5 comments about Children's Songs, A Collection of Childhood Favorites.

1. So, for months upon months upon months our toddler wasn't happy riding in the car. I had to sing "The wheels on the bus" about 50 million times to her (until my voice gave out) to keep her from crying and it wasn't so bad the first 100 times or so but it got old pretty fast.
   
   This CD has saved my sanity and voice!!!! Ever since the first time I played this CD in the car everything has changed. My daughter now calls this "her music" and asks to have it playing all the time (and she now knows the words to almost all the songs!). Car rides are no longer marathon singing events for me. AND the songs are SO fun and original!! (You know it's good when your kids fall asleep in the car and you catch yourself singing along long after you could've already turned it off...)



2. We took this CD on a recent road trip. My boys (ages 3 and almost 5) loved it and asked to hear it again and again. It isn't annoying to listen to as a parent. I admit that I skipped the strange versions of Monkeys On the Bed and Pop Goes the Weasel but other than that, this CD is a winner.



3. I have to agree with the small minority of people who dislike this CD. If you're looking for CD with traditional songs sung in a traditional manner this is not the CD for you (or me). There's a nice variety of familiar songs on this CD, but many of them have been altered to sound "updated" and ended up sounding annoying - especially Pop Goes the Weasel, Monkeys on the Bed and Do Your Ears Hang Low. I skip past those! For a more traditional CD, buy the Disney Children's Songs series (4 inexpensive separate discs - not a set).



4. We have such a good time listening to Children's Songs! My 1.5 year old and I wiggle and sing to the great songs! It's like the voice I always thought I sounded like, but she's soulfully good!!! I think this is a great investment in our music collection. A CD that we return to time and time again; we cherish it in our home!



5. I play the collection of Children Songs for my grandchildren, who love them. I also give other CD's by the singer as presents at baby showers for friends and family. They are wonderful. Everyone who receives them comments on how great they are and that their children appear to respond in a positive manner.

1. If you are a big Spongebob fan, you'll love this! Spongebob desperately wants to be the new manager at The Krusty Krab 2. After Mr. Krabs gives the job to Squidward, Spongebob is very depressed and goes to the Goofy Goober to have ice cream with his best friend, Patrick. The next day, King Neptune's crown has been stolen by Plankton and the evidence points to Mr. Krabs. Although Spongebob is still pissed at Mr. Krabs, he wants to help find the crown before King Neptune will execute Krabs. Spongebob and Patrick head to Shell City to find the crown. (I love when Spongebon jams down onb a guitar toward the end!) Since they are a little dim-witted, they get into a lot of misadventures along the way. Will Spongebob and Patrick get the crown, save the town, and Mr. Krabs? If you love Spongebob, you'll love THE SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS MOVIE!!!



2. I loved this movie from the time I first saw it. As soon as I saw the title I thought"I'd better get this on DVD". Thre WERE a few parts I didn't get (and still don't) And parts I didn't get then figured out but didn't think was funny and some I didn't get but figured out and thought it was really funny. I've watched this over one skillion. times. Adults,teenagers,and children will love the movie of a very spongey loveable guy and his friends



3. My two year old and I watch this movie nearly every day. We love to sing along, get up and dance and even fall asleep to this movie. Not so educational, but great uplifting overtones.



4. GREAT MOVIE (!) THAT I RECOMMEND TO ANY SPONGEBOB FAN (JUNKIES, CASUAL FANS, HATERS, ETC.). I'M NOT GOING TO COMPARE THIS TO THE SERIES BECAUSE THEY'RE BOTH REALLY GOOD, AND BOTH DESERVE TO BE BOUGHT!

Ask almost any kid (or more than a few college students) who lives in a pineapple under the sea, and the answer will be the same--SpongeBob Squarepants, the titular hero of this wild adventure through the ocean depths. Facing the dangers of Plankton, King Neptune, bikers, hitmen, cyclops, and Hasselhoff, Spongebob and his BFF Patrick must tread all these dangers to save the future of Bikini Bottom and the Krusty Krab.
   
   The film's brightest moments are its most bizarre, like Patrick and Spongebob's bubble dance in a tough guy bar bathroom, the duo's musical montage through a dark ravine filled with all sorts hideous monsters, and their faceoff against a hitman onboard the SS Hasselhoff. At times the gags are fast and furious, but at times one is left feeling that they were stretching a few scenes out to justify the cost of making them.
   
   The animation and art throughout the film are greatly improved while still maintaining the style and feel from the television series, a difficult feat to achieve. The new backgrounds and character designs are gorgeous, and if there was 3d done on the project, it didn't show.
   
   The new characters are memorable, but their line reads don't have the same magic that the regular cast has. Neptune's daughter, voiced by Scarlett Johansson, feels flat and doesn't seem to really interact with the primary cast until the film nears its end. However, these new characters come at a cost. As is often the case with animated films, the secondary characters are largely MIA throughout the film. Fans of Mr. Krabs, Sandy Cheeks, or even Squidward will largely be disappointed.
   
   The ending descends into the depths of the bizarre. What started as a beautiful buddy adventure pic falls into the utterly outlandish, including the obligatory Spongebob rock sequence and more than a few disturbing (but G-rated) up close shots of David Hasselhoff. The theme of the film, that kids are important, is repeated more and more as the film nears its end. While a bit over the top, it's a positive message for kids and helps to move the plot forward.
   
   The video on the DVD, presented in the original widescreen format, is clean and the sound is acceptable. There are a few featurettes on the disc, but nothing that spectacular or memorable. While fans might pine for a more full-featured special edition, the disc has comparable special features as though available on the TV series discs.
   
   Despite the film's shortcomings, it was still a fast and enjoyable 90 minute ride. Fans of the series will love it, and those with children will find the film surprisingly enjoyable. It stands admirably well as a companion to the original two or three seasons of the series.

1. This wonderful CD has 14 great Disney tunes. There's everything from Once Upon A Dream to Belle, and even three new tunes from Disney's Princess works. They bring back lots of great memories - Belle and her dreams, Ariel and the Prince in the boat, Mulan trying to be what is expected of her - it's all great! So, if you have a little princess, then get do her a great favor and get her this CD. Heck, the entire family will love it. We highly recommend this CD to your family.



2. This CD contains all of the great songs from the Disney Princess Movies. This is a favorite in our house - we especially love The Little Mermaid songs. Beware - you will be singing these songs all the time!



3. My daughter is a huge Disney Princess fan (what 5 y/o girl isn't?). I was grateful that the songs were from the original movies as we have most of them and they are more familiar to her. Great for road trips if you as an adult can listen to it more than once!



4. Good album, a bit on the slow song side, but my girls like it. I think I was hoping for more peppy songs instead of ballads, so if that's what you are looking for, buy it.



5. This cd is filled with "princess songs" As soon as I put it on all the girls started to sing and loveeeed it. It's been on at least daily since we received it. They dance along with the music. It's really perfect for all the little princesses out there!!!

5 comments about Singable Songs For The Very Young: Great With A Peanut-Butter Sandwich.

1. My daughter (now 26) still remembers these songs and I just ordered the CD for her to play for her 3 year old son! Raffi is endearing timeless. Enjoy!



2. I had this music for my kids, back in the 1980's and loved it then! I still have the old cassette tape, so I ordered the CD for my grandson. My kids still know the songs and were singing along to the CD. Just cute, fun songs, great for in the car or for play time.



3. My kids LOVED this cd when they were little and it only came on a cassette tape! When my middle daughter became a "Nanny" for several families, we created a "Nanny Bag" with books, toys and music. This CD was an essential ingredient! Raffi's songs ARE singable, the music is fun and his voice is soothing and encourages you to SING ALONG!!! My kids loved it, and so will your little ones!



4. If you have preschoolers and haven't yet been introduced to Raffi ... where have you been?! This is a great place to start with many favorites of my girls (2 & 4). Every song is perfect for singing around the campfire. And, yes, I like it too!

1. My 15 month old twins have loved this movie ever since they started watching it about 5 months ago. This is the only movie that will keep their attention in the car and I have yet to find another that is as entertaining and captivating as this!



2. I purchased this video for my nephew after his first birthday. Neither of us can get enough of it and I can't tell who is more excited when I'm babysitting to watch this video. The final song, a unique version of "Sing" with Ladysmith Black Mambazo is so sweet it nearly makes me cry every time.



3. Be warned! Many of the classic Sesame Street songs listed on the back are only short clips spliced together. Argh!!! We bought this for classics like "Rubber Duckie" and "Put Down the Duckie," expecting to get the full songs that appear on other Sesame Street video compilations. The filler in between is a lot of cheesy 80's music that is too erratic and choppy for younger viewers.



4. I think my husband and I like this video more than my twin 16 month old boys! We know all the words. We all love to sing and dance to this DVD. My husband's favorite part is Bert's pigeon dance and mine is Ernie's "dance myself to sleep". Everyone loves Grover's "wabba-wabba-wabba is a monster song". I highly recommend this video.

1. My 2 year old loves this DVD, and it is his ritual to watch either this DVD, or another Barney DVD he has, everyday after his bath. He knows the order of the songs by now, and sings along to parts of the songs as well.



2. My son is 2 1/2 and loves this movie. Since watching it he's taken a great interest in shapes (particularly triangles)! This DVD is also great for helping him continue to learn his letters.



3. All of my children have grown up on Barney. They especially enjoy the songs which teach the children life skills, the alphabet, and counting. I definitely recommend this video.

5 comments about Sesame Street - Learning About Letters.

1. Both my 22 month old son and his mom love this! Very cute with the characters and clips from the Sesame Street I grew up with and enjoyed. The son is learning the letters and loves ""Cookie".



2. 'Learning About Letters', 'Learning About Numbers', and the '25th Anniversary Special' are the household favorites. This DVD was really well done. 'Learning About Numbers' is still my favorite. Maybe try both?



3. This is an entertaining DVD that has helped all my kids learn the alphabet. I highly recommend it!



4. It's all the friends we know and love but the quality of certain scenes of this DVD are grainy and lacking. My 2 yr old doesn't mind of course. Don't expect much Elmo, mainly Big Bird and every other character.



5. An oldie but a goodie, this Sesame Street ABC is very entertaining for my 3 year olds (a little less so for the 6 year old, but still a fave of his). C is for cookie is an all-time favourite clip. All the letters are covered in such a variety of creative ways it keeps kids interested. A classic.

1. Anything Elmo, and she is hooked. Well at least that's how it was for a LONG time. She's 3 now and little miss grown, but she really did get into all of the Elmo's World DVD's for a while. They kept her occupied, taught her a TON, and weren't all that annoying, as far as kids movies go.



2. This is another great video, but we have an Elmo video titled "Things That Make Elmo Happy" or something like that, and the dancing or music is duplicated in that, which was kind of disappointing, but the video is still great.



3. The movie is fun. My daughter is 20 months old and wants to watch it everyday.



4. my daughter really likes elmo and this dvd was no exception ans she also likes silly mr noodles i loved all the lessons about books, dancing and music



5. My daughter is 2 and loves Elmo. She only wants to watch this movie...over and over and over...The first thing she askes for in the morining is to "watch Elmo!" We actually have to limit her time watching it! I like it because it teaches her a lot about music, dancing, counting, and books.

1. This CD was in excellent condition when it arrived, and serves well as a CD to go to when kids in the classroom have been sitting too long. Movement wakes up the body and the brain!--Donna Coffee



2. The track "We're going on a bear hunt" is enough to make it worth buying the CD. My 2 year old LOVES it! Not so much the other tracks although I have to say we might enjoy it more once we have a chance to listen to it more often (besides the favorite track we keep playing on and on!).



3. This CD is a big hit for toddlers and preschoolers that I've worked with, both in a daycare setting and at home while I babysit. There are lots of interactive songs that the kids can dance and sing to.



4. my daughter is 2 1/2. I saw the kids at her school playing along with this cd and had to get it. We have so much fun and its adorable to watch the excitement in her face.



5. My kids (2 and 4) love this CD! We dance to it a couple of times a week. There are 2 slow songs that my 4-year old makes us skip because we can't dance to them, but that is the only minus to this great CD. We'll be buying more Greg & Steve CD's soon!

1. I bought it from a Disney store. It cost me $13 plus taxes. None of the songs are good. After listening to 2 songs, I found out they all sound the same.
   
   The only good thing about it is it has 2 version for each song. The first version is with vocal (singer singing). The second is karaoke which has only background music. So, if you don't know the song very well, you can sing along with vocal version first.
   
   It's a waste of money.



2. My kids (and I....oh, and my husband) all love High School Musical 2's music. However, this one's missing Sharpay's YOU ARE THE MUSIC IN ME--my absolute favorite song and the hula song at the end. Boo....these are two that you definitely miss. So, while it's good to have the music, the lack of those songs keep it from being great.



3. Who doesn't love a little karaoke?!?!?! If you love karaoke and love High School Musical 2, like I do.....this is the perfect product. I absolutely love it!!



4. My kids and I have quality time singing off key and we love the HSM karaoke cds! Very fun!!!



5. I love this CDG. My music students sing along with the High School Musical cast everyday and love it.
