1. This is a beautiful CD, and my husband and I (fortyish and empty nesters) listen to this CD every night when we go to bed. It is gentle and very soothing and puts us right to sleep. I primarily bought this album because of "Turkish March/Ruins of Athens." I am writing a children's book and that particular piece embodies my little pixie heroine just right! I recommend this CD to everyone...not just babies!

1. I'm a fan of Veggie Tales and generally love their music, but wasn't as impressed with this CD. We have the "Veggie Tales: On the Road with Bob & Larry" CD and love it. Unfortunately it wasn't the same for this Christmas Album.



2. This veggietales album is adorable, and their renditions of these Christmas favorites is stellar!



3. This was a great Christmas CD! In school, I don't hear anything like "Oh Come All Ye Faithful," or "Angels We Have Heard On High." I don't always hear it on the radio either. So, I was so happy there were traditional songs with a religous message on this CD. The Big Medly has some of the best Christmas Carols ever! The four songs are "Joy to the World," "O, Little Town Of Bethelhem," "Oh Come All Ye Faithful," and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas." I thought they were so great, I got some of my friends to Christmas Carol to the CD with me.
   "While By My Sheep" is one of the funniest carols on the whole CD. When Juniors sings the song, some sheep repeat what he sang. (Of course, you only hear "Baaa.")
   If you like Veggietales and you like Christmas Carols, this is a great CD for you!



4. I had the cassette before I watched the VHS The Toy That Saved Christmas. This cassette showcases the songs from the video at the Christmas cast party and has some wonderfully fun versions of Christmas songs.
   Children will love it and adults as well. The Eight Polish Foods of Christmas is hilarious. There is also a reference to West Virginia before the song Go Tell It on the Mountain.
   Be sure to play it in the car or on your home stereo, it is difficult to understand on a portable player.
   If you are a VeggieTale fan this is a must have.



5. Bob the Tomato is hosting the first annual Veggie Christmas party. It promises to be an international night, with Larry, Junior, Archibald, and others performing Christmas songs from around the world. And the food will be traditional Polish Christmas dishes. If Oscar the caterer ever shows up.

   This CD is fun for all ages, just like other VeggieTales products. I frequently find myself laughing and singing along. It does feature the songs from their first Christmas video, The Toy that Saved Christmas, so if you're looking for that soundtrack, this is the place. They mix some lesser known Christmas carols together with more familiar ones, so it seems fresher then many adult Christmas CDs. Of course, it's hard not to like a CD that features the silly song "Oh Santa!"

   If your kids are fans of these veggies, they'll play this disc over and over during the holiday season. A sure fire hit that will please everyone who hears it.

1. As the title says, the album includes songs from several different countries, including Ireland, Holland, France, Spain, Britain and (of course) America - not just the mainland, but also Hawaii.
   
   Some of the songs are well known, like I'd like to teach the world to sing (New seekers), Octopus's garden (Beatles), This land is your land (Woody Guthrie) and the gospel song He's got the whole world in his hands, as well as some traditional children's classics - Old King Cole, Twinkle twinkle little star and London Bridge.
   
   Jessi's husband Waylon Jennings (who also recorded a children's album of his own) joins in on a couple of tracks.
   
   I thought I might have made a mistake in buying this when this album started playing and Jessi introduced herself, but fortunately I was proved wrong. The album is full of songs that will particularly appeal to children but will not make adults cringe, although there are other children's albums with more obvious appeal to adults.



2. This is a fun record for little kids...put it on and watch them not only fall in love with the songs (many of which will be familiar to them), but watch them really learn a wide range of new words, sounds, and rhyming skills. It's a joy, and an obvious labor of love from Jessi Colter, country music's only former "outlaw" and unforgettable warbler of 70's classics "I'm Not Lisa" "What's Happened to Blue Eyes" "Storms Never Last" "It's Morning" etc. She really does gather an amazing collection of songs that represent children's traditions and dreams throughout the world...the common thread on all of them is that kids' music is magical and comforting in any country, always tells a timeless story, and Jessi's voice is as suited to a child's ear as it was to the adult sensibilities. Get it for your little ones, nieces, nephews, etc. Colter's late husband Waylon Jennings has a hand in this, too...so it's an especially timely memento. Well done Jessi! Now, how about one more for the grown-ups, for old time's sake?

1. My husband and I have in our possession seven cds done by this group.Probably two songs on each cd that are O.K. Music is poorly arranged, voices don't blend well at all and the disguised talking between songs is MOST annoying. Why seven? A dreadful mistake that's all!

1. I was introduced to the Banana Slug String Band via their "Slugs at Sea" CD -- an outstanding album. This CD, the 2nd one of theirs that we bought, is also good, but not quite on par with "Slugs at Sea."

   My children like this CD, but it doesn't get them singing quite the way the other one did. The songs are interesting, and they have a good message about the environment.

   This band shows a good range of flexibility in their musical style, lyrics, and presentation without being bogged down in pastels and fluff that often fills much of music made for children. This is a CD that my children AND I can listen to.

   A fun CD to be sure, and full of good science too! I hope that Elementary school teachers out there know about this group!

2. Our five year old son loves it. However, he seems a little frustrated when he can't totally hear all the lyrics in a song, especially the Nose song. (We can't figure out what animal they are speaking of in one verse.) :-(Why are the lyrics not included? It seems like a must, especially for childrens' sakes. A lot of children may like to know exactly what is being sung/said so they can learn from it and sing along. Comprende?



3. Teachers will love this CD (or anything by the Banana Slug String Band). The songs are terrific for science instruction, particularly in environmental studies, habitats, animals, and adaptation. Friendly melodies, great lyrics. My students love these songs.



4. The only CD for my 4-year-old that I can listen to more than a few times. Nice tunes in all kinds of styles from Beach Boys to hip hop to techno. Good eco-friendly lyrics to teach about nature, as well.

1. Joanie Bartels has a unique knack for making the listener of this album want to hear it over and over. Her smooth as silk voice does not get tiresome nor do the simple yet catchy tunes she croons to.
   Our whole family loves to sing the Cadilac song even without the cd playing.
   It is a whole lot of fun to listen to and is one of our kids most favorite.
   Highly recommended.

1. A good collection of classic kids songs. The recordings are clear and the words are easy to understand. All the arrangements are traditional... not modernized versions. These are the songs that most of us grew up with. My kids really enjoy singing along with them in the car. Although the songs are dated compared to some modern children's music like Raffi, these songs still have value in providing culture and history for my kids.

1. This is a really great CD. My kids have enjoyed it and it is nice that it covers more than just Christmas. We have listened to it for several months everytime we are in the car.
