  1. Great CD. I listen to it every day. One of Randy Travis' best CD's.

  2. Wonderful CD from Randy Travis. He has a great way of singing the old hymns and making them new again.

  3. I really like Randy Travis is neat see Country Artist going the Christian way an seeing it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Randy Travis really knows how to do a gospel album. That's all there is to it.

Actually, this is the most modern gospel music that I have. I suppose it's not as grandiose as a lot of gospel albums by Nashville artists but I don't think that's a bad thing. I'm not up on contemporary gospel music but the arrangements of the old familiar ones on this are great.

I love that this album isn't as "polished" (as some of the reviews have said) as a lot of other country gospel albums. I wouldn't even say it's less polished, though. It's much less egotistical than most; one gets the impression that Travis was more about the songs than about trying to make it all about himself and how-original-can-I-be? The arrangements are clean and straightforward (there's a great guitar break on "I'll Fly Away") without being boring. I could listen, especially, to "Sweet By and By" and "Peace in the Valley" all day long. Great listening and great for singing along.

  5. You don't have to be particularly religious to enjoy this cd. Down-home comfort music just doesn't come any better. I'd start namin' off favorites, but nearly every song is a potential earworm.

5 comments about Wherever You Are.

  1. Third Day is a great cd. It is up lifting christian music. You can't help but to get on fire for God while listening.

  2. "Wherever You are" is another move upward by 3rd Day, progressively towards perfection. From the very first song, "Light at the end of the Tunnel" provides the opening msg for the entire album. All songs are powerfully written and performed, with "Cry out to Jesus" the most radio-popular, but every song is intense with honesty ('Who do you think you are': warning to religiosity and pious minded super-imposers who attempt to negatively influence people)and doctrine:"Communion". This is Through and Through Third Day's Best effort, and far outshines most Contemporary Christian artists today, with the only comparable challenge being David Crowder.

  3. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with inspirational songs, it's just that it can be overdone to the point where you're like, I'm not inspired. Eventually if you do it too much, you've lost your purpose. That's what happened here. If "Cry Out To Jesus" was the only inspirational song on here, there wouldn't be a problem. But instead, those type of song had to be the theme of the album, which isn't bad, it just couldve been done better. "Tunnel" and "Mountain of God" regardless of lyrics, are very poorly executed songs, and quickly shoot themselves near the top of the list for worst radio singles of the year.

These songs, and songs like them sink the album to one of the worst of 2006. Sorry Third Day, your last album was a whole lot better. Better luck next time. Inspirational is good, but very boring if overdone.

  4. As someone who has hit a rough time in their life when my daughter became very ill, this album has a special place in my heart. It was a dark and scary time and this album was one of my son's favorites at that time. It would play bringing him back and forth to school and it always seemed to reach me when I needed encouragement or began to feel lost. I actually found myself in tears at times. I have read a review that it was too "lyrically simple". Maybe you have to have gone through a time like this, but overly complicted would not have reached me to be quite frank. I am going to send this CD to a friend with a child in the pediatric ICU. I think it will encourage her and her husband too. I also found it a good work musically and I have really enjoyed listening to it. Everyone likes differant styles of music, but it is a solid album!

  5. Love it!!! Awesome CD, a great blessing and you will love it too! All their best songs in one CD. Can't beat that! This is the second CD I have brought of Third day already. Great blessing!

  1. Absolutely beautiful. I had lost another Rich Mullins CD and purchased this as a replacement. Simply, absolutely beautiful.

  2. Rich Mullins was one of those rare birds, the type of Christian who's vision was incorruptible by the makings of man-made religion and the tasty, salted morsels of idealistic micowavable faith. He was resolute, not on the things many pious church mice of our day are, but on the idea that grace has never abandoned us, that it is a very real and passionate force in this world and that God has not quit on humanity or on us as individuals. To the contrary, Mullins' words echo out from the canyons of heaven: that the faith is larger than our modest grasp of it, and that the glory of Christ transcends past the church pews where comfortable ho-hum believers find themselves rationalizing their own bored view of the cross and heaven.

Mullins hits us with the weeping testimony of a man in longing for his final home in heaven, of a free-liver who transcendentally takes in the glory of God through nature in the fields of Kansas, of a wavering Christian on the verge of free-falling from the cliffs of life as he pleads, "Hold me Jesus, because I'm shaking like a leaf. You have been my King of Glory, now be my Prince of Peace."

Mullins was, in a way, our "through the looking glass" tell-it-like-it-is poet who enabled us to think outside the realm of what we've been so boringly taught by a myriad of smug Sunday school teachers and political believers with a self-created agenda to push. Mullins words on this album radiate a calming lesson: life is to live and the faith is more than something to merely talk about. It is something to weep over, test, relish in, and, if it comes to it, bleed yourself dry for.

There will likely be others who help us to think more clearly on the reality of the greatness of the One, but there will never be one who was so poignant in the way he made us meditate on the immense, always-abounding beauty of a Creator who adores us more than any lover could hope to dream. Here, you will find a poet who spares us the cheap clichés and hits our eardrums with the radiant truth of the Everlasting.

  3. The songs on this album are wonderful, uplifting praises! This was actually my second purchase because I wore the first one out! Teens enjoy singing several of these songs, too, especially Screen Door!

  4. This is a great collection of praise music, Rich Mullins was very good at making music. I'm very happy with my purchase.

  5. This CD collection certainly doesn't need my endorsement, there's 76 reviews already, all of which are a 5, and there will be 100's more if our Lord tarries much longer. It's just that Rich Mullins is my all time favorite and it just seems fitting that I throw my review in the pot.

This collection of some of Rich Mullin's best is sure to become one of your favorites if it isn't already. The depth of the lyrics hits everyone at some point in their life, and will minister at a level that is surely God-inspired. The songs will grow on you the more you listen, and the more you listen, the more you will hear the truths of the complexities of simple life. He is the musical Norman Rockwell of the nineties...he captures meaning in what is often passed over as mundane and shows it to us with new eyes. I often wondered why God chose to take him home so soon, but after reading some of the reviews written, I understand how it added even more distinction to what he wrote. And if I really think about all he wrote about, he was really looking forward to meeting his Lord-(so maybe it was God's way of rewarding a job well-done).

If a song doesn't 'catch' you at first, try listening (in the car alone seems to work the best) to it several times in a row. You'll be amazed how it will speak to your life. I still hear things in his lyrics, so you can listen to them over and over and never tire of them.

If you listen to Christian Music at all, this is a classic that will outlive secular greats like Elvis and the Beatles. (Did I say that?) It's worth it's weight in gold.

  1. This CD is self-described as a worship CD, and it lives up to that. I bought the CD for song #1, but have enjoyed all of them. They all focus on our awesome God, helping me to look to Him.

  2. Kutless managed to put together a flawless release. standout tracks are
"Draw Me Close", "Better Is One Day", and "Word Of God Speak". these 3 three tracks are sung at Apostolic churches around the globe. one funny thing is that the cover is slightly reminiscent of the 1991 U2 album "Achtung Baby". this is the third Kutless album I have bought, and I recommend this album to Christian listeners.

  3. Kutless has a unique sound and this worship CD is filled with wonderful songs of praise with a contemporary rock sound.

  4. Most Christian artists have released a worship album, and Kutless is no exception. Although they only wrote two songs, "Ready for You" and "All of the Words" (which is "All the Words" from their CD, Sea of Faces), all the songs are great. Kutless made the songs they didn't write sound like they were their own.
Most people would like this album, whether they're Kutless fans or not, or whether they do or don't like worship albums (this is the only worship album I own). If you're a big Kutless fan, or if you like Christian rock in general, you'll like this.

  5. This is a great release by Kutless, their best by far. In a world where the worship genre has the depth of the kiddie pool, this is a great breadth of fresh air. The original songs aren't that great, so the Kutless written part still isn't that good. But the covers are moving to say the least. When I listened to their version of "Word Of God Speak" I fell to the floor in adoration. Now I've never done that before with any worship song, ever! So this CD is very powerful.

"Take Me In" is also very powerful, and one I would like to see integrated into worship services in churche. However this version is great until the forth go-around, then it gets repetitive. "We Fall Down" is another great worship song.

Overall, underrated. Most people didn't like it because there wasn't enough original material, when I actually think that that's a good thing. A very powerful worship album, and definitely one worth buying.

  1. I have listened to Paul's music since he was with Israel's Hope in the early 1980's.

His latest music seems to be even better than his early music such as Shalom Jerusalem.

This CD is a must have if you love Christian messianic praise and worship. But, moreover, it is relevant to today's praise and worship style.

  2. For those who love Paul Wilbur, this is a wonderful blend of new and old songs. For those who have never heard of Paul Wilbur and his Messianic style of worship music, this is a wonderful album for someone to be introduced to Paul Wilbur's music. The overall theme of this album is a great introduction to Messianic Hebrew Christian style of music. This album touches me down deeply. This album also brings a great sense of joy.
I love to sing along with it.

  3. Buying CD's unheard is always daunting, but this one did not disappoint. The blowing of the Shofar on the first track stirs the soul and sounds the warning. The CD is a wonderful mix of Messianic, "reggae", and christian worship music. It will be hard for Paul Wilbur to top this one.

  4. I love Messianic Worship. It is inspiring, and dynamic, and reminds us of how powerful songs are for delivering us from despair, depression, whatever the enemy has decided to hit us with. Just as David was able to soothe King Saul with his songs of the Lord playing his lyre, so too Paul Wilbur is able to get up stirred up and roused to worship the Lord, and praise Him for His mighty works! God loves to hear His children praise and worship Him. With each song we can fight the enemy, doing battle and bringing Glory to the Father.
I cannot get enough of the songs of Paul Wilbur. He made albums in the 90's with Integrity Music as well.
A great voice and a wonderful man living for God.
    Awesome CD

  5. The CD arrived in excellent condition, and I was impressed with the
great packaging used to ship the product.

5 comments about Never Going Back to OK.

  1. I had no idea this was Christian rock. It's really good and they don't try to shove religion down your throat.

  2. I got this album like several many can relate, for that one good radio hit! It has it on here "Keeping Me Alive". As for the other songs, hit or miss. The band's lyrics unlike sanctus real or kutless doesn't sound quite so much christian but more like pop. Which isn't a bad thing, but it should be listed as a pop/rock not christian album. It seems like after hearing this band it makes me think that any band can have one sort-of christian song on it and it gets labeled as a christian album. Myspace girl is a cool other song though. It does warn about the dangers of our youth getting caught up in online dating relationships. I feel comfortable listening to this album but I fear those that aren't Christians couldn't tell I was listening to a Christian group. Its not a bad album. I still like it quite a bit, but if you're looking for a group that has more solid Christ Centered emphasis lyrics, I'd recommend not picking up this one. I have heard a brief bio of Josh, the main singer of the band on Klove and he seems like he is a christian, but if so, he should help the group put more of an emphasis on their faith.

  3. There are a lot of good songs on this album. Very mainstream and listenable. If you like any of their old stuff this is about the same.

  4. As a street team member and real lover of this bands first album, I counted the days until the new release and then bam, my heart was broken. The title track is the only song worth listening to. Never going back to ok is the only song worthy of the bands creative lyrics and sound. The rest of the album is the usual we have to sound like everyone else, CCM or bust! It is so terrible that all the new Alternative Christian Bands and Worship albums all sound the same, like something that fell out of Third Day's washing machine!
I tried desperately to listen to the cd one more time but couldn't make it through. I just have to hope they get the conformity out of their system and survive to make a third album. If it isn't good then it's over. Such a shame because their first release was the first cd ever that I actually love every single song. I guess that is to hard to top.

  5. I first heard the single "Beautiful Love" back in 2005, and then I was hooked on this band. The Afters are a great Alternative rock band. When I then heard the new single "Tonight" I thought ....this is awesome, I must have the new album. And so I did. The new album is more than OK. It's really good. Besides from the "Tonight" song I really like "Keeping Me Alive" and "Myspace Girl". So my advice to you, are..get the album its great. I'll give it a 3,5 of a total 5. //mikehell74

  1. This is one of my all-time favorite worship albums. I have enjoyed it from the first time I ever put it in the Cd player. The guys in Third day can really rock, and on this album they mix the rocking energy into a well captured worship service. Their cover of Bob Dylan's "saved" is more than worth the price of the album by itself.

  2. I have quickly become a fan of Third Day. I especially love "Saved" and "Thief". Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

  3. If you are looking for somthing from Third Day, I would say get this, becuse it's a really good live worship cd. I am a big Third Day fan and have heard this cd many times, and all the songs are good! One other great thing about it is, it has alot of old songs that they put on here, another is they have some new songs. If you are a fan of Third Day fan, or don't know who they are and don't have this cd, then I think you will like it.

  4. This one's great! One of Third Day's best albums. Offerings II is awesome as well.

  5. Awesome! That is the best description of this praise & worship CD from Third Day. My all-time favorite is "Saved". It's reminiscent of the old days of southern Christian music that really rocked the house! God bless Third Day and their music ministry. They use the music of today to express a message that has been relevant since before the dawn of man.

5 comments about I Will Go.

  1. This is definitely their best album yet! As I stated in another review (on their first self-titled album) I am so drawn to their music because of their outstanding accomplishment of amazing instrumental and lyrical artistry. At the same time, the band exceptionally manages to integrate pure worship themes. I won't even get into how incredible they are live, that's another review ;)

Now, I don't like comparing bands because it could give a false impression (plus I like to consider every artist independently). However, I do have to mention that Starfield's sound seems to range from the deep, rich and soulful likeness of Coldplay to the rock and introspective/take-action themes of dcTalk.

Below I comment on a few individual songs. Sometimes I might mention the sound of the music, other times I focus on other aspects. I only chose a few tracks because I don't think I could do every song justice, and I figure a brief overview of the different elements of the album is the best bet.

    1. From The Corners Of The Earth - Kicks off with an exemplary unique sound, eventually transitioning into a very catchy anthem!

    2. Hosanna - The song as we know it with a bit of a softened "rock-inspired" edge (if that makes sense)!

    3. Reign In Us - I appreciate how the transitions, as well as the chorus itself just have these impeccable layers that create a moving sound.

    4. Holy Is Our God - One of, if not my absolute favourite song over all 3 of their albums. I would say it is the equivalent of the song "Obsession" on their sophomore album "Beauty in the Broken", but taken to a whole other level. "Holy is Our God" is a powerful, melodious track with chords and vocals that truly cry out. The repetition of the lyrical declaration just emotively builds and builds. I have to admit, when I am truly engrossed with this song I feel like I am flying.

    "Holy is our God
    Wonderful is He
    Holy is the Lord Almighty
    Holy is our God
    The Prince of perfect peace
    Holy is the Lord Almighty"

    5. I Will Go - This is the song of action, inspiring and calling us to go into the world and do what we were meant to do. It's an effective message with a musical style that has the same kind of anthem feel as "From The Corners Of The Earth". It also really makes you think about our apathy and the privileged position we are in (both geographically and spiritually).

    7. All We Need - I particularly like how the lyrics respond to us needing more in our lives then this world, and how we will not be satisfied otherwise.

"You are all our hearts are beating for
    And You will always be
We don't want what the world gives anymore
    You are all we need"

Once again, I can honestly state that this is Starfield's best album yet, even just based on the first 5 songs! Their music is not entertainment - it is truly an experience that you must discover. Then you'll want an encore!

P.S. The only question I have, and maybe I'll leave this on a random note, but why do they not have a music video yet?!

  2. This album is inspiring and moving. I've played it on loop almost day and night since I got it.

  3. I think Starfield has one of the best vocalists ever. I loved their other two releases, too. I happen to like the "calmer" songs better than the ones with more of a edge. I was afraid this new album would be too rock, but a few songs (Reign in Us, Remain, Hiding Place) sound just like the Starfield I know and love. So glad I bought it.

  4. I have LOVED this group since the first time I heard "Filled With Your Glory" which we still sing at my church. Their 2004 debut album also included the biblical and catchy "Tumbling After" and "Alive In This Moment" which all hooked me. Then, in 2006 they took it up a notch with "Beauty And The Broken" with the hit song "Everything Is Beautiful" and one of my favorite Starfield songs, "Obsession".

Now in 2008, along comes "I Will Go". Like the 1st two albums, this is alternative rock praise and worship and arguably their strongest album to date. "From The Corners of the Earth" kicks it off in classic Starfield style and then they totally rock "Hosanna", an amazing cover of the Hillsong United song. "Reign In Us", the rocking "I Will Go" and "Hiding Place" are my other favorites. Fans of Delirious?, Leeland and Sanctus Real will want to "Go" with Starfield.

  5. This CD is unique in that it is very appealing with its upbeat tunes and electric noises attracting a teenager or young adult, or even adults but does not jeopardize lyrical quality. The lyrics are very moving. Enhanced by the music, the lyrics reflect the heart of the artists and their desires for glorifying God. The lyrics alone can move a heavy heart.

Compared with the first Starfield album, this one, I feel, is better in the musical sense. The music is more energetic, more upbeat. But like the first album, this one does not trade lyrical quality for instrumental quality. My favorite song on the album is probably Reign in Us. It is a very clear proclamation and a powerful call for God to come into our lives and take control. It expresses the desperation of mankind and how the only solution is Jesus and his mighty hand working in our lives.

Overall, I think that this CD is a two thumbs up, maybe even some big toes. It's great to listen to while driving or at home or at any venue and it introduces an atmosphere of worship that is irresistible. Every time I listen to it I get excited about worshiping God and sometimes can't help but dance. It's a must have for any contemporary worship fans (Rush of Fool fans, etc.).

5 comments about Total Attention.

  1. My favorites in this order are You, Time 4 A Change, and Holding On To You.
This album is more like Part 1, Part 2 was released first.
ONE LOVE IS STILL HEAVY HITTING IN MY CAR, LOL!

  2. THIS CD DEFINITELY DESERVES EVERYONES TOTAL ATTENTION! ITS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING & IS A TRUE BLESSING FROM BEGINNING TO END. YOU SHOULD EVEN BLESS FAMILY & FRIENDS WITH IT. I HAVE USED THIS CD TO ENCOURAGE & PRAISE MYSELF OUT OF CHALLENGING TIMES WHEN GOD WAS "STRETCHING ME" TO RECIEVE MORE FROM HIM & I HAVE ALSO USED THIS CD IN GOOD TIMES TO JUST PRAISE GOD & UPLIFT HIS NAME. THESE GUYS REALLY LOVE THE LORD & THEY SHOW IT & YOU FEEL IT! J MOSS IS AN AMAZING PRODUCER & SINGER ALL BY HIMSELF SO TO SAY PAJAM DID THIS CD SHOULD TELL YOU ITS RIDICULOUS FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. THIS CD IS A BLESSING TO ANYONE THAT GETS IT IN THEIR HANDS & I MEAN IT FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. :0)..GOD BLESS YOU! xoxoxoxoxo

  3. This CD is great! The guys have a modern sound that makes me proud of them infusing it with Gospel. My favourite song is "Holding on to You". I even tested it on group of ppl to see their response to it. It was amazing to see everybody come together and dance to it. Other favourites include the smooth sounding "U Got Me Through", head bobbing "Time for a Change"and the bonus track "Everybody can't Go". As a matter of fact... I love all the songs. Being in the Caribbean, you dont hear much Gospel songs being sung like that. I dont regret buying this Cd at all. Yall better get it, man. Blessings from d Most High to 21:03!

  4. Well, I'm sure many will disagree, but my opinion is true, this album is merely OK. This cd does not show growth. The group did not branch out and work with other producers. At times, they continue to sound like J. Moss' back-up singers (on thier own cd!). The fast paced songs all sound the same, or are a mere imitation to the Chris Brown style, and slow songs are forced on the cd. Now I love 21:03, I love their message, and I love the fact that they are young brothas holding up the standard for youth Christianity. However, we are not judging them (as people) we are judging the musical artistry and this time, they did not cut it. I have faith in you, try again.

  5. This is a wonderful CD. 21:03 sound very mature in this CD. All can relate and listen to it. You can tell they sing from their heart and the songs stick with you. My daughter, who is 4, loves this CD. She think it is one of the great ones(CD's) out there. She played for a week straight in her CD player. "Total Attention" really gets your attention with the bollywood influence.I like "Riverside" a tribute to the classic spiritual. My favorite is "U got me through". It is just a nice relaxing jam talking about how God brings you through life's events."Power of Christ" is live and you can feel the group's personal knowledge of the song. You can tell it is more than just a song. It has been out about a week or two and I have already bought three copies of this because every one I let listen to mine love the CD so much. I just let them have them. That alone should encourage you to take a listen, too. I love see young men sing about something helpful and constructive but not portray them selves as old and stuffy. Plus they are not to gummy pop that it irritates you. They remind me of a Men of Standard or Commissioned with a 21st century sound.

  1. Volume 2 Home Coming has surpassed all expectations from Vol1.
Anyone who enjoys gospel bluegrass or blue grass/country will surely not be disappointed with the talent on this DVD. Excellent Nashville session players make this DVD a "Highly Recommend". Marty Stuart, Vince Gill, George Jones all performing at their best. Grascals, Doyle Lawson,Larry Sparks need no critique for their great bluegrass sounds. Just too many stars on this DVD, Jimmy Fortune, Booth Bros, CherylHomes, the list just goes on and on. I could hardly wait for Vol 3.

  2. What a huge disappointment. When I buy a Gaither Gospel Series video, I expect to see and hear plenty of the Homecoming Friends harmonizing with whatever guest personalities happen to be present. This one was way too short on homecoming friends! Watching/hearing George Jones work his way through old hymns isn't my idea of Country Bluegrass. Furthermore, this video was produced without Gloria Gaither, and she was SORELY MISSED! I was sadly disappointed in this video, and its predecessor, Volume 1.
