5 comments about Elton John - Greatest Hits 1970-2002.
- Great songs just as I expected. EJ is always and without hesitation a great performer. The very reason that he will always be able to demand the best price, the best stage or whatever else he wants. Never fails to deliver.
- Bought as a gift but ended up ordering another one for myself. Every song brings back great memories!
- Elton John,...is terrible on this disc. The songs, "Melou, Melou", "Bride with Red", "Threaten Love Bast" and etc, are just too tedious to non Elton Fans. A complete waste of time if you don't read his books first.
- The song "Daniel" is an inexplicably messed up master that fades out just seconds before the actual ending. Never heard that before... Another reviewer also mentioned that Honky Cat and Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting were edited (early fades). Other reviewers complain about the flat or EQ'd mastering problems. The credits say "various songs" remastered by Gus Dudgeon - this would explain the uneven quality (unacceptable from a major label like Universal/UTV).
As many have pointed out, this set is missing the #1 hit "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" (unforgivable) as well as the top 10 hits "Mama Can't Buy You Love" and "Empty Garden". There's several lame 90's tunes on disc two to make it even worse.
Universal's Gold series has done many new collections that had EVERY hit by major artists - so it can be done.
- Every great Elton John song from the 'glory years' is right here in this CD. A while back it occured to me that pop music had undergone a subtle yet very real change, and to me it wasn't for the better. In fact, today, you will find bands re-recording these classics with their own type of imprint and if you are like me, you cringe. Seems they are running out of talent.
Almost every Elton John song is a classic. From the better known "Daniel" or "Rocket Man" to the lesser known but still great "Sad Songs", they are all filled with depth and style. Elton John's music is signature-by that I mean you know immediately when you hear even the instrumental parts before he actually sings, that this is one of his songs.
I came of age listening to these classics. It was great to find them all in one CD and to sit back and reminisce about the time that AM was real and music was truly music. This is a collection you will enjoy for years to come.

- Box of Fire
It's Incredible, It's amazing ... It is certainly the best time of the band. A box unparalleled, 100% Rock & Roll, 100% Attitude, 100% of good music, a very good opportunity for people who know the band recently.
This has got to be one of the best sets ever, it has pretty much all the hits, and some bonus songs too. It is excellent, and so is Aerosmith. Aerosmith Rocks!!!!!!!!!!
- I see a lot of reviews that seem clueless as to why this box set was released the way it was. Some history might clear this up.
Aerosmith started off on the Columbia label, under which they released 12 official albums. This box set includes those 12 specific albums in their entirety, along with a bonus EP of rarities. After cleaning up their drug problems in the mid-1980s, they switched to Geffen in 1985 and stayed with them through 1994. November 1994 saw the release of both "Big Ones" (a compilation of hits from the Geffen years) and "Box of Fire".
This was no coincidence, because the band was ending their contract with Geffen and returning to Columbia (on which they released everything from 1997's "Nine Lives" onwards). You have to realize that in the music world, a band's label largely determines how the release of compilations and box sets are made. When a band with a huge back catalog signs to a new label, it's not unusual to see the new label re-release the old catalog themselves, because a new label is not interested in promoting a band that has classic albums that still sell on a different label! In this case, Aerosmith returned to Columbia, who in turn remastered and rereleased the Columbia catalog here in "Box of Fire".
Some people are complaining about the redundant tracks, or the fact that you could use less discs to fit the same music. Again, this is a re-release of the first 12 Aerosmith albums, as a collector's set. They're going for completeness. They were however released for individual sale too, so boxing 12 of what they were selling separate seemed simple enough I'm sure. Unfortunately, the band is notorious for having way more than their share of live albums and official studio compilations. In the case of their first dozen albums, 3 were live, and 2 were compilations!
So who would want to buy the first 12 at once? Especially with "Greatest Hits" included? (The other compilation, "Gems", is at least unique in that it has the rare single "Chip Away at the Stone"). Granted the box is beautifully put together, the music is classic, and buying this is cheaper than buying the discs individually. But die-hard fans would no doubt already own the CDs, and casual fans of old Aerosmith would be happy with the 1991 "Pandora's Box" box set.
One last thing to keep in mind is that in 1994, many were finally replacing their cassettes and vinyl with CD. So for fans who didn't make the switch yet, this was a good all-in-one buy! It worked for The Police box set and "complete studio" Led Zeppelin too (then again these had no redundant tracks to deal with). "Box of Fire" is still good for the price, but these days I'd say it's overkill for all but the die-hard fan.
- thats really dumb i wish i knew whos bright idea it was to but aerosmiths greatest it cd wen al the songs on it are in te first 5 albums before it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! plus i think tey could have puttin other albums instead of live stuff on some cds but overall great collection!
- A superb 13 - CD box set and all,but WHO has time to listen to this? You obviously need to check out,say several discs at a time to make it fun. 'Box Of Fire' includes all twelve of their albums from '73's self-titled Aerosmith to '87's 'Permanent Vacation' plus one five-track EP that has some real tough-to-find songs of theirs including the instrumental "Subway" and "Circle Jerk". A great find, but 'Box Of Fire' is obviously aimed toward the HUGE Aerosmith fan, with a hunk of disposable income. A must-have, but PRICEY.
- It seems kinda weird that they put the same tracks on different disc's.
All cds in this set are good. Aerosmith, Get Your Wings, Toys in The Attic, Rocks, Draw The Line, (A) Night in The Ruts, Rock in A Hard Place, etc. all good. Well stated. Sort of.

5 comments about "Queen - The Platinum Collection: Greatest Hits I, II & III".
- Let me start by saying, I am a Queen fan(atic). Have been since I was 9 years old. I can pretty be counted on to A) buy any Queen merchandise and/or products, or B) or least give said merchandise and/or products a fair look before I pass by. That having been said, I don't think this greatest hits set is really the best representation of the most versatile band ever. That's right, Beatles, I said "ever".
The problem with sets like these is that the average listener will buy it and think, "Well, that's Queen taken of, then", stick it on their shelf and forget about it. But then they'll miss out on great stuff like "Tie Your Mother Down", "Stone Cold Crazy", "In The Lap Of The Gods", "Mustapha", "It's Late", "Flick Of The Wrist"...the list literally goes on and on. Also, this just may be my inner anal-retentive fanboy speaking here, but some of the songs on this set are rather annoyingly edited, at least to my ears. For example, on this set's version of "Under Pressure", Queen's seminal 1981 New Wave collaboration with David Bowie, the second refrain of "This is our last chance" is--POOF!--completely gone. It's very unnerving, and takes someone who's heard the song that way their entire lives completely out of the moment. Further examples include the truncated version of "Fat Bottomed Girls" on Disc One, which on this version fades out, rather than coming to its usual strong finish in the unedited version, which can be found on the original album "Jazz" or the 1992 U.S. maroon-colored release, "Queen's Greatest Hits".
As for the much-maligned "Greatest Hits III" (Disc Three), it's not quite as bad as all that. "Princes Of The Universe" was erroneously left off of most of the previous hits collections; long overdue to be included, as it's one of the best known Queen songs, thanks to the "Highlander" films and TV series. Also, it was good to have some cuts from Freddie Mercury's side projects, most notably "Barcelona" with Monserrat Caballe and "Living On My Own" from the "Mr. Bad Guy" album, which can prove difficult to find. Elton John's passionate rendition of "The Show Must Go On" is very moving in the context of things, and even George Michael acquits himself admirably with a joyous take on "Somebody To Love". Both performances serve as fitting tributes to Freddie Mercury's spirit. As for the remix of "Another One Bites The Dust" by Wyclef Jean? Well, to my surprise, I really didn't think it was as bad as some have made it out to be, especially when compared to some of the Rick Rubin remixes from the 1991 album re-releases (Anybody else remember that remix of "Bicycle Race"? Ick.)
Anyways, to sum up, I personally think it would be better for the beginning Queen listener to at least delve into some of Queen's studio albums first, but being that we live in a world where everybody's in a mad hurry, it's quite understandable that people would pick up the most concise collection of material. Just don't make the mistake of ending your search here.
- Absolutely OUTSTANDING. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys the musical genius of Freddie, Brian and the band.
- I have just recenty rediscovered Queen with the Wembly concert. So it was an absloute treat to recieve this collection to add to my ever growing Queen collection. I was absolutely blown away with the songs "I want it all", "The show must go on" and "Hammer to fall" I was also amazed at the version of "Somebody to love" that George Michaels did with Queen. ALMOST as good as Freddie. There is a few songs that were not so good on the last disk but most is an absolute treat to the ears. Not to mention the soul. Also, going through the little booklet was great too since it had a little background knowledge on each of the songs not to mention the great pictures.
If you are a Queen fan this is a must to own and cherish!!! The only BAD thing about this whole set is after you've played them all it leaves you wanting more. Freddie was a great entertainer and showman and died way too soon but at least we have collections like these to remember just how great the band was and how talented they all were.
- this collection is perfect if you love queen. you won't be skipping tracks to get to your favorites - they are all good!
- Looking back at the 1970s, sometimes many forget how big the band Queen was. Even as Queen moved into the 1980s, while their popularity did slightly decline in the United States, it continued to be very high in Europe. Their performance at Live Aid is widely considered one of the greatest of all-time and their subsequent "Magic" tour is considered one of the all-time greatest concert tours. If it weren't for Freddie Mercury's death in 1991, we might still be talking about Queen being as big a band as the Beatles. Numerous compilation albums are available containing much of Queen's music. The period from 1974-1980 is considered the period where Queen achieved its most popularity - especially in the United States. Following 1980, Queen's popularity continued, but this was mostly in Europe. However, there was a lot of good music still done by Queen, thus continuing their legacy. In 1981, Queen released an album "Greatest Hits" covering that 1974-1980 period. Ten years later, Queen would release a second greatest hits collection - "Greatest Hits Volume II", that would cover the post 1980 period until Mercury's death in 1991. After Mercury's death, Queen would not officially disband. However the majority of the work in the 1990s would consist of "projects" or live performances. In 1999, a compilation of this project work, live performances, and solo work would be released under the title of "Greatest Hits III". In 2000, These three collections would be packaged into a single boxed set entitled "Queen - The Platinum Collection: Greatest Hits I II & III".
Queen is an example of the sum of the parts actually being greater than the whole. However, if you take each of the four members of Queen, they easily stand on their own as a top musician in their profession. Freddie Mercury is easily known to be the emotional and flamboyant lead vocalist of Queen who indeed has a legendary voice. Brian May is the legendary lead guitarist and probably the second most popular member of the band. Roger Taylor and John Deacon go extremely underrated. Listen to Taylor's thundering drumming in the studio or live and one can easily understand why he was asked to participate in an All Star Drum Jam (The S.O.S. All-Stars) at the Live Earth concert. As for John Deacon, he might be one of music's all-time underrated bass players. Many of his bass lines have proven to be the foundation for Queen's musical sound. In addition to being top musicians, all four members play integral roles in the songwriting.
The first CD represents "Greatest Hits I" and covers eight of the nine albums from 1973 through 1980. The albums represented on the 1981 UK Version are "Queen II" ("Seven Seas of Rhye"); "Sheer Heart Attack" ("Killer Queen", "Now I'm Here"); "A Night at the Opera" ("Bohemian Rhapsody", "You're My Best Friend"); "A Day at the Races" ("Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy", "Somebody to Love"); "News of the World" ("We Will Rock You", "We are the Champions"); "Jazz" ("Fat Bottomed Girls", "Bicycle Race", "Don't Stop Me Now"); "The Game" ("Another One Bites the Dust", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", "Save Me", "Play the Game"); "Flash Gordon" ("Flash"). The only album not represented is "Queen", however it is important to know that technically "Seven Seas of Rhye" appeared in an "unfinished" version on the "Queen" album. On "Queen II" the full version of "Seven Seas of Rhye" appears on that collection and that is the version that is included on this version of "Greatest Hits".
The second CD is "Greatest Hits II" and covers the five albums from 1981 to 1991. These albums include: "Hot Space" ("Under Pressure); "The Works" ("Radio Ga Ga", "I Want to Break Free", "It's a Hard Life", "Hammer to Fall"); "A Kind of Magic" ("A Kind of Magic", "Who Wants to Live Forever", "Friends Will be Friends", "One Vision"); "The Miracle" ("I Want it All", "Breakthru", "The Miracle", "The Invisible Man"); "Innuendo" ("Innuendo", "Headlong", "I'm Going Slightly Mad", "The Show Must Go On").
From "Greatest Hits III, there is a nice mix of Queen remixes, solo material from both Freddie Mercury and Brian May, material from "Made in Heaven" (the album released posthumously after Mercury's death), Queen's Christmas song - "Thank God It's Christmas", and two collaborations (also posthumous to Mercury's death) with both Elton John ("The Show Must Go On") and George Michael ("Somebody to Love").
One thing that disappoints me about this collection is that despite the fact the two volumes are divided by time, the songs are not ordered in chronological order on each disco. One reason why I like greatest hits collections to be chronologically ordered is because it often shows how a band has progressed over time. Queen originally started as a good mix of progressive rock and early heavy metal. Queen would eventually move away from their progressive roots and incorporate a variety of other types of musical genres including a more theatrical type of element, a pop element, rockabilly, and even Dance/Disco (as demonstrated on the "Hot Space" album) The shuffling of the order of these sounds really takes away from seeing how Queen evolved their sound.
As mentioned above each of the volumes are available as single volume releases. There also is a compilation that just includes "Greatest Hits I & II". One other boxed set worth mentioning is "The Crown Jewels". This is a boxed set that includes all Queen's first eight albums in their entirety (but doesn't include anything from "Volume II or III").
The liner notes include a nice booklet that has a detailed discography with background on each of the songs packaged in this collection. With the exception of "Tie Your Mother Down" not being included, Queen does a good job at providing a good snapshot of their musical portfolio. Overall, I'd recommend this greatest hits collection from Queen because it provides the most completeness and most value for your money.

- I came of age while this music was fresh and current. It was all around me: on the radio, at parties, at friends' houses, college dorm, bars, restaurants ... everywhere basically. My affection of their music was rekindled with the publicity surrounding their reunion on 12/10/07 and I downloaded the bootleg online. Shortly after, I purchased MOTHERSHIP but after giving those disks a few spins, I realized there were too many gaps that needed to be filled and this set was the only solution. The only way it could have made this better would be if it were packaged in an LP-sized box so that the album artwork was in its original size rather than thumbnails.
- Finally a set of all the studio recordings! Page did a great job remastering them. Make sure you listen on a decent stereo, not just you iPod!!!
- Now I can toss my collection of cassettes! Sorry to see them go but I'm jammin' in remastered style now.
Must have if you appreciate the immortal sounds of this band.
- Differing musical tastes is often one of those small compromises made in a happy marriage.
While I'm not a meg-fan of Zeppelin, I'm no hater either.
This was a gift for my husband who, after much debate, convinced me of his intense devotion to the band's influence on his musical orientation. He was wide-eyed and VERY happy with this item.
I'd highly recommend it as a gift for any Zeppelin fan in your life.
- I read all the negative comments and agonized over the decision for a long time wondering if I would find the same dissatisfactions. In the end, I bought it and I'm glad I did. I don't find the remix to be guitar-centric as some have said. I don't find the packaging to be a problem. My CDs are a bit hard to get out of the sleeves, but they certainly don't fall out as some have said. Conversely, I agree with all the good things people said so I won't repeat them.
One plus over the original individual CDs is that, in addition to the original albums' play lists (those which were on the original album covers), there is an additional play list for each album that is easy to read and contains authors, play time, date, and location where each song was recorded. Another plus is the booklet that contains the history of the band with many photos.

- From what I've been able to understand,Harrison released this immediately upon his departure from The Beatles. These are the songs he had been sitting on during the denouement of the band, and when the band finally split, out came these songs. This shows that George,in addition to being "the spiritual one" was also a very talented one. THere are a few "B Sides" ("From Behind that Locked Door", "It's Johnny's Birthday") but there are a lot of strong songs here too. Check out "Wah Wah" (my 4 year old son's favorite).
All in all,The Dark Horse did good for his first time out!
- I would have given this 2 1/2 stars if I could. I would like to see a "naked" version like they did with Let It Be. Make this a one CD release with all of Specter's horrible production removed. Harrison can write some great tunes, but he is hit and miss--mostly miss.
- I first bought this while in the U.S. Navy. Now I have it on CD.
- This product came in great time, and was in perfect condition and the music that George has on this two disc set is phenomenal anyone who enjoys a broad horizon of music will love this.
- all things must pass but George harrison is still remembered!
from MY SWEET LORD to WHAT IS LIFE to RUN OF THE MILL
It is said there are 2 main reasons the BEATLES broke up.
1...YOKO
2...Not recording Georges songs
As an X Beatle, he released a large number of the songs he had stockpiled in the first major solo work released after the breakup, All Things Must Pass, the first triple album by a single artist in rock history.
All Things Must Pass as vinyl is four sides of material, followed by an additional two sides of extended rock jams by Harrison and other musician friends.
this work was the achievement of a sole individual. produced by
The album, which topped the charts, included the number-one hit singles "My Sweet Lord" and "Isn't It a Pity" as well as the top-10 single "What Is Life." Harrison was later sued for copyright infringement over "My Sweet Lord," because of its surface similarity to the 1963 Chiffons single "He's So Fine".
Harrison denied deliberately stealing the song, but he lost the resulting court case in 1976. In the ruling, the court accepted the possibility that Harrison had "subconsciously copied" the Chiffons' melody as the basis for his own song. Disputes over damages dragged on into the 1990s, with manager Allen Klein changing sides by buying Bright Tunes, which published "He's So Fine", and continuing the suit after parting with Harrison ! Harrison ultimately wound up as the owner of both songs (Huntley 2004).
"All Things Must Pass " was revived in early 2001, when a remastered version was released. It peaked at #4 on Billboard's Pop Catalog chart, with Harrison taking part in Internet chats to help promote it. It reappeared on that chart following Harrison 's death. Featured on the 30th Anniversary edition were five bonus tracks, including the top-notch outtake "I Live For You" as well as a new, updated version of "My Sweet Lord." ATMP has been certified by the RIAA as having sold six million copies in the U.S. alone. In early 2007, it was determined that "All Things Must Pass" indeed was a #1 album in the United Kingdom when first released in the winter of 1970-71. Because some sales were not properly counted, the album originally peaked at #4 in Britain .

- This album has taken all the best live performances and put them into one album... since they are all live the have woven the tracks from one to the other seamlessly so this album seems like a live concert...
great album.
- The BOSS is the best in the BIZ. I love his music and I finally wore out the cassette copy of this music I recieved from my sister back in the early 90's. I am sure I will listen to this CD for decades to come.
-
I ordered the boxed set of Springsteen Live: 1975-85. I had this set on casette years ago when it came out. I literally wore it out.
This item was delivered to me promptly and I am well on my way to wearing it out....Thank you .....Velma
- The product arrived in good time and was exactly as described. I wouldn't hesitate to buy again from this vendor.
- While I cannot comment on the remastering as I have the original set (a gift from a now lost touch with but still remembered friend), this is the perfect gift for anyone who loves this greatest of live performers at his peak.

5 comments about US Singles Collection Box.
- It's absolutely disgraceful how Capitol treats its Beach Boys fans regarding the release of their stereo mixes. Every few years we have to purchase yet another redundant collection of songs just to get a few new songs in stereo. Last year it was "The Warmth of the Sun" (You're So Good To Me, All Summer Long), in 2001 it was "Hawthorne,CA" (Heroes and Villains, Dance Dance Dance), in 1998 it was "Endless Harmony" (California Girls), in 1996 it was "Pet Sounds", and on and on. This latest collection is the most absurd yet: $132.98 for two new stereo mixes (When I Grow Up To Be A Man and She Knows Me Too Well). At this rate the stereo Good Vibrations will cost $10,000 in 2025!! There's no reason (other than greed) why they couldn't have included "I Get Around" and "Help Me Rhonda" in stereo here as well. Bootlegs of these recordings exist with just one or two overdubs missing. There are many good homemade stereo versions of Good Vibrations out there on the web. PLEASE, Capitol, release these recordings while we are all still alive to buy them!!
- If you're a serious Beach Boys fan, then this Singles box set if for you. I've struggled a long time to assemble my own set of the mono Beach Boys singles and it's not easy. This set makes it all perfect. The original mono mixes for the singles (and one EP) and then bonus tracks of stereo mixes or other rarities. Plus reproductions of all the single picture sleeves. I do wish they had included The Beach Boys first single on the Candix label as a bonus disc. I can't wait for Volume 2 which should include Caroline No as released by Brian Wilson.
Also I can only hope that this set is a template for a possible release of The Beatles' singles on Capital Records.
- ...This is the kind of product that will keep them relevant. They can't go on anymore putting out disposable (c)rap music and expect to compete with the web or direct artist-to-audience business models. Anyway, this marvelous set is a visual, musical, and audio delight. I don't know if the material has been remastered specifically for this set or if is a re-release of the same masterings, but the sound quality is first-rate. Oh, and the music? Yes, of course much of it has been released many times over, as another reviewer noted, BUT HOW MANY BEACH BOYS NEWCOMERS ARE EXPECTED TO BUY THIS SET ANYWAY? THIS IS A NICHE PRODUCT AIMED AT THE MORE-THAN-CASUAL FAN, although (as is true with BB music generally), casual fans will certainly enjoy the music. And there are some nuggets that are (at least for me), new finds. I.E. the live version of "409" on the first disc is not one that I've heard before and crackles with energy (as do many live BB recordings from their first surge of popularity). The tactile and visual qualities of this set are also wonderful -- the colors and varying textures of the box, as well as the reproduction 45 sleeves inside and the hardcover, "sand covered" book convey the optimism and happiness of a better time. Highly recommended.
- Ugh does Capitol really expect me to shuck out this kind of money after endless amounts of reissues? I think the Beach Boys have more best of cds in and out of print. I would rather have seen capitol reissue 10 Years of Harmony. THe only thing this set is good for is having the mini albums sleeves. Other than that save a whole lot of money and buy something else. They could really do some super cool rarities cd with songs Like Karen from the short lived tv show or honda 55 or something to that effect. Ugh I am going to pass. It only got two stars for having the mini 45 sleeves. I am not buying it
- A lot of fun for the serious fan of Brian Wilson and his band. This collection is worth the price to hear "She Knows Me Too Well" in stereo. Nicely packaged. If you do not have California Girls and Please Let Me Wonder in stereo these are included here as well. When I first saw this I thought it was a gimmick that I didn't need until I realized that there were new stereo mixes involved. If only it could include a full stereo mix of I Get Around and for the next set Good Vibrations. But if you want to see how the band emerged singles-wise, this is pretty cool.

- This is a great compilation. Paul Rogers has one of the greatest voices in the classic rock era. This offering is packed with essential hits and will leave you singing along the whole time.
- There's a reason why this is called "Original"; it's the Bad Company with Paul Rodgers as the vocalist. Which means it's the only Bad Company that counts. I mean, it's like Black Sabbath without Ozzie or Van Halen without David Lee, it's just not the same. Call me a purist.
This Anthology just about has it all from the original group, including four new songs. This two disc set has outstanding songs including "Can't Get Enough", "Rock Steady", "Ready For Love", "Bad Company", "Good Lovin' Gone Bad", "Feel Like Makin' Love", "Burnin' Sky", "Rock and Roll Fantasy" & "Tracking Down a Runaway" (a new cut that sounds like it could've been from the era of their debut album). There's some previously unreleased tracks & b-side 45 tracks but nothing very revelatory. The track "Smokin' 45" (previously unreleased) has lyrics by Pete Sinfield who did the same thing for King Crimson & Emerson, Lake and Palmer.
The liner notes are good & has the lyrics to all the songs. The only reason I didn't give this album five stars is because there is too much filler here. I know, that's MY problem.
- Bad Company as a band certainly deserve a 2-disc compilation, but I'm not sure if the 'Original' lineup does. Believe it or not, but the late-80s lineup without Paul Rodgers had 15 charting singles, more than the 'Original' lineup. I would've preferred one disc with the classic lineup and a second disc with the late-80s lineup.
Anyway, "The 'Original' Bad Company Anthology" is missing a few hits: "Electricland", "Live For The Music" and "Young Blood". The new tracks, are very good, however.
- the oringinal bad co anthology is all the casual bad co fan could ever want all the hits, good deep cuts, and some new tracks that aren't half bad. but like the title says this is the "original" bad co anthology so it only covers the oringinal group which wrote the groups first six albums. but odds are that wont bother any but the most hardcore fans. so if its bad co you want and you only want to make one purchase then this is the one for you
- overall worth the purchase, 2nd CD is less then average, but the 1st CD is very good

- This is an absolutely incredible collection that anyone who even remotely likes Bob Dylan should own. I purchased it brand new and it came in wrapping, but it consistently skips on one song at the same place. I noticed slight gouges in the CD.
- This is the first of the Bob Dylan official Bootleg Series offered by CBS/Sony and it offers up a delicious set of recordings that any Dylan fan just has to love. Most of these songs have appeared on Bootlegs over the years, but not all of them. There are some gems here that must have been shockers to both Dylan fans and Dylan bootleggers alike, especially the hauntingly beautiful "Farewell Angelina" that Dylan gave to Joan Baez to record. Hearing Dylan do it himself is a pure pleasure. And the two closing songs, "When the Night Comes Falling from the Sky" and "Series of Dreams" are just outstanding. What a rock song, "When the Night Comes Falling from the Sky" is. Wow!
I particularly like the Infidels outtakes on disc three, from "Tell Me" through "Blind Willie McTell." But wait! There's more," the Alternate take of "Subterranean Homesick Blues," is just as good as the original and will have you singing the words right along with Dylan, if you still know 'em, that is. "Nobody 'Cept You," left off of Planet Waves is a heart rendering love song, "She's Your Lover Now," left off of "Blonde on Blonde, because they never got the last verse right, is a song I play all the time. Actually I play this whole set all the time. It's just great.

- I am very pleased with the product-most liked tracks were the later ones particularly willie mctell
- I would let all of the 5 star reviews on here speak for themselves but I feel compelled to interject with my twocents. I bought this compilation way back when it was released (1991-ish?) and I was quite frankly blown away. That the music is unique in both content and substance goes without saying, however there is a certain depth here. This is music that has the ability to move you and open new spiritual horizons. Humor, sincerity, a plea to the better angels of our nature, etc.; all of these you will find for your listening pleasure on the Bob Dylan Bootleg series, lo these 17 years hence.
- This is by far the best album in my collection and every time you listen to it I feel like I could be sat in a little club in the sixties listening to Dylan on stage.
A must have for any collection 5 stars!!

- This box set gives you all studio and live albums in one, compact and uniform looking box set. CCR has many good songs, all of their popular ones are very good, but there are lots of other good ones that are not so popular. It comes with 6 discs. One disc is pre-creedence material that is actually very worthwhile. Two of the discs are kind of a live version of songs. The set also comes with a 20-30 page booklet with all kinds of commentary on what CCR was and how they came to be.
To me, discovering CCR was like finding something new and fresh when looking back in time. They are a definitive band of the 60s and 70s and I really can't understand why the radio stations I hear don't play more of them...
- This set has to be the best historical set of Creedence Clearwater Revival. The remix is excellent which allows you to enjoy this "classic" compilation in digital sound. If you are a CCR fan this is a must have set!!
- Creedence never die.
I'm a big fan of their music, and now with these cd pack i can feel the firsts sounds of the band.
I'm realy enjoying the firsts achords of Creedence Clearwater Revival.
And btw it sounds really great. High definition sound without "back rain".
- Fantastic remastered sound, even in the earlier recordings; great photos and comentaries; nice box presentation, you really must hear and have it!
Paulo Vitor.
- Although I like to have all the seperate albums the same as the vinyl ones I ordered this box for a price worth it. What's making it really worth is that you have all the recordings from CCR (even the live-ones) and pre-CCR at once in a very high (remastered) quality. Listen how good John Fogerty (and his bandmembers) really were at that time and still is after all those years!
