1. There are two major publishers in the motorcycle maintenance handbook market, Haynes and Clymer. After doing some research on the net, I opted for the Haynes. I have since returned it and have ordered the Clymer. The basic problem that I had with the Haynes was that the print was very small. If I'm working on my bike, I want to be able to quickly glance at the manual for information as I'm working on the bike. I didn't think that this would be possible with the small print of the Haynes manual.

1. Clymer is the name in repair manuals for motorcycles. This particular manual is well written and covers every component and system on the XS-750/850 motorcycles.



2. Very decently set up book with tremendously clear photographs of all the stuff you want to see. Especially when working with difficult parts it's very nice to be sure what you're doing. A real recommendation, this book, for everyone who enjoys keeping their Triple in top shape!

1. Since this book is not specifically for my model of motorcycle, I must ensure that I am reading the sections just for my bike.



2. A good resource well illustrated but at times confusing due to the number of models it includes. A slimmer volume exclusively on each model / motor size would be easier to comprehend. That said it does the job.



3. I was impressed with this book didn't expect it to be a hardback. It covers several different bikes pretty good. Definetly worth the money.

4 comments about Yamaha Racing Motorcycles: All Factory and Production Road-Racing Two-Strokes from 1955 to 1993 (Crowood MotoClassics).

1. This has to be one of the most comprehensive books on Yamaha racing. A few errors have been found in the book, but for the most part it is very well researched and chocked full of great pictures of some of the best riders in the sport. Past, Present and future. If you are into two-strokes, there is no better book.



2. This is an excellent book about motorcycle racing during the last 40 years. It is very well researched, accurate and will provide plenty of information to seasoned racing enthusiasts as well as new-comers to the sport. Definitely a must have. O. Rossi /Kaohsiung /Taiwan



3. This is an excellent book on the history of Yamaha in GP road racing! I don't think i have ever seen such a comprehensive and detailed account of EVERY aspect and step along the way in the development of Yamaha's 2-stroke racing programs.

   Follow every design change from year to year, through the 1990's. This is a great book with no equal. Full of many photos and lots of interesting history, it is without a doubt one of my favorite Motorcycle related books!

   Until someone writes a better book this will remain the TZ owner's bible. I have just about read the print off the pages of the chapters on the production TZ 250 / 350's and the TZ 750 !!
   
   Here we have a wealth of information for the TZ obsessed with excellent photos, and a brilliant text filled with pretty good (though far from complete) detail of the bikes concerned. At the back there is a great technical specifications list second to none.
   
   I have learnt a hell of a lot from this offering and although it has a number of "holes" obvious to a die-hard enthusiast it is still a remarkably good starting point for someone becoming interested in old Yamaha 2 stroke production roadracers.
   
   It was published by The Crowood Press and is now out of print after initial runs totaling around 3,000 copies. Expensive, but well worth the money.

1. Even though you're not planning to repair your bike yourself, this is a very good addition to the owner's manual that's missing quite a lot of important information.
   
   It basically has everything you need to know about repairing and maintaining your Yamaha bike.

1. This is a very good book for my 1982 Yamaha XJ750-r. It is one of the few I found that were available. Many illustrations with a down to earth HOWTO approach. I like it.

3. This book is very helpful for the amatuer as well as good for reference for the professional mechanic. I found the illustrations to be especially helpfull when locating particular parts.



4. This manual is a must if you are restoring and maintaining a Yamaha XJ bike. It gives detailed instructions and photos in a user friendly format.
