5 comments about Glory Revealed: The Word of God in Worship.

  1. To me, these sound like modern hymns. These songs are a breath of fresh air and a welcomed break from the over-produced mass of contemporary Christian music. Great songs taken right from scripture! Give it it a download. You won't be disappointed.

  2. The more I listen to this cd, the more I like it. I feel like it's the word of God being absorbed into my spirit- and the effect is indescribable.

  3. I bought this CD when my friend/worship leader fell in love with it. I really like the scripture songs, but the folksy music was hard to get past. Beyond the well-known voices, it reminds me vaguely of the early 90's scripture memory albums from Hosana Integrity music.

Best song: Glory Revealed by Candi Pearson-Shelton. Still giving this album a chance, I think I'll like it if we sing these songs in church - minus the bluegrass twang.

  4. We saw the Glory Revealed tour when it came to our church. I'm not typically a blue grass fan--I like Third Day, etc. And sometimes music live is enjoyable when the cd is not. But this cd has hardly left my player since I bought it. Very uplifting, engaging music, and the words are Scripture. Can't beat that.

  5. I would say its a close race between this cd and Shane & Shane's newest album "Pages" for worship album of the year. This cd has been a huge ministry to both me and my family as we've been through a few trying circumstaces this year. The concert for this cd was nothing short of uplifting and amazing and I was blessed to be there. Song favorites are, "Waters gone by", "To the only God", "Who is like you", and "You alone". Great cd if you like stripped down acoustic worship!

  1. Remedy Drive's "Daylight Is Coming" is a breath of fresh air in the Christian Rock genre. Remedy Drive is made up of four members, all brothers, and they have a sound that reminds me of a cross between Relient K, Switchfoot, The Fray, and Robbie Seay Band. According to the band, they sound like U2, Coldplay, Muse, Switchfoot, Jimmy Eat World, and Keane. I can hear those influences in their music, though I think my comparisons are more accurate. Remedy Drive have great, positive messages in their songs, and they should appeal to both Christians and non-Christians alike. The songs are also catchy and would sound great live in an arena, but my only complaint is some of the songs sound too similar and the album is only 35 minutes long. But for a debut album, I consider this to be a 4 1/2 and can't wait to hear more from these guys. And Amazon has them for a great price, so go order NOW!

  2. Remedy Drive, the new alternative rock band from Lincoln, Nebraska caught my ear right away with the Brit-Rock hook of the debut single Daylight. The 4 Zach brothers have a sound that reminds me of Blue October, Jackson Waters, Grey Holiday and NEEDTOBREATHE (all favorites of mine). Dove Award winning producer Ian Eskelin of the band All Star United has produced a very accessible new alternative rock album similar to his own band's excellent debut from 1997 .

Daylight Is Coming kicks off with the solid anthem Stand Up, with the piano-driven rock-style that Coldplay has made famous. All Along is another standout track along with Hope and the excellent closing song Valuable. This is an album that you can enjoy over and over again. If you enjoy good rock hooks and solid lyrics, then you'll enjoy Remedy Drive.

  1. The Cedarmont Worship CDs for children are wonderful. I use them with my children's choir at church and the children love the songs and the congregation loves hearing them sing the songs as well. I have all of the Cedarmont CDs and recommend them highly!

3 comments about Songs Kids Love to Sing: Toddler Songs.

  1. The first problem with this cd is the singing, it tends to be very monotonous. It sounds like the same little girl's voice on all songs. Then after we played it a few times, the layer of vocals was erased! Now, we just have the instrumental version of the songs. Very strange, this has never happened to me before. I guess the monotonous voice problem is solved...

  2. We are very pleased with 25 Toddler Songs, our second purchase in the Songs Kids Love to Sing series. The songs are performed by other children, which seems to delight my toddler and, as an added bonus, it soothes his tantrums. He enjoys dancing to the upbeat tunes. Some of the songs are short, but then again, so is a toddler's attention span.

  3. I bought this CD for my son when he was 6 months old. He and I both LOVE it. The songs are familiar tunes that we all grew up with, reasonably well-performed by kids. Many of the songs have a definite beat, something which my son really appreciates. We've "danced" to this CD nearly every day for the past 2 or 3 months. Now, he starts "bopping" to the music as soon as I hit the "play" button. I highly recommend "Toddler Songs" for your baby or toddler as a fun CD that you can both share and enjoy together.

5 comments about All Right Here.

  1. This CD has some thought provoking songs for someone in recovery, trying to think through and answer some of the hard questions of life. One song talks about love empowering us so much that we can fly or at least be willing to try.

  2. Sara Groves just keeps putting out great albums with great music. Very inspiring lyrics with great music and vocals. I really like the title track and the song "You Cannot Lose My Love." A must for all Sara Groves fans or just fans of great music.

  3. Sometimes I may hear an item by an artist and get excited, and then hear a second and wonder what the excitement was about. I've had that experience lately. This is the second project I've heard by Sara Groves, "The Other Side Of Something" being the first. Sara Groves is not an example of what I described above.

I enjoy Groves' style. She wrote most of the songs on the project, with the exception of "You Did That For Me" (written by Jonell Moser, who I heard of for years in Nashville but never heard personally) and Pierce Pettiz) and "Jesus, You're Beautiful". But better than the music is her lyrics. They are clearly Christian. Too many Christian projects seem to be for the purpose of being a clean alternative to secular music, and there's nothing wrong with that but I want more. Groves' songs are "more".

Maybe it would be easier to tell you my least favorite songs on this project than my favorites, and there is not a bad cut on the project. But my favorites are "Less Like Scars", "Every Minute", "Just One More Thing" (I relate to that tune), "Remember Surrender", "Maybe There's A Loving God", "Tornado", "First Sung That I Sing", and "You Cannot Lose My Love".

  4. My first introduction to Sarah Groves was at a Jars of Clay concert. I bought this first cd because I thought she was wonderful in concert. Very genuine and her songs were very touching and sweet. Haven't heard the others but I can't imagine I could enjoy them any more than this. If you have difficulty finding a spiritual component to each and every song... well I don't know what to say. Sometimes we speak loudest of Gods love by just telling our stories. As a believer, married for close to 30 years, mom of two grown kids...just about everything hit home. Thank you Sarah :-)

  5. Every Sara Groves cd is outstanding, but this one rivals Conversations as the best. The title track is one of my favorite songs of all time in any genre. Sara's lyrics are outstanding, and I could swear she's talking about me most of the time. She's honest, she doesn't sugar-coat her faith and struggles, but also lets her peace shine through in the midst of it all.

In addition to "All Right Here," other standout songs on this cd include "Less Like Scars", "Every Minute", "Jesus, You're Beautiful", and "First Song that I Sing", although "First Song" does drag on a bit longer than necessary. In a way, it's pointless to mention the standout songs, because they're all great.

Sara Groves is a great talent.

4 comments about Kneel at the Cross.

  1. It is a long-standing tradition in country music to get big stars to do gospel favorites and classic hymns. The results can often be quite mediocre (uninspired, overly sentimental, sloppy musical arrangements, etc.) or quite good (as with Johnny Cash). Happily, I would mostly put this collection in the latter category. This is largely a better version of the 2004 release, 'Amazing Grace, vol. 3' (also by Sparrow Records), which included six of the songs found on this collection:

'Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus - Cyndi Thomson
Softly And Tenderly - Josh Turner
It Is No Secret - Dierks Bentley
I Need Thee Every Hour - Jamie O'Neal
Victory In Jesus - Trace Adkins
Just A Closer Walk With Thee - Joe Nichols

These are largely the better tracks from the prior album, with Cyndi Thomson's rendition of "'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus" being the stand-out track in my opinion. The added tracks in this new collection are fantastic, including Lee Ann Womack at her finest in "Get Up in Jesus' Name" and a lovely, respectful version of "Amazing Grace" by Lari White. The arrangements on all the tracks are well-thought and the singing is sincere. My only disappointment is the leading track, "But For the Grace of God," by Keith Urban, which is a fine song but doesn't quite belong with the other, more traditional, songs.

  2. This is a neat little compilation.
However, I'm not sure the tracks aren't better in context of the individual artists albums.

  3. This was a perfect gift for my husband, however I think I have listened to it more!

  4. This CD has good songs but some of the performances are not up to par. It is not one I will listen to very often.

5 comments about Steven Curtis Chapman: Greatest Hits.

  1. My review is long overdue. This is one of my favorite CD's - and if you look at the back of my CD, it shows! What a talented song-writer and performer. The CD is packed with a great mix of some of his finest songs. Don't limit yourself to this CD alone - every project of his is worth adding to your collection. Praise God for his inspirational music that spans the generations. Enjoy!

  2. Great Cd! Love his music and his message. I plsy him alot snd he is very comforting and inspirational as well as hip and upbeat. If you have never listened to him, this is the one to start with.

  3. One of, if not THE, greatest CD that Chapman has ever compiled. There aren't any words for his songs. They hit "home" in ways indescribable. "Not Home Yet" will forever be my favorite SCC song; I based my entire high school valedictorian speech on it. By far one of my favorite CD's that I own. I'd recommend it to absolutely anybody.

  4. I really like Steven Curtis Chapman's songs. The music is very good guitar-driven rhythms and the lyrics are great. This Greatest Hits cd captures the best songs from the first half of his career (First Hand to Signs of Life). I wish it would have included "Let Us Pray" and "I Will Not Go Quietly", but other than that I found it to be a wonderful way to hear a lot of his songs. This CD is a great place to start you SCC collection; I'm sure Greatest Hits 2 is in the working to gather songs from his latest cds (Speechless, Declaration, All About Love, and All Things New). Now go out and get it! (I would have given it 4.5 stars but amazon does not allow that yet!)

  5. This collection contains some of the strongest songs of Steven Curtis Chapman's early career, and serves as a launching pad for all the albums to come. He has grown in strength and confidence over the years, and this album singles out those tracks that have captured him at his peak through each stage.

Two brand new tracks, Not Home Yet and I Am Found In You, give us a glimpse of the Steven Curtis Chapman to come - a much more audibly passionate and uninhibited artist than when he first started out. New versions of Lord of the Dance and The Walk (recorded at Abbey Road Studios) start to capture some of the energy found in Chapman's live performances.

With so many excellent songs to choose from, it must have been difficult to narrow it down to these 14 tracks. You may be surprised at some of the songs that are missing, but you definitely won't be disappointed with any of the ones that made the cut.

  1. Great DVD! My whole family loves watching all of the Hillsong DVD's together. The music CD's are always fantastic and to watch them performing on the DVD really adds another dimension to the Hillsong experience. The only way it could get any better would be to go to Australia and watch it live.

  2. It's not necessary to be there to feel what the people there felt.
    God inspired music.

  3. Always awesome and inspiring. I love everything Hillsong and they've done it again with their newest praise and worship CD, Savior King. In Your Freedom and I Am Not Ashamed are my two favorites on this CD.

  4. excelente producto, llevo algun tiempo comprando en amzon...el dvd esta genial, puedes sentir la presencia de Dios al ver al los muchachos de hillsong adorando..lo recomiendo...si estas en latinoamerica..compra por amazon...

  5. This DVD is a nice companion to the Savior King album, just in a different arrangement then the CD. There aren't many bonus features on the DVD, probably because this album was recorded a little bit later than normal and they were pressed for time but it is still good. Darlene doesn't look as pale on this album as she did on Mighty To Save. The filming style is cutting edge but it didn't seem as jerky to me as past recordings. One or two of the songs is filmed half in black and white. The sounded is decoded two ways. basic and DTS surround sound. No Dolby Digital Surround but that's okay with me since DTS is far superior. Again, this is a great companion to the CD.

5 comments about This Is an Outrage!.

  1. Looking at reviews for this album, I noticed several similarities between them. Not only were they overwhelming positive, but there were comparisons to Anberlin and Relient K, and it was definitely my style of music. So I had to check out this album. And let me say, that folks, the critics are overwhelmingly right on this one. No ifs, ands, or buts, just wows and whoas. This is the next big thing and they certainly have the debut to show for it.

In describing the sound of this band, it would be accurate to say they're a cross of the best elements of Anberlin and Relient K, with a little bit of Metro Station mixed in for extra fun, with hints of Yellowcard. It's pop rock at some of its best. And even though these songs aren't exactly catchy by themselves, you'll remember the general feel of the song, and pick up the chorus after you hear the album a few times.

Picking a favorite track off this album is rather hard to do, because you could basically come to any point in the record and say, "that's an awesome track." But that isn't exactly the best of news for DJ's, which need single material, and none of these songs really stand out as singles that could rock radio out all summer long. So I can see it hard to grow a fan base for this band unless somebody picks up the record, or probably sees them in concert.

This album is all about rock melodies, and they are plenty to be had. The music very pleasing, very rockin', and embodies emotions and feelings. They do sound like something that Yellowcard, The Starting Line or Boys Like Girls would do, but haven't done, which strangely gives this an almost original feel. Maybe it's because these sounds have never sounded this good combined before.

Vocally, all of it is perfect for the songs and the band. It helps give the band their trademark sound. And while I would like a little bit more vocal variety, it all seems to work, just like the rest of the album. But wait, it does change a bit vocally on the electronic/synth extravaganza that is "Mile Away." That song also provides very pleasing lyrics like the rest of the album. And while nothing really seems to stand out one-on-one, it all stands as one and does provide glimpses of really great lyrics, although what is here isn't anything to sneeze at either. Again, it all works.

Overall, while no track exactly stands out, all of them mesh into a cohesive and amazing record. A truly wondrous debut not matched in ages, if ever. It's certainly one of the best albums of the year in any genre, Christian or Mainstream. It all flows, it all rocks, it's fun, it's well-done, well-written and just plain amazing. One thing is for sure, Capital Lights will have a truly wonderful journey ahead of them, and I can't wait to see what they'll throw at us next.

  2. While Billboard charts are filled with the likes of Jay-Z wannabes (Lil Wayne), American Idol retreads (Carrie Underwood), Flavors of the Week (Jonas Brothers), and old rockers trying to relive their glory days (The Eagles) there comes a point in time when mainstream music goes through what seems like an endless lull of musical mediocrity before someone or something steps in to crash the party. Everybody knows about Beatlemania leading the British Invasion of music in the 60s. Led Zeppelin IV Zoso cemented Led Zeppelin's status as one of the most influential rock bands ever. The Sex Pistols' crude, yet, resonating response to disco, progressive rock, and manufactured pop music characterized as "increasingly safe and bloated" during the late 70s to early 80s was warranted. Kurt Cobain and Company finally ended what seems like the perpetual dominance of Michael Jackson along with sounding the death knell of metal hair bands and 80s rock (Poison, Motley Crue, Van Halen, Foreigner, Journey) by changing the musical landscape with 1991's Nevermind. The question is: Who will now carry the torch? That answer my friend may be the impressive debut of Capital Lights new album "This is an Outrage!"

With renown producer Aaron Sprinkle (anberlin, The Almost, Beth Orton, Deftones, MxPx) at the helm, "This is an Outrage" manages to execute a dynamic blend of aggressive guitars and insightful lyrical drama with pop sensibilities.

The sonic assault of "Outrage", "Worth as Much" and "Out of Control" effectively complements the tenderness of "Mile Away" and good time feelings of "Kick It Off", "Remember the Day" and "Miracle Man" in which ultimately, yields an overachieving masterpiece. Now the question becomes: Will Capital Lights "carry the torch" and rejuvenate the doldrums of Top 40 lists dominating music today?

  3. This album is flawless from the first song, title track "outrage" to the last song "Frank Morris." With its catchy hooks and amazing vocals this band could really make it big. "Remember the day" is my favorite but I can honestly say i wouldnt skip one song on the bands Debut CD. I plan on hearing big things about these guys in the future.

  4. There are few and far bands that have the potential to change where the music industry will go. Capital Lights may not know it yet, but they are setting a new standard for our generation. Having seen this band grow along its way to becoming who and what they are to audiences now is enough reason to enjoy their music. Their personalities truly reflect their music: Catchy, inspiring, and fun to dance with. The lyrical ability reminisces renaissance narration, the guitars explode with licks that will leave you thirsty, and the beat could go on forever and I'd still listen to it. The only thing that is an outrage is that Capital Lights is just now being discovered by the music nation.

  5. So I am a big fan of other Tooth and Nail bands such as Emery, Anberlin, and The Classic Crime. So I was looking through other bands under this label and I cam across Capital Lights. I saw they were coming out with the first album, and since I am a sucker for new music I had to check it out. I was amazed that this was the debut album by these guys. Most debut albums are a little rough around the edges, but this one was the rare exception. To be real, though it may not be perfect, I feel that for a first album this by far deserves 5 stars. I am looking forward already to this groups next album. If you like groups like The Classic Crime and so on, get this one. You will not be disappointed.

  1. Awesome display of Gospel telent. Every song moves you and every theme is relevant to our walk with Christ. Just a great listen.

If you could send me a contact number to issue a request for a refund, contact me @ (903)253-5245 at your earliest convenience. Thank you...

  3. This CD is off the chain,... AMAZING vocals, the runs just give me chills. He is a very down-to-earth person with a wonderful gift of music from the Lord. His transparency in sharing of himself in his music is very unique,.. very hip hop friendly and at the same time there are songs for the simple, gospel folks. 73 degrees gives me chills - a gospel jazz accompaniment that is phenomenal. Know Him with the fantastic Karen Clark-Sheard,... whew they just blow at the end. My goodness! Dance with Kirk Franklin,... all the songs to get you moving in body and spirit. This is a MUST HAVE if you are into contemporary gospel that speaks to the real life situations.

  4. I seen some previous reviews, and all I can say is all that matters is the message. I really wish that we all could look past the outer and look at the enter. His message about the struggles of life and surrendering of ones self to God is the only thing we should really be thinking about. I have always been a fan and I prefer his more slower tempo songs, which are mainly worship music. He is a person that I can turn on his CD and I dont have to jump to certain songs. When it's time to praise, I praise, and when it's time to worship I'm ready. I thank God for MEN like him who do whatever it takes to let people know that GOD is the only way, and he gives you inspiration to keep going no matter what's going on around you.

  5. I absolutely love JMoss but this album isn't what i'm used to hearing. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed. I will continue listening to V1.
