsongs "A visit to Old MacDonald's Farm" to check out from the library. She absolutely loved it and was very mesmerized by it. After checking it out every week for over a month I ordered it from amazon.com. I run a Montessori preschool out of my home and showed it to the children one day for movie friday and now that's all they want to watch! They love to sing along and go through the motions. My daughter has become obsessed with Scarecrow (the host of the movie) and will be a scarecrow for Halloween. I've yet to show the movie to a kid that doesn't love it. I also recommend the Kidsongs Circus movie.
- This is our second Kidsongs video, and while the songs are all good, I'd recommend the parents to avoid this one if your child's afraid of clowns. The scarecrow, a central character in the video, is not exactly a cuddly, reassuring presence. Furthermore, his facial makeup is like a clown's. My 2.5 year old son's afraid of clowns, as many kids are, and thus he doesn't like to watch this video.
- One of our very favorite kidsong episodes!!
Great entertainment (looks dated, especially the costumes and make-up).
The singing, dancing and kid participation are just excellent !!
We love this one even with the dated look.
- My grandkids are crazy about this video. They have watched it over and over.

5 comments about Sing Along Songs - Disneyland Fun.
- The other reviewers have good points, but I don't think anyone has mentioned what I think is the most fun feature on this DVD! But more on that in a moment.
First, the people giving negative reviews have two good points - this thing IS a little dated, and the song "Grim Grinning Ghosts" can be scary for young kids. (I can't remember any other major criticisms...) Having said that, I really like the return to 1989: Big hair! Guys wearing pink (non-ironically)! The PeopleMover! Party Gras! It's a little like watching one of those World of Disney shows from the Sixties. My kids didn't like the song "GGG" at first, but I watch it with them, and we discuss the relevant issues - that it's just pretend, that there are people in those costumes, and that sometimes it's fun to be scared. I think they'll be ready for the Mansion next time we go to Anaheim...
But there's so much more to love on this video! The songs are fun, and it's great to learn some of these lyrics to sing along at the park. I can no longer walk down Main Street without humming the catchy second song on the disc, and the up-tempo "Zip-A-Dee-Do-Dah" is cool, complete with the requisite horrible rap break in the middle (so common in the Eighties). And since it was 1989, they were also trying to cram Roger Rabbit down our throats at every opportunity (sorry, Roger - great attraction, but you're not a "classic")!
The most fun, though, is sort of an easter egg, and I haven't heard anyone else mention it. On the "set up" menu for the DVD, it gives you the option to switch the language to French. Haven't tried it? I don't blame you, I don't speak French either. But when you choose that option, instead of just a translation, you get an entirely different video - shot at Disneyland Paris! It's a beautiful park, and the video shows some things I've heard of, but never seen, like Alice's Curious Labyrinth and the dragon lying in wait beneath the castle. Plus, the Phantom Manor song features the mysterious Phantom himself, and a real treat for Haunted Mansion geeks: a beating-heart Bride face character!
To sum up:
* Yes, the video is dated and a bit dorky, but there are those of us that embrace that sort of thing.
* The Haunted Mansion is creepy, so don't leave your kids there alone.
* Roger Rabbit was never as successful a franchise as Disney had hoped.
* Disneyland looks pretty much the same today as it did twenty years ago (except Tomorrowland, which does not look as modern now as it did then).
* And even if you don't speak French, Disneyland Paris is a great place to spend part of your day.
- Wow! What a great video to prepare your children for the Big trip to Disney! This video highlights songs and characters and Disney attractions. My 4 and 2 year old boys love to watch this DVD and in my opinion has well prepared them for our trip. Just wish it was a bit more up to date. The video features Roger Rabbit...and early 90's attire and hairstyles. (At least the styles give my wife and I a good laugh!)
- OK, this video is for my 4 and 2 year olds but I find it charming and strangely reflective. It was shot in the early 90's right about the time I was graduating from high school so the scenery and fashions really bring back some memories. It also provides a time-capsule look at rides gone past like the People Mover, Skyway, the OLD Tom Sawyer's Island, Tomorrowland before the makeover and more. The kids love it too and seem to really enjoy the "Main Street USA" and "Step-N-Time" sequences. Good production values and fun for the kids.
- My 4 year old daughter loves all things Disney and enjoys other Disney sing along DVDs. I bought this one because other reviews said it helped get their children excited for a trip to Disney, being filmed in the park. I turned it on for my daughter, watched for a few minutes, and then went to cook dinner in the kitchen. About 20 minutes later she came running in with tears streaming down her face, terrified of the "bad guys." When I watched the DVD later, I realized there is a song from the Haunted Mansion that features the Disney villians including the always scary witch from Snow White, as well as a variety of ghosts, haunted trees, and even the floating witch head you see in a crystal ball while on the Haunted Mansion ride. Yes, too scary for a little kid.
I think including this segment was totally unecessary and showed VERY poor judgement on the part of the Disney producers. Now my daughter refuses to watch the DVD (not that I'd let her), and is adament that she does NOT want to go to Disneyworld where the "bad guys live." Not exactly the outcome I was hoping for!
Do yourself a favor and spare your child the nightmare imagery. Buy a different DVD.
- All of my children have been mesmerized by this DVD. We go to Disney World often so they love watching it over and over again.
