  1. Great album. They really should have included Give Me One Good Reason, though. Thats probably their best song. Adam's Song is the best song on this album definetly. I wish they were still together.

  2. i am a huge blink-182 fan. people have to stop saying "blink isnt 'PUNK ROCK'" get over it.... i know they arent punk. punk you know is screaming words you cant understand and blaming the world for your problems. go listen to Black Flag and see what i mean. blink-182 did an excellent job as a band and now they are finished. Dammit was totally remade and it sounds alot better. blink-182 was a band inspired by The Cure, The Misfits, and The Desendents and some poppy music and you can hear it for yourself when you listen. therefore, they arent true punk, the music gives you the chills and reminds you of when you were a kid, which is what i love. selection for this album could of been better though, which is why i give it a four. STOP GIVING REVEIWS THAT SAY THEY ARENT PUNK..... WE ALL KNOW!!

  3. After dealing with zombies all day, I like to come home and relax. I usually wind down with a cup of mocha and yell at the dolt on the radio who is trying to tell me to go see Al Gore's movie. Al Gore is not an actor and he is not even half the athlete that Frank is. Speaking of Frank the forty niners have not done squat since Steve Young retired but my team is the Bears. Oh well we lost the superbowl but back to what I was saying, when I get home and relax I need something to set my coffee mug down on and any cd by this band is great for that. really really great because they are so annoying and boring. the cd is worth the money for a coaster though and i let me children smash the jewel cases with bats sometimes. it teaches them hand eye coodination much better than those silly video games the zombie kids are playing. no wonder everyone thinks the world is going to end, with all these zombies running around!!!

  4. Great CD, some of the best Blink182 songs around. For those of you with nothing of theirs go with it and find out what you like then go buy their other stuff.

  5. I'm 15 i just dont have an account. Anyways Blink 182 is one of the greatest bands ever. If you dont think so then you are an idiot. I would suggest buying all there albums instead of this but if your new to Blink 182 then you should get this first. Heres a review of each track.

1.Carousel-5/5 from Cheshire Cat. excellent song. Very creative and exellent bass and guitar work. Very old school
2.M+Ms-5/5 from Cheshire Cat. insane guitar intro. very laid back summery song.
3.Dammit-5/5 from Dude Ranch. hands down one of the greatest guitar riffs ever. Great Song. I love the pissed off lyrics.
4.Josie-4/5 from Dude Ranch good song. cool bass in the beginning. its about the perfect girlfriend.
5.Whats My Age Again? 5/5 From Enema of the State. hilarious song. very melodic guitar. one of their best songs.
6.All the Small Things-5/5 From Enema of the State. you cant not like this song. by far their most famous song. the kinda the song you would blast on your car stereo in the summer time.
7.Adams Song 5/5- from Enema of the State. beutiful song but pretty depressing. its about suicide and being depressed.
8.Man Overboard 5/5- from The Mark,Tom,and Travis Show. cool song about their ex-drummer Scott Raynor.
9.The Rock Show 4/5- From Take off your pants and jacket. Good but a little too poppy. nothin really special about it.
10.First Date 5/5- From Take off your pants and jacket. Very famous song. cool guitar solo.
11.Stay together for the kids 5/5 From Take off your pants and jacket. Awesome song. Sad though cause its about divorce.
12.Feeling This- 5/5 From the self titled album. really good song. the bridge part that mark sings always gives me chills.
13.I Miss You- 4/5 From the self titled album. pretty good but slow and a little bit emo.
14.Down- 4/5 From the self titled album. this one took a while to grow on me. kinda sad.
    15. Always- 5/5 From the self titled album. very upbeat love song. awesome drums and cool bass intro.
16.Not Now- 5/5 new song. very good. gives me chills. it also makes me sad because it reminds me of when they broke up.
17.Another Girl Another Planet- 5/5 cover song. i forget who did the original. good song. nice way to end.
overall its a good greatest hits and you should buy it if you want to get into blink 182.

5 comments about Little Rock.

  1. This album is a deserving purchase for any hipster that holds fast to his opinion that he / she knows the real deal. Very impressed. There is no need to partake in a detailed evaluation of the music on "Little Rock". I hold fast that competition is a sin within the art of music. To me, simple appreciation holds the candle to light the way, and this is truly an album to appreciate and enjoy. Enough said. Good luck Hayes.

  2. If you like country music, the real kind, buy this album. I live in Alabama but as soon as I can catch this guy live, I will. All good!!!

  3. I am admittedly not the ideal person to review music, especially singer/songwriter music, as I tend to be overly forgiving. That being said, this disc just rocks! I bought it due to his association with ray wylie and others and they must all be proud. His uptempo songs are, as one would expect, fantastic, but the slower, more introspective tracks are really special, with each listening bringing more dimensions, I just love it, and am awaiting delivery of more Hayse Carll. give this one a try, you won't be sorry

  5. Playing Time - 40:11 -- Hayes Carll is a Texas singer/songwriter who describes himself as a "twisted folk singer." I don't find him particularly perplexing because his songs reveal a fair amount about his life, friends, and wry wit. The places he's lived over the years are mentioned in the opener, "Wish I Hadn't Stayed So Long." He wonders about some of his closest high school buds in "Good Friends." And just about everything else is referred to in the tongue-twisting "Down the Road Tonight" from thrift store cowboys to panty droppers, and pill poppers to his grandmother. Little Rock is a followup to Carll's 2003 release "Flowers and Liquor," and this latest effort offers a nice mix of varied tempos and diverse messages to keep a listener rapt and attentive. The title cut, about Arkansas, is a rocking story about Carll's search for "a piece of this earth for my peace of mind." With emotive voice, the singer also ably handles the rawboned ballad, "Long Way Home," or quiet lullaby "Take Me Away." Of special note are the compositions written in collaboration with Ray Wylie Hubbard ("Chickens"), Guy Clark ("Rivertown") and John Evans ("Sit in with the Band" and "Take Me Away"). Some songs have a tender side, while others are raucous.

While Carll chose to independently release Little Rock, his personalized sound and work eithic (over 200 appearances in 2004) have attracted the interest of major labels. Produced by R.S. Field, Little Rock features a bevy of good musicians. Alison Moorer and pedal steel player Bucky Baxter assist on vocals, and I wish that some of the songs had been arranged with a few more harmonies. Other musicians who lay down the Texas groove include Kenny Vaughn (guitar), Jared Reynolds (bass), Jimmy Lester (drums), R.S. Field (percussion, drums, guitar), Adam Landry (guitar), and George Bradfute (bass).

Carll has been on the road with Joe Ely, Todd Snider, Slaid Cleaves and Ray Wylie Hubbard. He's also played Merlefest and the "Texas Revolution" at the Southfork Ranch in Dallas. Hayes Carll is a bit of a renegade who is strongly individualistic, confident and independent. As long as he succeeds in getting his music out there and heard, Carll's on a certain road to headline status in the Texas music scene. He's well on his way as I understand that Hayes went #1 on the Americana radio chart in April, 2005 - a feat never before accomplished by a self-released artist. (Joe Ross, Roseburg, Oregon)

5 comments about A-Sides.

  1. Soundgarden have easily succeeded with A-Sides, this is the best compilation I've found from a grunge band. With a whopping 17 songs this is worth every dollar. Adding the unreleased "Bleed Together" is a great addition and the chronological order is fascinating. You can really notice the band mature and craft better songs. You can spot their more commercially successful songs halfway through, so you get a lot of their older sound stirred in a bit. Most greatest hits lack older material from bands and strive on their most appealing songs.

Highly appealing for the price. "Black Hole Sun" is a classic, but take a deeper look into songs like "Flower" or the epic "Jesus Christ Pose" (Chris Cornell hits his highest note in his career in the songs later moments!)The sound is great, the song selection offers a variety of well produced tunes to metallic throwbacks. Their is fast songs, their are slow songs, their are even punkish songs!

Soundgarden are on the biggest grunge bands and remains obvious when looked upon this album!

  2. Soundgarden may be a bit overrated, but who cares? They are cool. I'm not big on their early work, but Badmotorfinger and Superunknown were easily two of the coolest releases of the '90s, and guess what? Half this album is taken from those two releases! DUDE! These are some classic songs! I don't think ANY '90s frontman, except for maybe Eddie Veder, had more old-fashioned charisma than Chris Cornnel, and few of the guitarists could play like Kim Thayil. Just listen to "Spoonman" (which is actually very, very funky stuff, especially for a grunge band), and you'll know what I mean. It's damn intelligent, too. It's got this really tricky, really complicated rhythm. Soundgarden was charismatic AND smart - in my eyes, a great combination. And the songs here rule! The psychedelic grunge of "Black Hole Sun" is my favorite, because Cornel does some great wailing near the end, and Thayil totally rocks out. Plus their drummer, Matt Cameron, loses his mind. It's great. But hey, just about all of this is! Have you heard these songs? "Jesus Christ Pose"? "Pretty Noose"? "Rusty Cage"? "Outshined"? "Fell on Black Days"? "Burden in My Hand"? "Flower"? "Loud Love"? Whoa... it's hard-rockin', intelligent, good music! A few songs I think are greatest-hits quality are missing - "Superunknown", "Room a Thousand Years Wide", "Big Dumb Sex" ("Hey, I know what I'll do! Fork you, farg you, fjordk you!" Funny song!), "Fourth of July", "Head Down", and so on - but that can only be expected on a greatest-hits album, and besides, this is a very specific one. It's all a-sides. Good 'uns, too! Pick this up if you're a '90s rock fan. I know I am.

  3. Soundgarden was a good band but they won't make history.
If you like grunge rock, you'll like it.
To me, few songs are unforgettable like "Outshine", "Black old sun" or "Burden in my hand" but it takes a lot more to remains in the major league of rock music.

  4. A best-of album from Soundgarden is like a best-of album from Led Zeppelin: it's ridiculous. In many ways Soundgarden is the Led Zeppelin of the grunge era. Both bands are about power and mystique, each offering up a relentlessly heavy edge that overshadowed their contemporaries like Manute Bol standing next to Spud Web. Also, both bands went extinct way too soon. In Soundgarden's case, they issued only five albums and two eps. While their earlier work (1985-1989) was an inchoate combination of sweaty hard rock and shifty punk music, sometime during the process of the "Louder Than Love" album (1989) the band just locked into a sound that can never be duplicated. Everything that followed this period (-1997) was simply brilliant. So, who can argue with a greatist hits collection? My main gripe is that their record label has been incredibly stingy about their treatment of Soundgarden's catalogue, not to mention the Temple of The Dog album, which should be remastered and offered with live tracks/outtakes. This is not just great music, it's music that defines an era, defines a feeling. It's the exalted prototype for an entire movement. And why is the awesome "Birth Ritual" from the Singles soundtrack or "Heretic" from Pump Up The Volume missing? Whatever bohemeth now owns Soundgarden's catalogue needs to remaster everything and release something from the live vaults. It's been a decade since this, their most recent offering, was released. Gimme a break.

  5. If you don't already own Superunknown, then you might as well pick up this album as opposed to buying three or four Soundgarden albums. There are some great tunes missing, but there always are. All the major hits are here.

  1. The Wreckers is a band like no other. It is a collabaration between country singer Jessica Harp and alternative pop sensation Michelle Branch. I've been a fan of Michelle Branch ever since I heard 'Goodbye to you' on 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and 'Charmed'. I noticed this band when I went on Michelle's web-site and it redirected me to the website of said band. I was instantly awe-struck by the background music of 'Leave the Pieces' and found myself visiting the web-site just to listen to the song. Therefore, knowing I couldn't just keep coming on-line to listen to a song, I decided to purchase their album from amazon.co.uk. I have never been more happy with a purchase. The album is flawless! It's interplay of Jessica's country and Michelle's pop makes an extremely well-rounded, inspiring, emotion-wrenching, heartfelt piece of art. It has a song for whatever mood you are in at the time; even if you don't particularly like country music, this will not disappoint you. The album's first track is 'Leave the pieces', which I previously stated stays in your head dangling on your heart-string when you so sorely need a boost of inspiration in your everyday routine. This song also did very well in the American charts and along with 'The Good kind' made the wreckers ever more famous in their home country. Said song is also extremely emotional, but oddly in an up-beat way. It's very hard to explain, but the Wreckers give you a sense of accomplishment like no other before them. They are both exceptional musicians. In between Jessica's more solo track 'Tennesse' and Michelle's solo track 'Rain', you feel an array of memories, imaginative sub-text, incredulous sorrow and up-beat irony (not necessarily in that order). It really makes you feel alive in a vast majority. Even at the end track 'Crazy People', which is a song for anyone scorned by love in any way, you are wanting the CD to keep playing and playing. You will never get enough and keep wishing for more, which I know is always a good feeling. Therefore, if you want your senses pricked, shaken, or stirred, this is the album that will open you up to a new generation of music and maybe even change your attitude of the world to a certain degree. I hope you enjoy this masterpiece as I have.

  2. When I first heard michelle branch was releasing a country album, i was a but sceptical, i once i heard stand still look pretty i was amazed, this girl can do no wrong, i'm not a big country fan, and only bought this album becasue of Michelle, but this turned out to be one of my favorite albums of 2006, i'm looking forward to Branch's new solo album this year

  3. I've heard these 2 gals described as a cross between the Dixie Chicks and SHeDAISY. I'd agree but also add in a touch of the sound of the Corrs, an Irish family band made up of 3 sisters and one brother. I doubt it was intentional, but I can easily imagine Andrea Corr singing Lay Me Down or many of the other tracks on this CD. Michelle Branch and Jessica Harp have, in my opinion, created a very enjoyable sound.
I don't know how many country fans have heard anything by the Coors but if you like this CD you may want to also check out some of their music.

  4. I liked the Wreckers first attempt at an album. Some of the songs were interesting, but all in all it was a pretty good CD. I do wish they had not broken up so we could have seen what they would have progressed into. Who knows what life will bring for them and us (their fans).

  5. Michelle Branch has produced another excellent album. I'm not usually a fan of country music, but I really enjoy this album. I love how it incorporates Michelle's pop/rock influence along with Jessica's country influence. Their voices sound amazing together which provides beautiful harmony. The Wreckers rock!

5 comments about Automatic for the People.

  1. The fact that U2's Bono called this 'the greatest country record never made' says enough. This album is incredible.

Every song on the album is a stand-out. The hits such as "Drive", "Everybody Hurts", and "Man on the Moon" speak for themselves.

The brilliant "The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonite", may seem a bit out of place. Peter Buck says the following in the sleevenotes to The Best of REM: "We included this song on Automatic in order to break the prevailing mood of the album. Given that lyrically the record dealt with mortality, the passage of time, suicide and family, we felt that a light spot was needed. In retrospect, the consensus among the band is that this might be a little too lightweight."

Although not a major hit, "Find the River" is incredibly moving and amongst their best (my personal "#1 REM track"). The extra piano crescendo at 3:24 is still my favorite REM moment.

  2. It came smashed in the box HORRIBLY WARPED.
but since I'm smart I left it out side to unwarp and it worked but I'm shocked AMAZON let this leave their inventory like that but hey i fixed the problem.

  3. R.E.M.-Automatic For The People *****

Automatic For The People is widely regarded as the bands greatest album along side the genius Murmur, which I believe is better. This acclaim is not unworthy as Automatic is one hell of an album, and while it isn't the bands best effort, it sure is their most ambitious, and daring.

This remains the groups best selling and most popular album for one reason, and that is Michael Stipes ambitious lyrics. Songs like the bitter-sweet, almost too good 'Everybody Hurts' and the eccentric tribute of 'Man On The Moon' (which they do amazing live by the way) went on to drive this album in the psyches of every rock fan in the early 1990's gaining R.E.M. fans in the most unlikely of groups. 'Drive' should have been a bigger hit, and 'Try Not To Breathe' might be the best song Stipe ever wrote. But it is 'Ignoreland' that haunts me. It is with out the strongest song in the bands canon subject matter wise, as well as the richest. With a too good to be true chorus, and Michael Stipes' patent vocal lines this is easily one of the groups finest.

But where Stipe ends, Buck begins. Peter Buck is a genius and there is no taking that away from him. 'New Orleans Instrumental No.1' is vital, and stunning, and there is nothing to it. his acoustic guitar work through out the album rivals almost anything else he has ever done, except for maybe his work with The Replacements.

Automatic For The People was at the time R.E.M.'s most lush album, though looking back it was clearly just a sign of things to come. R.E.M. have released a number of amazing albums, but only three would I call essential. Accelerate, Murmur, and Automatic For The People.

  4. Can it be 16 years since this brooding, sinister, insightful CD, opening memorably as it did with the softly sung lyrics to `Drive'?:

    Smashed!
    Cracked!
    Bushwacked!
Tie another one to the rack.
    Baby ....

    Hey!
    Kids!
    Rock and roll!
Nobody tells you where to go!

    What if I ride?
    What if you walk?
What if you rock around the clock?
    Tick ... Tock ... Tick ... Tock ...

The dark nature of the album finds deeper expression in the enigmatic (an adjective that seemingly always pops up when REM is in play) `Try Not to Breathe'. The haunting tune is graced with lyrics that make its title not an exhortation to someone else but rather a determined effort on behalf of the speaker himself:

I will try not to breathe.
This decision is mine. I have lived a full life
And these are the eyes that I want you to remember.

The song sets up to wonder about a theme that is primus inter pares in this album, that of death, its imminence, and the ability to choose its moment.

If `enigmatic' is the right word, `The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonight' calls for it in all caps. Is the joke on the listener who looks for its inner logic, because there is none? Maybe. Good bands--and REM is a definitive good band--can get away with that kind of thing once or twice every second album or so. Lesser artists just look like posers. So one takes this track with a grand of sand because what follows is indisputably, memorably golden.

The precious ore in this album is concentrated in the mega-hit pondering called `Everybody hurts'. It would be difficult to exaggerate the enthralling comfort of this piece. Recalling at the outset Chicago's unforgettable `Colour My World', the song's simple lyrics channel powerful consolation to the listener who hurts. Really hurts. In the hearing, he discovers a comfort that is more like shared grief than denied pain:

When the day is long and the night, the night is yours alone,
When you're sure you've had enough of this life, well hang on.
Don't let yourself go, everybody cries and everybody hurts sometimes ...

Everybody hurts. Take comfort in your friends.
Everybody hurts. Don't throw your hand. Oh, no. Don't throw your hand
If you feel like you're alone, no, no, no, you are not alone.

The insistent refusal of the last line quoted achieves the a realistic rather than an evasive confrontation with the wish to end it all. It is truth so sheer it seems almost apostolic in its quintessence: you are not alone.

There are lesser gems. They own a penultimate ranking not because of inherent deficiency but because `Everybody Hurts' is too damn good to brook much competition. Consider `Sweetness Follows', an exquisite look backwards at the absurdity of family. The conclusion is memorable:

It's these little things, they can pull you under.
Live your life filled with joy and thunder.
    Yeah, yeah, we were altogether
    Lost in our little lives.

    Oh. Oh. Ah.

    Oh, oh, but sweetness follows.
    Oh, oh, but sweetness follows.

The band's odd and persistent narrative Jones gets some satisfaction in `Monty got a raw deal'. Without a context, this narrative stream may prove impossible to navigate. Still, the sound is gorgeous.

Similar things can be said of `Nightswimming' and `Find the River'.

'Enigmatic' goes a long way towards explaining R.E.M.'s deep and sturdy appeal. In their trajectory to date, this album was a milestone. It is still a remarkable musical moment these many years later.

  5. Very few albums are completely beautiful from beginning to end. This is one of those rare gems...

5 comments about Adore.

  1. I love their heavy riffs, which are completely absent here, but the beauty of the songs have soul of the highest level. This is easily in my top five albums from my collection of over 300. Every track is unlike anything the pumpkins have ever done, and a work of genius. The lyrics are on the highest level I've ever heard from Billy too. As long as the pumpkins next album is good, I'm happy, but if they went back to do something awesome in this style I'd be in the clouds.

  2. Adore by the Smashing Pumpkins is probably their most misunderstood album ever. I like this album, some of the tracks dabble in electronica especially on the first single, Ava Adore, I just love the lyrics in that song. Songs like Perfect, To Shelia, and Crestfallen display Billy Corgan's sensitive side. This is a stunning album, buy it today!

  3. I dont care what other people think about this album because i know its awesome. Adore is darker and more beautiful than their previous albums and if you can apreciate good and beautiful music than you would appreciate Adore!

  4. If you listen to this album and are not at some point moved by its beauty then I feel for you because you have no soul and are completely lost forever.

  5. let's kick it off by saying that I love the Pumpkins. Yet, this is the ONLY CD that I've thrown away. not just thrown away, but cracked in half, stomped on and sworn at before chucking in the dumpster. $16.39 for this? Are you kidding? If I could find one song here that could have even halfway redeemed this refuse, I would have kept it. No such luck. Before anyone accuses me of being closed-minded, I might add that I have 1300 CDs covering many MANY genres. To quasi-qhote Anthony Bourdain, when I say something sucks a**, you can believe it. by far the most boring and tedious title i have subjected my ears to date.

5 comments about At Dawn.

  1. It took a while for me to "get" My Morning Jacket. But now that I finally figured out that Jim James is the new archangel of American rock, I've been working my way backwards through their studio work to discover what gems have yet to shine through my ears and tickle the musical capacitors in my brain.

With some bands, looking into the past can be a hazardous course. But the MMJ catalog proves to be an intriguing, if inconsistent, study in songwriting development with very few bumps in the road.

At Dawn is perhaps one of the band's most underrated albums (although the reviewers here seem to share my enthusiasm), but the fact is it may be one of the best examples of their shape shifting between dramatic, acoustic Americana gems and scorching, southern-tinged, country-fried rock. This is perhaps best exemplified by the tracks that make up the core of this disc -- Bermuda Highway, Honest Man, and Xmas Curtain -- starting out with a gentle fireside sing-a-long then rising to a mountainous electric anthem and then setting back into a misty melodic valley. Other personal favorites include the bluesy gait of Death is My Sleazy Pay and the reggae-infused lilt of Phone Went West.

While Z remains my far and away favorites, and Evil Urges is quickly becoming a staple in my summertime driving rotation, At Dawn is quickly becoming the disc I reach for when I need a bit of bona fide musical spirituality. This is a highly recommended listen for anyone looking to wrap their wings further around this impressive band of musicians.

  2. Just so ya know, track 13 (Untitled) is a full 8 minutes and seven seconds. Amazon has it incorrectly listed as 3:08.

The song "Lowdown" is the high point here. Recorded music at its finest. Play the sample above and tell me I'm lying.

  3. I listened to "At Dawn" after having listened to "Z," which is their latest release. Like "Z," their songs ramble a bit and they go into long, drawn-out solos - a "jam band" if you will. However this album is much more crude and there is way too much reverb. Call me "urbanized," but the production values are poor and there is a lack of hooks throughout the entire length of album. The album is so long that the CD stops playing near the end on my computer's CD player - "Strangulation!" gets strangulated, and I don't even hear the bonus track. "Honest Man" is the only standout on the album, a blues-driven rocker that is unlike any other song MMJ has done. The rest, well - I'm glad it's in the past.

  4. I am now listening to this cd for the first time, and i have to say I love it!!! The music is mesmerizing, almost putting me into musical nirvana. I recommend it highly, as highly as I have ever recommended any cd!!!

  5. If you read my title, it sounds like I may be strange or just looking to be goofy, but after I saw My Morning jacket this year at Bonnaroo, I'm not totally convinced that Jim James and the rest of the crew is entirely human. The sound of Jim James and the dynamic sound of the band in full is beyond anything that should ever be possible from a mear mortal human being. The album, AT DAWN, has been one of my favorite five albums of all time for well over a year now, but it's an album that may possibly grow on a person for years, or maybe lifetimes, or maybe even reincarnated lives, etc. It hits the soul in ways I didn't think possible. I really don't think (aside from MMJ themselves) that any album will ever be made again that reaches this deeply into the human spiritual core. This album leaves me trembling and feeling reborn after every listen. I was late getting into My Morning Jacket, and now I can't stop thinking about them and it's almost odd how integrated their music is with my life. Appropriately enough, they have possibly the most fitting song in the history of life to describe how I feel about Jim James and the way the music makes me feel. To take an exact quote from the song "The Way That He Sings":

"Why does my mind blow to bits every time they play that song?
It's just the way that he sings,
not the words that he says, or the band.
Im in love with this soul, it's a meaning that I understand."

Those lines are the most appropriate lines I have ever heard. Because it's the way I feel every time I hear every part of that song, and of the album. Of course, I do love the lyrics and the band, etc, but there is something in the way that he sings that blows my mind to bits. Every song on this album is so beautiful and hypnotic that it could arguably stand out on any other album in music history. Please give this album many chances, and realize that it may take several listens before you even can get to the next level of the greatness of this album. I heard it almost four or five times, casually, before it started to hit me, and then one day, I immediately named it one of my favorite five albums; now it's my number one without any doubts. Only this band could top the effort of At Dawn. I really can't say any more about this album other than that it is just simply the most beautiful thing I have ever encountered in my life. This album is special, and the band is as much. I've only seen them twice, but please see them after you get familiar with at least a couple of their albums, and I promise you will come back home and play their albums more religiously than a priest reads a verse before mass.

  1. If you not a real big BNL fan than this is the album to pick up. If you are a big BNL fan than you already have all these songs. These were their most famous tunes. But if you own any of their stuff (if not you should really get some) you know how great and witty all the songs are.

  2. These guys are pretty good musicians, the drummer stands out on several songs. Mostly pretty good songs, with some filler. I've listened to it over a dozen times, and I'm not tired of it, which is pretty high praise.

  3. This CD was lost during my Divorce about 7-years ago. Not used very much, but when you feel the need for these great songs... the are a GREAT ASSET! They bring solice to the Soul when you need them (take your mind off of redundant pressing matters). It's FUN music! Have Fun Kids!!

  4. What is there to say about BNL? They Rock and those who are fans of theirs knows it. This CD is great if you just want all their very popular songs on one disc. It is perfect!

  5. This CD rocks, well worth the price. The Bare Naked Ladies fan will enjoy this CD. Shipping with Amazon was easy and quick, got CD in about 4 days with no damage. Will order from Amazon again.

  1. Tragic Kingdom by No Doubt is highly overrated. The songs released were pretty good but after all these years, this album is dated and annoying now. This disc is heavy in ska which is no longer popular, no wonder they had to change their sound after this album. Don't Speak was a great ballad but after you hear it 30,000 times you get sick of it. The only track I still appreciate is Sunday Morning, great hook and chorus. This album is considered their masterpiece, but I've heard better.

  2. I Love NO DOUBT, the best songs on this one are Spiderwebs,Just a Girl,Sunday Morning and Don't Speak

  3. Amazing CD. It is a must have for any No Doubt or Gwen Stefani fan.

  4. Tragic Kingdom is a very terrific album. The noted songs include Spiderwebs (my personal fave), Just a Girl and Don't Speak, the song that put No Doubt on the map.

Every song is very fun and good, and it's an all around brilliant album that will leave you shocked and stunned! A must buy!

  5. I love this CD! I like it better than any other No Doubt CD I've heard and more than Gwen Stefani's new solo work. I find it ironic that the music video to Don't Speak has come true.

5 comments about Sinner.

  1. Dallas is a hotbed for killer metal, like the Bay Area is for thrash....and like the Bay Area's own Skinlab and MachineHead these guys are at the top of their craft. If you dig DP...check out their influences like MachineHead and Skinlab, especially Skinlab with their new live CD, SkinnedAlive

  2. this album was awsome but sometimes i wonder was this album the real cause of dave williams death just think about it sinner theirs been alot of singers that name their album like this but diffrent and they died strange world or it was his time to go but sometimes i wonder was it this album but otherwise this album was hot very great like the songs bodies reminded pity and told you so. great album.

  3. i'm only writing this because i was stunned and shocked to see how many people are giving this album 5-star reviews. even the amazon reviewer seems to think this album is fantastic. are you people smoking crack?

this was one of the most overrated metal albums of the past decade. they had a catchy one-hit-wonder with the song "bodies," which got annoying after about five listens. and the rest of the album was crap. uninspired, unoriginal, and boring. but everywhere i go, i still hear people rave about it.

i bought this album when it came out, even though i had never heard any of the songs. i do that all the time, just buy albums i've heard of but never actually heard songs from. i've only been really disappointed once or twice. and to be honest, i listened to this album ten or twenty times to see if it would grow on me. it was passable, mindless rock music, but after a month or two, i just got bored with it. it was shallow, dull, and had no redeeming musical qualities at all. once i realized how completely devoid of talent they were, i got rid of the cd.

gets 2 stars instead of 1, because the songs "sinner" and "bodies" are fairly catchy and i would not be averse to hearing them on the radio once and a while. plus the album cover was kind of neat.

  4. This cd is by far the best cd they came out with. I love every song on this cd.

  5. We- eeelllll...not much to say. Just a stupid one hit wonder band. ''Bodies'' was their one, big time hit. After ''Bodies''...nothing. All that stupid, poser, wannabe hardass song is good for is for stupid, overly cafenated15 year olds to make InuYasha, Elfen Lied, and The Ring AMV's to. And if you don't believe me, go to youtube.
My cousin emails me stuff like that every day. Only idiots who like poser punk, and Elfen Lied (the most failed atempt at gore ever) will love this, and be uploading ''LUCY - LET DA BODIEEZ HIT DA FLOOR!!!'' as fast as this *snaps fingers*
