5 comments about Wow 1999: The Year's 30 Top Christian Artists & Songs.
- I have been a big customer of this CD series. I have bought every one of them from 1996-2005. The first few CDs in the series were not that great, because they would have a few contemporary christian songs and then they had a whole bus load of the crummy Gospel music. However, the WoW 1999 was the first year where they really said o.k. lets lose the gospel and stick to the contemporary rock/pop/alternative/rap Christian music. This set includes Third Days wonderful song "Agnus Dei" originally recorded by Michael W. Smith, Third Day takes it into a new genre Rock. Then there is The W's The Devil is Bad a hip swing tune about the temptation of the devil in our lives. Then we have one of the first appearances of Nichole Nordeman and Jeniffer Knapp.
To tell you the truth, if the company who puts out this series had not put this album out, I would not have bought another WoW CD simply because Gospel is not my kind of Music. However, because this CD was released I have continued buying into this franchise and I have been very pleased with every album since. Thank you for reading my review!
- This is one of the best Wow's ever made. It is such a random compilation that it actually works. There were some great bands back then. Three of my favorites Christian Artists, Smalltown Poets, Newsboys, and dc Talk all make an appearance on this stellar album.
- The only reason this album doesn't get 4 stars, is the inclusion of a few songs that I didn't feel mixed well into the collection. Namely, "His Cheeseburger." Don't get me wrong, the Veggietales are great, but the song on its own doesn't make much sense without the video.
However, the album is terrific regardless. It features one song that I am surprised didn't get more airplay "Strollin' on the Water". A very unique sound, that really resonates the longing to take those leaps of faith with Christ. To be fearless for God.
- This is by far the number one WOW cd of all times. Its got some of the best bands ever on it, like the Newsboys,DC Talk(Before they broke up), Smalltown Poets, Jars of Clay, and Supertones. What a combination! The WOW cds are a great alternative to burning cds. Why do you burn cds? so that you can get all of your favorite songs on one cd. WOW allready has most of my favorite songs on it. So I can legally listen to them. What a great idea!
- I absolutly love the first tape/c.d. in this set, the songs are well aranged to compliment and contrast each other. It's uplifting to listen to, and I never hit the skip button. However....the second tape, I don't like at all, and never even listen to anymore, I don't think the songs sound good together, and I just don't think they're as good as the first tape. But, in the end, I'd have to say that the first tape is worth paying for the full set.

5 comments about Mezzamorphis.
- Christian music is usually either artistically or theologically shallow; this album is neither. Thoughtful and deep lyrics on top of layers of artful and musical rock make this one of the best Christian CD's I've ever heard. Have had it 4 years, and still think it rates in the top 5 Christian albums ever.
(my other 4 are Smalltown Poets "Listen Closely", The Waiting "Blue Belly Sky", Rich Mullins "Liturgy, Legacy", and Mark Heard "High Noon", with a close 6th to Bruce Cockburn "Dancing in the Dragon's Jaws")
- i normally do not listen to christian music, i usually like the rock stuff, prodigy, nine inch nails lords of acid, ect. but picked it up one day through one of my sister's cds and I thought this cd was unbelievable, everything from the vocals, and the background it is that good
- What a stunner this album is. This one seemed to really put the cat among the pigeons regards fan reaction. Some consider it a little industrial, a little too hard-edged in terms of musical content. For me, it's trademark Delirious; daring, bold, passionate and unrelenting. This was Delirious coming off their "could we be pop stars?" trip, and many tracks here are deliberately single-length and as radio-sounding as possible. I consider this to hold Delirious back from their truly magical moments, found on more obviously worshipful recordings. Still, the album is consistent and coherant and flows well.
Stand-out tracks for me are the 'Mezzanine Floor', 'Bliss' (despite the tacky chorus and the somewhat dubious logic of having "really lived" even if they're completely wrong about their faith), and 'It's OK', which was released as a UK mainstream single and did relatively well considering a complete wall of radio silence. 'Gravity' tries a little too hard and the remix of the classic 'Deeper' takes away from how great it first sounded on 'King of Fools', but this album is a keeper and well worthy of my collection.
- Too often Christian music is done wrong. Horribly wrong. Either it's seen as a way to get started in the music industry("just write a song a slap 'Jesus' on the end") or it's used as an excuse for mediocrity.
Delirious thankfully erased this notion of mine O so many years ago. While they had written some very good worship music with Cutting Edge, no one could have seen Mezzamorphis coming. The melodies are wonderfully put together; and the lyrics have a surprising habit of touching me, even after all these years. Too good to pass up.
- There's not much out there in the way of explicitly Christian punk rock, so when you see a picture of this band, with its prominent leather, post-Rotten hairdos and creative facial hair, and compare the image to the lyrics, which on this album revolve around the central idea of reaching heaven (with a note to fans explaining why the word "hell" was used on one song), you might be excused for thinking that someone's finally done the unthinkable. But in fact, Delirious? isn't really a punk band at all. It's basically a pop group with occasionally extra-crunchy guitars. Luckily, it's a mighty fine pop group; between Martin Smith's powerful and gutsy voice and the songs' indelible hooks, Delirious? ends up sounding at times like a more specifically ideological Crowded House (as on "Follow" and the quietly lovely "It's OK"), and at others like a more intelligent Duran Duran ("Bliss"). The dogma is front and center; Smith isn't afraid to sing a line like "If I'm right then you are wrong" and, if that offends you, ask yourself whether you get offended by Consolidated or Rage Against the Machine. At least this band admits the possibility that it could be wrong. And it does so with hooks.

5 comments about Music Inspired by the Chronicles of Narnia.
- I found the album relaxing, and inspirational. The songs were in keeping with the theme of the movie which made the listening experience even more enjoyable. I would recommend this purchase to anyone who was inspired in faith after reading the books.
- This collection is incomplete without the celestial sound of Michele Tumes and her "Untamed Lion". Why was this excluded?
- Everything about the Chronicles of NArnia is amazing; the books, the movie, the sountrack... Therefore, this album has a lot to live up to. But it does its job admiringly. I had never listened to Christian rock before this cd, and it just goes to show that trying new things is really beneficial. The Jars of Clay opener is strong and engaging as well as Camp's "Open Up your Eyes". "Stronger" by Delirious is a light and sweet tune but lacks depth lyrically. The next track however, "Lion", is amazing and probably the best on the cd ("feels like I'm living in a lion's mouth, but the lion is an angel"). "I Will Believe" is a gorgeous sounding composition and then the album bursts loose with the crazy "Turkish Delight" by the DAvid Crowder Band. It's a great foot tapping song with lyrics that tell the exact story of Edmund and his obsession. A few of the songs on this cd are subpar which is why overall it got a 4. Otherwise, it's got some really engaging and creative melodies and is highly recommended to any NArnia lover.
- I bought this CD after going to a Rebecca St.James concert and hearing her sing the song Lion. The songs on this CD are well written and well preformed.
- Firstly, I don't like this album much because it's not my style at all. Mine, well, is Classical, Opera, Choral, and Soundtracks. But, I have to admit that this album is not that bad, I want to tell you that IF you want the movie soundtrack, you should take a carefully look more. It's not quite a good thing that you've purchased the wrong album, and wrote a blaming or bad review back. It's YOUR fault, actually. If you want the soundtrack, you should look at it more carefully. Also, I think it wrote on the cover quite clearly that this album is a 'MUSIC INSPIRED BY' album. However, I wrote this review for this album, not to blame the others, so I would like to begin my EXCLUSIVE FIRST review TRACK-BY-TRACK for Music Inspired by The Chronicles of Narnia. Oops! I almost forget it. I hope that I shall have a chance to write TRACK-BY-TRACK review for the other album, too. My projects are 'The Lord of The Rings: The Return of The King' original soundtrack composed by Howard Shore, and 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe' ORIGINAL special-edition SOUNDTRACK composed by Harry Gregson-Williams. So, some days later, there might be my review TRACK-BY-TRACK for these spectacular albums. Keep looking on my reviews, then. And Thanks, for the future.
Many of us might remember Steven Curtis Chapman. He wrote a song in the album 'Music Inspired by The Passion of The Christ'. Now, he's back in this album.
All right, I maybe talked too much now. Let's begin my review, then.
Track 1-Waiting for the world to fall
The music was good-written, and I use to have more confident when I listen to this track. Jars of Clay, the band, done this song nicely, and worthy the first song on the album.
Track 2-Remembering You
I think this track should appear in the last track on the album. The lyrics, and the music tell you that whatever may happens, no matter how bad is it, I shall be remembering you. I shall never forget the smell of flowers, or spring, or whatsoever that's good. Yeah, it should be the last track, but...
Track 3-Open up your eyes
The song shows you about new believe, new faith that you need to accept it, and open up your eyes and your mind, to see more in this world. It's good song, but a bit noisy.
Track 4-Hero
This song begins with rock music, but it's nice at the end. Maybe it shows about Aslan, the lion. He, probably related to the song as a Hero that we've been waiting for. However, I don't like the singer. She sings very, very unclear, and very hard to know what she sings.
Track 5-Stronger
Well, it's quite strange track. You see, the first four tracks are quite noisy and fun that pulled us in, but this one is different. It's slow, and not so exciting. And, I have to admit that I don't like the singer. He doesn't seem to pay attention much.
Track 6-Lion
My first listen, I didn't enjoy this track much, but then, when I listen for the fifth time, I think. This track's become my favourite track on the album. It's really a good song that sometimes makes me enjoy, but also, sometimes it makes me sad. I, basically, don't know why, but I really like the lyric of this song. Of course, this song tells you about Aslan. Rebecca St. James has prooved her performence once again. So, sometimes your first listen isn't always correct.
Track 7-New World
I don't like this track much. It's just screaming around like no people does. So, I didn't take my attention listening to this track, and I dare not write my review wrongly. Sorry.
Track 8-I will believe
Another good track in this album. But, it should be more slowly for this song. It's too fast that music does not complicated with the lyric.
Track 9-Turkish delight
I don't like rap music much, this track is for someone who likes rap, I don't like this track as same as New world. Clearly the song relates to Edmund.
Track 10-More than it seems
This track is nice, almost the end of the album. It's a good song and the band played nicely. I enjoyed this track.
Track 11-You're the one
Here we come to the last track on this album. I think it's too rocky song. But, it's just OK. I think Remembering you by Steven Curtis Chapman should come instead of this track to end the album, and move this track to track 2. But, yeah, for someone who likes rock music, he/she might enjoy it.
Here I end my first EXCLUSIVE TRACK-BY-TRACK review for MUSIC INSPIRED BY THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE. Also, I'd be glad if you'll take a look at my review in The Da Vinci Code Soundtrack. Please look forward on my reviews for the other albums. Thank you for your looking in the future.

- Sorry I have to say this WOW disk is a yawner. I would pass this one up and buy the others. I love WOW other than that.
- This is the first WOW CD I purchased and I was quite pleased. The songs, "Great Divide" and "Class of '95" were just right up my alley. I have purchased a few other WOW CDs...but this is still my favorite.
- As big a fan as I am of the Wow CD's, this one was probably the weak link of all of them because there was no variety in the styles of each song and they all sounded the same. However, I do like DC Talk "I wish we'd all been ready." All in all, the songs were just a little TOO mellow. I wouldn't recommend it.
- Music and lyrics are ALL highly inspirational. I was very moved. It will get you through the good and bad days (especially the bad days). I found this to be the BEST one out of all the WOW CDs. Get ready to feel lifted up to the clouds!
- WOW!!

- Although I am not a big rap fan, I found several tracks I liked. My daughters and I sing "No Wed, No Bed" a lot. I thought that was a good message for young people. I also liked Static and Devils Get Dropped. I agree, I would have like to have heard more "Jesus" and "God" and "Savior" in the lyrics, but overall, I thought it was a decent CD. I checked out the company's website, www.soldiersound.com and found really good videos. I really liked the rock video! I believe he is annointed and is a good witness for those who like this type of music. Even though this isn't my first choice of music, I believe it is for those who are lost and enjoy this type of music. I know people who worked with this CD and Pettidee and he is a nice geniune person who is God-fearing. Continue what you are doing Pettidee...use the talen God gave you.
- Yur Ok bro. Good hard hittin beats with dity South flavor. just rep the King more man. You do a good job of it, but I like it preached heavy duty.
Get this if you want hard hitting dirty south but just a 6 rating on the Jesus rep'n
- No real catchy tunes... some beats tricked me and made me expect that the lyrics would be pumping, but in every case I was let down. "I don't read the bible, I live it..." though you may still read the bible... um shouldn't there be a "just" in there too?
Nothing really caught my ear at all like with Thug Love, nothing to sing along with, nothing to... ah! I skip most of the songs to get to other artists!
Though I support the artist's ministry, I think I should have bought it used cheaper like it is now (under 3 bucks a pop).

- This album is off the hook! Too many strong points to mention them all. The truth stays clear as the track are nicely laid. Awesome production!
- This is a great album that should be heard by everyone. Beats on here are nice and Ambassador has some real MC skills. He drops great hip hop lines and the dude has a serious heart for the Lord. As a die hard hip-hop fan I was really impressed by this album.
Even my non-christian friends loved this CD. If you are looking for a way to break the stubborness of your friends (like I am) then this cd is a great tool. I've found that music is a great tool to soften non-believers' hearts.
- This cd is one of the worst Christain Rap album ever made!!! everything from the beatz to the flow made me wanna skip it...
- I'm a serious Cross Movement fan and I appreciate this effort to educate the church about Hip-Hop. If there is anyone who should spear head this mission it should be the Ambassador. However this album is not just for the church but for any fan of good music. Once you listen you'll feel this powerful message.

5 comments about WOW Gospel 2001.
- I'm afraid I'm seem to be in the minority here, but I really don't enjoy this particular Wow Gospel album. In fact, in comparison to all of them so far, including the latest one, this is the one I enjoy the least. There are a lot of songs that I can't get into because they aim to be more "fluffy" than substantial, especially on disc 1. This wow is simply one I cannot keep listening too, except for Shackles, Closer, and Rejoice (especially Closer by Lamar Campbell and co, which really ministers to me). Once by Londa Larmond is another favorite. If I would have gotten this when it came out, I would have been listening to this song everyday. But since I have her album, I must admit that the novelty has worn off somewhat.
This is truly my least favorite. This was from the 2000 season mostly, where it seemed gospel artists were trying way too hard to be "cool" and appeal to the masses but missing a lot of substance. It's just not one I can just listen to over and over, like the 1st 2 in the series. Even 2000 and 2002 are a little better than this one.
- This album ministers to ones spirit thru songs like; "We fall down". I highly encourage folks to get the whole Wow Gospel series. The cds help propell one further into the spirit world and they help further ones connection to the Creator and knowledge of God.
- I listen to Disc 2 every single day. I have others, but certain songs on this CD really touches me. As I strive to walk closer with the Lord, some obstacle always seems to find its way into my pathway. But when I listen to "Closer" and "Nothing Else Matters" my mind is clear of all that is going wrong that day or in my life. Why? Because I know that there is a God up above that seats high and looks low and will not let any hurt, harm, or danger come upon His children that love Him and want to do right by His will. It's trully my inspiration.
- I really enjoyed this compilation as well as the others. It did help me in knowing who was good in gospel and worth purchasing.
- As always the WoW compilation is excellent! ..., but besidesthat it's all good.
DISC ONE: The first five tracks on the firstdisc of WoW are very prestigious territory which I've noticed over theyears have been reserved for the 5 biggest and hottest songs of theyear, so naturally the album starts off with "Shackles [PraiseYou]" by Mary Mary, the biggest Gospel song of the year andpossibly the decade, basically to make track one on WoW you must havea video, an at least gold album and secular airplay. Then there's thehot "Let's Dance [Remix]" by first 5 track favorite HezekiahWalker & the Love Fellowship Crusade Choir which features gospelrapper B.B. Jay. Then there's another top 5 favorite John P. Kee, whomade it to track 1 with "Strength" back on WoW Gospel 1999and made track one one the second disc on WoW Gospel 1998 with"Stand". He's back at track 3 with his & the New LifeCommunity Choir doing their new single "Right Here". Nowhere's another top 5 favorite Fred Hammond & Radical for Christwith "I Want My Destiny [Live]", an unreleased version ofthe song from their 2000 pay per view special. And to round out thetop 5 is "That'll Do It", a blazin' hot track from Anointedfrom their to be released and named fifth album. Other standouts onthis disc are the hot "It's Alright [Send Me]" by WinansPhase II, "Personal Jesus" by the always controversial,Tonex, "His Love" by B.B. Jay, "Walk Right" byCommissioned, "Everyday" by Darwin Hobbs featuring MichaelMcDonald, "Fall Down 2000" by Kelli Williams, "I CameTo Jesus" by New Direction, and "Real" by theTommies. DISC TWO: The more traditional second disc starts outwith Shirley Caesar's newest single "Rejoice" and then movesinto the super tradional "Battlefield" by Norman Hutchinsand then "At The Table" by Richard Smallwood. Afterward isprobably the most beautiful song of the year. "We Fall Down"by Donnie McClurkin and Helen Baylor's "If It Had Not Been ForThe Lord On My Side" to round out the top five. Standouts on thesecond disc include the emotional "Memories [When Will I See YouAgain?]" by the Canton Spirituals feat. Albertina Walker and thehot, "The Holy Place" by Ricky Dillard & the NewGeneration Chorale. Now as far as the three unreleased songs on the CDthere's "I Anoint Myself" from the F. Hammond Presentsalbum and features RFC Soloist PamKenyon McDonald, .... Then there'sthe upbeat "Once" by Londa Larmond and to end there's"Better Days" by the male twosome, .... As usual the firstdisc is the saving grace of this series.

5 comments about Behind the Musik (A Boy Named Jonah).
- This cd has given my nephews alternative Christian rap music to listen to rather than the harsh rap that's out there now! Thanks KJ, may God continue to bless all you touch!!!!
- I've been a fan of KJ's since 7th Avenue, one of the more classic albums in the Gospel rap genre. Collaborations was entertaining as well, with a unique injection of comedy throughout.
Behind the Musik is a very good blend of the banging sound of 7th Avenue with the comedy of Collaborations. I'm a big fan of the result.
He is compared to Eminem more often than not, but this review is coming from one who has never listened to Eminem (aside from that hit that was played 100000000 times on the radio). That said, I think that KJ is a VERY welcome addition to the often-lackluster Gospel rap genre, and this album is a most excellent offering.
"Fivetweezy" gets stuck in my head a lot...and that's a good thing =]
- Okay, I think kids like. I thought this was the one with "A coke and a fry and acheeseburger" on it...not. It was really hard to find this specific info out on line since it is a hidden track on the CD.
- My son received 3 Christian hip hop CD's for Christmas and this was his favorite.
- KJ-52 is a man who we can all relate to. His words are true and his message is clear. No goofin' around here. You will know the truth after one spin around. So if you hear this CD, you are now "without excuse"!

- I have this cd from delirius? it is a very good cd! realy, it is one of the best! it is great music!

- if your looking for a delirious best hits album..here it is
not only does it include all their best hits, but they remixed a bunch to make this album double better!! this is a must have for all delirious fans, new and old
- Being from Britain, it goes to say that without a doubt, Delirious are missing the praise they deserve. Here they are known as a Christian band full stop, and unfortunatly that seem to have distracted people from the great songs they are plugging.
Admittedly, if you are not a Christian, then this is perhaps not the best Delirious CD to purchase. Recent albums have diverged slightly, covering broader areas of music rather than just traditional worship. It features alot of their earlier material, which is very much focussed on praise to God, so some might find it a bit 'heavy', fair enough if religion isn't your 'cup of tea'. But, nevertheless this is a great album. It features their best work and it is likely that anyone could relate to the lyrics in some way or another. It also highlights Martin Smith's brilliant skills as both a performer and a songwriter. I have stayed with the opinion for a while that if I could write songs as good, I would die a happy person. Highlights for me on the album are 'Sanctify', 'Jesus Blood', 'Thank You For Saving Me', 'Shout To The North' and 'History Maker'. The music is deep in places, heavy in others, but this fails to distract from the lyrics. Take time and listen to the music AND lyrics as a whole instead of two separate components and you'll find the prize very rewarding.

- I saw Anthony Evans sing at an event where his father, pastor and speaker, Tony Evans was speaking. I was so blessed by Anthony's music that I bought his new CD, The Bridge, from him in person that day. I love every track on this CD, from the covers of well known worship songs to the less known and original songs. I highly recommend this CD!
- This album went a different direction with the style of music. Now it is more about worship. The songs that i liked was meaningless, the way you loved me, and let it rain. I really like his second album "Letting Go" cause its a mixture of everything. this album is only gospel songs. Its a great album but not for me
- I really enjoyed Anthony Evans' last two CDs but this one is a pleasant departure from them. This CD is all about worship. Anthony's voice is clear and strong. The music is great as usual.
- I love this album. I listened to it on repeat on a trip today and from the first track was drawn in. Anthony does an excellent job of singing new and popular Christian worship songs with a soulful r&b flavor of his own.
