5 comments about America's 25 Favorite Praise & Worship Choruses, Vol. 1.

  1. As a pastor I find it difficult to focus on sermon preparation during those busy times when I've spent two-thirds of the day at the hospital with the family of a member who's near death, visited a shut in(s), prayed and counseled a mother who's dealing with a gay son, etc. As I listen to this CD, I can empty my mind of the things that have just happened and focus on God in this moment! It's a wonderful selection of worship and praise music!

  2. I bought all 4 volumes in this series together as "America's 100 Favorite...." Don's gifted style results in moving P&W from Sunday to 24/7 in your car or portable CD player. I searched the web for all possible P&W CD's, and conclude his arrangements are a quantum level higher than most everyone else. Great news in 05 for his fans. [...] See my review on that web page; with more and more even greater and anointed P&W songs being published year by year, his 05 CD takes it on up to another level; the best is probably still yet to come from the song writers. Check out "Forever," "Now Is The Time To Worship," and "He Knows My Name," etc., and see for yourself.

  3. I see some negative reviews for the 3rd and 4th volumes of this series but these are openly described as choruses and so they will naturally be short. However, as I only have this first volume, all I can say is that I'm very pleased with the track selections which are among my favorite worship songs.

The recording quality is also quite good and I find this cd to be very uplifting. The shortest track is 1 minute and 7 seconds long ("Awesome God")while the longest track is 3 minutes 34 seconds long ("Give Thanks"). Looking at the selections in the other volumes though, it appears to me that the best tracks are here.

A great compilation of my favorite choruses with reasonably good sound quality and so 5 stars!!!

  4. This is a really great C.D. Some that I have bought in the past have not been very good quality C.D.'s. I would recommend this to anyone who loves worship music.

  5. this is such a good cd for all ages . I work with teens 7 and 8th graders. We have the cd but we don't have the words to put on the over head, can you help me to find them. We are trying to play the songs every week. thanks

5 comments about Relationships.

  1. This CD was very inspirational. Listen not only to the music which is soul stirring, but the words have such great meaning depth. I would advise any married couple to listen to this CD over and over and allow the words to absorb in their souls. The songs "These What Abouts", "If Anything Ever Happened to You" and "Count it All Joy" are very good for couples. The songs "He's Always There", "Right Away" and "We Can Make A Difference" are for the soul and spirit of an individual.

  2. It was awesome Id been looking for the song "These Whatabouts" forever and couldn't find more tha 30 second demos until I brought this CD its excellent and totally worth the money. All of the songs are great.

  3. I bought this album when it first came out and then it sat on shelves for the past couple of years. I recently rediscovered it and what a treat to listen to such pure, inspirational music with an uplifting message!

BeBe and CeCe sound so well together. My favorite tracks include Count It All Joy, He's Always There, Stay With Me and Right Away. Also, listen to the closing track, We Can Make A Difference....this has such a poignant message. This album is timeless; it sounds as good today as the day when I first purchased it in 1994.

  4. This is an excellent inspirational CD. The song is about the many relationships we all experience.

  5. After looking for gospel music to play at my wedding reception I've found exactly what I hoped I would. Words and meaning that express exactly how I feel about this wonderful man I am about to marry. I listen to it every chance I get. I love BeBe and CeCe!

  1. His two best albums, together on one nicely remastered CD. Sounds great with no background noise. Christian music recorded for a secular label (ABC) at a time when such things were largely unheard of. But he was professional and respected enough to pull it off. Featuring many great names of the LA studio scene of the '70s, like Larry Carlton, Dean Parks, David Hungate, Lee Ritenour, Ernie Watts, etc., etc. Polished and meaningful without beating you over the head. It was worth it to me to pay a premium for it after missing it when it was released.

  1. Great music and graphics, nice variety of songs. My favorite feature is that you have the option to omit the vocals so that your kids can to all the singing, or you can make your own music mix. You also have the option to display the lyics at the bottom of the screen, so those who don't know the songs can still participate. As noted by a previous reviewer, kids of all ages love this one. We got it to use for the 4th-6th grade kids, but the 5 year old daughter of the Children's Pastor loved it too, so we are buying another for the younger children. The only problem we had is that the DVD did not work on some of our players.

  2. We do a kid's church with K through 5th graders. The DVD works well for our worship time. All ages seem to enjoy the graphics and music. Other worship DVD's were a little too young for our 4th and 5th graders, but this one is embraced by all.

  3. I was expecting this DVD to show the children singing, dancing and worshiping with the music. Instead, there are a lot of choppy and computerized scenes like clouds in the sky, cities at night and lots of lights flashing in the background. Occasionally some kids dance or lip sync, but not enough to justify making a DVD. I would definitely not recommend this DVD. The CD is definitely a better choice!

5 comments about More.

  1. I love this album. It has some of the same songs as Martha and Isreal, but other than that Mary Alessi is standing her own. No worship collection is complete w/o this album.

  2. This is one of my favorite CDs. I really enjoy the wide range of song styles. The upbeat praise songs are just as rich and heart-felt as the slower worship ones. This is the CD I put in when I need encouragement and want to declare GOD's joy and goodness. The teaching and prophetic declarations also included among the songs have touched me time and again. The more the songs encourage me the more I find myself lost in worship.

  3. I was at the night of the recording. Mary Alessi & New Breed rocked the house. Great cd, recommended it to all!!

  4. WOW, I love the way God directs my paths! He led a friend who has a Gospel radio show to give me this CD, and it has deepened my relationship with the SAvior!! It also came, OF COURSE, at just the time I really needed encouragements that there is truly, as one of the songs says, "a new day dawnin'; a breathrough comin'--for YOu (JESUS) are the LORD of the breakthrough!!!"

I want MORE of such CDs by Mary Alessi as "More". I was pleased also to hear her sing it on "When Women Worship," which is also life-changing!

Please don't stop writing and worshipping and sharing it with the world, Mary! HALLELUJAH!!

  5. her voice is smoother and sweeter than Martha's this is one of the best worship cd's out there.

3 comments about Top 25 Praise Songs for 2005.

  1. You gotta have these songs!!! My kids sings with me in the car, and they love them! Package looks like brand new! Received on time!

  2. This is like buying a "Top Hits" CD only to find that it's not by the original artists. These are supposedly the songs tearing up churches, but these lounge band renditions are more of a snooze than the tired hymns they're meant to replace. Can this be the same Maranatha Music that once put out the Praise and Maranatha series of albums? That once had Tom Howard arranging their records? Does it have any relation to the Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa that put out the Altar Boys' Gut Level Music, Undercover's Boys and Girls Renounce the World and Leslie Phillips on Back to the Rock? When you want to put those out again, Maranatha, I'll be listening.

The good thing is that if you get a CCLI license, you can perform these songs at your own church, and some of them are strong songs when played by real bands like Third Day, Delirious, and the O.C. Supertones. This CD demonstrates the down side of cranking out praise songs as a cottage industry. Go listen to the Beatles (Ringo had talking drums, not a drum machine). You say you want a Reformation? Start with the music.

  3. I love this CD set! Its really easy listening and has great artists!

  1. Michael English is so pure and sincere as he worships the Lord with his singing on this album. The song "Mary Did You Know" brought tears to my eyes as I listened to the words. It was soul wrenching. This album is a must have!

  2. The first time I heard "Mary Do You Know", I just couldn't believe the effect it had on me. Words can not adequately convey the feelings I experienced upon hearing this song. And, it is now one of my favorite songs of all time. And, I can not imagine anyone other than Michael English singing it to create that inexplicable feeling we have when we hear it. It is an amazing, unfogettable song.

All of the other songs on the CD are very, very good, and "Heaven" is a song that I personally like to listen to in the evening, and "Let's Build a Bridge" is an upbeat song that I love to start off my day with.

I plan to give the speical people in my life this CD as a gift for Christmas, birthdays, or for any other occasion that a special gift is needed. I have almost all of Michael English's CD's, but this is definitely my
favorite one. So, I whole-heartly recommend it and, YES,I think
it deserves not just 5, but 6 STARS!!

  3. I first heard, "Mary, Did You Know?" Last year on a local radio station at Christmas time. The rendition I heard was haunting and I knew I had to have it before Christmas this year. I ordered the CD, hoping it would be the same version I heard on the radio and not some special Christmas remix. I was not disappointed! The song is among my very favorites of all time!
    I highly recommend this CD!

  4. This a collection of some very upbeat, positive songs as well as a few of Michael's more well known - best performance - songs. I have the cassette also, and it is a personal favorite !

    Enjoy !

  5. All I can say is that ANY song sung by this talented man is worth owning and listening to on a daily basis. I first heard Michael sing "Mary Did You Know" a couple of years ago and have been touched by the music ever since. I highly recommend this cd, Healing, and Gospel.

5 comments about I Won't Complain.

  1. I was very pleased with the CD even though it is shorter than the tape. I enjoyed it

  2. I bought this album for my boyfriend. He loves the album. It has 6 songs on it, so it's shorter than most. Also, the sound quality is not the best, but apart from that, it's a pretty good album.

  3. I ordered the CD just for the song, "I won't complain." Well, I must complain. The song was cut off. I was very disappointed about that. I thought there was something wrong with my stereo, but it had nothing to do with that. The song is much shorter than the original version. If I had known that, I would've continued my search. Other than that, the other songs, which I had never heard before, are really uplifting.

  4. This CD is a must-have for lovers of classic gospel. The late Rev. Paul Jones never claimed to have the best singing voice in the world, however he sang from his heart and spirit. The emotion that comes through in each song on this CD will give you goosebumps. In his short life, Rev. Jones was a legend in the Houston area for his version of "I Won't Complain". "Don't Want No Rocks" will bring tears to the eyes of those seeking to mend their relationship with God. Sadly, Rev. Jones was murdered before he had a chance to bless the world with another CD. He lives on through this spirit-filled collection.

  5. this song makes me understand that there are people in this world that are worse off then me. so there for i should have nothing to complain about. when im having a very bad day i use to play this song and cry till i couldn't cry no more and think about all the bad things i have done in my life .and after hearing this song i realize that things ar not as bad as i make them seem. there is a rev. where i am from that sung this song at my grandfathers funeral, and at my great aunts.

5 comments about B.J. Thomas. 22 Classic Tracks. CD Double Play.

  1. Having heard various B J Thomas tracks on radio over the years and liked them I thought it time I bought a CD. I chose the one with the most tracks that I had previously heard/enjoyed although there were others which I hoped I would also like. Unfortunately this wasn't the case and I would regard about half of the 22 tracks as not very memorable. However, the sound quality was excellent and at the price paid it worked out about $1 per track that I liked and I regard this as good value.

  2. Just as I remember them on vinyl. Great sound quality. If you want to bring back memories a must.

  3. Whereas purists might cry foul at re-recordings, I have enjoyed this collection for years. Some of the tracks are the original versions. In fact, I don't think anything really sounds inferior. And frankly, 22 tracks from such a talented voice at a bargain price makes for a good value. Plus, there are a few rare gems here, such as the haunting Jimmy Webb-penned tune "Song for my Brother."

  4. I forgot about some of this music so its pretty cool having it again after all these years

  5. These are NOT the original tracks that we all heard on the radio. They sound like primitive rehearsal tracks with marginal singing, bad orchestration, and different arrangements.

Do Not Buy This CD --- or on second thought, please buy mine.

    Forrest
