- This is a good CD as far as the content of the CD, BUT whoever made this CD had no consideration of the recording levels between tracks. One song will be nice a smooth and quiet, then the next track will blow you away. It literally wakes up my child after he has fallen asleep. Out of a volume scale of 10 we have the first song on 5 to barely have it playing in the background for him to sleep, then the next track we have to turn it to 2 becasue it wakes him up, then we have to adjust it to 4 on the next. SOOOO if you are going to stay with him the whole time and be able to change the volume for each song, this CD is for you. I wish I can get my money back but it has been too long. Sooo on to find the next CD for him!...
- As a first time parent I want to give my child every advantage I can. Studies have shown that playing music to your child helps to enhance their learning ability.
I saw "Baby's First" cd series and as they were so affordable I decided to go ahead and buy them without hearing them first. My decision has been rewarded! The cd's are very good, and provide hours of music to stimulate my babies mind. Buy this CD today, you won't be disappointed, and neither will your youngsters! :)
- This was mostly an enjoyable CD. Maybe more to me than my toddler, though. Some of the songs are almost depressing, so we just skip them. For the most part they are fun and upbeat, and with a little effort, I can get my 18 month old to wiggle his butt to the music. This CD is a great value for anyone who wants to foster an appreciation for music in their child, not just their babies.
- I have owned and played this CD ever since my son was born!(he is now 2.5 yrs. old)
The music always seemed to soothe him when he was crying or agitated. Over the past couple of years it has worked wonders..it has now become the "if nothing else works" CD. It Always helps him to calm down at nap time. Helps him concentrate when we are reading together. Sometimes if I have some important work to do, it helps him stay calm and non-disruptive. I had read about the positive effects of classical music on children, and I must say, I totally agree. I am also a violin player, and really have respect for classical music, so it gives me a satisfaction that I am giving my son some quality, mind-strengthening music. If you like classical or not, this CD is excellent for your children, and indirectly it will be good for you too! It is an excellent gift for new parents too. One piece of advice I would like to give to those of you who are not really familiar with classical music. If the sound is new to you, listen to this at a low volume, because the soft music may suddenly swith to loud full-on sounds, so if it's up high, it may surprize you! Hope your children enjoy it!

4 comments about Mike Curb Congregation - Walt Disney's Greatest Hits.
- Most of the songs were well performed on this CD!You'll love the upbeat 70s tempo and you'll be singing along and tappinng your feet. The only gripe I have about this CD is the slow and boring "Lavender Blue"-it's so slow that it will put you to sleep.I personally think they should've done "Tiki Room" or "So This Is Love" instead.
- The Mike Curb Congregation give some lovely performances of these Disney treasures. The ballads are especially beautiful. "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" is downright gorgeous. "When You Wish Upon A Star" is fantastic and gets a really heartfelt treatment. The arrangements and vocals are great on this disc. Some of the songs like "It's A Small World" and "Spoonful of Sugar" from the Mary Poppins medley, have groovy seventies arrangements, but they are really fun. I can remember when this album was played in the waiting area for Walt Disney World's "Mickey Mouse Revue".
Other standouts on this disc are "The Snow White Medley" ( really nice ) and "Once Upon A Dream" from Sleeping Beauty. If you love classic Disney songs, this CD is for you.
- Look for interesting vocal arrangements of these classics elsewhere - this is pretty bland stuff, with the medleys (Snow White and Mary Poppins) coming off especially forced. The ballads here are some of the best written for Disney productions, but all are given generic, ploddy and syrupy sweet renditions. Of the other numbers, "Winnie the Pooh" made me yearn for the Louis Prima version, and "It's a Small World" had me leaping for the fast forward button. There are bright spots, however, and they are dandies: a rousing "Bare Neccessities" complete with a snazzy kickline coda and a terrific, wonderfully arranged "Zip a Dee Doo Dah" that is sure to put a smile on your face and a spring in your step. Two stars for two good cuts on an otherwise blah CD.
- The Mike Curb Congregation do some great versions of these Disney songs. This singing group is just great. This album has beautifully arranged medleys from the great films, and lively renditions of the more spirited Disney numbers. It is a pleasure and will definately put you in a great mood.

- Little Blue Horses is such a good song that the mother of one of my son's friends heard it once and borrowed the CD -- and never gave it back! Can't say I blame her. I just hope she's shared it with other families too.
- This CD has become our daughter's personal bedtime favorite. She especially likes the Little Blue Horses song. I think the adults enjoy it just as much as she does! In fact we like it so much, we bought more for gifts.

- I love this Baby's First Series! Don't let the title fool you...the CDs are for ANYONE. They are soothing, calming and so incredibly well-done...not to mention, SO inexpensive! I have sent them to many friends who have kids as new baby gifts, birthday gifts, gifts for the sibling of a new baby, Happy Summer, thank you, etc. Every person who has received one of these CDs has called to rave about it. I use this Piano Music CD and the others in the series in my daughters' room at quiet time and sleepytime, and they love them. They choose a different one every night. They especially like the Fairy Tales and the Guitar Baby's First CDs. The oldest is 4, and the youngest is 2. I also teach 5th grade, and I always have soothing music on in my room, even when I'm teaching and during tests. It promotes brainpower and cuts down on the conflicts (I'm convinced of this...) I use the Baby's First CDs in my classroom, too, and the kids love them (particularily GUITAR and MUSIC FROM AROUND THE WORLD). Discover the affordable and high quality world of the Baby's First Series (Christmas, Toyland is a classic that I will be sending to all of my friends in November, regardless of age!)

- I HAVE THREE OF THE FOUR MOMMY AND ME CDS AND MY TWO YEAR OLD DAUGHTER LOVES THEM. WE LOST ONE AND SHE WAS DEVASTATED. THEY ARE ALL SUNG BY CHILDREN AND ARE SOOOO CUTE!! WELL WORTH THE MONEY.
- I have this CD and the other mommy and me collections in a CD called 50 all time favorites. My baby girl is 8 months old and for the past 4 months, she has been hooked on this cd. the music is very cute and very sing-a-longable!! The best part that I like about these CDs is that there are CHILDREN singing on these CDs and that's what my baby likes. Any time she's fussy inthe car, I turn this CD on, she's quiet and listens. Another point, my friends bought the Time Life children's music from TV. These are the same songs repackaged. Kinda wierd. But we love it!
- This is the worst children's CD I've ever heard. It was a Christmas gift for my daughter and we had to take it away. It is just SO AWFUL! The "music" is extremely mechanical and sounds like it came from a toy synth keyboard. The "vocals" sound like they came from the keyboard... they must have sped them up. It all sounds so artificial. Every song is sung in the same key and ends with the same mechanical rit. I guess if you like the "music" that comes in toys these days, then this might be your cup of tea, but otherwise, keep looking.
