1. If you are a fan of shai hulud, you must get this, if not, get it anyway and you will be a fan. However, indecision just does nothing for me. The later stuff like, "Release the Cure" is awesome, but these songs are weak. But the shai hulud songs are as good as ever, they don't and can't make a bad song.



2. When it comes to metal infused hardcore, no one does it better then the masters known as Shai Hulud. They're style is one of totallity, it brings together the most classical elements of the best hardcore bands and the best metal bands. If your looking for metal-core with heart, soul, and true emotion then go no further.

1. In response to the earlier review I must state the same reason for buying this CD, the west coast punk scene seems to be rather stagnant with everybody lying in either the Blink 182 or NOFX camp. Its nice to hear a change from that, especially with a good dosing of obscure or semi-obscure bands. The Lunachicks and I'd heard great things about the Meatmen so I decided to pick this up.

   Now this CD is almost permanently in my CD player. There's so many different styles of punk rock on this that it puts most of the other compilations I own to shame. Even though a lot of it is hardcore, there's still enough of variation in it for the style not to get overly annoying. There's the consciously-volatile tracks by Buttsteak (gotta love the name) and the hilarious cover songs by both Black Velvet Flag and Canned Travolta...I just wish I could find some of these band's albums. There's not one disappointing track on this album, it all just seems to flow together. Go-Kart records is my new favorite label.




2. This album took me by surprise...after getting bored with all the west-coast punkrock I needed a change...This was it, this album is so good because of the diversity in it...so many different sounds, lyrics and music...NY has won a place in my punkrock cd rack

1. I loved this cd when it first came out years ago and I love it now that I just bought a new copy. There are loads of good bands on here, the bodies, the truents, etc.
   
   For the price, it's very worth it as you may find a bunch of new punk bands



2. this cd isn't so bad for the price, but i personally only liked a few of the songs. if anything, it helped the bodies get a new fan. track 3, the bodies 'pack your bags' is an awesome song. the bodies, oi oi oi.

1. Excellent compilation album from the defunct Riot City Records, who gave so many young punk bands a chance to leave the garage and hit the studios in the early 80's.

   Some excellent stuff on here, my personal favourite being East Of Dachau, a Strummer-esque attack on the dodgy politics of Eastern Europe, by a great and vastly under-rated band from Leeds called The Underdogs.

   Check out the vocals on Dachau - by U.G. (Andrew Green) - he could be Jake Burns brother!

   Of course, there's also the Bristol babe Beki Bondage (Vice Squad), and a couple of other Leeds bands The Expelled led by the lovely Jo, and the more well-known Abrasive Wheels here as well, along with many other respectable bands. This is Garageland at it's best.

   All-in-all, get it before it's gone forever.

   You won't regeret it! Trust me!

1. While not as sucky as the first one, it's still full of songs that shouldn't be covered by these bands, or even covered at all. None of these songs stand up to the originals, and a lot of the bands have a "generic" sound. (...)



2. This is one of the best c.d.s I've ever heard! I always loved Anti-Flag. That band is what got me into the whole pittsburgh punk scene. They have the best music. Fast paced and excellent guitarwork. I bought all of Anti-Flags C.D.s and there best one is Die For The Government. If you liked this C.D. I would recomend bands like Virus*Nine, Thought Riot and any of those kinds of bands



3. After seeing Antiflag at warped tour in cleveland, I had to listen to more. This CD had a great combination of groups such as the Dropkick Murphys, Purpose, Antiflag, and a bunch more. It's the typical fast moving punk, nothing slow in this album. More expensive than most people want to pay for a CD nowadays, but it's worth it. You will not be disappointed.

1. i have to say this is the most listend to cd since i bought it..its simply amazing......the first band is a awsome band with a obsesion with the movie "weird sience" they open 3 tracks with clips from the movie and there record cover is from the movie....the next band is isocracy....not much to say about them...there a prty good band...fast and thats how i like it.....but i have to say that by far plaid retina is the best band on here...they deliver 12 songs in 10 minuts...and its non stop speed....not to mention there form my home town!!!and i had never herd of them till now!!!!i love it.....and you can do your self by skiping EVERY song by the yeste girls....the blow...and posibly listen to the next band...but i would just re start the cd when it goes onto the yeste girls.....buy this cd....and tell your frends..they will want it

   touch and feel. The best songs here are: All of them. Listen for
   yourself and witness the gems of years past. "5"stars definite.
