5 comments about Disney's Music From The Park.
- I bought this CD because I'm a big POINTER SISTERS fan and wanted their one song on here to complete my collection. I enjoy their song, and I view this CD as basically one for die hard fans to complete their discographies of the recording artists who are on this CD. Fans of OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN, LINDA RONSTADT, BARENAKED LADIES, POINTER SISTERS, PATTI AUSTIN , and the rest will probably just want their one song each just for their collection. I'm not a big fan of Disney songs. This CD is okay, not great. Probably the biggest goof is TIM CURRY doing THE BALLAD OF DAVY CROCKETT. He intentionally mocks the song with ad-libs & lines not in the original version. Surprising how they actually put it on this CD. I guess Disney purists will not like the new arrangements of most of these songs. Just for die-hards & completists, in my opinion.
- I truly enjoyed this CD. Great new arrangements of some of the best Parks music ever! To me Barenaked Ladies and Tim Curry are stand outs. I could have done without The Pointer Sisters doing "Yo Ho" but over all it's still a great listen!!!
- This album wasn't in my frequent rotation for a long time. In fact, I only recently broke this out after I planned my daughter's first trip to Disney World. Though I question some of the interpretations on here, especially the Pointer Sisters' version of "Yo Ho," I must admit that this album has really captured my ear. Take 6, Barenaked Ladies and Patti Austin give wonderful performances of their respective songs. They are the highlights of a mostly good album. One song stands apart from the rest. Brian McKnight's stirring rendition of "Remember the Magic" is a moving experience. It alone makes this album worthy of purchase.
Overall, this album really is a good purchase. It's perfect for packing your bags for Disney World or just a quiet evening at home. All of these songs are fun, uplifting numbers that will quickly brighten the spark of childhood that all adults have somewhere deep inside of them.
- If you want the actual music used in the rides and attractions, buy one of the official WDW albums. These are Disney song covers by a variety of artists. Etta James makes "It's a Small World" meaningful and beautiful, Tim Curry has his tongue planted firmly in cheek in "The Ballad of Davy Crockett," and Take 6's lush accapella harmonies are outstanding on "When You Wish Upon a Star." As another reviewer said, David Benoit's "Spectromagic Medley" shimmers like the parade itself. Linda Rondstadt and Olivia Newton-John sing pretty straight-forward versions of familiar tunes, and Brian McKnight's sentimental "Remember the Magic," used in Disney World advertising, might bring a tear to your eye.
- I bought this C.D because I wanted "Music from the Park" not remakes of the true music that is in Walt Disney World. I was very disapointed when I started listening to the songs. A couple of years later I found the true music from the park called "Where magic lives, The official album from Walt Disney World". I bought it at Downtown Disney in Orlando but I'm not sure if it's available other places outside the park. The closest album available for sale here on amazon.com is "Walt Disney World Resort in Florida". It has almost all of the songs my CD has plus a few more. If you love the true music from the park I'd recommend one of these other CD's.

- We love this tape and the songs stay with you! Our son played it so much, he wore it out... now we have to buy a new one for our baby daughter. Buy this one - you won't regret it. Remember: "Life without Jesus is like a donut, 'cause there's a hole in the middle of your heart!"
- This cassette is absolutely wonderful! My 2 year old daughter would like to listen to this all day, and my 5 yr old son likes it a lot too. On top of that, I love it. The songs on here all seem so anointed, in spite of it being geared towards children, and even I could listen to these songs all the time. This cassette contains wonderful worship songs, that totally fill the room with the presence of the Lord. What an incredibly awesome tool to bring children to know God! Thanks, "Donut Man", I'm looking forward to more stuff from you!

3 comments about Zip-a-dee Doo-dah.
- I love Disney tunes and as a former band nerd, I love big band sound so this CD is the perfect mix. The collection of songs are "classic" Disney but they are all favorites. This is a calming, soothing CD and worth every penny.
- For anyone who enjoys big bands and mellow vocalists, or the pure and simple joy of a Disney tune, Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah is guaranteed to lift your spirits. This album enjoys an all-star line up including Rosemary Clooney, Doris Day and Benny Goodman, performing stellar hits like "When You Wish Upon A Star" and "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah", while sneaking in fantastic songs from the movies you can't find anywhere else like "Sooner or Later" and the sentimental lullaby "Baby Mine". There are also a few songs that are just pure fun like "Never Smile at a Crocodile" and "The Un-Birthday Song". And the arrangements of the songs are fresh and fun, without losing the charm of the tunes as heard in the movies. One of the greatest aspects of this album is that it appeals to (and is appropriate for) young and old alike. It's a great way to introduce your kids (who already know many of the songs) to the artists of a by-gone era. A great album for the road!! Wonderful Feeling... Wonderful Day!!

- All I can say is that I loved this (on tape!) as a kid myself. I'm buying it for a friend who has little ones.
- After a trip to the Disneyworld Wilderness Lodge, I ordered this for my 4 year old. He loved the music played in the restaurant at the lodge, but no one knew what it was. This comes close. Mickey, Goofy, and Donald sing western songs. Your little ones will love to sing along, and it won't drive you too crazy.

5 comments about The Music of Disney: A Legacy in Song.
- I have this collection on cassette and I plan to buy the CD's. I love this set because it spans the history of Disney's wonderful songbook of music. Where else can you hear the Swamp Fox theme or Sean Connery singing Pretty Irish Girl? I am a total Disney fan and I would recommend this set to anyone who loves Disney or wants to show their kids Disney's amazing history in song. The one drawback is that it does not include the music from the last decade or so...but, that's okay because there are several good Disney CD's out there that do. Ultimate Disney volumes 1-3 actually. I think that is what it is called...Anyway, such a great variety of music here.
- Not exactly what I expected. Nice for adult rememberance, it is the sound track for most of Disney movies. But, not really to entertain children.
- This expansive and detailed collection of Disney music is the best out there. I've had mine since it came out in 1991, and I can't tell you how many times I've played each of it's three CD's!
CD 1 starts off with the first Disney song in a cartoon, 'Turkey in the Straw' from Steamboat Willie and travels through the years (and 27 tracks) to The Sword and the Stone with 'Higitus Figitus'. Along the way films such as Pinocchio, Fantasia, Melody Time, Song of the South, Treasure Island and Sleeping Beauty are covered. CD 2 picks things up in 1962 with 'Supercalifraglisticexpialidocious', and runs through 20 tracks to 1991's 'Beauty and the Beast'. No rare songs are included on this disc, but a song or two from each animated film made in this time period is nothing to balk at. CD 3 heads in a new direction (that of live action, cartoon series and the Theme Parks) and serves up many gems and rarely heard recordings. Some of the 31 tracks included are; 'Enjoy It', 'The Ballad of Davy Crockett', 'Mister Piano Man' sung by Annette Funicello, the 'DuckTales Theme', 'Meet Me Down on Main Street', and the entire score for the 'Main Street Electrical Light Parade'! This set goes one step further by including a 60-page book that illustrates with words, and many full color pictures, Disney's musical legacy and packs it in a record sized keep-sake box. Much of the information in the book is enlightening and it does a superb job of giving backstory to the creation of the songs included. I've refrenced it many times and have always found it helpful. Yes, this set doesn't include songs from Toy Story, Tarzan or any of the more recent Disney offerings, but remember it was made in 1991. No matter though, over 10 years later, it's still the best and most comprehensive collection to date and believe me, I have enough Disney recordings to know! It's IMPOSSIBLE to be disappointed by this collection!
- I take a trip to DIsney World Florida every year and before this latest trip I got this CD set. It is great!! I LOVE IT!!
Jess
- This is by far my favorite of Disney Albums. If I could have designed it I would have made the first disc 100% animation, the second for live action and TV, and the third music from the parks.
The only reason that the score isn't higher is because I would have liked to have more music from the parks. That aside, this is a great addition to the CD collection.
