1. Going on a 6000 km trip on a bike you do not know, a manual like this is of great use. It is well organised, and I find it as good as the Haynes manuals. Only problem is that it very large since it covers both Katana's and GSX-R's.

1. Standard manual shows repair, removal, replacement and alignment of minor and major repairs. Lots of pictures enhance understanding and ease learning. Great resource.

1. This manual provides reasonably good black and white pictures and drawings of parts to accompany detailed descriptions of teh GS850 motorcycle. Particulary good is chapter 7 that explains the changes post 1981. I am not a technician so the accuracy of certain topics may not be 100% however it is perfect for my needs. (Actually a technician that helped me was thrilled to have the manual to refer to!). The british lexicon makes some spots difficult to understand but the dictionary of synonomous terms helps you get beyond this hurdle. This manual is a must for the near antique GS850 owners.

1. Rehashed text (from Suzuki brochures), amateurish and out-of-focus photos, a true waste of money. Two excellent alternatives: Suzuki GSX-R750 by Rob Simmonds and Suzuki Gsx-R750 by Gary Pinchin are the only books to buy.

There's plenty of cool factory drawings here as well as a highly detailed chronicle of the relentless technology race to keep the four-cylinder GSX-R family at the top of the highly competetive race replice heap. And if you haven't seen the shots of Daytona 200 winner Mat Mladin crashing and burning his machine at the 2001 Virginia International raceway meet, you haven't lived the Gixxer experience!



3. I used to road race motorcycles and I have developed a deep respect for Suzuki's GSX-R series. This book treats the subject with the same respect. I am too old to ride bikes like this on the street, but I could see buying one as a track-day toy someday. Great book.
