- I heard the Brooklyn All Stars performing "...On The Banks of Jordan..", one Sunday morning on the radio, and I was instantly hooked. I made this purchase just for them and I am very happy to have the lovely 2-disc set w/ all the gospel greats. The other artists are just the "cherry on top".

- As the other reviewer said, this is definitely not for the "purist" or anyone else who doesn't want to hear even more schmarmy versions of songs that, while great, tend toward the schmarmy. Great selection, but I couldn't take the same-sound, electronica organ backup for every cut. I much prefer "Classic Country: Great Story Songs" from Time Life. Just my $.02.
- This hard-to-find set of country songs has a good selection from the 1960s and 1970s. If you like that era and don't want to invest a lot of money in CDs by individual artists, this is a good choice. Unlike some country classic selections, it is not limited to songs produced by one company. There are plenty of great "somebody done somebody wrong songs." Several songs made the rock or pop charts (such as Skeeter Davis' "The End of the World") or run counter to the stereotype of country music as catering to the narrow-minded (Henson Cargill's version of "Skip a Rope"). Purists will not like the fact that all but two of the 36 songs are studio re-recordings. However, that does improve the sound quality and it's hard to see that any of the singers have lost much over the years. A more serious flaw is that the instruments seem to lack character, so this is geared more toward those who focus on the vocals. If you're more interested in original recordings, you may prefer something like Columbia's Country Classics Volume 3 --Americana.

- I ordered this item back in December 2006 and Amazon just keep on delaying the shipping date.
I'm not sure why Amazon doesnt just take this item off the catalog.
They just dont have this and does not seem like they can get a copy of it.
So do not order this item from Amazon, you will be waiting forever.
Amazon, just say you dont have it and can't get it and stop sending email notices to delay shipping and asking for my approval.
- These cds are delightfully narrated by children and several well known Christian artists. They are interesting enough to capture children's attention, but sophisticated enough so that the parents can tolerate listening to them in their entirity. They include many of the best known Bible stories, along with corresponding songs. They are Biblically accurate. Our children are thrilled with them.

3 comments about Worship.
- As a student at Liberty University in the years 1990's, I was exposed to the music of Miachael and have ever since stayed in love with his music. This present collection of two CD and DVD is simply worshiping God at it's best. There is a section during the concert were even Michael couldn't do anything but let the Holy Spirit of God do His thing! The Spirit of God just rained down, filled the atmosphere and was so sweet, some people cried. Michael had to take his fingers off the key board and just listen to the crowd as the crowd sing to the Lord. This is Worship and praise at it's best.

- This is a 3 cd boxed set featuring the 'Worship' audio cd, the 'Worship Again' audio cd and the 'Worship' 2002 Canada live concert dvd featuring songs from both audio cds. It also includes some bonus features. I love the songs on the audio cds. They are songs we all know and can sing along to. The live worship experience is awesome, and spiritually uplifting. It's such a great value to have this muti-purpose boxed set rather than buying all three separately.
- MWS has evolved into an phenominal worship leader. This collection is a must have for any Christian who loves modern praise and worship.

5 comments about 100 Hymns and Praise Classics.
- It is hard to find compilations that give you more than a taste of the music you want. That is not the case with these CD's. It lifts my heart to hear older more traditional Hymns performed in this age of pop worship which I will admit has it's place. Any form of worship to the Lord is better than most of the degrading music on secular CD's, radio and TV. Not all of the renditions hit the bullseye but just hearing them done with the reverence they deserve is truly the reason I bought this set. Just the sheer number of Hymns is gratifying. Praise the Lord!!!
- If you like traditional hymns and the majectic Mormon Tabernacle Choir sound. This is not it.
- As best I can tell, Madacy first released the 3-CD box set entitled "100 Best Loved Hymns" in 2001, featuring various artists performing traditional classics. Since the original release, those same 100 tracks -- same singers, same musicians, same arrangements -- have been mixed and matched into so many other CDs that I keep uncovering them. Some or all of these original tracks have been used in different combinations to produce: "100 Hymns and Praise Classics" (4-CD box set), attributed to 'Various Artists'; "50 Hymns & Praise Favorites" (2-CD set) and "50 Hymns & Praises" (3 CDs), attributed to the Joslin Grove Choral Society; "A Treasury of Golden Hymns" and "50 Amazing Hymns", attributed to the Great Plains Chorale; and "Inspirations: 50 Best Loved Hymns", disingenuously attributed to Thomas Kinkade solely because he provided the cover art. All of these CDs are posted separately on the Amazon site.
Of all of those releases, this is one that has all 100 tracks. At the time of this writing, its cost is comparable to that of the releases that have fewer than the full 100 tracks. Thus, if you like the Madacy collection of classic hymns, this is the logical one to buy. (Suitable, and perhaps less expensive, alternatives are any one of the multiple releases of the 3-CD "100 Best Loved Hymns" box set, all of which have exactly the same tracks.)
Regarding the content of this oft-released, multi-titled, multi-attributed collection of tracks, the hymns are sung in traditional arrangements, often with a full choir accompanied by a piano or organ. Some are by soloists or smaller groups of singers, accompanied by a piano. If you're looking for a solid traditional presentation of these classics, you will probably not be disappointed. I would give the music 4 stars rather than 5 because some of this choral group's soloists on some tracks -- while good singers -- have voices that are perhaps not sufficiently smooth and mellow to allow them to come across well as soloists on a recording. However, I have boosted the rating to 5 stars for this particular box set because it is the full 100-track version, and I want to distinguish it from the 4-star ratings that I have given to the other releases having fewer than the full 100 tracks.
- I would recommend this 100 Hymns & praise CD because it has all the classic favorite hymns that I like. It's a complete set and all of the songs were wonderful with beautiful vocals. I would highly Recommend it to anyone who likes traditional hymns. Some of the CD had similiar tone/instrument sounds and most of them are choir sung and not individual vocals but overall the songs were AWESOME! This set is great to Praise God at home or in the car!
- All I can say is don't listen to these CD's while driving in heavy traffic. You don't want to be trapped in a car with THE SOPRANO. At some point someone should have said, "OK Doris, back away from the Mic and let someone else have a chance." Maybe she's married to the producer. And let's talk about the automated-percussion. I don't know about you, but I don't really think "I Love to Tell the Story" needs a lot of cymbals, but that's just me. I came to anticipate each and every cymbal crash, and I was not disappointed. Amazon should put this in the 2 for $5.99 bin. Makes this Lutheran girl long for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

5 comments about Ultimate Kids Song Collection: 101 Favorite Sing-A-Longs.
- I read all the great reviews for this CD and bought it. I HATE it! I can not stand to listen to the children on the CD singing off tune. The quality of the singing is so poor. The CD does have many familiar songs (I didn't listen to all 4 disks, I gave up after 3) but I just can't bear this one. My toddler didn't seem so fond of this collection either. I laid all of his CD's out for him, and he has not once chosen to listen to this one after I initially played it for him. He does have many other favorites though. This one really is torture if you care for good music at all.
- Our 23 month old daughter LOVES this set! As soon as she gets into the car seat, she says, "Play my music?!" She bobs her head happily and claps along joyfully. She really enjoys the animal sound effects and the children's voices. She has the first cd memorized already and enjoys singing along to the different songs.
Some parents may find some of the songs annoying, as some of the arrangements may not be as they remember. I tend to skip over some of the "original" songs (playing w/matches, strangers), just because I think they sound too fun for such serious issues.
Overall, this is a good purchase for your child. It brings out the kid in all of us!
- Since I became a new mom, I had bought several CDs of children's songs for my baby. However, most of them are [weak]. So I didn't expect too much from this set of CDs. What a nice surprise, the Ultimate Kids Song Collection is by far my favorite as well as my 1 year old's. Baby loves it and starts bouncing whenever I play the CDs. The set contains 3 CDs with 101 songs (over 3 hours of music). This is quiet a bargain at around [$$] considering the great quality of recording. The performance by the Wonder Kids choir is superb. Also, the songs were recorded in split tracks so you can have karaoke style fun.
- The music on Disc 3 is snappy, upbeat and a pleasure for adults and children. I am a rock-n-roll fan but this is a cool disc. My wife and I will certainly locate and buy the remaining discs in this set.
- Please do not get me wrong. I received this collection as a gift and it is quite comprehensive. However, as an elementary school teacher and mom I have had plenty of experience with the genre. I am a firm believer that children deserve the same (or better) quality as adults do (in music and all other things).
That said, this recording is very inferior. The recordings are of a quality that makes them unpleasant (almost downright irritating) to listen too. The nice melody, rhythm and careful arranging that goes into other recordings is missing here. The end result is considerably less enjoyable, than say a Raffi or even a Barney CD, and there is a whole lot more of it to endure.

- I'm still not sure if the artists on this recording are really the Gaithers or not! This is some collection put together by Madacy, the Canadian outfit that routinely makes things sound more inviting than they actually turn out to be. Waste of money.
