  1. This CD will truly resonate with your spirit. The love of God comes through. Can't help but love it!

  2. This albulm is definitely worth buying. I listened to several of their songs online and that's how I familiarized myself with their unique sound.
It's mellow, and it's just plain refreshing to listen to.

  3. I have always liked the Winans, and its nice to see the third generation following in their footsteps. Even though the CD was a good debut album, it did sound too studio. To me, Marvin Jr. and Juan have the best voices. This album has a R&B vibe to it that starts with them rapping about themselves. Some of the songs that I did like the most were:
    I'm a Winans Too-8/10
    Let Him In-9/10
    Always For You-8/10
    Just For a Day-8/10
    Too Much Heaven-9/10
Thank You Lord-10/10 (the best song on the album)
This is the only album Phase 2 did. I really wished they released more albums; they did have potential and their career surely did not last as long as their fathers. I'm sure they're doing other things. Anyways this was a good album and enjoyable to listen to.

  4. I guess the people who reviewed this album are easily impressed. This album was a good album, at least by gospel music standards, but it wasn't a banger to me.

Some of the tracks are just generic R&B to me, like on "It's Alright/Send Me" (sorry folks, I just think the song is kind of boring, but the words really minister to me), and also on "Come On Over", though I like the "Awww" sample in the said track because it sounds like the old Winans. And while I'm on the weaker tracks, what's up with "I'm A Winans Too". If that "hip-hop" track was made in '94, it probably would have been a crossover hit, but this is the "milleniera" people! They gotta step there rhymes & flows up or just stick to singing because that song is W-A-C-K, wack! They should hire Tonex to remix that song for their next LP. I also wasn't impressed with "Thank You Lord", "Real Love", and "Just For A Day". And "Always For You" sounds like it was written by Uncle Bebe. It sounded ok.

Now to the highlights of the album. I love the groove of "Who Do You Love". That track was worthy of my repeat button. Another replayable track is "Everyday Away", nice ballad, nice groove, decent background vocals, good song. But the standout tracks to me are my two favorites, "Two Much Heaven" (this one is a default because it is just a remake of a song sung by one of my favorite groups of all time, The Bee Gees), and "Let Him In". They really hooked me with the latter. That "le-le-le-let-him-in" part in that song is a great hook. I had my repeat button locked on this song and replayed it at least 15-20 times so that I could memorize the words, I kid you not! I just wish that the whole album didn't rely on the "General R&B" thing.

When their fathers came out in the early eighties, they didn't sound like anybody before them, they were original. The Winans were way ahead of their time, and the way they wrote songs like "Question Is", and "Millions", was just phenomenal. Winans Phase 2 should take a page from that old Winans storybook, and be original. Not to come out sounding like just another R&B group.

  5. The entire CD is wonderful from start to finish. I rarely listen to anything else now. The CD goes from smooth to upbeat, from old to new. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying this CD.

  1. I cannot say enough good things about this album. I've owned this for years, and was checking to see if David Meece's new album I heard he was working on was out yet. Apparently it isn't, but felt compelled to share how absolutely wonderful this album is. I like almost all of David Meece's work, but this album is his best work yet. It brought tears to me, it was so inspirational both lyrically and musically. It's one of those albums you have to stop what you're doing and just sit and concentrate fully on it. Truly amazing!!!

  2. The arrival of a long awaited album from David Meece is like a cool rain after a long hot summer. Thats just what Meece's new album: "There I Go Again" delivers. Refreshing and very original, (unlike many of his Christain comtempory singers) David is not afraid to admit his weaknesses and the sins he struggles with.
Ever since songs like: "Falling Down" David Meece had shown an attitude of true humility and honesty we Christains must face in dealing with our own sins. "He who confesses his sins, and renounces them finds mercy" (Psalms).

Of his new album David lays it all out on the line with songs like track #1: "There Is No Other Hope" (you can accept Jesus Christ or you can reject Him, but there is no ther hope for us if we reject Him!!). Other songs like track #4 are a beautiful expression of the Fathers love towards us. The title track: "There I go Again" is consistant with Meece's confession/struggle with habitual sins that plague him. Track #2 :Dancing With The Enemy" was a good idea for a song, however it seems a little too generalised to pin down those inflitrated with satan's handiwork. My personal favorite on this album is track#6 "Things You Never Gave Me". David realises that there were certin things he desired but that the Lord refused for him to have knowing those things would be harmful to him either spiritually, phyically or both. David voices his own gratitude to the Lord for sparing him of "The Things He Never Gave Him" (Father knows best!)

Meece's new album is a shoe in for those of us who have enjoyed his music ministry all along. I encourage younger believers to give it a listen, now that they "have tasted that the Lord is good". Buy this album and you may well yet realise how fragile our walk with The Lord can truly be. By the way, the music is incredibly well done! Superb production!

  3. I had waited for this one a long, long time. I became a David Meece fan during the mid-80s when I first heard the song "You Can Go" on the radio, featuring wonderful piece from Bach's 2-part invention as an intro. That song can be found on the CD, 7, but right now it is hopelessly out of print.

THERE I GO AGAIN is not much to look at at first glance. The side features a very unattractive rainbow color. The photos show David wearing what appears to be leather shirts and pants (except for the front photo), and surely they must be the goofiest-looking photos ever taken of a musician.

One last complaint: Track #2. "Dancing With the Enemy is, without a doubt, the cheesiest song he has recorded in over 20 years. It even makes Carman sound hip!

So, why in the world would I still give this CD 5 stars? It is because this CD has music and lyrics that speak more to the Christian in the areas of standing against temptations and habitual sins than any other Christian music I have ever heard. Michael Card, Rich Mullins, Newsboys -- I love these guys to death, but they (and probably no one else) haven't tackled the subject of standing up under temptation like David Meece has in THERE I GO AGAIN.

This CD is basically I Corinthians 10:13 put to music.

Look at these lyrics for "There I Go Again":

There I go again stumbling into the same old sin
There I go again instead of clinging to You
I do what I know not to do
Oh, help me Lord - there I go again

I keep rejecting the truth -
    Refusing reproof
    Repaying the dues
    Of my reckless youth
While You died just to prove
    All the promises true
To the ones who need You
As much as I need You

All of the songs on here (with the possible exception of one or two) deal with overcoming sins and temptations and clinging to the Lord. In fact, Track #4, "I'll Be Waiting For You" talks about the Father waiting for His child and longing to be in fellowship with His child (even when His child has other plans).

This CD was released in 2002. The last album before that was ODYSSEY in 1995. I hope he doesn't wait another 7 years before his next release. And I hope it's as at least as good as this one.

  4. All I can say is "Wow"! David's newest recording, "There I Go Again" is charged with a dynamism that's so God! Each song has a story to tell and a message of hope and love! I have been listening to David for about two decades and this CD continues a long standing tradition of excellence in music recording! This CD will musically grab you from beginning to end! David's range is impressive with diverse musical arrangements and lyrical versatility. The first two tracts, "No Other Hope" and "Dancing with the Enemy" establishes from the outset that this CD will comfort and inspire as well as caution and admonish. The riveting and upbeat tract "Run" is lyrically as well as musically powerful with an apocalyptic flavor! The tract, "The Things You Never Gave Me" reminds us to thank God for all those prayers that went unanswered! When I listened to this song for the first time, I began to recall periods in my life that I too am thankful to God for "the things you never gave me!" And "Raise These Arms" is destined to be a classic, challenging the Church in the 21st Century to be "reapers of the harvest"! The most powerful aspect of this recording is David's giftedness in relating and connecting with his listening audience! The music will make your spirit soar! The words will touch your heart! David is truly a lyrical miracle! People of all age groups will love this CD! I just hope David does not wait another 8 years before he records another CD! I liked the CD so much that I booked David Meece for a concert! If you're in the area, come see David in Concert at First United Methodist Church in Roanoke Rapids, NC on July 27, 2003 either at 11:00 AM or at 7:00 PM.

  5. . . . who has not lost "it" in over twenty years of songwriting! Though his signature high notes don't come as often as they used to, when they do, they are still strong. Though his music has evolved a bit with the times, it is still unquestionably the Meece sound that his fans know and love: mature pop, touching ballads, driving keyboard faintly tinged with rock. "No Other Hope" proves the resiliency of Mr. Meece's vocals; "The Things You Never Gave Me" is testament to his creative songwriting; "I'll be Waiting for You" lilts with the pleasant energy that permeates every Meece offering; "Dancing with the Enemy" shouts loud and clear but with humor that he will never water down his message. Perhaps the brightest star of this recording, however, especially for us twenty-year fans, is the bonus track: a live, piano-only version of the classic "We Are the Reason." The musical genius, passion, and uncompromising lyrics are as alive and well here as they were for 1981's _Count the Cost_. I'm so grateful for the return of David Meece!

  1. The cd was easy to listen to and had some enjoyable songs on it. This is a good cd to listen to when you are meditating and not busy.

  2. JOE PACE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE GOSPEL SINGERS IN THE WORLD. I FIRST JOE PACE ON THE RADIO AND I KNEW THAT HE WAS ANOINTED BY GOD. THIS ALBUM JUST PROVES THAT ONE THING. THEY WAY THAT HE COMES UP WITH SONGS AND THE MUSIC IS AWESOME. THIS ALBUM IS A MUST HAVE. YOU WILL BE BLESS BY THIS ALBUM. EVERY SONG IS FILL WITH THE HOLY SPRIT. THERE IS NO SONGS ON THAT I DONT LIKE. THIS CD IS A MUST HAVE. JOE PACE IS OFF THE CHAIN AND SO IS THIS ALBUM

  3. I absolutely love this CD- it is a great addition to my ever growing collection of Gospel!

  4. Saints and Friends, I didn't like this CD. I felt the compilations are cookie-cutter sounds that today's worship/crossover' artists strive to obtain. This CD is not memorable unless you're playing it over and over and over and...you get the picture. I've been a fan of Min Pace since the beginning and it's taken this long to find a project I don't like. Can't wait for the next CD. May the Lord bless all who hear this CD.

  5. This is a really good CD. I enjoyed listening to it in my car. That's unusual, because I don't do many choir CD's. You know I do the usual suspects, LFCC, Ricky Dillard and New G, etc. I usually don't do artists who are mostly or solely traditional, but I found this CD to be excellent quality. I wouldn't put it up there with New G, LFCC, or Tri-City as it relates to vocals, but the material is top notch. I bought this CD doubting whether I would like it or not, but I ended up enjoying it. Joe Pace does a marvelous job capturing some of the essence of Sunday morning service on CD. He gives us something for all parts of the Sunday morning experience. This was nicely done and is an excellent edition to my collection of music, which does not include much choir stuff.

  1. Holy Ground is a true classic. I truly like about 4 songs on this CD, you may like more. This CD has long been out of print so if you can get your hand on one, I'll advise you to do it. I have a pretty hefty Hosanna collection myself - once they are gone - they are gone.

Geron Davis is a great worship leader and you will surely enjoy how he leads worship on this CD. This is a must have CD.

  1. PLEASE LISTEN TO # 8 - "SOMETHING WAS MISSING" IT BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES

  2. All of Anointed's albums are quite good, but this one is the best of the bunch. There's a diversity of musical styles here which all lead the listener back to the goodness of God.

"Anything Is Possible," an upbeat song with a deep message of faith and holding on, ministered to me personally at an extremely difficult point in my life. When I found out it was Anointed that recorded it, I bought the CD on the strength of that song alone. Imagine my pleasant surprise when I realized that ALL of the songs are powerful!

This is a great addition to any spiritual or mainstream collection.

  3. This is an awesome cd. It features soul inspired, heartfelt lyrics with music that you just can't sit still to! If you ever have a "down" day all you have to do is listen and you will be dancing and praising the Lord all over the place! My favorite is the first single, "Revive Us" but they are all awesome songs. Annointed is truly gifted with song as are the songwriters. A must have for every contemporary Christian collection - whether you are young or old! You will be blessed if you buy this cd.

  4. I first heard this racing towards Honolulu with a very special friend of mine while on the way to the airport to fly home. Although I do not usually listen to Christian music, this CD touched my heart and soul with it's powerful message and masterful arrangements. A "must have" in my opinion. It's going on my wish list right now. You don't have to be a Christian to enjoy this CD.

  5. I already submitted a review about their new album but I changed my mind about the love songs on the CD. If we as Christians can't write or listen to songs about our own Christian relationships, then who can we listen to? Certainly not the world with their idea of love. Anointed really is "Anointed" by God!!!

  5. This CD should be a MUST HAVE for all Christians. It's AMAZING!

5 comments about Biblical Graffiti.

  1. Re-writing lyrics to other peoples songs in one thing.
Re-writing them and making a living off of them, in the name of Jesus is pretty much blasphemy.
I'm turning the other cheek, but the original cheek won't pay a dime for this theft.

  2. 'Biblical Graffiti' is a great album by Apologetix.

For those who are unfamiliar with them, this group parodies songs in popular music from various genres and does it with Christian lyrics. The songs generally have Scriptural references for the listener to review. Oftentimes they sound very much like the original except the words.

This particular CD features performances based on recordings done originally by a wide variety of artists including Bachman Turner Overdrive, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Hollies, ZZ Top, Queen, Matchbox 20, and Smash Mouth.

Many of the recordings on this bear an amazing resemblance to the originals, except for the words. Some of my favorites on this album include songs based on the following: 'One Week' by Barenaked Ladies, 'Twist And Shout' by The Beatles, 'Every Breath You Take' by The Police, and 'Summer of 69' by Bryan Adams.

The lyricist and lead singer, J. Jackson, has an amazing ability to fit Christian lyrics to existing songs and then to perform them in a way that sounds very much like the originals. He does this in many genres.

I certainly recommend this CD and virtually anything by Apologetix.

  3. "Biblical Graffiti" is an excellent album, and one I would recommend.

ApologetiX has included many quality parodies, such as "Kick In The Wall", "Crazy Little King God Loves", and "Twins Came Out", just to name a few.

In my opinion, this is their best CD to date. Enjoy the music!

  4. This cd released in 1999 , is great and one of Apologetix's best it include parodys of mordern rock songs like,Dropping on the sun (parody of "walking on the sun" by Smashmouth) Fast paul (parody of "the way" by Fastball) Put you down in my will (parody of "push" by Matchbox 20) it also includes parody's of classic rock songs like, Twins came out (parody of "twist and shout" by the Beatles) Donky talked with him (parody of "honky tonk women" by the Rolling stones) Revelation man (parody of "secret agent man" by Jonny rivers) and, Jail got rocked (parody of "jailhouse rock" by Elvis Presly) other songs include,Enter samson (parody of "enter sandman" by Metalica) Smart blest man (parody of "sharp dressed man" by ZZ top) and, Bends to low places (parody of "freinds in low places" by Garth brooks) getthis cd if you like Apologetix or parodys

  5. the apologetix are a really great band to hear. their parodies sound just like the real songs but with better meanings. you cant help laughing when you hear their cute songs but when you listen to the words you get an even deeper understanding. their christian lyrics and popular beats make them a band you should definately look out for! buy this album a.s.a.p.
