- I was very excited to get this album since I lost my CD many years ago, but I was already saddened 30 seconds into the Arabian Nights song where he they censored out "where they cut off your ear if they don't like your face" with some lame "where it's flat and immense and the heat is intense" (wtf?) I should have read the reviews before buying, I would have hunted out the true original CD!
That's the takeaway folks: you get the beauty of the soundtrack in straight 256kbps MP3 format and instantly, but you will lose the true original soundtrack. Frankly if Amazon would refund me I'd happily buy the original CD at the same price.
- We purchased this item on March 21, 2008, we got a email saying that they had our payment had been rec'd. We didn't receive it until April 19th. It appears to be in good working order.
- It's amazing that we are willing to pay for certain songs and they don't want to sell to us unless we buy the entire album! Very interested in "Friend Like Me" but unable to purchase.Aladdin
- What a very entertaining and fun soundtrack! Robin Williams is the delightful Genie and his wit and humor definitely come out in the character. Children and adults will both enjoy the music.
- I have no idea why there is only one song showing on the catalog page. There are 21 songs on this CD. They are:
1. 1:20 Arabian Nights
2. 1:25 Legend of the Lamp
3. 2:23 One Jump Ahead
4. 1:53 Street Urchins
5. 1:02 One Jump Ahead (reprise)
6. 2:26 Friend Like Me
7. 1:39 To Be Free
8. 2:51 Prince Ali
9. 2:42 A Whole New World
10. 2:43 Jafar's Hour
11. 1:07 Prince Ali (reprise)
12. 1:35 The Ends of the Earth
13. 1:51 The Kiss
14. 2:56 On a Dark Night
15. 0:47 Jasmine Runs Away
16. 2:37 Marketplace
17. 4:58 The Cave of Wonders
18. 1:52 Aladdin's Word
19. 3:40 The Battle
20. 4:16 Happy End in Agrabah
21. 4:06 A Whole New World (Aladdin's Theme)

- Great and easy transaction--fast shipping and product arrived in great condition. I would definitely recommend this seller!
- You can usually find this album for fairly little money, and it's well worth the purchase. I've never actually seen the film itself, but it does not have a good reputation, even as a cult film. Not so for this soundtrack, which plays a lot like somebody's personal mix tape of favorite songs. This is unusual, since I've noticed that a lot of soundtracks feature one or two good songs combined with a track list full of discarded songs from bands on the label's roster.
But not this one. Whoever compiled this for the film was really savvy, because there isn't much filler here at all. Some of the tracks are very radio friendly, like Electronic's "Disappointed" and Thrill Kill Kult's "Sex On Wheelz", which surpassed even Bowie's custom-composed title track and wound up being the music used to promote the film in trailers and TV spots. TKK kollectors should get this because they're on here twice, the second track being an otherwise unreleased track called "Her Sassy Kiss".
There are some interesting club cuts on here too, like Moby's "Next Is The E" and the rave classic "Papau New Guinea" by The Future Sound of London. One of the biggest surprises is the contribution from Thompson Twins, "Play With Me", which is a very solid club track. Twins member Tom Bailey also adds an atmospheric instrumental track called "Industry and Seduction", the only time he ever released a solo effort as such.
Even the tracks by artists that you might not recognize (like Pure's "Greedy", which doesn't even appear in the film) are worth a listen. Highly recommended!
- This CD brings back so many memories. It is filled with techo/dance music from the late 80's early 90's. If you like techno/house/dance club music then this is the perfect CD for you.
- One of the first techno/electronica soundtracks to gain prominence was the soundtrack to Ralph Bakshi's Cool World, which garnered mixed reviews. I'm ambivalent about it myself today, but my love of the soundtrack has not diminished, but actually gained higher levels of appreciation.
David Bowie leads off with "Real Cool World" in yet another one of his chameleonic incarnations. Even though clocking in at over five minutes, its quick-beat techno rhythm is not prolonged agony. It's the next track, the Thompson Twins' "Play With Me," my favorite by the way, that is unlike anything Tom Bailey and Alannah Currie have ever done. Sure, they ruled with Here's To Future Days, but in terms of keeping with the thematic sound and feeling of the movie, this song succeeds admirably. When are the Pet Shop Boys not the Pet Shop Boys? Answer: when Neil Tennant does lead vocals in "Disappointed," in his side project Electronic, also with Bernard Sumner and Johnny Marr. The hardest song is the Ministry's Psalm 69 song, "N.W.O." and that boosts the album as well. It's the next song, the Cult's "The Witch," which is unlike anything from the new-wavy Love or AC-DC crunch of Electric. There's an industrial buzzing punctuated by chords slightly reminiscent of Electric. Ian Astbury sounds muted by the fuzz and buzz of this song. Still worthwhile, though. Moby contributes two songs here, "Ah Ah" and "Next Is The E." This is early Moby at his best, and his triple figure BPM and soul-tinged female vocalist is in its best in "Next Is The E." "Do That Thang" out-kapow's "Next Is The E" in its energetic vivaciousness, hard guitar chords, funky vocals, electronic effects on overdrive chaos. I dare anyone to hear this song and not feel energized. Sassy is the key with My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, especially with the guitar crunchy "Sex On Wheelz," with its hard-driving vocals. "Her Sassy Kiss" is different, with whirly synthesizers and brassy inclusions. The last three songs belong to the ambient category, with Pure's "Greedy," Brian Eno's "Under" and Tom Bailey's sexy and seductive "Industry And Seduction," complete with grinding metal on rock, whizzing sounds, sirens, light whips, and panting. "Under" brings about the contemplative image of staring at the stars, with the neon lights aglitter below in the never sleeping city from a high floor apartment window. A case where the soundtrack is leagues more superior than the movie, and where the techno/industrial/ambient unity is achieved.
- I thought the movie was good, but this cd is great. It's pretty much a good sampler of early 90's electronica and industrial music. "David Bowie" starts with a song that's as good as anything he's done in the past 11 years. There's a couple early tracks from "Moby" that are sweet. The whole disc is suprisingly good, right to the last instrumental track, which jumps from speaker to speaker. But the real punch comes from "Ministry", "The Cult", and "My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult". Those three songs are awesome. If all soundtracks were this good, it really would be a "Cool World".

- I Love This Cd Is So Mucha Fun My Dad Love it Good
- I use to watch the reruns of this show all the time in 1995 when my family was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
Just about every familiar track you heard played on the show is accounted for here! With the exception of I think two that I can't remember. One of my favorite tracks has got to be the 1978 theme song. This track is played in its original format unlike the Cartoon Network / Adult Swim version. Like the Japanese show, the characters introduce themselves in the theme song played at the start. Part of the reason this anime series is so famous is because of the musical score. Each film, series, and television special is gifted with a unique soundtrack of sheer euphonic soul. Just like each song on this soundtrack is gifted beyond words. Most of the tracks are either soft and easy, smooth and sexy, fast-paced and exciting. The spirit of the 70's is as present here as Charlie's Angels. The soundtrack covers about the entire run of the show and then some. Sounds more exuberant and energetic than any James Bond film--and that; I feel is an understatement. Some people might be put off by the Japanese dialogue, which to me just adds to the authentic world of Lupin the 3rd. (Maybe I'm just open minded) Smart choice by Pioneer. I honestly thought they were going to put everything in English. You're not left in the dark too much because Pioneer was smart enough to give out English translated lyrics. If you listen to the dialogue while you read the translation, you will not only get a better understanding of what is being said; but you will hear the emotions being felt as well. Bottom Line: This is a masterpiece! When you are done reading this, buy this CD! Your life just might have more meaning. BUY IT NOW!!!

- I purchased this cd a while ago.
It has some of the music from the episodes that I've seen on cartoon network. There is charactor dialogue on some of the tracks --- BUT --- it's in japaneese. It's actually sort of annoying -- they laid it down over the top of track. It is sort of like the DJ that is talking over the intro of a song. One of my favorite tracks is missing ... the guitar music used when Lupin and the others are in the stadium in Rio. The cd has alot of remixes and deals with music from the series from the late 70's and 80's. The show did run from '67 -- 228 episodes, 8 feature length movies, 13 tv movies. (It's going to take a long time for them to translate all of that material) :-( I guess the producers wanted to capture the essence of the series but had to make omissions due to the shows evolution. Overall I got 3 tracks that I was familiar with. The one I really wanted wasn't there. Hope this helps

- We bought this CD to practice my daughter's dance recital number to the "MICKY MOUSE CLUB MARCH"...however after listening to the whole thing over and over and over we are totally in love with classics like "THe Bear Neccessities" and "Supercalifragilistic (SP?)....we love the songs from all our favorite Disney movies, and this CD showcases a lot of them! :) A total bargain for variety music that is appropriate for children and families alike.
- I purchased this to keep my kids occupied on vacation, and it performed beautifully! I can recommend it fully.
- I have the classic disney volume 2 audio cassette which is very rare this is a great collection of music. It has a lot of very old peices in it. Disney Did a great job at cleaning them up. It even has a peice from song of the south which most people dont even know what that movie is. I would say yes to by this item on cd or cassette. I give it five stars. Their was only one or two songs i disliked.
- My kids and I love to pop this into the CD player when we are on road trips together. We sing along and have a great time.
- I have a 16 month old granddaughter and she is not that excited about this CD. I think it would be great for an older child, there are less familiar songs and certainly not as catchy tunes on this CD. I really bought it because it had the Mickey Mouse Club March on it and I sing that to her all the time. She does enjoy that song!

- The Raymond Scott Orchestrette is a new group who set out to prove that Scott's music, which is often associated with Bugs Bunny cartoons, is more than just animation soundtrack fodder. They prove this conclusively and creatively. The group, recorded in 2001 (Scott passed away in 1994 at age 85), explores some of the maestro's better known works, like "Powerhouse" and "The Penguin," as well as lesser-known tunes like the impressionistic "A Street Corner in Paris" and the noir-dramatic "Naked City." The RSO also recorded an acoustic version of one of Scott's 1963 electronic lullabies for infants, "Little Miss Echo." The expert players draw from modern jazz, progressive rock, musette, swing, chamber music, and lounge grooves to paint a colorful and exciting canvas. Their arrangements are clever, dynamic, and iconoclastic, as well as being laced with sophisticated humor. Don Byron and the Beau Hunks Sextet have recorded Scott's early "Quintette" compositions in renditions that are faithful to the originals. The RS Orchestrette clearly had more ambitious intentions, and they have succeeded. This album deserves the attention of any fan of Raymond Scott -- and that audience is growing. More info about Scott can be found at RaymondScott.com. The RSO claims to "bring Scott's controlled lunacy into the 21st century." I'm sure the late composer would be proud to know younger musicians are keeping his legacy alive.
- OH! I am EXHAUSTED! Let me just catch my breath and I'll play that again! Reminds me of the scene in "Roger Rabbit" where the toons get out of the box. Nothing holds still for an instant! Okay, so Raymond is rolling in his grave. He probably needed the excercise! If you want to hear the purest version- get Raymond himself: The biggest- get the Beau Hunks' Chesterfield Arrangements. This is not for musicological purists but, how to say...this music blew my skirts up! GREAT Fun!
- This band has produced a pleasing recording of their own arrangements of Raymond Scott pieces. Most of the material is his well-known novelty music, while a few are based on his relatively obscure electronic music. This is a nice recording but not a vital one, unless one is a major Scott fan.
The band has a nice French cafe sound, effected by the accordion and zither, and the arrangements are jazzy and touch on a variety of styles, from cakewalk to early rock and roll to a John Barry/James Bond quality, and are all well done without being particularly exciting or adventurous. The mixing is a little dense, and the band is let down by a rather lugubrious drummer. My personal feeling is that Scott's work is crying out for a treatment a la what John Zorn did on the incredible 'The Big Gundown' for Ennio Morricone's movie themes. And while perfectly respectable, this is sadly not that type of work.
- I teach cartooning to fresh young minds (ages 12 and under) and they are always blown away when I update their inspiring music repetoire with this gem. Way ahead of its time and timeless all at once, Raymond Scott created a wild and weirdly fabulous off-kilter cartoon filter. His music doesn't age it gets more vivid with subsequent playings. Worth every penny.
- Despite the confusing and misleading name of this new group, Scott himself is NOT present. Of course not - Raymond Scott was born in 1908 and died many years ago. And DON'T think this band is preserving the ORIGINAL Raymond Scott sound (like the Sun Ra or Glenn Miller bands that still tour). Instead, this "Orchestrette" (sic) performs modernized and altered arrangements that Raymond Scott probably would have hated. (Scott didn't like improvisation - especially when applied to HIS music.) But maybe some hard-core fans might dig these new takes on the old Scott classics? The players are impressive enough; they're not afraid to take chances, and I bet this group is fun to see in a live venue. But since there's plenty of original Raymond Scott recordings, I'd suggest a beginner start with the real thang, baby.

1 comments about Hey, It's Franklin.
- As of December 2005, "Hey, It's Franklin!" is the only soundtrack release in a series that deserves so much more.
"Hey, It's Franklin!" is a wonderful mix of songs from the stage show "Franklin's Big Adventure" and songs from the movie "Franklin and the Green Knight." These songs feature all sorts of styles and most are vocal, but there's one nice instrumental piece.
This soundtrack has plenty of excellent tunes. It begins with "Hey, It's Franklin!" the main show title theme, remixed from "Franklin's Big Adventure." If you're at all familiar with Franklin the turtle, you'll probably be familiar with this catchy theme --- "Growin' a little, every day / Here he comes with all his friends..."
There are many other great tracks, so I'll touch on my absolute favorites from "Franklin's Big Adventure," before analyzing the tracks from "Franklin and the Green Knight," which I all absolutely love.
"What I Do in the Morning" is a fun, upbeat song about, well --- the things Franklin does in the morning. Possibly the cutest line is this --- "The next thing the morning / I really love to do / Is kiss and hug my Mommy --- I think Daddy likes it too!" The cheerful, repetitive refrain of "2 4 6 8 / Sunny skies all day!" carries the song.
Then there's "Friends," a sweet duet with Franklin and Snail. "Dum-da-diddle, dum-diddle-i... Eat ice cream from the corner store / Go on back if you want some more!" A sweet theme about friendship.
"Come See the World" is the absolute standout of the "Franklin's Big Adventure" tracks. This song is #10 on the soundtrack, but I imagine probably plays at the very beginning of the stage show (which I've never had the fortune of seeing.) This is magical song that invites listeners to --- "Open your eyes and prepare to be dazzled / We'll have you asking for more! / We'll take you on the wildest adventures / Come see the world like you've never before."
Finally, of the "Franklin's Big Adventure" tunes, there's the "Rainforest Song," which is interestingly titled because the lyrics within refer to "goin' to the jungle." This is wild tune that encourages the listeners to hoot like monkeys and hiss like snakes.
Then, there's the music from "Franklin and the Green Knight." It starts out with "I Wonder." This is another Franklin and Snail song, but it's a sort-of slow, contemplative piece in which Franklin and Snail struggle with the issues they're facing now that Franklin is about to become a big brother. "Brothers and Sisters" is a much more upbeat number in which Franklin and his friends Bear, Beaver and Goose consider what it would be like for Franklin to have a little brother or sister. Beaver is rather down on the idea, but Franklin comes to the conclusion that he would love his new baby brother or sister no matter what. Finally, the two-part "Wake Up Spring" features Franklin and his friends in search of Spring, in the hope that it will bring Franklin's new sibling. These both start out as cheerful numbers with singing in chorus and even music made by tapping on Franklin's shell, but when they can't find signs of Spring, the mood turns a bit sad.
The other tunes are new takes on classic children's themes --- "The Wheels on the Bus," "Head and Shoulders" and "The Hokey Pokey." These are actually all fairly nice edits and "The Wheels on the Bus" in particular is downright fun, with some great lines from the spunky Beaver.
It's worth noting that on the "Big Adventure" tracks, some of the voices sound a lot different because they do, of course, feature the cast from the stage show rather than the television series. Most listeners should pick up fairly quickly though on whose who. This is essential listening for all "Franklin" fans and a great CD for car-trips or any other such occasion you can think of.

- The CD arrived in good time and was of excellent quality for a used product.
- This CD is a wonderful collection of some 25(!) of the most beloved Disney hits. Indeed, the songs on this CD are all songs from the great Disney movies that you remember from your childhood. There's "Someday My Prince Will Come" from Snow White, "Colonel Hathi's March" from the Jungle Book, and "Chim Chim Cher-ee" from Mary Poppins. What's also wonderful is that the hits are from the great Disney movies right up to the present, with such songs as "Beauty and the Beast" from the movie of the same title.
My whole family loves these songs, and often sings along with them. As a wonderful bonus, we were not aware of "Minnie's Yoo Hoo!" which sounds like a 1920s, snappy little tune, and my children often play it twice and even three times in a row.
Buy this CD you won't regret it!
- I purchased this to keep my kids occupied on vacation, and it performed beautifully! I can recommend it fully.
- I have all 5 CD's and it is an awesome collection! All of my favorite songs are on the 5 CD's and every Disney fan like I am should have this collection!
- There isn't one single song from the 1977 classic "The Rescuers" included in this collection, I don't see why Disney chose not to include any of those songs which are all gorgeous, when they did include unmemorable and weak songs instead, I've seen these CD's with songs that aren't half as good as "Tomorrow is Another Day," "The Journey," "Someone's Waiting for You" or "Rescue Aid Society."
Very disappointing, The Rescuers is a fine Disney classic and it should be included with all of the others.
