  1. As I have listened to this CD, and finally pull out the credits. You'll first see that Darwin Hobbs is now on TYSCOT RECORDS and not EMI! Hmmm, I wonder why, but that's just me being noisey. TYSCOT always seems to me, a record company that allows the artist to make a lot decisions in which way they chose. First, to understand the album you have to understand the background behind it, in Darwin Hobbs doing some house cleaning from the past by coming out about him being molested as a pre-teen. NE ways, you can do some hunting on the net for the story. I'm a supporter of Darwin's ministry and have 3 of his previous projects, and I must admit...I had to sort of adjust with some of the project. But after about a week, I began to CLING to songs like: YOUR GRACE IS ENOUGH (which allows you to pull out your bible and go over the promises that the Lord has given us...ex: Jer 29:11 ETC.)...and others like: IN THIS PLACE, (which has a breakdown that really pulls me right in the middle of the song..."there is love here, there is peace here, there is joy here, in this place...") and looked at the credits to see Darwin had part in writing this tune. I'm also really glad that he decided to put FREE, the acoustic version on this CD, it allowed me to enjoy the song even more than the original...as it at first seems too overbearing, instrumentation wise. But I love the song Darwin, if you're reading this! OK...GET READY!!! Cut number 6: I REPENT, is a vital part of this project. With an essence of the late Luther Vandross' style here. This will be a tune that will help our lifestyle of repenting. I appreciate the arrangement, strings...and the little or no rhythmn section. And I think that this album wouldn't have been with HE'S ABLE, which you can pull up and watch on youtube....YOU MUST HAVE THIS IN YOUR COLLECTION! Darwin we need a live DVD from you, with tons of behind the scenes interviews and commentary from you and Traci!

  2. Overall the CD is just OK and Dobbs is a Blessed male artist. I just wished that this recording was live like the last song than being studio recorded.

  1. This is one of the best worship CDs I've ever heard. The DVD is excellent also.

  2. I love Hillsong United. This Cd is so awesome. One of the best of the year for me. Great worship songs, great music. All around- AWESOME.

  3. I mean, seriously? This CD got me back into Christian music. After hearing this CD I went back and got a lot of their previous albums. Great stuff. I love the mix of 'rocking out' and quiet praise. I honestly could just put this CD on in my truck and never change it.

  4. Wish I could give it a 10+ ... I had this album for over a year and it just sat around and I never really gave it a chance....don't know why but I didn't and then I finally decided to give it a chance and boy was I in for a totally unexpected suprise....once I really listened to it, it did not leave my cd player for 4 months straight. Seriously!! I listened to this CD day and night, on my way to work, at work, at home, working out... wherever I could find a place to just listen and worship. That was why I could not get enough of this CD, it makes you just want to worship and praise Jesus. It is by far the most influential and powerful worship CD I own and I own TONS of Christian albums. I cannot begin to tell you the impact this album has had on my family and friends. I have shared this album with all of my friends and it has had a tremendous impact on them as well. My kids LOVE this album. I would say this, the best songs for me start from tracks 5-10 (From The Inside Out to Fire Fall Down) and 15-17 (The Stand to Hallelujah). These are the passion and root of the album personally. You just get continous and endless praise and worship songs that you can just sing along to, lift your hands and JOYFULLY worship and adore our Creator. This album just makes you want to stop whatever it is you are doing, close your eyes and focus on Him and what He has done for us and how good He is. I have played this cd so much that it is worn out and I have to eventually buy another one. My family and I also saw them at Fellowship Church in Grapevine not too long ago and it was one of the best experiences at a concert in terms of simple worship without alot of unnecessary production. There were no fancy lights or special effects or what have you, it was just simple praise and worship I truly felt Joel Houston's love and passion for Christ and it was a very moving and powerful experience. Truly love this album, love their creativity and most importantly their love for Christ. I not only recommend this album but share it with everyone whom you come in contact with and tell them about this album.IT IS JUST THAT GOOD!!! EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS ABLUM....

  5. Simply Amazing, Annointed, Blessed, and just Good. This CD is beyond good. The best worship for this generation. I love these guys. This is a MUST buy....

  1. I knew his name, but not his music. I followed the lead of some earlier reviewers, and oh what an excellent CD! It is my favorite worship CD--so beautiful and moving, with impressive production and musical talent. (I feel like I've been under a rock not to have known about Donnie McClurkin's music.) This pastor is so humble as he shares his gift. The product includes two full-length CDs. Both are well done with an assortment of worship music. One medley takes me back to distant childhood memories of a great grandmother's baptist church, which I love. Also included are inspiring international worship songs. One of my favorite praise songs is "Only You are Holy." It tells the truth and gives me goose bumps.

  2. I really enjoy the Donnie McClurkin cd. I was all I expected it to be. I also appreciate Amazon for getting the cd to me in a timely matter. Thanks Amazon. I will always do business with you.

  3. What a wonderful, spiritually uplifting cd! This cd was better than I anticipated. I would highly recommend this to anyone who feels like the world sometimes is overwhelming them with its cares and burdens. It's not God's will for us to be beat up by life. Take a moment to listen to this cd and get refreshed in His presence!

  4. Donnie McClurkin's voice is a blessed vehicle that immediately transports the listener to a place of total praise and worship. This album contains traditional as well as contemporary songs, yet through the timbre and power of McClurkin's voice and God's amazing anointing on him, McClurkin is able to transform those songs and deliver the most worshipful and powerful anthems.

I listen to this album over and over in my car and whether it's the repetitive chant "There's no God like Jehovah" in the song "Days of Elijah" or "Agnus Dei", "Great and Mighty" "Total Praise", "Ooh Child", or the oldies in the "Blood Medley", I soon have my passengers singing and worshipping along. Whenever I play this album, my friends always go out to purchase a copy. Is there a greater testimony? If I had to take only one album from my music collection, this would have to be it.

McClurkin is clearly musically gifted because his style and delivery with the accompaniment of his choir is soul-stirring. My hands go up in praise. His genius in singing to people of different cultures and languages gives him worldclass appeal. He reaches out to the global stage in a very respectful manner through language and style and leads his diverse audience into a time of worship.

This album was not recommended to me. Rather I happened to see it in the store and purchased it after having heard his "Live in London" album. I have not been dissapointed but instead I've been richly blessed and I thank God for Donnie McClurkin that he has used his talent of song and music. This album is a must buy!! Seriously.

  5. I love this cd albumn. I love it that Donnie McClurkin and the choir sings in so many different languages! I love the beat and the energy in each song. This is another spiritually uplifting cd, so joyful.....it's a joy to praise God with these songs. The spirit is truly with Donnie and this choir. I give God all the praise for this albumn!

  1. Stellar Kart's newest CD, Expect The Impossible, is much more than I expected. I've never really listened to their music before. I purchased the CD from Pepsi points and was really impressed with what I heard. Their sound is much different than what I typically listen to (i.e., Starfield, Telecast, Salvador, etc.), but different is good in this case. I highly recommend this CD!!

  2. I bought the first 2 Stellar Kart cds and saw the newest one advertised on Amazon for a pretty low price, so I went ahead and ordered it, but did not have very high expectations. I thought the first CD was great lyrically, but not very good musically. The second one was a little better, but still a bit on the cheesy side. I really like the newest CD quite a bit. Their musical ability is improving. The guitars are sounding better and the tunes are a little more catchy now. Their lyrics are still very spiritual, which is fine with me. I think there was quite a bit of improvement over the first CDs here. It's still not quite in the league of Hawk Nelson or Relient K, but they're catching up, in my opinion. Listen to some samples and see what you think.

  3. Really . . . it does. David Lee Roth once said music in the '80s smiled. By capturing elements of '80s music, that's exactly what this album does. I don't like a lot of Contemporary Christian music, but this album is good --very good--from beginning to end. They don't compromise a modern sound while experimenting with elements from previous generations.

It's got a little of Def Leopard's (or Blue Oyster Cult's) cowbell, Van Halen's 1984 synthesizer, and various other '80s synth sounds similar to Ah-Ha or Cutting Crew. Compared to the normal dark and disturbed albums prevalent in secular as well as Christian music, this is more than a refreshing diversion.

It's great to see a modern group with a modern sound that can capture in sound and mood the essence of what made a decade of music so popular.

  4. This album is a step in somewhat of a new direction for Stellar Kart, as there are a number of poppy tracks mixed in with the occasional pop-punk throwback. My two complaints are the length of the CD, only 10 tracks and about 30 minutes of music, plus there are a couple of tracks that sound like Linkin Park, which is just not a good sound for this band. The sunny pop of "Innocent" to begin the record is classic Stellar Kart, and the ballad "Jesus Loves You" proves that these guys write and sing the songs they feel in their hearts as opposed to some corporate, mainstream spit-shined glossy band who only does what their record label tells them to do. "Automatic" is another song with lots of hooks and guitars. Despite the length of the album, there are enough hooks in the upbeat anthem "Sunshine" and the guitar-studded pop punk of "The Rigt One" (which recalls MxPx even moreso than track #4 on their previous CD) to keep the appetite of their fans satisfied. This band continues to gradually improve, but one does get the feeling that they have not quite hit their peak yet on their three albums to date.

  1. My wife loves this guys music. So of his songs are catchy, but ofr the most part I skip it evertime he comes up on the IPOD. I think you should check out someone elses review for this one.

  2. I'm Not Who I Was is an awesome song I heard on myspace. Had to order the CD and was not disappointed.

  3. I'll admit I had to give this CD time to grow on me. My first impressions weren't that great, and I set it aside for a month or two. But I pulled it out again and have really started enjoying it.

Brandon Heath is the latest in the pop/soft rock singer/songwriter genre. As such, he can tend to get lost in the crowd. And that was my problem originally. But there are some real gems here. There's the funky beat to "I'm Not Who I Was" and the quiet minor key of "Red Sky." And the quiet, melodious "The Light" just adds to the power of the song. While radio hit "Our God Reigns" has a full band sound, many of these songs are simply arranged. I'm not quite sure I'd call them acoustic, but it's very close.

There are some great lyrics here, too. "Steady Now" is about bridging gaps between people while "Simple Man" reminds us that God can use us despite our flaws. For pure worship, there's "Our God Reigns." I must admit I had to really listen to "Red Sky" to get it, but I love it now. It's a reminder that there is a better day coming. "I'm Not Who I Was" is a song about the lessons learned even from a bad relationship. The title track is a challenge to go out and live life outside our comfort zones. And "The Light" is a comforting reminder from God that He will heal us.

The only song on here I don't like is "Let's Make it Last." Written as a love song, it's just too slow. And I don't care for the second verse where they consider playing hooky. But that's probably just me.

While this debut could be stronger, it shows plenty of promise. I'm looking forward to seeing where Brandon goes from here.

  4. I've just recently purchased this CD and I couldn't stop listening to it. God has truly blessed this artist. Brandon strongly expresses his love for the Lord by the way he sings these beautiful songs of inspiration. Definitely worth having in your Christian music CD collection.

  5. I had heard several of the songs on this cd before purchasing it and really liked it, but had no idea that it would be good from start to finish. I highly recommend it to anyone intested in comtemporary Christian music.

  1. Excellent as always, kirk throws down the tightest grooves with the strong message of god in every fiber, in every note, with every beat.
    He's a BAD BOY .

  2. I'm always late to the party, and I just got this CD, but I have always loved "Brighter Day," and bought the album because of that, but have been so pleased with all the other songs on it too. "Hossanah" and "He Reigns" are gorgeous as well. Kirk is the bomb, plain and simple.

  3. I have had hot and cold, on and off feelings about Kirk Franklin since his music became popular in the earlier nineties. Kirk Franklin admits that he has had some struggles, but this album doesn't struggle at all. This album is an album of exhortation and praise!

  4. These CD is fresh. I love how real the songs are and how many people these songs can reach

  5. This is his best CD to date. I have them all and this by far my favorite one. Very inspirational.

  1. THIS CD DEFINITELY DESERVES EVERYONES TOTAL ATTENTION! ITS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING & IS A TRUE BLESSING FROM BEGINNING TO END. YOU SHOULD EVEN BLESS FAMILY & FRIENDS WITH IT. I HAVE USED THIS CD TO ENCOURAGE & PRAISE MYSELF OUT OF CHALLENGING TIMES WHEN GOD WAS "STRETCHING ME" TO RECIEVE MORE FROM HIM & I HAVE ALSO USED THIS CD IN GOOD TIMES TO JUST PRAISE GOD & UPLIFT HIS NAME. THESE GUYS REALLY LOVE THE LORD & THEY SHOW IT & YOU FEEL IT! J MOSS IS AN AMAZING PRODUCER & SINGER ALL BY HIMSELF SO TO SAY PAJAM DID THIS CD SHOULD TELL YOU ITS RIDICULOUS FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. THIS CD IS A BLESSING TO ANYONE THAT GETS IT IN THEIR HANDS & I MEAN IT FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. :0)..GOD BLESS YOU! xoxoxoxoxo

  2. This CD is great! The guys have a modern sound that makes me proud of them infusing it with Gospel. My favourite song is "Holding on to You". I even tested it on group of ppl to see their response to it. It was amazing to see everybody come together and dance to it. Other favourites include the smooth sounding "U Got Me Through", head bobbing "Time for a Change"and the bonus track "Everybody can't Go". As a matter of fact... I love all the songs. Being in the Caribbean, you dont hear much Gospel songs being sung like that. I dont regret buying this Cd at all. Yall better get it, man. Blessings from d Most High to 21:03!

  3. Well, I'm sure many will disagree, but my opinion is true, this album is merely OK. This cd does not show growth. The group did not branch out and work with other producers. At times, they continue to sound like J. Moss' back-up singers (on thier own cd!). The fast paced songs all sound the same, or are a mere imitation to the Chris Brown style, and slow songs are forced on the cd. Now I love 21:03, I love their message, and I love the fact that they are young brothas holding up the standard for youth Christianity. However, we are not judging them (as people) we are judging the musical artistry and this time, they did not cut it. I have faith in you, try again.

  4. This is a wonderful CD. 21:03 sound very mature in this CD. All can relate and listen to it. You can tell they sing from their heart and the songs stick with you. My daughter, who is 4, loves this CD. She think it is one of the great ones(CD's) out there. She played for a week straight in her CD player. "Total Attention" really gets your attention with the bollywood influence.I like "Riverside" a tribute to the classic spiritual. My favorite is "U got me through". It is just a nice relaxing jam talking about how God brings you through life's events."Power of Christ" is live and you can feel the group's personal knowledge of the song. You can tell it is more than just a song. It has been out about a week or two and I have already bought three copies of this because every one I let listen to mine love the CD so much. I just let them have them. That alone should encourage you to take a listen, too. I love see young men sing about something helpful and constructive but not portray them selves as old and stuffy. Plus they are not to gummy pop that it irritates you. They remind me of a Men of Standard or Commissioned with a 21st century sound.

  5. 2103's first album was ok but after a while the songs started to sound the same in my opinion so i was kinda skeptical about getting this one but Im glad i did get this one!!! Every song sounded different and unique. You can also tell that the boys have grown spiritually.

  5. Excellent arrangements and excellent song choices on the CDs. Every Christian parent should have a few of the Cedarmont Kids CDs in their collection in my opinion. These are affordable and simply some of the very best of what is currently available.
