1. I'm not sure if I like this one more than my daughter or not. I highly recommend this out of all of the "Baby Genius" music product. It's very relaxing, and seems to do it's job. It's an excellant selection of music to soothe at all the right times.



2. This CD has become a bedtime and naptime ritual for our son, age 3. We have had it for about one year and he requests it by name as a preference for helping him go to sleep. He has also become interested in this "Beethoven guy" and makes some associations between Beethoven, Bach and Mozart as being humans beings and guys who write music. As for increasing his intelligence as suggested on the CD, well, who knows, but it is definitely an improvement over the "kiddie" music we first introduced and which he completely rejected. It is a very pleasant, well-engineered and performed recording.

1. Wow, the reviewer who said parents would be annoyed were RIGHT on the button. This is only the third time I've *had* to listen to this CD and I'm already ready to chuck it into the trash. It's Ok when the kids are just singing as themselves, but in way too many of the songs the kids are faking English accents (why?)-- very annoying when it's not your own kid. :)



2. This is a big favorite of our 3 year old during car trips. It keeps her occupied, and singing along. She probably is more inclined to sing along as the singers on the CD are children, rather than adults.



3. Our son, who is 7 months old, is mesmerized by this CD. The first day we received this CD I played it in the car while we were out running errands and he was quiet the whole time. Just last week while driving home our son was getting fussy (because I was listening to talk radio) so I popped in the CD and he was quiet the rest of the way home - this alone would motivate me to buy another one.

   The songs are fun, after playing it non-stop most everytime were in the car, I'm still not tired of it. I enjoy listening/hearing the different dialects of the children and the songs are fun and entertaining.

   I envision, as our son gets older, we'll sing these songs together in the car and that will make the CD even more enjoyable for both of us. But right now, anything that keeps him happy and entertained in the car gets an A+ in my book.




4. My 2 year old daughter loves this CD. The songs are fun and easy to dance to. The nursery rhymes are familiar and my daughter enjoys reciting the lyrics and hearing them over and over and over again. This is definitely a great alternative to television and makes playtime much more fun! Your kids will love it.



5. This CD is packed with all the familiar songs that we have grown to love. What makes it different from the rest is that there are children themselves singing the songs. I teach dance classes for children and my little ones (3 and 4 yr. old) love this CD. I would recommend this one for the younger children that enjoy music and want to sing along.

1. I enjoyed singing to my twin boys but needed some assistance, (I had forgotten many of the lyrics etc) so we started looking for nursery rhymes on CD. After reading the reviews of this and others, we decided that this CD was the one to buy, particularly as the songs are sung by children and not modernized (like many of the other CDs for nursery rhymes available at Amazon). I was a little concerned about the religious songs on it, but now that we have it and have listened to it almost every day, I have no problems with the 3 or 4 religious songs, in fact one of the songs is very catchy. Overall I am very happy with this CD and the songs are well sung by children and you can't beat the price. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is I wish it had more songs on it rather than simply repeating the 25 songs to fill the CD and ideally perhaps not the religious songs, but really if you don't like them, you can always skip them.



2. I listened through about a dozen previewable CDs on Amazon before I decided to purchase this one for my niece. What I liked about this CD is that all the songs were sang by kids - kids who can sing very well. I really don't like it when adult singers alter kid songs to be more modern, adding pop, country or rock tone to them. Those just don't sound right for toddlers. The songs on this CD really put you in a good mood - they carry very happy beats and tunes. My niece loved it. Even my mom has asked me to buy her one!



3. We received this recording as a gift and have really enjoyed it. You may notice that the songs are listed twice, giving you about 50 tracks. The second recording of each song is made available in split-track, which means the music is in one speaker and the children singing are in another. If you adjust your stereo balance to only include the music, you can sing along without the children's voices in the background. As a new parent, I've never seen this anywhere else but on Beatles records, so I thought it was kinda neat. Happy singing!



4. I heard them online and thougt it would be good for my daughter and I was right. This CD contains Children singing very clearly and the music is a clasic. This is a great CD for anywhere. My daughter listens to this CD and the Preschool Tunes and Silly Songs CD's constantly.



5. This has been my daughter's favorite CD since she was fourteen months old. She loves to dance and go through the hand motions for the songs. She gets really excited when she hears the first song and dances all the way through to the last. I lost the CD at one point and came right back to Amazon.com to buy a replacement. It's a must in our house!

1. As a professional musician, I am always seeking great recordings for my 20 month old son. Since his birth, we have listened to this CD for quiet times and rest/sleep (it is soothing for us as parents too). I have purchased this CD multiple times to give as gifts to new parents. It is a favorite of ours!



2. This CD is right up there with the "things we can't do without" along with his blanket and pacifier. My son (now 17 months) has been using this CD since birth to help him go to sleep, and listens to it at every nap and before bed, and is one of the most important of our bedtime rituals. I am a music teacher, and I like that this CD uses the real songs (such as Twinkle Twinkle and Brahms' Lullaby) in the real instrumentation -- not synthesized like so many other children's CD's out there. It calms him down whenever he is sick or upset, and it also calms me down, too! THis is a must for every parent.

1. I bought this item because my son loves to be sung to and I was running out of songs! He is only 4 months old and loved this CD, I would sing along with it and he would smile from ear to ear. The CD is titled Baby's First Nursery Rhymes but the songs are great for all ages. I loved it too! Plus you can't beat the price.



2. I purchased this CD with a collection of other Baby's First and my twins absolutely LOVE the music. I purchased them when they were 9 months old and now at 1 year, they still start bouncing up and down when we play them. It always works when they start to get fussy--especially in the car on long road trips. Mom and Dad enjoy singing a long.



3. Both my children enjoy this CD so much. Whenever there tried and craby I just put this CD on and they both get so happy. I
   highly recommend this CD to parents who are in the car often.



4. Being a strict purist when it comes to the classic nursery rhymes, I was very disappointed when I listened to this CD. Not only do none of the songs sound like the original nursery rhymes, they all sound the same. Sadly, I found that the tune the artist chose became irritating after a few songs. Additionally, the songs do not blend well together. They come to abrupt end and then there is a brief pause or break in between each number. If you really want your child to learn nursery rhymes, you may prefer to order Baby Genius's Favorite Nursery Rhymes, (which maintains the purity of the original) or Bananas in Pajamas, It's Singing Time, A Collection of Nursery Rhymes (which incorporates some fun while teaching the nursery rhymes.)

1. I got this for my daughter when she was 10 months old. After listening to it every day for nearly three months, she and I both still love it. The songs are a lot of fun and easy to sing along with. Joanie Bartels has a very pleasant voice, as well. Nothing annoying or weird on this CD to drive parents crazy. Of the multitude of children's CDs we own, this is by far my favorite.



2. My wife's favorite Dance CD for our 17 month old son. We listen to it at the gym class he goes to and he really gets into the rythms. Fun CD for kids.

1. I bought this cd to help refresh my memory on the songs I sang as a child so I can sing to my newborn. I enjoy it more than my baby. I've heard some children's music that makes me want to pull my hair, but this one is not that kind.



2. This cd is very good and not at all annoying. My children really enjoy it. I don't mind listening to it over and over, either, unlike some other cds for children. Children sing some of the beginnings of songs, but the song itself is sung by adults. A bargain and a keeper.
