1. Powerhouse is White Heart's first album with Brian Wooten on lead guitar, and the difference is obvious! I think that White Heart put it all together for this album, meaning the message and the rock music quality is both very strong. I hadn't even heard of White Heart until 1995, so I couldn't give a review in the context of it being a new release. Let's look at the songs!
   
   1) Independence Day (9/10). This is a great rocking song with a 55 second introduction which is a recording of a parade with some famous speech cuts about freedom thrown in. The song itself is great...upbeat and hard rock! I have always loved this song!
   
   2) Powerhouse (9/10). One of, if not THE, hardest rock songs ever done by White Heart. Nothing fancy about the music, just strait rock with plenty of guitar muscle and a great encouraging message!
   
   3) Desert Rose (8/10). Not one of my top ten White Heart songs, only because I prefer harder rockers to ballads. That being said, this is a top notch ballad where, in my opinion, Rick Florian really shines as bright as ever...beautiful and goose bump worthy!!
   
   4) Lovers and Dreamers (7/10). Solid rock song, nothing special here...good message.
   
   5) Nailed Down (6/10). Get past the noise at the beginning and this is pretty good rock for filler.
   
   6) Messiah (10/10). I absolutely LOVE this song!!! Fantastic mix of message and first rate rocking! Certainly one of WH's top ten ever songs! We need a Messiah....!!!!
   
   7) A Love Calling (8/10). Beautiful long ballad with great fade in to.....
   
   8) Answer the Call (10/10). My personal favorite from this album...awesome vocals by Rick, great bass and guitar solos, and a message that every Christian needs to meditate on.
   
   9) Storyline (8/10). Most applicable message on the album coupled with catchy rock chorus and verses. I think it would've made the cut as a single...just not as heavy as I prefer.
   
   10) Lay It Down (7/10). Nice quiet ballad to close this CD out. Again, White Heart does a great ballad, but I prefer their harder stuff. Great job by Gersh on the vocals though!
   
   Powerhouse is certainly one of White Hearts stonger albums. You won't be sorry for buying it! Get everything from White Heart, at least from 'Dont Wait for the Movie' and later.

1. I have listen to Bryan Duncan since I was a very young; I am 17 now and still love this cd, I drive my mom crazy singing "Traces of Heaven!" This cd is a must have, and whoever buys it will be blessed!



2. Hello. This CD is good. Bryan Duncan has a neat voice. Really clear and easy listen to and understand.



3. Bryan Duncan should be applauded... this is definitely one of his best CDs. The music is all excellent, and has a way of working its way into your mind--once you've listened to it, you'll go back to it again and again.
