1. First of all this is a one cd one vhs box set not a two cd box set. The Royal Box is the best of Madonna from 1984 to 1991. The cd has fifteen of her greatest hits and two brand new songs. The cd is called the Immaculate Collection, which can be bought in stores. The vhs is also called the Immaculate Collection, which is currently out of print. The vhs has twelve of Madonna's top videos from the 80's and early 90's as well as a bonus video version of Vogue live from the MTV music video awards. The Royal Box also contains a poster and rare collectible postcards that are exclusive to the box set only. The cd also comes in a bonus special case that opens like a book. The Royal Box is out of print and very hard to find, but if you are a music collector or a big fan of Madonna this is worth it.

2. Great price for three CDS if quantity is what you are looking for. Quality of the music is OK to Good on most tracks....although all the songs seem to be strong on vocals and a bit austere on music. Also, I think all the tracks are covers by artists with sound-alike names (i.e. "I Will Survive" by Gloria GAYGIRL) with the possible exception of Sylvester and Hazel Dean.

   If on the other hand, if one is looking for a selection of 80s-era disco beat tracks to play in the background at the next pool party this summer, this box set will do just fine.




3. The track listing on this 3 CD is very impressive. I played the CD as soon as it arrived - and was dismayed at what I heard. Some of the tracks are re-recordings - but there is no indication either on the CD or the packaging that this is likely to be the case.

   Listening to the tracks by Sylvester for example, it is definitely Sylvester singing - but where has this track come from? Sadly the wonderful Sylvester died over 10 years' ago, so it's not a new recording.

   If you don't know the original recordings - then this set is absolutely fine. But if you are like me, and expect perfection and the original recordings and the original artists - you'll be disappointed with this set.

2. The 2-disc set of Kylie Minogue's 1994 self-titled album from her days with DeConstruction is a timeless classic by the Aussie superstar and a must-have for any Kylie fan.
   
   The first disc contains the smash single "Confide In Me" which went all the way to #1 in Australia. Other great tracks on this disc include "Surrender," "Automatic Love," "Falling," (my personal favorite) and "If I Was Your Lover." From this disc, there are also the 2 other singles released from the album, "Put Yourself In My Place" and "Where Is The Feeling?" Both songs on the album are not the versions found on the Hits Plus album.
   
   The second disc contains remixes of several songs found on the first disc as well as 2 unreleased tracks. The opener, "Dangerous Overture," does not give much of a "remix" feel to the album, while the second track, the Justin Warfield mix of "Confide In Me" shows a more urban side of Kylie, much in the way that the Dan's Old School Mix of "Put Yourself In My Place" does. Both amazing tracks. The previously unreleased tracks, "Nothing Can Stop Us" and "Love Is Waiting" are great reasons to grab the bonus cd version of KM '94. However, a few of the remixes aren't as up to par. The 10-minute, Big Brothers Remix of "Confide In Me" is all over the place, and the Alternative Mix of "Falling" is just the same track as found on the first disc, only two minutes longer.
   
   All in all, this album is definitely one of my favorites and I love having it in my collection. I think any other Kylie fans also need this!



3. A long way from the days of PWL and their 'cheesy' pop Kylie we discover through DeConstuction and this album a completely different Kylie.

   After extensive vocal lessons we are treated to the delights of Put Yourself In My Place (acoustic version) which beautifully displays Kylie's great voice. Confide In Me, Dangerous Game and Automatic Love are the stand-out tracks on this wonderful album.

   A must for all Kylie fans - especially remix fans.

1. I don't like CD 1 very much; it's too cybertrancey for my tastes, and the songs are all very similar and unoriginal. Despite the fact that I didn't recognize any of the names of the songs, I'll swear I've heard all of them before.

   CD 2 is much, much better. It's mostly trancey stuff under 130 BPM, though there are a few faster songs. The best tracks are 1, 3, 10, and especially track 8, "Air," by Sinter. The melodies are bittersweet--not quite happy, really, and sad, in a way--and the bass is strong and heavy.

   The bonus CD, for me, was Psygone's "Optimystique." Funny that the other dude who reviewed this box set got a different bonus CD. Anyway, Psygone is good, and so is their album. I would have liked it better if I didn't already own it.




2. This three CD set is a true bargain at only $13. The first CD is great, but many of the songs use the same sounds and beats, and are often difficult to discern from eachother. The second CD is much more diverse, and better, in my opinion. The bonus CD is great. It's Giez' The Ambient Room, which is really nice. It combines mellow ambient tunes with some other faster, more trancy beats. The first two CD's have their shortcomings, but is still worth 5 stars as they are great to listen to.

1. There were many more production toys available in the nineties than there were when King Tubby and Lee Perry were remixing Dub Plates. So it makes sense that the form is thriving. This collection focuses on rave/techno artists, primarily from England, updating the sound of late sixties Jamaican dub with today's technology. The results are great for both the dancefloor and the loungeroom. The grooves completely fill all four discs, totalling to 5 hours of music, making the set a great value. The range of dub styles on this set is extremely narrow, keeping the survey focused, but slightly tedious.
