2 comments about Birthday Songs: Games & Fun for Your Party!.

  1. I bought this when my son turned 4. The first song, "Happy, Happy Birthday to You", I play every year on his birthday to wake him up. Tomorrow he turns 13, and as tradition carries on, I'll be carrying in the player to wake him up, with that special song along with me singing.

The entire tape has cute songs for birthday parties, or just for little ones to enjoy while playing by themselves.

  2. The songs are cute! Although I recommend Captain Zoom

2 comments about Baby's First Piano Music.

  1. As a first time parent I want to give my child every advantage I can. Studies have shown that playing music to your child helps to enhance their learning ability.

I saw "Baby's First" cd series and as they were so affordable I decided to go ahead and buy them without hearing them first.

My decision has been rewarded! The cd's are very good, and provide hours of music to stimulate my babies mind.

Buy this CD today, you won't be disappointed, and neither will your youngsters! :)

  2. I love this Baby's First Series! Don't let the title fool you...the CDs are for ANYONE. They are soothing, calming and so incredibly well-done...not to mention, SO inexpensive! I have sent them to many friends who have kids as new baby gifts, birthday gifts, gifts for the sibling of a new baby, Happy Summer, thank you, etc. Every person who has received one of these CDs has called to rave about it. I use this Piano Music CD and the others in the series in my daughters' room at quiet time and sleepytime, and they love them. They choose a different one every night. They especially like the Fairy Tales and the Guitar Baby's First CDs. The oldest is 4, and the youngest is 2. I also teach 5th grade, and I always have soothing music on in my room, even when I'm teaching and during tests. It promotes brainpower and cuts down on the conflicts (I'm convinced of this...) I use the Baby's First CDs in my classroom, too, and the kids love them (particularily GUITAR and MUSIC FROM AROUND THE WORLD). Discover the affordable and high quality world of the Baby's First Series (Christmas, Toyland is a classic that I will be sending to all of my friends in November, regardless of age!)

5 comments about Mickey Mouse Disco.

  1. When my mom bought this LP for me in 1980, it stuck with me forever and now, I still have this on vinyl and CD and still groove to this classic! This LP went Gold and then Platinum in 1980 and in 1984, earned a Double Platinum award. It even generated a tie-in merchandise such as record players, record boxes and etc. I love all of the tracks but "Mousetrap" stands out as a hit!

  2. I remember listening to this on a record at home when I was about 8 years old. I always felt like dancing to it. As I got older, I wondered whatever happened to it (i.e., "was it still sold anywhere?"). If I ever have kids, I'll have to let them hear about this album as well.

  3. This is so hard to get now!!! I got it in a great Disney CD 4 pack from KB Toys about 10 years ago, and now I have 2 children I want to share it with and those CD's are long gone! This is a super-fun album! I wore out the LP on my Fisher Price record player when I was a kid. Need to blast those winter blues and get the kids some indoor exercise? Turn this up and have a great time boogie-ing in the living room. Everyone will love it!

  4. I had this when I was a child, for Christmas.I got the cassette,I know it's obsolete,It wasn't at the time.It also came with a book.I would love to have the cd.I hopes with a book, too.I love disco music. The songs Mousetrap, and Disco Mickey Mouse,Especially the pictures remind me of the song,I Love The Nightlife by Alicia Bridges,Action.

  5. Like many of the other reviewers, this was one of my favorite LPs as a child. Now that we, the first generation of listeners, are in our 20's and 30's with families of our own, it is time to pass on the fun to our kids. Times change and tastes change, but certain things remain timeless, and this is one of them.

The variety of music is sure to please even the most discriminating Disney connoisseur, with its mix of disco versions of Disney classics and original tunes. From the Brazilian beats of "Welcome to Rio" to the Village People-inspired "Macho Duck," this CD is fun for everyone.

If I had anything to criticize, it would be that it looks like this album has gone out of print again. :o(

So...pull out the CD or dust off your old vinyl and get those dancing feet moving!

5 comments about Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea.

  1. When I first saw the movie, the music in it impressed me much. Then I decided to buy this soundtrack.
I was so excited that Jodi Benson returned in the music in Little Mermaid's sequel, her voice always intertain me much! The song "For A Moment" is which I love best. I can feel the happiness of a new mermaid, how Ariel missed her daughter, and something more. "Tip & Dash" is comical, and Melody's voice is so sweet and cute. "Down to the Sea" and "Here on the Land and Sea" are not very different from each other, cheerful and inspiring. The songs that Sebastian performed are not as good as the songs from the movie, and I can't figure out why they were recorded in this soundtrack. However, the songs "Iko, Iko, Iko" and "Give A Little Love" are good.
This soundtrack is not complete. Firstly, the songs from the movie haven't been completely recorded in the soundtrack, the end title "Part of Your World" was so beautiful, but why it's not here? And the Chinese edition has not only the end title but also 2 other songs that Sebastian sang. Secondly, there's no scores in this soundtrack, but thought the scores in the movie are not very exceptional, I wish this soundtrack could be complete.

  2. What a good soundtrack!"For a moment"is my favourite!Tara Charendoff 's voice was so good and sweet, but I like Jodi Benson's voice better. The three or four songs of Sabastian are good too.Ilove"Give a little love".In my opinion,it's the best of the four.

  3. I loved this soundtrack! It was just as good as the original. From the heartwarming songs "For a Moment" and "Down to the Sea" to the exciting "Titanic Tip and Daring Dash", the soundtrack and the movie were both excellent. I would recommend both of these to people of all ages.

  4. it was a great cd that everybody needs to own. the song titanic tip and daring dash has u singing along without realizing u r. any age group can see the movie and here the songs on it and love it

  5. I watched the movie two times, and I liked " Titanic Tip and Daring Dash." That song ROX! There are some songs that were boring and not too good for me, like " Here on the Land and Sea", and " For a Moment." That's why I rated it 4 starz. But they still have great songs there!

2 comments about Toddlers Sing Rock 'N' Roll.

  1. I've got all 3 of the other CDs in this series and they're all great. My toddler really responds to the other children's voices and wants to hear it all the time. He just can't get enough!

  2. The previous three Toddlers Sing cds are excellent. My grandkids enjoy them all the time. This Rock and Roll cd just does't do it! Music is too loud - none of the joy and excitement of the previous Toddlers Sing cds. A real disappointment.

5 comments about Children's Concert at Town Hall.

  1. I saw Pete three times in the 1960's, all after this album was recorded, and all were primarily "adult audience" shows at the height of the fervor over civil rights. However, no Seeger concert went on without a kids' song or three, and when I picked this CD up in a bargain bin the other day, it brought back fond memories of watching him sing "Here's to Chesire, Here's to Cheese" and "Abiyoyo" live. His joy in performing was infectious, and he never let the audience off the hook if the song could be enhanced by their participation. Still, the songs mainly belong to a fading era, as Pete himself tells this NYC audience of children, in which "Families had to make their own music, and make up their own stories to entertain themselves." I have four grandchildren, ages two to eight, and I doubt they would be interested in even half of the concert bill on this CD. Kids' folk songs, whether traditional or written by Woody Guthrie in the 1940's, seem pretty lame when compared to "Hannah Montana" and "High School Musical" which are aimed at teens yet captivate even a much younger audience. If Pete were capable of putting on another concert like this one, from 1962, I'd sure take my grandkids to see him, but the recorded version of that experience just isn't as powerful as seeing it live. I agree with the reviewers who noted that the audience noise destroys some of the songs. I imagine they were added to lengthen the CD from the LP version. As a keepsake of the Pete Seeger experience from the '60's, this is worth owning. Today's kids, however, are so saturated in media, don't expect them to be as impressed as you might wish them to be.

  2. I listened to this album as a kid and loved it. I thought it might be too low-tech for my kids (ages 6 and 3), who are used to more modern media, but they love to hear Pete Seeger tell his stories and sing his songs with just a banjo or harmonica. We listen to it in the car, and the whole family sits quietly listening to every word and note.

  3. introduced me to music, folk music, and Pete Seeger. I've loved Pete my entire life and am very excited to see his music is being exposed to an entire new audience that has never heard of him.

While others complain about the 'quality' of the recording (mostly because of noise from children) I find it to be one of this album's greatest charms. You get a real feel for Seeger as a storyteller. My sister and I spent hours listening to this recording and signing right along.

I've introduced this recording to an entire new generation in my own family...and guess what? We've got children sitting down next to the CD player signing right along with Pete!

I love this CD, and would recommend it to anyone.

Thank you, Pete Seeger, for a great recording that I've enjoyed since 1963.

  4. My son grew up on Pete Seeger singing children songs and I wanted my granddaughter to enjoy the same songs. Unfortunately, this recording is of very poor quality. It was recorded at a concert, you can barely hear Seeger sing, and you can barely make out the words. In short, very poor and unfortunate purchase. I do intend to look for another recording, because I still want my granddaughter to enjoy Pete Seeger.

  5. I agree with all of the reviewers who have praised Seeger's musical abilities and the songs that are on this CD. In those terms, this is a wonderful disc. But potential buyers should be aware that this _is_ a recording of a children's concert, complete with all the noise that kids make... much more distracting than other "live" cds I've heard. There is a wonderful part where Seeger interacts with a crying child, saying, "I didn't mean to scare you." You need to decide for yourself if the added noise of the children at the concert would detract from your listening experience. For me, it was just a little too distracting.

One other warning: If you are concerned about violence in your children's media, you need to know that the rendition of "Frog Went a Courtin'" on this disc -- "Here's to Cheshire, Here's to Cheese," a very catchy song -- contains the most graphic version I've heard of the cat's attack on the wedding feast, complete with blood and a broken back.

The bottom line: The music is great, but I recommend you borrow the disc if you can before purchasing it.

  3. An amazing CD for an amazing Musical! 'MOZART!' contains fantastic music and great protagonists (Yngve Gasoy Romdal, Uwe Kroeger, Ruth Brauer, Thomas Borchert, Caroline Vasicek, Eva Maria Marold & Lenneke Willemsen) in fantastic quality. See Mozart in a different light. A new musical of the 'Elisabeth'-Team Sylvester Levay and Michael Kunze in Vienna.

BUY THE CD. It's worth every cent! I enjoyed every single second!

4 comments about Baby's First: Nursery Rhymes.

  1. I bought this item because my son loves to be sung to and I was running out of songs! He is only 4 months old and loved this CD, I would sing along with it and he would smile from ear to ear. The CD is titled Baby's First Nursery Rhymes but the songs are great for all ages. I loved it too! Plus you can't beat the price.

  2. I purchased this CD with a collection of other Baby's First and my twins absolutely LOVE the music. I purchased them when they were 9 months old and now at 1 year, they still start bouncing up and down when we play them. It always works when they start to get fussy--especially in the car on long road trips. Mom and Dad enjoy singing a long.

  3. Both my children enjoy this CD so much. Whenever there tried and craby I just put this CD on and they both get so happy. I
highly recommend this CD to parents who are in the car often.

  4. Being a strict purist when it comes to the classic nursery rhymes, I was very disappointed when I listened to this CD. Not only do none of the songs sound like the original nursery rhymes, they all sound the same. Sadly, I found that the tune the artist chose became irritating after a few songs. Additionally, the songs do not blend well together. They come to abrupt end and then there is a brief pause or break in between each number. If you really want your child to learn nursery rhymes, you may prefer to order Baby Genius's Favorite Nursery Rhymes, (which maintains the purity of the original) or Bananas in Pajamas, It's Singing Time, A Collection of Nursery Rhymes (which incorporates some fun while teaching the nursery rhymes.)
