1. This CD was a big disappointment. I was hoping for the REAL renditions for my child's birthday party, and BOY, while these are the real words, and sung in tune by adults, they are not the songs I remember listening to. (At least they are sung in tune, although there is not a drop of passion in it.)

   Perhaps I can get my money's worth out by hanging it outside to scare the crows away.




2. These songs are definately for younger kids,but not even six year olds,younger. I do like "Achy Breaky Heart"Okay and I like"Hands Up" Alot,but most of it is for young kids. Good-bye.



3. Young kids really do dig this CD, and the bonus is that parents can tolerate it pretty well also, often even singing along. You wouldn't want to hear it every day, but it's a great choice for birthday parties. Though if your kid is old enough to worry about being cool, this probably isn't the CD for you. LOL



4. My kids love it. I only wish the music was by the original artists. ( I know, what do you want for a cheap price and an item targeted for kids...)



5. This is all feel-good music. We have listened to the tape while in the car until it has worn out. Thank you amazon.com. We could not find it anywhere else. Not even the company who made the tape could locate it for us. Now we've ordered the CD, and my husband even asked us to order one for his new car.

5 comments about Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Nirvana.

1. The grungey sound of the Seattle scene sounds perfect for the nursery,doesn't it,with the late Kurt Cobain,clad in flannel, belting out "Come as you are,as you were,covered in bleach"? This latest "Rockabye Baby!" horror attempts to turn grunge into kid-friendly songs with glockenspiel and mellotron. It's true Cobain sang of the umbilical cord and the uterus in "Heart Shaped Box",one of Nirvana's hit albums was "In Utero",and the legendary cover had a swimming naked infant... but that doesn't make Nirvana kid-friendly.
   
   "Rockabye Baby!" turns Nirvana's eerie songs into equally eerie instrumentals. There are versions of "Lithium","Come as you are",and "Heart Shaped Box"... but it's music fit for a carnival in Stephen King's IT. Nirvana is hardly a musical paradise for the little ones.



2. I have to agree with some of the previous reviews - "demented clown music" os an accurate description. It was just creepy and boring.



3. This is just wrong on so many levels. I agree with the previous review. It sounds like demented clown music. What would Kurt say?



4. I have the Rockabye Baby CDs for NIN and Tool, so I thought Nirvana would be just as much fun. However, these songs were scary. I'll be playing this as my Halloween music. Honestly, most of this sounds warped and evil. It's probably because Nirvana did not write very complex arrangements - most were basic and fast, and it sounds like murderous clown music when slowed down and music-boxed.
   I won't be playing this for my little one, but it is very effective mood music if you want to terrify someone.



5. that Nirvana tunes would be soft and soothing as lullabies!! I love this CD and play it often for my daughter, especially during morning naptime. The melodies are perfect to lull her to sleep.

1. I grew up listening to Bullfrogs and Butterflies on record. I had a baby last October and since have carried on the tradition of my family's favorite songs: Bullfrogs and Butterflies, Good Morning, and of course Patience. In fact, Patience is the only thing that can calm my son down from crying. As soon as I start singing it, he stops crying and just stares at my mouth. Eventually, a huge smile displays on his face. At first I thought it was a coincidence, until I tried it again and again. Too funny! I highly recommend these to any parent wanting to open their children's eyes to God!



2. CD 1 - I grew up with these songs (only they were on cassette then) & absolutely loved them. It was played over & over again. Very good, catchy lyrics as well as contemplative songs teaching about God & His character.
   CD 2 - Only heard this when bought this set, but again very good. A nice mixture of catchy & comtemplative songs teaching about God and how great He is.
   Bonus DVD - Again, only seen these when I bought this set. 4 very good, simple character building stories. Very nicely animated & narrated.

3. This was my favorite album as a child in the 70s. It is still a good one, though a little dated (obviously). I was impressed with the quality of the recording and also the songs are very "sing-a-long-able" if that makes sense. Overall, a good one. My child is only six weeks old so I can't say whether he will like it yet!

1. A very great CD for whole family. Both my son and daughter enjoy it very much.



2. I got these for my son, but to be honest I love Spongebob just as much as he does if not more. We listened to the whole cd and it was great hearing all the great songs from alot of the episodes. I love the whole thing, a wonderful collection of listening pleasure!!!!!



3. I bought this album for "Sweet Victory" but it is only HALF the song! Why not put the entire song if you are going to create an album?!! Doesn't make sense to me.



4. I bought a couple of Spongebob albums for Christmas this year. This was the right one. The best day ever sucked, it was random new music that was created to be supplemental to the show, but not directly related to any existing episodes. Had I known this I wouldn't have bought it. My kids still like it, but the Yellow Album is all the great songs that I love FROM THE EPISODES! Nice. All I have to say is the best time to wear a stripped sweater.....is....the best time to listen to this CD, man.



5. I bought this for my two children who are huge fans of the show and they absolutely love it. I even enjoy listening to the cleverly written songs that bring back memorites of my favorite episodes. You really get a lot for your money on this one, there are quite a few songs.

1. My daughter loves to listen to this while she is falling asleep. The tunes are great- and very relaxing.



2. My wife is a huge fan of No Doubt, so when I saw this CD I knew that she would enjoy it as well as my son. I recommend that parents add this CD to their collection of music they play for their baby.



3. Half of the songs on this CD are difficult to recognize as tunes by No Doubt. I don't believe that the music lends itself very well to lullabies. We own two other Rockabye CDs, and they are far better.



4. This is my 3rd Rockabye baby CD and it is my favorite; as well as my childs!! If you love no doubt, buy this CD!!!!!!!!

1. Disneymania 2 is not just for kids--it's for the child inside of me, too! This album is chock full of peppy tunes that make me smile. The quality of the sound is excellent and the artwork is very nicely done.
   
   "Welcome" by Jump 5 has kids and "tweens" everywhere enjoying their teen pop sound! The percussion helps to mark the beat and Jump 5 sings this upbeat, catchy melody with all their might; and this helps to make "Welcome" a solid introductory number for this album. Great! "True To Your Heart" gets the royal treatment from Raven; Raven sings and plays this to perfection--and wow, what a number! This is yet another upbeat number from the folks at Disney and it really has a great pop beat. "True To Your Heart" is clearly a major highlight on this album. In addition, "It's a Small World" by Baha Men at first sounds quite different from the music you hear on the ride at Disneyworld and Disneyland; but the chorus is very much the same and the reggae treatment is really very well done. "It's a Small World" brings back so many fond memories for me of taking this ride with my mother when we were at Disneyland back in '72. I loved the ride then; and this music reminds me of how much I still love this charming ride even today.
   
   "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah" gets the royal treatment from Stevie Brock; Stevie sings this with passion and the pop flavor of this rendition makes it very strong and yet true to the original arrangement all at once. "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah" is one of my very favorite Disney tunes; and if you're lucky enough to catch the 3 o'clock afternoon parade down Disney's Magic Kingdom Main Street USA you just may hear this tune as the parade passes in front of you! "Circle of Life" is a very beautiful melody with great lyrics performed here by The Disney Channel Circle of Stars. "Circle Of Life" always moves me with its beauty and its message and that's grand.
   
   "Anytime You Need A Friend" by The Beu Sisters has a great pop beat to it that has just a hint of hip hop and this all works very well. The chorus is excellent and The Beu Sisters really make this their own as they sing this one out right! "When You Wish Upon a Star" is another stunning Disney classic tune; Ashley Gearing sings this with lots of feeling and I'm very impressed with this young lady's voice. I hope to hear more from Ashley Gearing very soon!
   
   "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" gets a very sensitive arrangement from Daniel Bedingfield. Daniel's incredible sense of timing and his excellent diction bolster his performance; and the CD also ends very nicely with They Might Be Giants performing the "Baroque Hoedown" that you may recognize from Disney's nighttime Main Street electrical parade.
   
   Overall, Disney fans will love this one--and people who like teen pop and today's pop in general will really enjoy this album. Thank you, everyone!

3. Perfect gift for a tiny-bopper. I normally dread the idea of finding room for all the gifts after the holidays but the gift of music was the way to go this year. My little girl is almost 8 and Disney is not risky with its music.



4. I purchased this to keep my kids occupied on vacation, and it performed beautifully! I can recommend it fully.



5. This CD must be great, my grandson lost his first one and has to have another. Very charming Disney fare for the young at heart.

1. THe arrangements are very original which is great as background music but makes them hard to sing along with, unless you do it every day.



2. We bought this cd for our daughter who has Down Syndrome. She is 6 years old but still has difficulty articulating words together in a sentence and will often skip over words in songs because she cannot sing them as fast. This cd allows kids like my daughter to really hear the words clearly. Although it is slower than the songs would normally be, it is great for kids who have a delay because they have the time to process what they just heard and repeat it back more accurately. Then, when they try to sing the songs at the regular speed, they can do so with more accuracy and comprehension. Our daughter still loves her other cd's, but this just gives her one more way to help her with her speech skills. We plan to get the Christmas cd as she listens to Christmas music all year long!!! :



3. I think that for special needs kids, children who are a little slower to talk, or kids just having problems with anunciation or expression, this CD presents an incredible opportunity in being able to share traditional, fun, upbeat and lively children's music with your kids. The notion of slowing down the words, if not the music, is fantastic as it gives kids a better grounding in what is being said, proper anunciation, etc.
   
   The only knock I have against the CD is that the voices are quite operatic. I think this is an interesting choice as the delivery is certainly emotive and forceful, but I think it would have worked with the intent a little better if the singers weren't so operatic and instead sung in a clear, even, and less ornate fashion.
   
   Overall, a fatnastic idea; but one that slightly works against its purpose.



4. The front of the CD says "Helps Build Language Skills" and part of the description on the back says "...the words are sung at a slower tempo so that any child can sing along - even a child just learning to speak". The CD doesn't fail to offer what it clearly states if you read it!
   
   My children appreciated the different ways these songs were sung; for instance "If You're Happy and You Know It" had an African rhythm to it.
   
   The words were spoken very clearly and I was able to sign along without having to do it so rapidly my toddler couldn't follow.
   
   This CD gets the interest of my 33 month old toddler and he likes to listen to it while his older siblings and I sign along with it. I would say that is money well spent!



5. I was very disappointed with this CD. I teach preschool and thought that this would be an upbeat, lively CD; instead I found it very slow and drug out. My kids are big fans of Dr. Jean, her CD's are fun and quick. This CD was not at all what I thought it would be, it was WAY too slow.

1. I am quite surprised that such a wonderful CD got less than perfect reviews. This is the best lullaby music we have ever heard (and we own other lullabies CDs). We got it before our twins we born and we listened to it for the whole first year. It is so soothing, not only does it help our babies to fall asleep but also creates a magical atmosphere in our home and helps us relax. Everyone who came to see our babies commented how beautiful this music is. It plays for an hour which is the usual time for CD. So what that it does not play all 36 tracks in their entirety? Unfortunately, our CD got damaged (one of my sons figured out how to open the CD player), so I have to order another copy of it.



2. Good friends sent us a tape of this CD before our first child was born. The tape is starting to wear out and I was thrilled to be able to find the CD. We have listened to this at bedtime almost every night for over three years. We have another on the way and plan to buy a new CD, one for my sister's new baby, and to use this as a staple "baby-gift." Don't be scared by complaints about misleading numbers of tracks, this compilation is soothing and perfect for nursing or bedtime. Compared to many, many other lullaby CDs we own, this is the only that has stood the test of time for parent and child as it is neither cheesy nor irritating.



3. I bought this for my 1st grand child and played it at his mommy's baby shower. it was really nice and calming but nice for everyone to listen to and not obnoxious tones.



4. I am so glad that I bought this product I don't know what I would do without it. I play this in our daughter's nursery on Repeat while she is sleeping and she absolutely loves the soothing music. We have done the white noise cd's and for some reason it doesn't work. But as soon as she hears the lullabies cd begin then she calms down and it is just great background music for baby to wake-up to. This cd is heaven for me and baby to listen to and is definately soothing when you are rocking baby. Love this cd, I highly recommend product.



5. We bought this CD when I was pregnant with my now 4 year old daughter. She has listened to it every night for 4 years! If we travel and don't bring it with us, she doesn't sleep! Now after 4 years we are going to replace it because it will no longer play continuously on her CD player and we get woken up numerous times a night to turn it back on! If she wakes up and it's not playing she needs us to come in and turn it back on! It's a beautiful CD. My parents even love it! This will be the first time I've ever bought a second copy of the same CD due to overplaying it! Highly recommended!
