1. I have listened to this cd a few times now. It is okay, but I am beginning to find it a little annoying as it "sticks" with you all day long.



2. Although the song selection is good, there is too much instrumental music for children and the quality of the music is good, but isn't targeted to kids. The versions are different than the typical nursery rhymes that kids hear.



3. We tried this music based on the strong Parents Choice award and the good reviews, and we were not disappointed. Too many children's lullabied CD's are only so-so in quality. Not this one. The songs are very well made and do not get annoying after extended listending.

   The music is more on the mellow side, which is great for children four and under. It's perfect for a quiet ride home or just for exposing your kids to some really special nursery rhymes. Our kids have loved these songs.

   Every child should grow up with classics like "Itsy, Bitsy Spider," "Rock-A-Bye Baby" and "It's Raining It's Pouring."

   This is a quality recording at a good price. You can't go wrong with this - especially at this reasonable price.




4. My 4 month old just loves the music on this CD. Whenever she hears it she listens intently and gets all excited. If she's fussy this CD immediately quiets her down. I believe she like the sounds of the instruments played in the music and the tempo of the songs. I highly recommend it for any baby.



5. One of the toughest things to do when selecting a music CD for your baby is trying to find one that you don't mind listening to. This is one like that. While driving in the car, if you are alone, it's difficult to pacify your child since they're in their safety seat. One way to do it is with this CD. My son loves listening to it and will often immediately quiet down as soon as we start playing it. The musical quality of the nursery rhymes is excellent. Highly, highly recommended.

1. I bought this to entertain my grandchildren when they come to play. We all enjoy the songs very much. It is a well-rounded collection of most familiar nursery rhymes.



2. While this CD is a good value, you will pay for it in other ways. The singing is so sugary and fake one listening is all an adult or older child can bear. It instantly reminded me of Barney. However, younger children should enjoy the music and the songs are well chosen so if you can tolerate a bubble-gum sing-song style (like Barney) this may be a good option for you. I will stick with Raffi, which is always a good choice if you want something upbeat and cheerful, yet genuine.



3. when my daughter was an infant this music soothed her and she'd fall right to sleep. now that she's a toddler she's singing along. you can't beat this cd for home or the car and only [very inexpensive]

1. I have to say, the narration for this recording is the best I've ever heard. With his lively, comical, entertaining, and emphatic voice, Dennis Doubin puts the recordings of Bernstein and Sting to shame. Hearing the story, told by Dennis, will spark imagination in children of all ages. The recording of "Carnival of the Animals" is also outstanding. The two pianists are absolutely amazing. I am very pleased with this recording and highly recommend it to all interested.



2. What a moron. Her claim is invalid!!! The balance is wonderful, and the narration comes across perfectly. My kids, ages 5 and 7 adore the CD, and request it before breakfast, lunch, and bedtime. They especially love the boy narrator. I recommend this CD to music lovers, young and old.



3. I bought this album for my kids for Christmas at a local store. Boy was I irked! There is no narration! How can an album claim to contain Peter and the Wolf, be listed as music for children, and not have this essential ingredient? This orchestral performances are fine, but it ought to be clearly advertised as not being narrated. I bought the Sting version as a replacement, and it is much better.



4. My sister-in-law introduced me to this cd and my kids loved it, I loved it as well. It's a fun way to intorduce classical music to children and they will learn to love classical music. for parents who love classical music and have children who don't like it, the will love this CD. It shows a diffrent way of telling the story of Peter and the Wolf. The other songs are just as good! I cann't wait to get my CD!

1. My 2 year old son loves this tape. Out of his stack, this
   is his favorite by far. The songs are varied and not cloying but still fun. On average, we listen to this CD once a day and some days 2 or 3 times. It is a bathtime favorite and it doesn't make me want to tear me hair out when I hear it. A good little CD that actually delivers something of value.



2. I'm 12 and I have a 3-year-old cousin who's almost 4 and he loves music! I know he has played this CD at least 2-3 times a day or whenever he's inside he turns it on! Both him and me give it 5 Stars*****

1. when i dropped off my son at daycare this morning, this cd was playing. it is absolutely adorable. the sweet, innocent children's voices make this a wonderful cd for children. i think the other reviewers hated it so much b/c they thought it was for adults' ears. i will definitely buy this cd, and play it in the car for my son. we plan on raising him with good musical taste, and i think this is an excellent way to introduce him to the beatles.



2. This album is nothing short of an insult to Beatles fans of all levels. Milk and cookies to anyone whose expectations of this album are fufilled after listening to it. Thanks for the effort, album makers. Only one suggestion: next time, try harder.



3. One of my all-time favourite CDs... what a stroke of genius! What creativity! I mean, who'd ever guess that compiling the carelessly romantic Beatles songs with the endearingly childish voices of little kids would produce such a masterpiece? Even the tracks that are done without vocals are surprisingly refreshing and easy on the ears. After all those trashy sounds that are shoved into our faces on the radio nowadays, this sweet, innocent, and sincere set of songs is really a welcome breath of fresh air.



4. This CD inspires you to think. The delicacy and gentleness of the instruments lulls you and gives you a feeling of comfort and safety. It makes you think back to childhood. For me, I think about being a small child and being snug in bed with my mother, reading "Goodnight Moon" and "Love You Forever", two books that mean a lot to both of us. This CD brings back fond memorys. Exceptionally good calming music or music to fall asleep with. One of the songs I recommend is "Here comes the Sun". A beautiful CD, everyone should own it!

1. I bought the cassette in 1998 and my niece loved it. Now, in 2008, I bought the CD for the children in my class. They love the music, especially, J-E-S-U-S. When the children are working on their learning papers, chapel, play time, art, or in between periods, they are singing the songs. Actually, the children will be singing J-E-S-U-S for the promotion ceremony with another song and a memory verse. The parents are excited. The children not only sing about God but learning about Him through the songs.



2. I was very disapointed with CD. The beat reminds of dance music, and I refuse let my four-year old granddaughter listen to it. I thought I was buying "praise" music.



3. I bought this CD just so my new baby would have some songs about God to listen to. What makes this CD so great is that when my baby starts crying in the car, we put the CD on and he instantly stops crying. A must have for any parent! Jesus is truly a savior for long trips in the car!



4. My four-year old boy plays the tape constantly. His favorite track is J-E-S-U-S. The songs are brief and don't get tiring after many, many plays. Some are familure, and some are new, but all are fun and energetic. Its great to see him so involved in tape. You won't be disappointed!

2 comments about Veggie Tales: Veggie Tunes, Vol. 4.

1. This VeggieTales CD contains songs from The Ballad of Little Joe, A Snoodle's Tale, and An Easter Carol. This collection of songs is not as good as previous editions only because of the VeggieTales episodes that make up the collection. A Snoodle's Tale was cute but only two songs ("I Want To Dance" and "Sports Utility Vehicle") come from that episode. An Easter Carol was ok but the beautiful "A Hope's Song" and funny "Boids" makes up for what is an otherwise lackluster collection of songs from that show. The songs from The Ballad of Little Joe are easily the highlight of the collection but I find it completely baffling that the Silly Songs With Larry song from that episode, "Bellybutton", was not included! Little Joe is one of the best VeggieTale episodes and "Bellybutton" is the highlight. I don't understand how it could be left out. Had it been included, with possibly a remix version, this CD would easily have rated 4 or 5 stars.



2. VEGGIETUNES 4 is the 4th album of VeggieTales music to be taken from the VeggieTales videos and released on an album. About half of the songs on the ablum are from the video "The Ballad of Little Joe" which is a retelling of the story of the Biblical Joseph. Most of the other songs on the album are taken from "An Easter Carol". The few songs from "A Snoodle's Tale" are also included. My favorite songs on the album are:

   "Hope's Song"
   
   "Another Easter Day"
   
   "Sports Utility Vehicle"
   
   "I Want to Dance"
   
   I love VeggieTales and the music that is created for the videos is very creative, intelligent, and entertaining. However, out of the 4 VeggieTunes albums, this is probably my least favorite. There's just not as great a variety as there are on the other VeggieTunes albums. Nevertheless, VEGGIETUNES 4 is not a bad album, it's very entertaining and VeggieTales fans of all ages will love it. The album is just not as good as the others.
