1. This CD really works! My seven year old precocious daughter fell right to sleep, while my husband and I relaxed to the beautiful music. It's a great CD to introduce children to a beautiful classical voice, yet in a very easy listening format. Karen and Bill offer unique renditions of lovely timeless pieces.



2. I enjoy listening to music when I'm falling asleep, so this cd gets played often. Karen has a very elegant and masterful soprano, but the real treat on this collection of songs is her ability to mix intimacy and serenity without letting her sound compromise the poetry of the song lyrics. And just like the cover art might suggest, this record has a noticeably slow energy that is gentle, calming, quiet, and filled with love---as if Karen were holding a newborn baby in her arms while singing every track.
   
   I really enjoy Wiegenlied, A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes, and Till the Sandman Comes, and strongly suggest parents add this to their collection to facilitate relaxation, sound sleep, and an early bedtime (for the kids, or themselves.)

1. I having hard time trying to listen to some of the stories. And there no "break" in between each story, like a music or anything to indicate next story. I won't recommend this.



2. I bought this to play for my younger children (age2) because the title says "babies" but some of the stories are definitely not for younger children. These are the original stories with no editing. (ie.. in little red riding hood the hunter takes a gun shoots the wolf and then takes a knife and cuts his stomach open to let grandma out). The story telling is very graphic. Some of the stories are fine though and we put those on a tape for them to listen to.



3. I constantly read to my 4 an 1 1/2 year old daughters, but sometimes Mommy is a little tired from being Mommy all day. These stories are enjoyable, well told and familiar. My kids love it when I put them on during nap time or bedtime, and by the time the CD is finished, they are usually both snoozing. Most of the time I will lie there and listen, too. A couple of times my husband has had to shake me awake long after the stories have ended, so they work for tired mommies, too! I've sent this CD to many of my friends. It makes a great birthday gift or a gift for an older sibling when a baby is born (I send Baby's First Guitar or Baby's First Sleepytime for the baby). This whole series is affordable and well done! I can't believe the price for the high quality of the product!

1. This cd has helped my ADD daughter to concentrate fully on her studies, we are home schoolers



2. I was not disappointed when I played this CD for the first time. The music is really compatible with relaxing, daydreaming and drawing. My kids enjoy listening to it and I do to.



3. I used this CD while elementary students were taking a test. They loved it and so did I. The selections were chosen carefully to be soothing and uplifting. This CD is an excellent way to introduce anyone of any age to Mozart. It can be played in the background while you are working. I listen to it in my counseling office.



4. My seven year old is quickly progressing at piano and is playing simple pieces of Bach. She had previously only appreciated Bach (with a Bach children's tape) but now is true to Mozart. Plays every morning on our way to school--what a way to start the day!



5. I play this music for my art classes. I teach Kindergarten through 6th grade art at an elementary school in Connecticut. All classes respond to this music. It seems to be calming and helps them to focus on their art work. I explain that the music will make them more creative. One third grade boy said "This really works."

1. I used this cd as a naptime cd for my preschool classroom; they all loved it! So when I was pregnant I played it for the baby and he is now 5 1/2 and STILL listening to it every night! I did the same for my almost 4yo as well. This helped calm both boys (and stressed mommy!) when they were colic and were struggling with reflux.
   It is really one of the only lullaby cds I have found that I don't mind listening to for hours on end as well which I sure have!!
   I would definately reccomend this cd to an expecting mother for a shower gift or even for you and your own child; it sure has been a lifesaver for me and my family all these years!



2. I came across this album when I did a random search for baby lullabies. I listened to some of the sample songs and liked the songs enough to purchase it. This album was a life-saver. My baby and I listened to it every night while I was breastfeeding when he was a newborn. I think it probably soothed me more than him but it had a calming effect on him too (more so than the whitenoise CD I also bought). This is a must have along with the book "Happiest Baby on the Block." These baby items really lived up to their name unlike some products I purchased.



3. I received this CD in 98, after my daughter's birth. I fell in love w/ it immediately! It helped me to relax (which made nursing easier) and calmed down my daughter too. I lent the CD to a friend who won't give it back. I am buying another one for myself (& now that I know Amazon has it - will buy one for each new mommy I know).

5 comments about Disney Karaoke, Vol. 2.

1. This CD is NOT coded with CD+G lyrics for Karaoke machines. You can play the CD and sing along with a microphone, but the lyrics will not show on your TV screen. As far as I am concerned, you could do this with any CD, and Disney has CDs with the original artists singing the songs. I was disappointed.



2. My neice love's disney. I thought this would be the perfect gift. How much better can you do than Disney+Karaoke. Well, come to find out she wanted a Ukelele. This is not a Ukelele. Email me if you know of any Disney Ukeleles.



3. I personally think that this CD is overall very good. It has a good variety of fun songs from lots of Disney's best movies. The few things that I didn't enjoy quite as much were the fact that some of the songs were in ranges that didn't fit many singing types, and seemed only based to fit the singer's voice on the example tracks. Some of the songs were also shortened a bit. But my opinion is that it's a great opportunity to listen to the strengths of your voice and start to record yourself, or just have fun. And if you don't like it, just send it back. Hope this helped!



4. These may not be the originals, but the music is wonderful and Disney did choose amazing vocalists for the reference songs. They are not any less artistic or musical than the originals, but simply a different version. I have both volumes, I and II, and I personally think that volume II contains a more interesting collection of songs.



5. I don't care if these are not the original recordings.... they sound GREAT! Personally, I think they sound BETTER than the originals, but who cares?

   The CD sounds great and I Love it....
