5 comments about The Simpsons Sing the Blues.

  1. Hi, all. I liked this album. Sibling Riverly reminds me of stuff me and my brother does (but, we aren't brother and sister, we are brother and brother).

  2. I have always enjoyed this album, ever since its release. It keeps the humor of the show but adds well-produced music to the mix.

While "Do The Bartman" "Deep Deep Trouble" and "Moaning Lisa Blues" are familiar from their association and airings with The Simpsons, it is the original tracks that catch my ear each time.

"Look At All Those Idiots" is such a fun song, with Mr. Burns and Smithers making funny quips over and in between the music.

"Born Under A Bad Sign" is hilariously bad, with Homer trying to put some "soul" into it. The ending is very funny as Homer trails off trying to come up with his own Blues singer name.

The other tracks take themselves a little more seriously, but are very pleasant to listen too. Buy the album already, since they haven;t released "Simpsons Boogie" "Lovely To Love Your Lovin'"or "Simpson Christmas Boogie" yet.

  3. My english is very basic, but what I think this is the better combination...Simpsons and blues...great songs !!!

  4. I'm probably the biggest Simpson fan in my town (Belgrade - Serbia),that's the reason I bought this album. I got it about two years ago,and I can still listen to it. This album is funny, but still there's a harmony in songs. I'll rate every single track:

    1. Do the Bartman - They made a video for this song. Funny track, great for rap fans. 4/5
    2. School day - Good cover. Very enjoyable song. 4/5
    3. Born under a bad sign - One of my favorites. 5/5
    4. Moanin' Lisa blues - This song appeared in show, actually. Good, but not that great. 3/5
    5. Deep deep trouble - First time I heard it,I was impressed. But it became a bit boring. 4/5
    6. God bless the child - Lisa's voice is excellent here. I also like the apearence of Bleeding gums Murphy. 5/5
    7. I love to see you smile - A romantic track. Marge's bad voice brought this song down a bit. 4/5
    8. Springfield soul stew - This is interesting. I love the way they ended this song - with Lisa on sax! 5/5
    9. Look at all those idiots - My favorite track! Hilarious lyrics and an amazing guitar solo. 5/5
    10. Sibling rivalry - Great way to end this album. A song by Bart and Lisa, funny lyrics here. 5/5

I recomend this to everyone who likes "The Simpsons".
    Great CD.

  5. The simpsons is one of the most famous t.v shows ever they released tons of stuff, dvds and more but they also made music albums and this was their first one they did.`the simpsons sing the blues`was released in 1990 at the time of the first season.

The simpsons arent really talented singers but they did put on a nice effort with this c.d it would be a comedy -funny music style this isnt music that are hits but i think some songs should be heared like m.r burns`s `look at all those idiots`some funny quotes are there for all lenght of the c.d.

Simpsons fans would love to hear bart`s song like`do the bartman`and some other songs. If you are a simpson fan you would might like their music or at least find it funny. The c.d is actually cheap i bought it for 10 bucks like 6 years ago.I dont think that the title matches the album`s songs its mixed songs here.

Fans of the simpsons might want to check it out ,a pretty old release but still good. While i am not a fan of this kind of music i think its a nice effort with some things to check out i recomend it to simpson fans and i also recomend `songs in the key of springfield`something like that to the fans.
i am not really a fan of this kind of music but as a simpson fan i had to like it.

5 comments about Classic Disney, Vol. 1: 60 Years of Musical Magic.

  1. The CD arrived in good time and was of excellent quality for a used product.

  2. This CD is a wonderful collection of some 25(!) of the most beloved Disney hits. Indeed, the songs on this CD are all songs from the great Disney movies that you remember from your childhood. There's "Someday My Prince Will Come" from Snow White, "Colonel Hathi's March" from the Jungle Book, and "Chim Chim Cher-ee" from Mary Poppins. What's also wonderful is that the hits are from the great Disney movies right up to the present, with such songs as "Beauty and the Beast" from the movie of the same title.

My whole family loves these songs, and often sings along with them. As a wonderful bonus, we were not aware of "Minnie's Yoo Hoo!" which sounds like a 1920s, snappy little tune, and my children often play it twice and even three times in a row.

Buy this CD you won't regret it!

  3. I purchased this to keep my kids occupied on vacation, and it performed beautifully! I can recommend it fully.

  4. I have all 5 CD's and it is an awesome collection! All of my favorite songs are on the 5 CD's and every Disney fan like I am should have this collection!

  5. There isn't one single song from the 1977 classic "The Rescuers" included in this collection, I don't see why Disney chose not to include any of those songs which are all gorgeous, when they did include unmemorable and weak songs instead, I've seen these CD's with songs that aren't half as good as "Tomorrow is Another Day," "The Journey," "Someone's Waiting for You" or "Rescue Aid Society."

Very disappointing, The Rescuers is a fine Disney classic and it should be included with all of the others.

  1. Excellent music for young children in the car. I pick up my 4 year old and 1 year old granddaughters from day care once a week and they look forward to this Disney music on the ride home. We all sing along.

  2. I would hardly call songs from Hercules, Hunchback, and Mulan "Disney's Greatest." I had forgotten they'd even made a Hunchback movie and I doubt my son will ever watch it. But he loves listening to the songs he recognizes, and hearing Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious made him want to watch Mary Poppins.

We bought this CD because he loves the song "Cruella de Vil" although I was a little disappointed because it's about 3 1/2 minutes of piano and only about a minute of actual singing. At least it's the original version from the movie and not some Disney pop tart.

  3. I'm a music lover, I bought this CD's mainly for the childrens, weekend's the childrens will visit me. And I want them to enjoy good music especially the Disney movie music and songs. I'm a great fans of Walt Disney's and of course he's talented and gifted. Well, last but not least this CD's is good and I have no regret bought it.

  4. I LOVE classic Disney films and movies, and when I bought this CD with some birthday money, I was not making a mistake. If you want an affordable CD with a good amount of songs that you are probably familiar with (if you watch Disney films), this is a good buy. Soon after I bought this one, I added the 2nd volume to my collection, and finally the 3rd. Obviously they don't have all the Disney songs, but these CD's put together have just about every song to make every person in the family happy. There are songs that even my dad and mom like to listen to in the car on trips. This is worth your money!

  5. This cd is great! It has a great variety of classic Disney music! Highly reccomended.

5 comments about Aladdin.

  1. I was very excited to get this album since I lost my CD many years ago, but I was already saddened 30 seconds into the Arabian Nights song where he they censored out "where they cut off your ear if they don't like your face" with some lame "where it's flat and immense and the heat is intense" (wtf?) I should have read the reviews before buying, I would have hunted out the true original CD!

That's the takeaway folks: you get the beauty of the soundtrack in straight 256kbps MP3 format and instantly, but you will lose the true original soundtrack. Frankly if Amazon would refund me I'd happily buy the original CD at the same price.

  2. We purchased this item on March 21, 2008, we got a email saying that they had our payment had been rec'd. We didn't receive it until April 19th. It appears to be in good working order.

  3. It's amazing that we are willing to pay for certain songs and they don't want to sell to us unless we buy the entire album! Very interested in "Friend Like Me" but unable to purchase.Aladdin

  4. What a very entertaining and fun soundtrack! Robin Williams is the delightful Genie and his wit and humor definitely come out in the character. Children and adults will both enjoy the music.

  5. I have no idea why there is only one song showing on the catalog page. There are 21 songs on this CD. They are:

    1. 1:20 Arabian Nights
    2. 1:25 Legend of the Lamp
    3. 2:23 One Jump Ahead
    4. 1:53 Street Urchins
    5. 1:02 One Jump Ahead (reprise)
    6. 2:26 Friend Like Me
    7. 1:39 To Be Free
    8. 2:51 Prince Ali
    9. 2:42 A Whole New World
    10. 2:43 Jafar's Hour
    11. 1:07 Prince Ali (reprise)
    12. 1:35 The Ends of the Earth
    13. 1:51 The Kiss
    14. 2:56 On a Dark Night
    15. 0:47 Jasmine Runs Away
    16. 2:37 Marketplace
    17. 4:58 The Cave of Wonders
    18. 1:52 Aladdin's Word
    19. 3:40 The Battle
    20. 4:16 Happy End in Agrabah
    21. 4:06 A Whole New World (Aladdin's Theme)

5 comments about Dragon Tales.

  1. I love it. The music is so good and give it five. Fun for all kids.

  2. Our daughter loves dancing and playing to the songs on this disc. It's upbeat for her and not too sugary or chirpy for us. Tons of good beats to encourage a developing sense of rhythm and movement. Excellent for playtime!

  3. This is a great children's CD from the Dragon Tales series. It has the original songs on it (ones my 6-year-old grew up on). We play this CD over and over and never seem to tire of it. It's our favorite CD - even my 2-year-old loves it.

  4. If you or your children like the music played on the Dragon Tales show, this CD is a must! I must admit that I bought if for myself because I was sick of the same old "Wheels on the bus" "Old McDonald" type music that is marketed for kids. But once my son heard it the first time, he asked for it again and again and again. It's very upbeat (with the exception of a couple of mellower songs) so it's a great CD to get out the kids energy. Highly recommend it!

  5. I got this cd for my son during about three years ago on a vacation. He was three back then. He's almost six now, and he still loves listening to it, and so do we, his parents. No matter how many times we listen to it, it never gets boring, and we even got my 1 1/2 year old nephew into it. My son's favorite song on this one is "Cassie." Mom and Dad like "Hello," "Doodli-Do," "Wake Up" and "Hum."

  1. This CD is a wonderful collection of some 25(!) of the most beloved Disney hits. Indeed, the songs on this CD are all songs from the great Disney movies that you remember from your childhood. There's "The Bare Necessities" from The Jungle Book, "Supercalifragilisticexpialdocious" from Mary Poppins, and "So This Is Love" from Cinderella. What's also wonderful is that the hits are from all of the Disney greats like Beauty And The Beast, Aladdin, and The Little Mermaid.

My whole family loves these songs, and often sings along with them. I have several personal favorites from this album, including "So This Is Love" and "Candle On The Water." But, heck, I love them all!

So, what's the final verdict? Buy this CD you won't regret it!

  2. We bought this CD to practice my daughter's dance recital number to the "MICKY MOUSE CLUB MARCH"...however after listening to the whole thing over and over and over we are totally in love with classics like "THe Bear Neccessities" and "Supercalifragilistic (SP?)....we love the songs from all our favorite Disney movies, and this CD showcases a lot of them! :) A total bargain for variety music that is appropriate for children and families alike.

  3. I purchased this to keep my kids occupied on vacation, and it performed beautifully! I can recommend it fully.

  4. I have the classic disney volume 2 audio cassette which is very rare this is a great collection of music. It has a lot of very old peices in it. Disney Did a great job at cleaning them up. It even has a peice from song of the south which most people dont even know what that movie is. I would say yes to by this item on cd or cassette. I give it five stars. Their was only one or two songs i disliked.

  5. My kids and I love to pop this into the CD player when we are on road trips together. We sing along and have a great time.

5 comments about Fooly Cooly OST 1: Addict.

  1. The music to Fooly Cooly is nice. I like many of the songs by the pillows. I really enjoy Ride A Shooting Star and Little Busters. The one star removed is not because of anything bad. It is just that I don't love the CD. I just like it - therefore, four stars only.

  2. Fooly Cooly had an amazing deal with the Pillows who provided amazing music for them and it shows on these soundtracks. This is a good album but it lacks a bit. Though I think Vol.2 is better this is still a hot album. For one it only gives you a taste of "Last Dinosaur" on the first track, it only lasts about 20 seconds. Of course "Ride on shooting star" is hot and it will definitely get you into the CD. After that there are very nice songs like "Hybrid Rainbow" and a lot of Pillows instrumentals. The instrumentals are hot don't get me wrong but Sawao has a great voice and I would have loved to have heard it instead of just the music. I got the second volume first because a friend told me that the songs were better. If you're like me and did this then you'll be happy to know that the Drama's aren't on here so there's more room for more music. "Little Busters" is also very nice, I love the hook and "Instant Music" is also one of my favorites. I think that the FLCL soundtracks are amazing and The Pillows are an amazing band that gives great quality music on this album. I only take away a star for the instrumentals which I wish had Sawao on them and that's a personal preference because some people may like them the way they are but this album is still very worth it.

  3. I actually saw FLCL after being introduced to The Pillows, which is a bit backwards. It's partly because of this that I have issues with the soundtrack. While supplying you with the superb music of The Pillows and some Shinkichi Mitsumune, there are some problems with the CD.

For one thing, there are numerous soundtracks. It gets VERY confusing as to which one has what songs. Some soundtracks have the same songs, but different versions.

That's the main problem, though. This, being a soundtrack, only provides us with the glimpses we got from the show as opposed to the full songs by The Pillows themselves. While still nice, thirty second clips are not too substantial. A few songs are long and full, but for the most part, it's quick and short.

Really, if you just watched the show, then this is a good album to purchase. You liked the music and you want to hear it again, here's your buy. For Pillows fans: turn elsewhere.

  4. Hmm, FLCL, what a great way to start to become a Pillows fan. Without this amazing anime, I would never of met one of my now favorite bands. Though that's how many americans met them.

This CD features much of the music from FLCL, and really gave the show it's good feel, but I'm going to break this down. The FLCL Soundtracks are basically a mix of many of The Pillows past work. It features many different types of music that they can play as well, which shows their creaitivity in music. They also bring a whole heartedly good feel to it as well. From the haunting song Stalker Goes To Babylon (From their 2nd Compliation, Another Morning, Another Pillows, which came out in 2002) to the Japanese equse Bran-New Lovesong (From their 1999 album Runner's High) , there's a lot of variety and a lot to love.

Basically many songs from their 5th album through their 8th album are on this and the other cd. A few of which are tweaked slightly , like Advice, which was originally a little lighter with Sawao using a funny english accent to even funnier lyrics. And also Runner's High. However many of the songs were cut so they aren't the original verison. Don't start thinking these guys are an instrumental band by any means, they aren't. Well, yes they do have instruamental songs, but most of the songs on here are or were with lyrics in them. A few songs that were changed include Carnival, my personal favorite of theirs and they basically took out the lyrics and cut it down so it was only a minute or so long, compared to the original 4 and a half minute song, and Stalker wasn't really cut down, but the lyrics were taken out.

However this CD doesn't just feature The Pillows, it also has the works of Shinkichi Mitsumune, who uses syntesiers combined with actul insturments to create some very nice songs. Including the somber Rever's Edge to the poppy Pink.

This CD is a great CD, if not the best way to introduce yourself to The Pillows. It'll be helpful in your choosing of wheater or not you want to own more of their CDs, and definatly shows their amazing variety.

  5. Knowing that there are probably not a lot of FOOLY COOLY fans out there I think that this soundtrack is AMAZING. The music in the series went perfect with the story. The music in the bacjround of a animated show should be uplifting and make you want to dance or hear it again. that is why I rated the soundtrack 5 out of 5. I also think it is a perfect deal for CD ADDICT and CD KING OF PIRATES, because byou would all the tracks from the show.AMAZING

5 comments about Scooby-Doo's Snack Tracks: The Ultimate Collection.

  1. We got the CD when promised and it exact condition as promised. Thank you! The songs on this CD are more the classic Scooby songs which was a perfect complement to our other Scooby CD for my son's 5th birthday party (a Scooby Doo Mystery party).

  2. Believe me when I tell you that I probaly love "original" Scooby Doo songs more than any one on the planet. That is why I was slightly dissapointed by this CD. The problem is that it included most of the songs from the original series sung by Danny Janssen, except for "I Can Make You Happy" and "Pretty Mary Sunlight". Those songs were awesome in a Beatles-esque type of way. Instead they used the versions by Davy Jones and Jerry reed wich are basicaly dry solo songs instead good of band music. There was more than enough space on the Cd for both versions of each. They put every type of Scooby Doo theme song available though (go figure). This CD is probably worth getting just for the song "Tell Me Tell Me" and a few others(kids will love it). It Shouldn't be called the "Ultimate Collectoion" without those two Janssen songs though, because they were some of the most memorable songs from my childhood(and a whole lot of other Generation X ers). I think that I'll write the Cartoon Network and have them release the platinum edition, which should include every type of scooby do song ever made from 1969-2008 including a crappy hip hop version of the theme song for the youth of today lol:)

  3. We played this in the car on our vacation and our two girls loved it for the most part. They remember the songs and could sing along. They just love Scooby.

  4. This CD features music from various Scooby-Doo shows. Of course, the theme songs are all here. There are also some bubblegum songs that played on the original show during the chase scenes. Remember the show where the Scooby Gang teamed with a guest-star every week? Well, the songs sung by guest-stars Jerry Reed and Davy Jones are here. The songs from the later shows are mostly sung by Scooby and his pals, and are rather silly. The CD ends with a fun dance mix of Scooby-Doo music and quotes. A lot of the music on this CD isn't particularly good, but it's a fun nostalgia trip.

  5. My package was recieved more than on time and exactly as it was advertized. Thank you, you made a 4 year old little boy's day.

5 comments about The Carl Stalling Project, Volume 2: More Music From Warner Bros. Cartoons 1939-1957.

  1. Are the names Mel Blanc, I. Freleng or Chuck Jones familiar to you? Then you will get a charge out of these albums as they remind you of Warner Brothers cartoons you saw. I even used these albums instead of "spooky music" for the trick-or-treaters at Halloween, and got appreciative comments from the parents who recognized the music. Definitely worth the price of admission.

  2. As well as Stalling Project Part I, These recordings are more modern fidelity, less classic and more musical techniques. The improvisations appreciate me more than Part I. I like all tracks especially one from "Zoom and Bored" Salute Maestro!!!!
    jlipipun

  3. More music from Warner Brother Cartoons 1936 to 1958.
Carl Stalling was one of the foremost composers of music for cartoons and wrote virtually all of the scores for Warner Brothers cartoons from 1936 to 1958. This is a compilation of some complete soundtracks and other snippets. In my opinion, this disk is not quite as well done as "The Carl Stalling Project Volume I."

  4. I really did like the slice-and-dice format of the first disc : I think it helped keep that cartoon zaniness without the visuals. I would recommend both volumes - I listen to them alot while I'm programming!

  5. Carl Stalling. We all know who he is, but we don't know that we know. Who is he? The guy who did cartoon background music for Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies for more than 20 years, that's who. Maybe you're thinking, "Oh, come on! Cartoon background music??! How good could something so trivial be?!" The answer to that question is.. VERY. Very entertaining. I just love Carl Stalling's great "scores". When you take away the context of it's being CARTOON music and just sit and listen to the damn thing, it's WONDERFUL music in and of itself! He goes from violins and a piano playing "agitato" simultaneously to a single oboe note and back again in five seconds. Not only that. He does that and, as random as it may sound, he mannages to segue it together beautifully. Now, every time I watch cartoons, the thing I pay most attention to is what aural miracles Mr. Stalling sneaked in. Maybe, after listening to this, you will too. If anything will change after you listen to this, it would be that you'll never think of cartoon music as trivial again........That's a GOOD thing.

5 comments about Brak Presents The Brak Album Starring Brak.

  1. I love the Brak show so I thought this cd would be amazing. I sadly skimped over the fact that it is "children's music" so with that known some of the songs easily get annoying... which never happens on the show.

  2. This is the soundtrack to a TV special called "Brak Presents The Brak Show Starring Brak". Brak was a character on Space Ghost Coast to Coast. He is known for his extreme stupidity. On this album, he sings a bunch of silly, moronic songs, which are actually rather funny. He has several special guests helping him out, including cartoon characters Zorak, Grape Ape and Wally Gator. Some real people guest star too, including Irish folk music group the Chieftains, actor Freddie Prinze Jr. and wrestler Diamond Dallas Page. It you liked Space Ghost Coast to Coast, you will probably enjoy this CD. If you never saw that show, you will most likely be baffled by this CD.

  3. I heard "Highway 40" on XMKids channel in XM Satellite Radio and the kids and I can't get it out of my head. I'm buying this immediately!!! Lil' Jimmy and Ramone will sing along with glee!

  4. Well, I don't know where to start. This is a great album if you happen to like ex-convict singing cartoon cat-like creatures from outer space. I happen to be in that small, vociferous minority who does, and find this album to be wholesomely strange and depraved. Any CD with songs like "Beeflog," "Big Fat Squid," and my personal favorite, the haunting "Magic Toenail," is worth a listen in my book.

Ostensibly this is for kids, but adult fans of Space Ghost will be just as comfortable (yet strangely uncomfortable) listening to Brak sing, sometimes accompanied by the Brakettes.

One thing's for sure: this CD is certainly like no other. Listen and enjoy.

  5. The humor on this album is sublime. We got it as a gift a couple of years ago and never listened to it. My 4 yo son discovered it and made me play it for him and I just cracked up! We've been listening to it several times a day for the past month and I still haven't tired of it. My 1 yo loves the music and just rocks out and my 8 yo likes figuring out the more subtle jokes. Fun for the whole family!
