- beautifull gospel album. priase ye the lord! its great album. goes well with the "Inside Job/Only Jesus " album aswell
- I heard these (then) cassettes when they were first released as a teenager in KC. Tremendous lyrics mixed with classic Dion sounds make for an enjoyable listening experience. If you know Dion's story and you stop and hear what he's saying here -- its pretty profound. Everyone I have allowed to hear any part of this two-in-one cd collection has absolutely loved it -- it's not preachy -- it's simply Dion's story -- it's what he found to be true and faithful in his life. Good stuff!
- Dion's other take on music, gospel/Christian, is absolutely enjoyable, mainly because you don't lose any inkling of the man, his voice, and his style. This is rock, reggae, bluesy, doo wop. Some songs are written by Dion and the CD offers music one has never or rarely heard of. You won't find the standards here.
The lyrics are backed by his usual array of instruments, lead, rhythm and accoustic guitars, drums, percussion, systhesizer, congas.
It's his unique true to Dion style that makes this gospel genre unique, refreshing and fun! I love it. What is neat is that listening to this isn't going to require that "right time to hear gospel"; it is great anytime without feeling the need for a Christian mood.
I highly recommend this Dion Live in Concert DVD; it is excellent!
Live in Concert or, some great CDS:
Yo Frankie
King of the New York Streets: a 3-CD collection
Déjà Nu ...........MzRizz
- Better than Dion's first. Great to share with friends.
- For anyone interested in contemporary Christian music like myself who cut their teeth listening to Dion and the Belmonts during the rock 'n roll era, this type of cd is for you.

- This is a great CD. Lots of variety in the song choices. Not the "same ol' same ol'" that sounds like the same song playing for 20 tracts! If you love bluegrass and singing about heaven and the Lord you gotta buy this CD. If I am gonna listen to bluegrass I wanna sing for HIM! This will keep your toes tappin' and your heart a-singin'! I definately recommend this one!
- I'm not going to be long winded in this review like I've seen on some albums. If you enjoy bluegrass music and you enjoy praise and worship, this album is a must for your collection. The song choices are great, the performance quality is awesome, you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend this album.

- This album isn't anything new or special. It's satisfactory at best. Seems to draw a lot of comparisons to Underoath, but they really don't sound alike. The clean singing sounds a lot more like Atreyu. In any case, they fail to deliver anything groundbreaking.
The album gets very repetitive and I got bored with it fairly quickly. It's not a terrible album, but at the same time, it isn't fantastic. I will say, there are a few tracks that I did thoroughly enjoy. Sleeping in The Train Yard is probably the best song on the album and it was very well done. If We Live Right, We Can't Die Wrong is also a good track, although I got bored of it. Some of the songs sound good at first but after a couple of listens you start noticing the problems with the song until it gets unbearable.
Now, the biggest problem with this CD is the vocalist. He has absolutely NO range at all. Normally, that isn't too big a problem for me as long as the vocals still sound good. They do not in this case. The clean singing is decent. The harsh vocals just ruin the song. His monotonous yells just get more and more irritating every time I listen to it.
Also, I want to point out that this sounds nothing like The Devil Wears Prada, Oh, Sleeper OR Still Remains like the previous reviewer pointed out. Absolutely NOTHING like those bands and I don't know why he made a point of saying that. TDWP and Oh, Sleeper are great bands that put a lot of passion into their music, something this album lacks.
This album lacks passion but has plenty of aggression and some "OK" breakdowns and I can't completely dismiss it as garbage because, I admit, I enjoyed this album at first. Had I not listened to it two or three more times I might've rated it higher. I would give it a chance and see if the vocalist doesn't annoy you too much. Worth a listen, especially Sleeping in The Train Yard.
- So maybe I'm a bit hard to please, I tend to think not though.
Gwen Stacy is yet another new "Christian" band trying to break into this new sector of metal. And If you aren't aware of it yet -- it is a sector that basically ripped of screamo style vocals and threw in a breakdown or two. After my time with the album, I've come to conclusion that there is nothing new or nothing unprecidented on this album. It sounds eerily similar to the other Praise Metallers around. I.E; Still Remains, The Devil Wears Prada, O Sleeper, and every band that is signed to the Solid State record label.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the album simply because the band is Christian. There is just really nothing new. Its the same stagnant guitar riffs, tired drumming, one note breakdowns, and pinched nose clean vocals that is heard time and again on other albums by other bands. Porbably only recommended for guys with women jeans, "guyliner", infant sized tee shirts, and those that love to do the rediculous look hardcore dancing.
- I hardly post reviews, much less have the time. But, I thought this album deserved a good review worth my time and a bit of positive rattle from me to encourage others about their band. I have found Gwen Stacy to sound like other bands, but they also play themselves on the front of their music. Band sounds that they spill into are that of Beloved, Evergreen Terrace, The Devil Wears Prada, August Burns Red, and Norma Jean. The most unique song that gives the album a turn toward it's end is #9- Sleeping in the Train Yard, which starts out with a 3 minute intro. All of the other songs are good, have good breakdowns, don't sound like other songs on the album (in my opinion), and it didn't take me "getting used to it" or "letting it grow on me" before I liked the entire album. I agree with the last reviewers choice of songs. They're ALL really good though.
This album has been spun in my car and room many times, for it is not an album full of monotonous songs that sound like each other. That's another reason I was attracted to this band at 1st. Also, they're a Christian band on a secular label (Ferret Style), similar to Stryper on Hollywood Records. They were also outspoken about how the album's lyrics were about faith. This is a solid album. They're also on tour with Inhale Exhale of Solid State Records at the moment.
- I saw these guys in concert last night as the opening act for Haste the Day and Scary Kids Scaring Kids, and liked them so much I picked up their CD. I've been listening to it all morning, and I can assure you it's great. Great syncopation, and the melodies are solid and catchy in many cases. The CD is sufficiently heavy, and they remind me of Underoath (I'm sure, in part, because of the Christian thing). Seeing as constant screaming can get tiring, the bassist does clean vocals at some point in almost every song. In short, the CD sounds like a sophomore or junior release, despite the fact that this is their first album. Go get it.
Update: Some of my favorites include I Was Born with Two First Names, What Will Happen If I Hit Enter, Sleeping in the Train Yard, and Gone Fishing. See You in a Year.

- This CD is great! The Wedding have a great punk style and they just get better!
- This is an amazing CD... but you can read the other reviews to find that out...
Here is an accurate track listing (amazon messed it up and I am copying this off of the actual CD):
1) Morning Air
2) Move This City
3) This Time I'm Leaving
4) Wake The Regiment
5) One Eye Open
6) Price For Love
7) Death By Xanga
8) 479HxC (Through The Night)
9) Joyride
10) But A Breath
11) Water Under The Bridge
12) Song For The Broken
- This cd has Christian values, Great Vocals, Great Guitars, and Great Drums. I would sujest this cd to ANYONE who likes Christian Rock music. It is the best cd I own, and I am VERY happy with what I got(this cd).
- What the wedding does it does in a very interesting way. Most will say it's routin pop-punk but there is much more to the band. They combine pop with punk, emo and some light hardcore. In the end what u get is not the annoying punk music similar to something Greenday or blink 182 would do but something that is original. Grinding guitar riffs combined with some interesting lyrics make The wedding more then just your average pop punk band. Very enjoyable music.
- This is an amazing debut from a great rock band. These guys perfectly combine punk, emo, hardcore, & indie. Think Kids in the Way meets Hawk Nelson meets Dashboard Confessional meets The Rocket Summer. It has some excellent enthusiastic punk anthems as well as some softer emo ballads. My favorite song is probably "One Eye Open," although it's pretty hard to pick a favorite with a CD this good. The lead singer, Kevin Keihn, has such an amazing voice and the whole CD is just packed with so much raw energy, passion, and emotion. Out of the hundreds of Christian rock CD's I've collected over the past 10 years, this is my favorite CD of all time. There's something special about EVERY song. It seems like I have a new favorite song off this CD every couple weeks. And the CD never gets old. Get your hands on this CD ASAP. You won't regret it.

- I Love and still love this CD. I bought it when they came to our annual Trunk-or-treat at the fairgrounds that our church holds every year (this was about 5-6 years ago) and I STILL love their music. I am 14 and still love their music. The best part is that our whole family can listen to this while in the car and NO ONE COMPLAINS. also I listen to it everyday when I am doing homework and it relaxing yet at the same time I can get all my work done. It is entertaining and a must have!
- This is my favorite Go Fish Album. Their "non-acappella" stuff just doesn't measure up. Well worth your money!!
- This cd shows just what I love about Go Fish. Their harmonies are perfect, their songs are creative, and their acapella perfect! I met these guys when they were just starting out in the midwest in the late 90s and performing at my church, where one of the members fathers was my pastor. Acapella is what they started with, and it's what they do best. If you buy a Go Fish cd, Out of Breath should be the one!
- Here's your chance to hear the best of Go Fish's acappella! Out of Breath is their first CD, with the purest and most beautiful "acappella with an attitude" you can imagine. It starts with a song "Fishers of Men"... taken from the same Bible verse that Go Fish derived its name from, Mark 1:17 "'Come,' Jesus said, 'and I will make you fishers of men.'" This album includes the original version of Go Fish's most popular song, "You're My Little Girl," and Go Fish's theme song-appropriately titled-"Go Fish." Also on this album you'll find "That Acappella Sound"... a song great for its audience interaction when sung at a live concert. There's also "What Mary Didn't Know"- a song with a powerful message about the importance of witnessing- "The Eagle Song"- a beautiful, contemplative melody- "The Love"- a catchy tune with a clear cut message- and "Twinkling of An Eye"- a song that stresses the importance of making the decision to follow Jesus. "I Can Live With That" is an upbeat, fun song which humorously shows that relationships are more important than circumstances, while "Be That Way" serves as encouragement for the person who is scared by new and big decisions, and with the prospect of being isolated or misunderstood for their beliefs. "Be That Way" expresses that no matter what happens- big decisions, loneliness or misunderstanding- the most important thing is to focus on God and to want to "be the way that You [God] want me to be." The song "Don't You Know" points people to heaven... telling them not to just look at Christians, because "if I [a Christian] had a dime for everything I did to make You [God] shake Your head, I'd be a wealthy kid. So when people see me fall like I tend to do, I pray they see past me, and somehow look to You." The song stresses that "you've got to look to heaven." Last but certainly not least, Out of Breath contains the beautiful "I Love You Lord" (Go Fish acappella with an attitude style, with additional poignant lyrics by Go Fish founder/writer Jamie Statema) and a studio blooper clip called "Half Step Higher." If you want to hear Go Fish's first, most beautiful music, and acappella at its best, check out "Out of Breath."

- This is bar none - the best compilation of gospel music I have ever heard and that covers decades' worth. But more than the latter is the simple fact that it's Christmas - and many Christians are interested in music that truly represents this most holy time of year. I cannot fathom another collection that would offer such s magnificent Christmas gift to a loved one - including yourself! As a compilation, its value as a best-of-genre is a serious consideration of worth given today's difficult monetary times. I was able, frankly, to purchase this because I cannot afford to buy each and every original album of Dion's magnificent gospel music in that purist sense. Thank goodness Amazon provides such great offers like this one that we can all enjoy. Last but not least is the surprise you may experience as I did with the music itself - laid back, relaxed, elegant, poignant, deep, and...a kind of perfect peace that really does passeth understanding. You'll treasure this gift from God forever....
- the best gospel music i have heard in a very long time. dion sings the truth of real life, god and himself.awesome cd.amazon.com could not have done better getting my order through.perfect service!!
- I loved it. I recomend the other two gospel albums (well 4 actually) Inside Job/Only Jesus AND I Put Away My Idols/Kingdom in the Street.
Get them two instead!
- Hi!...thanks for reading this review!..forget the 1st. reviewers comments ..this is a 5 star c.d. Christian , or otherwise , this is still one of my favourite singers , and only Dion (di mucci) seems to be able to touch the human heart in such a poweful manner !!"Centre of my life", .."Sweet Lord Jesus", ...especially "The Truth will set you free"!, ( my all-time favourite Dion song!!!!!) ..all the soings on this c.d. are truly remarkable , and , friom a Christian perspective (which i am !) ...incredible!!!!!BUY!!!!!
- This a highly interesting selection from about 6 different gospel albums that Dion recorded in the 1980's. 2 of the songs,, Sweet Surrender and Truth Will Set You Free earned their way into Dion's boxed set collection of greatest hits, and You Need A Love , along with Train For Glory , probably belong in that boxed set as well. Sweet Surrender, in my opinion, is one of Dion's most memorable songs, and I rank it right up there with John Lennon's Imagine.
For those familiar with Dion's personal life, Center Of My Life takes on a special significance, and Still in the Spirit is also a first rate song. The liner notes by Little Steven of the E Street Band are yet another reminder of the musical link between Dion and Bruce Springsteen. The only reason I did not give this cd 5 stars is because "best of" compilations should not be rated on the same scale as an album of songs that were all recorded at the same time - it is an unfair comparison. But this cd is an excellent showcase of the gospel side of Dion, and can be enjoyed with or without any religious fervor.

- Absolutely love the CD especially Track 7 when her 5 year old son recites the St Francis Prayer in Gaelic. I found the CD very spiritual and recommend it highly, though I thought the price was high. I did receive within a few days of ordering it.
- I discovered Maire through being a fan of her sister Enya who've I've been listening to for some 20 some-odd years. Maire's vocal style seems more Irish to me and I appreciate the contrast even though they sound a lot alike. In some ways her music sounds more modern, but it doesn't distract from the excellent ethereal qualities of her voice. I'm very glad to have discovered her.
- This album is a bit more of a depature for Maire. There is less traditional style elements, and more 'modern Celtic new age' themes.
Continues with the religious themes brought up in 'Perect Time' this does push more toward Enya's style.
The copy I acquired was printed in Japan so I got a bonus track only available on that copy.
As always she has such a style in mixing Gaelic and english lyrics.
This goes beyond the typical Clannad albums and is truely more etheral and surreal. Wonderful mood music.
- In trying to put my finger on what makes Whisper different from Perfect Time, I guess you could say is that it has a different style. It's still Moya but from a different musical perspective. Good music, always beautiful voice, but just not as magical to me as was Perfect Time.
My favorite song is Be Thou My Vision. This is 95% Moya's voice and a little background music but oh how beautiful this song is! This song puts you in a different place and takes your breath away. My only hit on this song is that it is way too short! Moya sings Gaelic so beautifully that I think your soul just sings along with her and fills your heart with joy.
Other favorites include Peacemaker and In God's Presence. Peacemaker features a child speaking in Gaelic and Moya filling in musically between spoken verses--a different kind of song altogether and your can feel the passion of the guitar playing along with Moya's voice. In God's Presence is a choir song with Moya singing along with a church choir. Like Song of David in Perfect Time, this song moves my soul.
Don't be put off by Moya's Christian influence here. This is music anyone can listen to. The only thing you will feel is uplifted and satisfied at hearing good collection of songs by Moya.
- I hate to say it but Maire Brennan's 'Whisper to the Wild Water' is the least favorite CD to be found amongst my Clannad, Enya, Maire collection. Yes her voice is beautiful as always but it seems somewhat lost and out of place in the techno-pop music that dominates this -13 track- CD. Those tracks that do manage to stay away from the contemporary beat fair a little better but still not up to past performances and material.
If you want just one or maybe two Maire CD's in your collection this is not the one to get.

- I believe "Hold Me Close" is one of the ten most beautiful tracks ever recorded and Kim's vocal performance is about as close to heavenly as you'll get (tied with Crystal Gayle's "He Is Beautiful To Me").
- No problems with receiving this. This is one of my favorites by Kim.
- I only have this one album by Kim Hill and I found her voice phenomenal and pleasing to listen to..
Her choice of songs on this album are truly inspiring and, in particular "You Alone" for which she co-wrote the lyrics,.is a song of praise and worship to our wonderful God and Heavenly Father. The last track, which was written by her, brings back so many wonderful memories of my children when they were young and now they have grown 'like beautiful trees'. I recently lost the second youngest of my five children to an incurable illness and, in all my years of correspondence with her...she studied in the States, met her husband there and had three precious little boys there and also died there, I would always end my letters with the words "I love you to the moon and back". There is no measurement of our love for our children and it is, therefore, always a joy to give them our best. This is an album that will bless your heart and draw you closer to Jesus.
- This cd not only encourages me in my walk with Christ, it strengthens me daily to know how much He loves me. "All that I Want" and "You Are Still Holy" are songs that minister to my spirit daily. I would highly recommend this for anyone's collection as it contains many upbeat songs and several songs that take you deep into His throne room and deep into Arms of Mercy.
- This is currently my favorite CD. The songs have won me over one at a time. You are still Holy touched my heart last summer when I was going through a personal hard time. The line "Lord, I don't deserve your tender patience when my unbelief has kept me from your truth" was very reassuring. You Alone is the song when I am alone and He is all I need. Show the Way addresses the problem of evil in a powerful, hopeful way.
These songs and the way they are sung bring to into the Holiness of God mixed with the delight that God wants an intimate relationship with. Marvelous.

- I'm not actually Bryan, I'm his teenage daughter. This is a really great band. They're totally unique. I love the beats they put into their music. It's really addicting and makes you wanna dance. If you're into, say, Hawk Nelson or Stellar Kart or other pop-punk bands, then this is totally for you. I have a bunch of friends, guys and girls alike, with music interests from screamo to country to rock, and they've told me they like eleventyseven after just hearing them one time. They're a really fun band, and great in concert, too. I would check out both of their CD's. So if you're looking for a good beat, cool songs, and something just really different, then I've got one word for you: Eleventyseven
- First off, how come it took this long to get a song about Myspace? The song is terrible like the site, but hey, at least they did a song about the site.
Eleventyseven is another one of those bands that my younger sister would love, but not a more mature person. I mean really, if you've heard one song off this album, you've heard them all. Listen to "More Than A Revolution", you've heard the album. Unless I just happened to miss a song, which is possible since I fell asleep.
The whole thing screams Jonas Brothers quality, from the immature voice, from the lyrics, to a sad excuse for punk music, this album is a good one to give to your little brother. Thinking of the album for yourself? Don't bother.
Note: I've heard "It's Beautiful", and it sounds like the band will take a giant leap musically in the next album. We can only hope. The album cover looks awesome anyways.
- I like the band a lot, they are really great guys. The CD's okay... it's not going to be the best you've ever bought, but it's worth buying (especially if it's used). They're a Christian punk-ish band (though some punk bands might laugh at that notion).
- My friend pays for a music download service on his computer, so while I was crashing with him I decided to give eleventyseven's ...and the land of fake believe a listen. Although they aren't highly orginal or energetic, 11t7 do craft some decent pop-punk tunes any fan of the genre can appreciate. ...and the land of fake believe is a little bit overproduced, but that's to be expected from a major label cd. If you like Blink 182 or old Relient K, you'll probably like eleventyseven.
- Unfortunately, this CD could have been so much better. Although the CD is filled with catchy songs, many sound like clones of the first track. True, there are some that stand out more than others, such as "More Than a Revolution," "MySpace," "Odds and Even So's," and most of all, "Reach That Far." After listening to the CD through, you can tell that this band has much more potential, it was just slightly suppressed in this album. Add a bit of originality, make the songs a bit more diverse, and don't make all the songs in the same key, and you'll probably have EleventySeven's next record. If you're a fan of this kind of pop-rock, buy it, but if you've got cash restraints, wait for the next CD. It will be better.
