1. Our local children's museum is hosting a Magic Schoolbus exhibit just in time for our daughter's birthday. We wanted to play the theme song for background music so we purchased this cd. It's NOT Little Richard singing and not the version our child LOVES. All of the songs are done by the same person. I will give them credit for annunciating and making the lyrics clear unlike the originals but they should make it more clear that that is what it is. Through the laughter, my husband summed it up best, "It's like we're at a class reunion at a Holiday Inn w/ a cover band." Now, none of those things are necessarily bad it's just not what we wanted or expected. Be forwarned!

1. Well, I am not sure what I had expected.
   I LOVE Broadway musicals, a night out in NYC,enjoying the shows and strawberry shortcakes afterwards.
   Perhaps I was looking for a CD that had Broadwaymusic geared towards kids,sang by kids and also the music adjusted to a young listeners ears.
   I didn't get that.
   I basically got a CD that had some songs that most likely you have on your already favorite CD's and you can pretty much copy yourself on a CD for your child.
   Therefore I don't feel that I got what I was looking for.As well as money worth.
   The reason I searched for this CD was that my child of course will not sit through an entire Phantom CD or whatever show, and will tune out after a short while.
   Mind you she is 2.5 going on 3 but you can never start early enough, right?
   But this CD doesn't offer anything different. Same wonderful artist and melodies and songs.. but to my opinion not geared toward little ears. NO matter if 3 or 5 or 7 years of age.
   So it is a nice CD but I bet since you are interest in Broadway you have many CD's at home already and you easily could burn one for yourself with the ones you have. This is no different.
   I still will use it in the car but I had hoped to find kids Broadway for kids and that isn't it.
   It is artists and music and that is beautiful to my ears but defeats the purpose of the purchase, for my young one.

2. This is my 4 year old daughter's favorite CD! Its great to hear her singing songs from musicals instead of simple nursery rhymes. It awakened a sense of interest in viewing musicals both on stage and on video that I think has been very beneficial to her. Not only that, but it is actually an enjoyable CD to listen to for her, her 1 year old brother, her parents and even her grandparents!

1. We have used several songs like "Happy Adoption Day" and "Beautiful Boy" and "All I Really Need" for our adoption videos. I do not like several of the songs on the CD, and neither do my kids, but it is an interesting mix of styles of music and we really just bought it for the "Happy Adoption Day" song anyways.

1. As a native Spanish speaker who speaks mainly English at home, I was thrilled to find this CD (and the other 2 like it). First of all you can't beat the price. Plus, this CD is full of fun, catchy songs that my 5 month old seems to really enjoy. In all honesty I enjoy them as well! I put the CD on for her while she is playing on her play mat, and between her toys and the music she stays entertained for a long time-- enough for me to shower and do some chores. I often sing the songs to her along with the CD and she laughs (but maybe that is my singing). I hope she picks up some of the Spanish too, since I feel I don't really speak the language to her enough.
   
   The fact that most of the songs seem to be sung by kids was off-putting at first, but I got over that pretty quickly.



2. The songs actually have rythym! Most children's music is very bland, but this CD actually makes my 7-month old daughter want to dance.I definitely recommend it!



3. Most of the reviews on this CD have been negative because Non-Spanish speaking parents purchased it. For Spanish speakers however - the CD is FANTASTIC!!! I strongly urge any non-spanish speaking parents to ask a friend or a Spanish Teacher to translate the songs. "Itsy-bitsy spider" is one of the songs on this CD - Wouldn't it be nice to teach your son/daughter that world-known song in spanish?? Also several traditional Latin (or Mexican) songs are on this CD - many that I heard during my childhood. My son LOVES the music and fact of the matter is - spanish or english - at 2 yrs old he can only understand so much language anyway. AT the current price of $3.99 - I'm ordering more copies as gifts for friends & family.



4. This Spanish CD has some of my favorite fun songs from when I was a child visiting my grandmother in Mexico. My five month old son loves to listen to it and it's great for exposing him to a second language.

1. I bought this beautiful CD and book for my daughter as a graduation from sixth grade present this month. All I can say is that "I'm More Than What I Seem" has been on her CD player ever since. She listens to it every night. She told me that the poetry makes her cry because it expresses exactly how she feels. This is a wonderful way to tell your daughter you love her.



2. This is wonderful for Mothers who are going through a "difficult" stage with their teenage daughters. It's wonderful in a comforting way for both Mother and Daughter. The women who read for the disc are well known personalities and I am impressed that they felt this was a worthy project--which it is! The prayers are beautifuly written in an intelligent way.

1. I like to put on upbeat music when I have to iron or clean house - I reserve Fats Domino for when I have to paste wax the floor - the task becomes fun when I'm listening to Mr. Domino - but for everday "dusting a bit and making an occasional cheese dip" this CD is great fun. I think children would really love it, too.



2. I bought the first Playground cd and loved it so much, I'm glad they finally made a second. Not only did my children enjoy it, but I found myself buying albums form the various artists represented.
   
   It is a great cd to play in the car while driving your kids around from place to place. They will not only benefit from hearing music but learn a little bit about different cultures through the different languages sung and rhythms produced.
   
   I would recommend buying this and the first cd.



3. i'm 15 years old and i lovvvveee this cd. we used it in dance class one day (jazz class) and my teacher got everyone hooked. its so fun to dance to even if u are older than a preschooler!

5. I received this as a gift recently. I have never heard of any of the artists on it, but I will tell you it is excellent. The tone of the songs has that "get your blood pumpin'" feeling. All of the songs seem very original to me. They are very heavy on the percussion (some primative) instruments.

   1. It would be an excellent CD to showcase different cultures in a music class setting, with a discussion.
   2. It would be an excellent CD to listen to, while children use instruments- say for circletime.
   3. A creative movement class for children
   4. It is also very good for listening to at home with your child.

   Listen to each song, then find where it came from on a globe with your children. Some of the songs are in English, but it doesn't really matter what they are saying because each song sounds great. Music brings the world closer together, and this CD really proves that.
