1. I must admit, after listening through it once I only felt a few songs. Then after a few more times threw I couldn't believe how much my feelings had changed toward this CD. I'll go as far as say this is now one of my favorite CD's I own! I love how up beat the beginning is and how it fades into praise and worship. Great production value, wonderful lyrics, and very nice beats. This is a must buy! Let it grow on you!



2. I was glad I down loaded the mp3 of JR life by stereo. Anyone thats in the box really dont know how to digest good music when they hear it. I love the music and most of all its spiritual based, and instead of listening to john legend i can listen to JR. It's not to hard, and your actually focused on the lyrics instead of the music. I just wish it was live instead of the studio version. " GET OUT THE BOX PEOPLE, THIS ALBUM IS OFF THE CHAIN "



3. Young people you gotta get this one. You will be rocking, with the base pumping, hands lifted in worship cuz God is in this.



4. Today my friend and I were in the Christian Bookstore and someone who worked there recommended this cd and WOW!!! Can't say enough about it! When we left the store we popped it into the player in the car. This music is SO good, by the time we'd hit the second song we were turning around to go back to the store so my friend could buy one for herself!
   
   Rarely do I really LOVE a cd hearing it the first time through but this is sooo good--every song's a winner and they are really so different--and the message is great. JR has a real gift. I pray the Lord will use his music to win many for Him.
   
   This isn't just great Christian music. It's great music by any standard!



5. I, like most, was expecting a similar offering as the first project 'Metamorphasis', so I listened to other CD's I had for a while (not to hastily judge). I'm sooooo glad I did! Rarely does an artist offer such a diverse departure from his previous offering. If you like 'Not A Slave' video for this CD, you may experience shock with the mellow sounds of CD #1... or vice versa in my case. Both CD's are exceptional and totally different! This CD is not "easy beats" and you can't compatmentalize 'Life by Stereo' as something similar you heard before. I love all CMR product offerings and for JR not to be a rapper, but a musician is a pleasant diversifying factor. It blazes the trail (as CMR did for Christian rap) to cause other artists to step it up! I bought two of the last CD's for others and bought 1 of these as a gift to show there is a Christian altervative to secular R&B. If you appreciate all music in general -- Christian Rock, Rap, & R&B... this is a must own!!!

1. Course, I like Mercy Me a lot, so I may be bias. :-) Having heard this CD and listened to it many times I would buy it again.



2. The CD case was cracked when it arrived but no harm was done to the actual CD. The music of Mercyme is uplifting. I love it.



3. THIS CD IS BEAUTIFUL AND THOUGHT PROVOKING IN A GENTLE MANNER,
   DEFINATELY WORTH THE INVESTMENT.



4. I bought this CD for a particular song, which I often do. I was blown away!!! I love almost all of the songs on this cd.



5. MercyMe's best album, by a mile! This is the sound and style I like the best by them as I feel that they excel with that medium speed rock with southern vocals. The lyrics in this album are some of the best to come out in Christian music in awhile! Each song is great, so it's hard to point out my favorites (since I like them all). But I will say that I LOVE: Spoken For, Crazy, Word Of God Speak, and The Love of God. There is not one bad song on here and all speak of the glory of God and Jesus Christ. While they had success with "I Can Only Imagine," this album is a much more balanced album. I wish MercyMe would have stuck more with this style, but they are still one of the best acts in Christian music today. If you could only pick one MercyMe CD, though, this would definitely be the one to choose.

1. So, "Even Heroes..." was amazing, but I dare to say that "Perceptions" tops it. Unbelievable the depth of the lyrics and the range of the musicians. A must have for any lover of Christian rock. Simply put, I LOVE IT!!! and I think you will too!!!

1. This cd is by far the best of all of Switchfoot's cds. With amazing lyrics and gorgeous melodies, it's one that you'll never get tired of listening to. For those who have only recently jumped on the Switchfoot bandwagon, you'll recognize "Dare You to Move" on this cd, in it's original (and better) form. Every song on this cd has a great message, and is worth listening to over and over. Every fan should own this album.



2. My all time favorite cd from this band. It includes Switchfoot's biggest hit "Dare you to move". I liked this the first time I heard it, and it remains my favorite cd. This is a must for any Switchfoot fan.



3. Learning to Breathe is a very enjoyable album. It contains some very interesting and good music along with good vocals and positive lyrics.
   
   The words in this CD are definitely focused on the Creator of the Universe. Here are some examples of lyrics:
   
   Learning to Breathe - I'm finding that You and You alone can break my fall.
   
   You Already Take Me There - You meet me where I am, forgive me where I am.
   
   Love Is The Moment - Why God gave His life to put motion inside my soul. It's bigger than cold religion. It's bigger than life.
   
   There are really no bad songs in this collection. Two that are real standouts are Dare You To Move and Learning To Breathe.
   
   If you like Christian music, this is a good album to get. If you like Switchfoot, it is a must have. If you are not in either of the above categories, I'd recommend it anyway. It is a very creative effort and you will likely enjoy it.



4. "I Dare You to Move" first drew me to this band and so of course I had to check the other little music clips Amazon provides. Learning to Breathe is a little less polished then The Beautiful Letdown, but in a nice way. It actually works better for this album I think.
   Musically, Switchfoot has a very distinctive and gripping sound. Most of their lyrics avoid direct subject references that can turn some people off to secular music, and so this album stands on it's own because the music is just great.



5. I first listened to 'Dare You To Move' from the movie 'A Walk To Remember' and I was instantly wanting to know more about this band so I purchased their album 'The Beautiful Letdown' and since that first time of listening to that album I was hooked. This self professed christian trio have not let down fans with this their 3rd album but have cemented themselves as a must listen band in the soft-rock genre. The first 4 songs of this album is the reason I gave the album 4 stars in rating cause in my opinion the 4 songs are some of the best that Switchfoot have created. 'Learning To Breath' takes your breath away, it is intoxicating. Another great song is track 4 'Love Is the Movement' which sounds more anthem popish than rock. This is a less spiritual feel to the album than the first 2 Switchfoot album but there is a feeling of messages of hope for youth and those who are facing problems that seem to big. Another nice song is 'The Loser' which would not be out of place on one of those sappy teenage romance films in vogue at the moment. This album is for all christian band fans and soft rock genre fans in general.

1. I rented a car recently with satellite radio and heard this group. Did not know I was on a christian rock channel until DJ came on after the song and mentioned the band and song, Breath into me. I was like, wow. I had to come home and look them up on Amazon. For anyone, who likes rock just because it is rock, check out Red! If you enjoy a positive message too then even better!!



2. I stumbled accross this group on-line. I tell everyone who enjoys a bit harder Christian music to check them out. I love the way they mix acid rock with classical instramentation. Brilliant arrangements, fatastic words with exceptional vocals and musical accompaniment will take this group far (that is if they can continue to produce albums like this).



3. I enjoy the rock-ier side of Christian music, and this cd is really hot! Almost head banging music, with an orchestral backgrounds, it is different and diverse....should appeal to those Christian rockers who love intense lyrics and music to get you going!



4. The best part about this album is how they integrate symphony strings into the heavy rock. the guitar riffs are pretty simple, the vocals are good, a little "emo" every now and then, and lyrics can be repetitive in a few places. It's a dark album with a bright message.



5. Awesone CD, Awesome message! No need to listen to the crud on the radio. I still listen to it 6 months later!

1. Tamela Mann has the best voice god ever created.The live Ex. cd/dvd is incredible, every track is better than the next-it is hard to pick a favorite. If you dont know God just listen to her cd & watch her dvd you will. I cant wait for her next project(cd). Maybe she will bless us with a xmas cd this year. I bow to her anointing and beautiful gift of song that she willingly and joufully shares with the world. Whenever she performs i feel the prescence of the lord. I listen to lots of artists but Tam reigns tops for my husband & i. Her performance of "Step Aside" in What's Done in the dark we will be talking about for the next 50 yrs,unbelievable. Just when i think she can't amaze me or get any better she instantly takes it to another level. God bless her, & may we experience her talent & love for the lord for many years too come. She is a marvel& wonderful talent. To all of you that have never listened to Tam if you are going through give her a try and all will be right with your world, trust & believe. Mrs.Fondtella Baril



2. This is a wonderful CD/DVD combination. This is one of the greatest Concert performances I have ever experienced. This album will definately be a tough of to top.



3. in case you're not familiar with her, she is on the Madea videos. She has an awesome voice and you can tell she really loves the Lord.



4. Tamela is unbelievable...her singing is blessed and annointed...When you experience something like this, you know that every good and perfect gift comes from God. Oh God, what a blessing.
   
   PS...ask any of my friends...I don't like anything and I hardly feel moved to write reviews.
   
   But watching the DVD moved me. The songs are excellent. You see, the annointing is a gift. Not everyone has it. Not even many popular gospel artists. Tamela's got it. Thank God for his gifts to us.

1. This is a great CD. I highly recommend it. Selah took the great old hymns that we grew up on and beautifully modified them. This is a must have. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

5 comments about The John Michael Talbot Collection: A Library Of 35 Favorite Songs.

1. These cds are enjoyable musically and lyrically. The lyrics are not as poignant as some of his other works. However, each work does it's work in ministering. That is more important than being schohlarly.



2. Excellent CD would highly recommend it. The selection is great and the songs are beautiful. The record label picked a wide selection of great songs from his massive music collection. His voice is so calming and the music is wonderful. A great CD for the person who is just starting a collection of Christian music.

5. I actually bought this cd by chance. I was surfing on Amazon when I accidentally clicked on this album. I decided to listen to a few of the clips and immediately I knew I had to pick up this gem. Praise the Lord for music like this! In these times of cheesy commercialized songs, Talbot's music stands out with strong Biblical lyrics and haunting peaceful melodys. I just recently had surgery and during my recovery this album has brought me much comfort. I definitely recommend these 35 songs for your collection. Thank you.

1. There is such a variety on this CD, yet I Love each song in its own way. I am so impressed that Matt writes his own music, and it powerfully speaks to me, and honors the Lord. Everyone gets blessed!

4. Beautiful News is another great worship album by Matt Redman. The title track, Beautiful News, brings you right into the spirit of praise, and sets a good tone for the main theme of the album, which is spreading the gospel . . . the "Beautiful News" of God's love displayed in Jesus' sacrifice 4 us. Other favorite tracks are Take It To The Streets, All Over The World, Blessing, and my VERY favorite, Fearfully And Wonderfully Made. Matt Redman sings softly in Fearfully And Wonderfully Made, and at times his voice almost cracks with emotion, and the message is very powerful.



5. Beautiful News is a great praise album by Matt Redman. It is one that will not disappoint.
   
   Redman is not only a very gifted songwriter, he is also a great singer. This album is full of songs that are Scriptural and focused on praise. Redman, along with Chris Tomlin, is the cream of the crop in writing and singing praise and worship tunes.
   
   All of these songs are very good. Two of them are real standouts: 'You Never Let Go' which is based on Psalm 23 and 'Shine'. These are really 'must have' tracks on this album.
   
   Highly recommended.
