5 comments about The Boy vs. The Cynic.
- I really like this guy and his music. There's just not a better way to say it. Reuben's lyrics are very original and his personality and passions shine through them all. The Boy vs. the Cynic is up to par with his best. After listening to the music, I wonder if Reuben sees himself as the Boy or the Cynic, probably a little of both. Aren't we all? You'll dig it. And if you get the chance to check out his music videos... take it; they are hilarious and and high quality just like his albums. Thanks, John.
- Most songs were good, but some didn't sound that great. I would say about 8 out of 12 were good. I don't like 4 of them because they are slow. The first two are my favorite, because they have a better tune. More hip-hop than rap. Overall I am happy with it.
- For the last several years, John Reuben has been garnering himself quite the following in the Christian music world. As someone who has listened to him since his first CD (Are We There Yet) I have been able to see and hear the progression of his music and his message. For those familiar with his earlier CD's this one goes in a slightly different direction. Instead of it being just John, DJ Manuel, and occasionally Alan Augusta amongst a few others, John opts to go with a full band set up and delves into the rap/rock genre. And if I say so, he does it very well.
The first couple of tracks get you into the vibe of the CD, but once you get into the body of the album, John shows his musical growth. With songs that touch upon political correctness, the American coorporate ways, and the world of business marketing and the ways they do their business and place their expectations upon the unwilling public for their desires, he has begun to take on larger topics and grown his message to a much grander and profound scale. All of this is topped off with the self-reflective Boy vs The Cynic track. It is a slow brooding reflection upon how society and its ways effect him and how he copes and reacts.
While this may not be the same upbeat and fun Reuben sound most are used to, it is a huge leap in his progression as an artist. He still has his fun tracks on the CD of course, but the real meat lies in the new tone he throws in.
I highly recommend this CD for anyone who likes more of a rock vibe in their music as opposed to his traditional rap sound. The two are blended well. Regardless though, John Reuben is a tremendous artist and despite whether or not you may have liked some of his earlier things, this CD is worth a listen.
On a side note, see him live whenever you get the chance. He is a great entertainer and I have been lucky enough to see him several times (and even got on stage way back during the Are We There Yet years) and you just can't help but love it.
- Several good songs like "Nusiance" and "Out of Control" "Sunshine" "All I Have."
I really don't think J.R. is the best rapper. Sometimes he sounds like he's trying too hard to be one, and that's where the problem is.
Another thing that I didn't like was this: This album is definitely a little cynical. Not all of it. Just some of it.
I think if you find it for a good price then this CD is worth buying. It's great music for driving down I-45. Great bass.
- John is the most unique rapper in the Christian hip-hop areana. Each album has built on the one before, culminating in this CD. Having established himself as a rapper and gaining a fan base, John is now unleashing the hard truth. The most well known song on the album is Nuisance, but certainly not the only hit. Each song is a fresh (sometimes hard) reality check that continually inspires me. I especially love 'Sales Pitch,' it is agressive lyrically, vocally, and musically.
I've met a lot of people who do not like hip hop, but I've never met anyone who didn't like John Reuben. Check this guy out!

- This is both def and wack. Outasite dudes. Keep up with the driving and rapping beats. The rhymes are tight and the vocals are fantastic. Way to bring it playa!
- Now for people on here who claim that T-bone is not a real christian rapper, Let me tell you something: There are many things that T-bone says on this album that praises Jesus [Listen to ''Wipe your tears'', ''Conversion'', ''Tha last street preacha'', To name a few]. What most people don't understand is that when T-bone speaks of the stuff he speaks of, He's talking about his past and how god raised him up from that! Cmon, You can't be mad at T-bone because of his gangsta-ridden past! He's saved and he's a christian now! This album ministers to me every single time i listen to it. The hottest songs on here are ''Wipe your tears'' [My favorite song on the album], ''Ride wit me'', ''My dream'' [A testimonial song by T-bone that you shouldn't take as a gangsta song in disguise], ''Conversion'', and ''Throw ya handz up''. With his flow [Which he can rap slow or fast in english or spanish], T-bone clearly shows that he's the best thing that ever happened to holy hip-hop and he's probably the dopest hispanic rapper i've ever heard. I only wish his first 3 albums were still in print cause if this album is as dope as it is, I can only imagine what his earlier albums were like! But all in all, This is surely a satisfying christian rap cd that shouldn't be viewed the wrong way. This is inspiring for any christian who's had it rough before being saved. Hope my review helped. Be blessed.
- This is a sweet CD from T-Bone, I loved this album, I had it for about 2 years. He got some great tracks on this album especially "Wipe Your Tears". It's good for those who love rap especially fast-paced rap.
- This album is ok. I own other cds by T-Bone and this one just did not minister to me like some of his others. He does have some powerful messages but sometimes its hard to understand what he is saying when he is rapping rapidly.
- this was album was good..but not the best of ive heard..tracks that truly stand out in this are "Wipe Your Tears" "Conversion", "Mami Linda" " Last Street Preacha" "Freinds" " U dont know" " Throw yo hands up" and sum other were alright..but after hearing it a while u get annoyed by thew same stlye he repeats in his raps.. id stik wit Cross Movement.. but i gave this 3 stars cuz it aint the worst and it aint the best..dunt get me wrong..this album is good..jus not that good

- I can't believe this is sold in Christian bookstores! The content of this cd is all about self glorification and the power of MAN...not GOD. The inclusion of gangsta rap artists La Chat and Gangsta Boo who continue to release explicit material doesn't do much to "witness" either. Please note, there are no explicit lyrics on this album (the cover features a "spiritual advisory"). If focusing on good looks, money, and power for "MAN" is what inspires you then have at it...otherwise pass this "gospel" hip-hop album up.
- The intro started this CD off ok. It wasn't anything special, but most intros aren't. It went downhill from there. I honestly didn't like anything after the intro. It's amateur hip hop at best. Not everyone can do it, and not everyone should.
- This CD should not be labeled EXPLICIT LYRICS. There is a black and white box on the front that looks just like the typical warning label, but the text says "SPIRITUAL ADVISORY, GOSPEL CONTENT"
- 3-6 MAFIA WHO? MR DEL IS THE KING OF KRUNK!!! HOLY SOUTH REPERSENTS MEMPHIS AGAIN!!!! BUY THIS CD NOW!!!!

5 comments about The Supernatural Experience.
- Wow. Just watched this insightful 75-minute video, which mixes impressive live concert footage shot in May 1999 on the trio's "Supernatural Tour," interviews with Michael, Toby and Kevin, and two music videos -- the strong "So Long" and the incredible "Consume Me." It's interesting to hear the guys talk about the video shoots - the reason behind the song and video for "So Long;" how the icy, sci-fi vibe of "Consume Me" wasn't created just from the camera's hazy, colored filters. Audio of the DVD, which I heard is a transfer of the videocassette of the same name, is a strong stereo signal, and the picture, somewhat surprisingly considering it originally was shot for videotape distribution, is very sharp and clear with lots of details and depth. Highlights include a rousing "It's Killing Me," a moving version of "Red Letters" and a fine, spiritual take on "Into Jesus." This visual journey is a great peek inside Christian rock's modern musical warriors who threw open the doors for later artists like Third Day, Kutless, Skillet and Delirious? Simply put, dc Talk made music that continues to beat the work of all secular artists under the age of 40 (minus Coldplay and David Gray). Also noteworthy on the DVD is seeing bassist Otto Price in action on the stage - he provided the gritty bottom end on the "Jesus Freak" and "Supernatural" LPs, as well as Pete Stewart's eponomously-titled CD in 1999. (Stewart played those ghostly, innovative guitars on the "Supernatural" CD, a collaboration which served as the embryo for Michael's solo band, Tait, in 2001.) Although it's far from the trio's hip-hop/rap origins back in 1989/90, "The Supernatural Experience" is a must-own DVD, especially for the low selling price, along with the "Jesus Freak" and "Supernatural" CDs. Watching the DVD will make you hope that Michael tours again with dc Talk in addition to balancing duties between his upcoming tour with Carlos Santana and work with his Tait solo band.
- dc Talk takes it to the limit. Awesome tour footage and two videos make this one of the best videoes made by a band. Whether you're a dc Talk fan or not, you'll LVOE this video. Buy it now! You won't regret it.
- This video of DC Talk's is the best one they ever put out. You get a closer look at the band and their families. Alayna, Amanda, and Truett are in there! Plus you get a tour of Kmax's house, Michael producing the Pete S. record and Toby playing golf and hanging with his son Truett. YOu also hear DCT talk about the Jesus Freak book and the ERACE foundation they're working with. It's diffently worth the buy, even if your not a big fan, because you start to see these men's hearts and their love for Jesus!
- There was some doubt in my mind when i bought this video. I thought it could be as good a Welcome to the Freak Show or as bad as Rap, Rock, and Soul(which wasn't that bad, actually.) But when I popped this tape in, at first it seemed to be the same old concert clips. But once Toby started talking about golf Kevin about his home and family, and Michael about his dad dying when he was on the phone with him, it just sent me past heaven. Even if you hate DC Talk, everyone should listen to the clip from the E.R.A.C.E. rally. When Toby said we need to ask for forgiveness from all black people and Michael said that they need to forgive us, I was struck like a thunderbolt. If you've never heard their music, you'll catch on quickly
- the supernatural experience was a great tour You have to buy this video now if you haven't! Toby, Mike and Kevin are supernatural guys. We can't see the same every tour, they always create different things.

- This was Unity Klan's best offering by far. This album has so much upside with some ridiculously solid tracks. Unfortunately, some of the tracks on here are pretty worthless, so I can only guess at what could have been. Their lyrical content is very good for Gospel rap, their delivery just completely falters at times, and nails it other times.
I would strongly recommend going the MP3 route with this album, and only grabbing the tracks that suit you. Of course, you may be down with the whole thing =] I can only say I was not.
- This CD is just remarkable. The lyrics alone are worth the purchase, let alone the hip-hop beats. I enjoyed their first CD and when I found out about this one, I was all over it. I listen to this when I can, it's a great "booster" if you need your "God-mode" turned up! PRAISE THE LORD!! THIS CD IS WELL WORTH YOUR PURCHASE!!
- I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY: ONE OF THE SONGS ON A UNITY KLAN CD HAS INSPIRED MY YOUTH GROUP TO BE NAMED AFTER A SONG ON THEIR CD.
OUR YOUTH GROUP HAS CHOSEN UNITY KLANS MUSIC TO DO DANCE ROUTINES. ONE IS ENEMIES CAMP ON ONE DAY, WHICH 15 OF OUR YOUTH DRESS IN ARMY FATIGUES AND REPRESENT SOLDIERS FOR CHRIST! THIS MUSIC IS JUST WHAT YOU NEED IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A GOOD TIME IN THE LORD! I AM THE YOUTH DIRECTOR OF STRICTLY MINISTRY AND MOST OF OUR DANCE ROUTINES COME OFF ALL UNITY KLAN CD'S. GOD BLESS UNITY KLAN!
- This album has got to be the best. I love this group. This group is all about God and nothing but God. Its awesome. I love the lyrics and the beat. I would give anything to meet them and to have their CD again. I let a friend borrow it and she was gonna give it back, but they had set it on top of the car and by the time they had realized it, a truck had run over it :( I miss it so much. Anyway- this CD is tight and is da bomb. WEll, that's all I gots ta say about that right now- so lata and PEACE!!!
- Great, spirit filled group. I have heard a couple of their songs once before, and am constantly looking for more. Great beats, great rhymes, just an all arround great group :)

- I almost gave it four stars because it's close but the delivery of so many of their rhymes annoyes me. The content is good and the beats are decent but if the flow isn't right, I cringe...
- lemme c here - first there waz "composition no. 1" (phat, but lackin' sorely on cohesive post-production), then u had "call it what you want" (a slept-on collection that u prolly can't get anywhere now), then tha whole squint debacle that left their recording futurez in limbo, then tha personnel changez and solo releasez got thrown out there, then gotee got 'em and helped them push tha archived stuff out along with tha "baloney" EP, and then "the end is now" - perhapz tha most sonically satisfyin' CD 2 that point - dropped and if u weren't a fan of tha symph, that disc made u at least marvel at what they've accomplished amidst tha drama......
and yet, tha saga continuez with "disappear here" (full release #4, if you're countin') and they pick right up where they left off with infectious lyrix, phat beatz and a love 4 Christ and Hiz message that beliez tha dopeness. conspicuously missin' are eternal iconoclast pigeon john, tha once-ubiquitous b-twice, tha enigmatic terry mcfly (fka trendi mc) and personal fave greatjason (fka j-beits). but i'm more than cool with what'z left, becauze it all comez 2gether right. check out "grand piano", "funky music", tha lead single "timeless" and "hold on". THEN hit up their website and get tha rest of their junk....EXCEPT "call it what you want". wonder why THAT iz.....

2 comments about The Best of the Submissions, Vol. 3.
- This CD is incredible. It has submissions given from the hottest new artists out right now, lookin for their shot. THey've got something to prove and they show it here. This Cd is a must add to your collection. You will not be disappointed!
Hottest Tracks:
Kick That
No Cargo Metal
Gotta have This
Wrong Cross
- A mix CD in a class of it own, when I receive this CD I was a little bit reluctant to even play it best it is a mix CD by Gospel DJ. Okay until this CD I have not even heard of the Cat. I was totally blow away when I put the CD in because all my fears were destroyed by DJ Morphiziz skills on the turntable no wonder some website crown him as a turntablist. As I began to listen more closely all I can say is that DJ Morphiziz is up there with all the greats of hip hop world. I mean I putting him up there next to DJ Funk Master Flex. Do you know?
The CD has 25 tracks on it but it is clearly set out the first 14 fully loaded and from track 15 to 25 is a mixture of acappella and instrumental. Fall you DJ who are for material for that perfect easy mix this is the answer. Even if you are on the radio there are a few things you can drop on your show nicely. There is more because you can also pick up Best of Submission Vol.1 and Vol.2 from you local stockist. Okay so who is feature on this mix CD the list reads like this: - Redcloud, Soul P & Sharp Skills, Applejaxx, Cash Hollistah, Probly Pablo, Sean Slaughter, Godsent, DJ Pure, Bless Son, Focus and much more. There is even an advertisement on the CD encouraging headz to summit their tracks so they can be considered for Best of Submission volume 4 due for release in 2007. Okay it not often I hear a Holy Hip Hop album that I just keep on repeat but this is one of them. As a team we all have our favourite tracks but mine is track 2 titled Kick that. What will your favourite track? I wonder. This album gets the dancity team top mark

5 comments about All Mixed Up.
- i kind of got into the music. it was different and something to listen to when i got tired of listening to anything else. i have Gang Affilitated and I Can See Clearly Now and DJ Doves first (if not only) release. I do have one concern about this cd and thats the hidden song after Testimony. you have to wait maybe 30 seconds of silence before you hear it. it makes no sense and makes you wonder WHO was behind the making of this cd. if you havent heard it check it out.
- The album is a hot mess. Maybe others can get down with it but not me. I have been a fan for a long time, I have this original GG Tape...4 real.. Now that was a good album. I bought this cd because I wanted to listen to this album, but I no longer have a tape player. This album must be some type of remix or something. The song titles are the same as the tape I own, but everything else changed. I am extremely dissapointed in the production. The beats are horrible. This is not a typical GG album, I have 3 or 4 of them, and they all sound a heaven of a lot better than this one. This album is way out of their character. KMG or whoever you are, I suggest you getting some feedback from the OGG audience before selling nonsense like this.
If you need help with production, holla at me.
God Bless, Gospel Gangstaz, keep doing your thing. Get at me!!
Let's let the world know who the one and only true and living God is.
- This album is just awful. Every remix is far worse than the original, and they cut a lot of the most powerful lyrics. When I first listened to it, I was surprised the double G's would put out an album this bad.
Turns out, they didn't. KMG made the remixes from the original recordings without any involvement from the artists themselves.
Don't buy this album.
- OK...I'm gonna keep this as short and sweet as possible. NO...this is NOT a real GG'z album, NO...the GG'z did NOT sanction or endorse this supposed remix album, and NO...it's not vintage GG material. So unless you're a completist or a collector of GG'z music...DON'T BUY IT. The hatchet job that KMG Records did on the GG'z classics is worse than what's been done to 2Pac's posthumous recordings since his passing. A HOTTT, BOILING MESS...and I'm surprised that the GG'z didn't take legal action or at least speak out against the release of this album...but oh well, KMG probably DID own the masters after all, right? GARBAGE,GARBAGE,GARBAGE...this album will have you hollerin' 'ELOI,ELOI LAMASABACHTHANI' if you're not careful. Support the REAL GG releases(Gang Affiliated,Do Or Die,I Can See...,Exodus) all you want, but when it comes to All Mixed Up...SAVE YOUR MONEY, cause the GG'z and Jesus had NOTHING to do with this remix album. TERRIBLE.
- The gospel gangstaz have said that they don't endorse the All Mixed Up album and that it was not their effort but solely KMG records, who took their old songs from the first two albums (KMG still has rights) and remixed them. It lacks the funky west coast style that is gospel gangstaz.
1.Do Or Die - INDREDIBLE bass, but sounds too much like rock. Too much playing of music. 2.CMC's Meet OGG's - not bad, but the original was smoother. 3.Gospel Gangsta Voyage - they cut out Mr.Solo's entire verse (which was one of the key features of the song) and then prolonged the chotus to make up for it. disgusting. 4.Y Cain't The Homiez Hear Me - Very Good Concept but the TWO originals are better. 5.Gospel Gangsta Thang - This was one of the Gangstaz best songs but KMG removed too much of the rap from it (almost all), leaving it with too much intervals of just music playing, where lyrics should be. had they put back the lyrics it would have been perfect, west coast vibe and all. 6.Mobbin' - interesting concept but they cut out half of Solo's verse and the original is just better. 7.Tears Of A Black Man - Not bad but the Original was simply 100% better. 8.Testimony - They took out ALL of the rap from the song and left only the chorus. HELLO!, were is the testimony if the guys don't rap and tell you about how they came to Christ. This song therefore has no meaning whatsoever and it is hurtfull because the original was soooo strong on message. 9.Before Redemption - The original did not have a chorus because the song was long enough but KMG decided to put a chorus (just music playing),which made the song about NINE minutes long,HELLO!,and without the OGG Intro after it (like on the first album), it has no positive meaning. 10.The Holy Terra - The original was just better 11.White On the Moon - The hidden song, sounds confussing but definately negative.
