- I gave this 4 instead of 5 because I don't like it. I bought this for my husband and he loved it so I'll give it four since he is into this sort of thing.
- My husband is an avid motorcyclist and loves this movie. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes motorcross, motorcycles, etc..
- This is one of my all-time favorite docus'. I especially enjoy seeing people having good, clean fun and enjoying the company of others all together for a common purpose. As the audience watches true professionals in their trade, this time, motorcyclists, it brings something out of you and the youngsters: a good and clean desire to make the mosts of whatever life you are in. That is the reason why I have heard from several people that "even if you're not into motorcycling, you'll enjoy this film". Well done in all respects.
- I saw this movie in the theater when I was 4 years old in Las Vegas! One week later my mom got me my first mini bike, and I've been an avid off road motorcycle enthusiast since then. I finally found this movie in a video store in 1981 (10 years after first seeing it), if you like motorcycles, and the 70s, this movie is the best. Bruce Brown does a killer job putting this masterpiece together. Flattracker Mert Lawlwill, Malcolm smith, Steve Mcqueen, and a host of other stars, and future stars appear. I have viewed this movie at least once a year, since I found it in the store in 1981! Also very humorous!
- whats there to say, if your passionate about bikes you'll love it!!!!
must have for your collection!!!

5 comments about The Road Warrior / Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (Double Feature).
- I've always been a fan of the Mad Max movies, but never got to see "The Road Warrior" until I found this DVD. It was only $9.99 at Kmart, and I figured, "2 movies on 1 DVD for 10 bucks, including the one MAD MAX movie I've never seen, sounds great!" So I bought it, watched it, and loved it!
Alot of people are complaining about the DVDs Full Screen aspect ratio, lack of special features, and poor picture quality... I have to say, I don't know what everyone's talking about... I can't stand Wide Screen (16:9) format, looks like you're squinting all the time! I'll admit, "The Road Warrior" didn't have many special features, but "Beyond Thunder Dome" had plenty. As for the DVDs picture quality, it looks fine. Although "Road Warrior" looked a little fuzzy, it was definitely better than anything I've ever taped off of TV.
I don't regret buying this DVD, and I'm happy with it.
I got 2 great movies on 1 disc for cheap, so I've got nothing to complain about.
If you're like me, and just want to watch MAD MAX 2 & 3 at home on your DVD player, then buy this DVD.
If you're a cinema junky who's obcessed with dual aspect ratios and loads of special features, then you're better off buying each movie separately.
- I had alot of fun watching.Considering that I'm in Iraq it mad me feel like I was at home.
- sequal to madmax loved it ever since i saw it for the first time. I watch it every other week or so cause its so exciting but still believable ITS A EXCELLENT MOVIE
- Yes, it is true Warner Bros. botched this dvd by releasing it in full screen format. The Road Warrior is a classic, and these films probably deserve the sort of attention MGM gave to Mad Max 1. I think we can all agree the studios have no friggin' clue what the fans want.
However, I bought this double feature for under ten dollars. So what if it's junk? It's under ten bucks! No skin off my back.
Also, may I be so bold to say that a part of me believes these films to be, dare I say, even better in this sloppy, scratchy full screen format. I mean, regardless of their legendary cult status, and despite my own personal love for the post-apocalypse, these are schlock films. That doesn't mean they aren't great, because they are, but perhaps they are best viewed in circumstances and formats that are less than stellar. I think of these films as zooted up B-Movies, sort of the way John Carpenter was making some of his films in the late 70's and early 80's. Or maybe even Spaghetti Westerns such as The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. When I bought my special editions of those great Clint Eastwood Spaghetti Westerns, I found that they had added footage I didn't give a damn about, disrupting the flow of the film, and additional new and improved sound effects. I don't want new sound effects! I want the old sound effects. The ones that sound terrible and completely unreal with all their echoing and ricocheting sounds. That is what makes them what they are-- superbly unpolished, and vintage. I would actually hate to see them do this with the Mad Max series, though I think it may be inevitable now that I see a 4th film is in the works.
Perhaps, someday, Warner Bros. will get it right and release a decent box set collection for these films, complete with bonus features galore. Until that time, this set will do. Remember, after all, it is cheap. You pay for what you get. And that ain't bad.
- I am a fan of those 2 dvd packs. They can be purchased at attractive prices and are space saving at home, for those who like to collect films.
Mad Max 2 and 3 -both - show that a movie does not need Asian fight techniques, kick boxing and kung fu fighting to be interesting, fast and thrilling. It is a solid end time theme with no modern fight inputs and also rarely nowadays: No blood is floating through the films and you don't even miss it. I also like the modern horror and action thriller, but if you see too many of them at a time I think that the way they are made is quite enervating sometimes. That's why I think that Mad Max is a nice vacation from the usual twenty first century standards where blood spills all over, people stay in the air kicking for hours and all you can hear is the f... word. Brilliant young Mel Gibson guarantees that the spectator has a real great time. Fine!

- Really cool video, I recommend it to anyone that has any interest at all in powersports.
- One of the best documentaries out there and one of my favorites movies overall. If you love Baja, racing, dirt bikes, then you will love this movie. Amazing footage and great storylines.
- That Bruce Brown's son Dana, lensed this film comes as no surprise."Dust To Glory" places us squarely inside the Baja 1000. Dana Brown uses his father's film format, that worked well with films such as "On Any Sunday" and "The Endless Summer". In a sense, "Dust To Glory" is an extension of "On Any Sunday".
It shows the personal battles of each team, racing against the clock to win. There are a number of crashes, breakdowns, and much humor, to keep you occupied. Each of the "Major" teams are showcased, and you are kept abreast of all changes that take place during the race. The number of "mechanical oddities" abound in this film, and Class 11, or the VW Bug class, is given some time. you gotta hand it to these VW Bug drivers, THEY'RE CRAZY!!
This race was almost consigned to oblivion back in the 80's, because there were a rash of deaths associated with crashes that were purposely caused by Mexican locals, for their trucks and buggies, so they could be sold. Apparently, this practice has been stopped, because the Baja 1000 brings in much-needed American dollars into the Mexican economy.
There are some well-known racers showcased, as well. Mario Andretti, Robby Gordon, Johnny Campbell and a returning J.N. Roberts (he was in the original "On Any Sunday").
"Dust To Glory" is an entertaining look at a classic American race that has gone on, despite it's "infamous" reputation, to attract racers from all disciplines. Good job, Dana, your Father would be proud!
- I couldn't find this movie anywhere but here and I love it! I've watched it over and over again and have let others borrow it and they have the same reaction. The photography in this film is amazing with great action shots non stop. If your into off roading or even if your not, this is a must see! After watching it I guarantee you'll be wanting to join the next Baja race that comes around.
- A must see if you have any interest in desert racing or the Baja 1000.

- I have seen both the 7 episode and 10 episode editions and I can say without a doubt the 10 show package is far superior. I bought this in January 2008 and suffered no DVD malfunctions as described in other reviews. The extra 3 shows are well worth it.
- Definitely 5 stars for this program!!! But, Goldhil Entertainment = the distributor of this DVD - would not answer my e-mail concerning defective disc #2 which would only play 1/3 of the way through before picture fragments into checkerboard pattern - and freezes - playing no further. In case anyone is interested?
- This is Ewan and Charlies first trip, definately worth watching. Don't be fooled into thinking their second DVD - Long Way Down is the same rough and tumble adventure, it's not, give it a wide berth unless you get to watch it for free.
This one though is excellent.
- A friend who had recently returned from a cross-country (USA) bike trip loaned me this. Knowing I enjoy bikes (riding for over 40 years), he thought I might like it.
About 20 minutes into it, I was ready to quit. The two main characters (Ewan and Charlie) struck me as goofie, inexperienced, self-indulgent "movie types". All the silliness was almost more than I could take.
On top of that, I was amused (and disappointed) to learn of the extent of their travelling support -- they were basically accompanied by an entire crew, including a doctor, in several 4WD vehicles. Adventure, I wondered? Yeah, right.
But I stayed with it, almost forcing myself because my friend was so enthusiastic about the film. And after a while, I began to warm up to it.
Ewan and Charlie are no patsies. Although they had a full support team, they mostly rode alone (with cameraman Claudio -- an immensely likeable guy -- on a separate bike), with the support vehicles and team well behind them. Watch these guys repeatedly dig their bikes out of mud and muck in the middle of literally nowhere...watch them sleep in rough and unknown conditions night after night...go with them into strange and a bit frightening situations over and over...see the repeated breakdowns, broken bikes (including frames), accidents, injuries...and see the overall good spirits they maintained through it...well, I think you have to respect them for it all.
It would obviously not have been possible to film this journey without a crew. Probably it would not be possible to even do it without some support, at least not in four months. So we would not have the benefit of "going with them" any other way. For myself, I very much enjoyed the footage of Mongolia and other obscure parts of the former Soviet Union. Amazing images that tell so much, I think particularly to those of us with some knowledge of the history of the region (my undergrad degree was in Eastern European history).
I think the most telling thing for me was that by the time it was over, not only did I respect these guys, I actually liked them. :) I didn't at the beginning. But their goofy attitudes, juvenile jokes and silly behavior finally got me laughing with them. I decided they'd be fun to hang out with. Or ride with.
Favorite moment: When the wives and kids join them just outside NY is definitely the most touching moment (I think they must have moved the camera away to protect Charlie, the big lug, from footage of himself crying :) ). But I really appreciated the footage of children in Russia and Mongolia, and I enjoyed the visit to Orange County Choppers, and the guys escorting Charlie and Ewan into NYC. The whole film was very enjoyable, overall.
I held back on giving it five stars really for one reason: I would love to show this movie to my children (6 and 4), but the fowl language makes it impossible. Maybe to some it's part of the "charm" and "real life" aspect of the film, but I can't get beyond the fact that I find it offensive when people use the "f word" about every 30 seconds. Other than that, it's an enjoyable film and I will probably watch it again.
- Even if you're not into motorcycles, Long Way Round is an entertaining journey that proves that the Law of Hospitality is truly universal across all cultures.

5 comments about Easy Rider.
- This film is everything to me. Made the year I was born it has everything that is great. Friends, Dylan, The Byrds, The West, America, Motorcycles, Women, Dreams, Adventure, Freedom, Love and Life.
- Yes the ending, the ending!!!!!!!!! that redneck goiter laden hick freak in his pick up truck deserved some little trophy award for saying that line "why dont you get a haircut?" and then Boom!!!!!!!!!!!. I remember walking out of that theatre unable to speak, feel or show expression. Those were my heroes (Billy and Captain America)seeing them get blown away so violently seeking freedom and the real America which thay found unfortunately, was just too much for me. But they needed to be martyrs for the movie to work as well as it did. A great American indie that needed to be made before the 60's left us for good. This is grass man it gives you a whole new way of looking at the day. Now If we can get someone to make Easy Rider 2. Get your motors running.
- What a great movie! Easy Rider brought back some good memories of days gone by. I first saw this with my dad at a drive in theater.Easy Rider
- I saw this when it first came out, and was blown away.
But hey, that was the 60s, so maybe I was just reacting to the times.
But no.
Twenty years later I was asked to teach a course called "The Journey of Life" and use it as one of the pieces.
I was afraid it would not hold up.
I am glad to say I was wrong.
It held up splendidly.
It is one of those films that transcends itself. Despite the shoestring budget and no-name actors (Hopper and Fonda and Nicholson were practically unknown), it pole-vaults into the category of National Myth.
It instantly harks back to one of the elemental themes in America: Seeking Freedom by Hitting the Open Road.
This goes way back--past Kerouac, past Whitman, past Huck and Jim lighting out for the territories, past Ishmael and Queequeg, past Leatherstocking and Chingachkook, past even Hester Prynne and Pearl.
Amazing how this archetype resonates.
The simplicity, the scenery, the topical references (like the parade in the small town; the hippie commune), the strange drug-spirituality in New Orleans, the violence.
Great stuff.
- Still one of the best "buddy"/"anti-establishment" movies of all time. This review is not going to cover anything that hasn't already been covered. In short, AMAZING, EXCELLENT, OUTSTANDING!!!

- My grilfriend is Mexican,,, and so she had to help me keep up.... i had heard so many good things about this movie,,, but I thought it was in english,,,, it wasn't
- When I visited South America on my own extended trip a few years ago, I was amazed how many times I saw pictures of Ché Guevara everywhere I went....cafes, outdoor bulletin boards, art galleries, even department stores. By now having read his diary several times, I can understand his impact, and the 2004 film surpasses my expectations on almost every level. It is perceptively directed, beautifully photographed and wondrously acted by a cast headed by two charismatic actors who tap deep into the hearts and souls of their characters. Whereas the book is more observational, the movie provides a more involving feeling in its portrait of a young man on the brink of his political awakening. It starts out somewhat deceptively as a comic buddy picture with the young Ernesto Guevara (pre-Ché), a medical student, leaving his family and accompanying his seemingly more worldly pal Alberto Granado, a biochemist, on a dilapidated 1939 Norton motorbike traversing South America from their native Buenos Aires to Caracas.
It is obvious what Alberto's hormonally charged intentions are on this months-long journey, but at 23, Ernesto is at a more sensitive juncture in his life where his encounters and observations have a deeper impact on his ideology. What I really like about the film is how it changes in tone and texture as the boys' hunt for adventure evolves into life-changing experiences for both of them. The motorbike acts as a metaphor for this change, as it unsurprisingly breaks down forcing them to open their eyes to the poverty and quiet struggle of the local people in each of the countries they visit. The story winds through wintry Patagonia, the blistering Atacama Desert, the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu and several towns in between. But the most touching passage takes place at the San Pablo leper colony in the Peruvian Amazon basin, where Ernesto bonds deeply with the lepers to the chagrin of the local nuns. His night swim across the Amazon, struggling for air through his asthma, is a powerful scene among many in this subtly potent film.
As he has proven with his wonderful Central Station, director Walter Salles has an acute ability to connect his characters to their settings in deeply emotional ways. He is the ideal choice to guide this road movie. As Guevara, Gael Garcia Bernal transcends his Tiger Beat, teen heartthrob looks and delivers a deeply touching performance, as he grows from a big city innocent to a haunted young man ready to take on a greater cause than his medical career. He does an especially strong job in conveying his character's unblinking honesty and displaying unexpected acts of rage and compassion. Just as good is Rodrigo de la Serna in his feature film debut as Granado, effortlessly showing his character's bravado and humor while finding his own bumpy way in the world. His reactions to his buddy's political declaration at the birthday party, and to his own feelings during their goodbye at the end, are among the most poignant moments in the movie. In fact, much of the film's power comes from their palpable chemistry and unforced rapport. They are instantly and completely believable as best friends. And much more than the book, the film builds a solid emotional bridge between the young innocent and the Communist revolutionary Guevara was to become.
If you are not aware of his fate, it is briefly summarized in subtitles at the end, and the coda with the real Granado is moving. While this may be the most glowing portrayal of a Communist-in-the-making since Warren Beatty's film about John Reed, Reds, don't let that stop you from seeing this mesmerizing work. This is a wonderfully heartfelt film. In the 2005 DVD package, there are three extended deleted scenes included, none indispensable but still valuable for the additional context they provide to an essentially episodic movie. I particularly liked the sequence with the blind truck driver risking the lives of the two vagabonds as he swerves perilously on a treacherous mountain road. The obligatory making-of documentary is helpful, and includes comments from Salles, screenwriter Jose Rivera and executive producer Robert Redford. There is also a couple of brief Spanish-language TV interviews with Bernal and a quick interview with the film's composer Gustavo Santaolalla.
- I think any one who enjoys a good foreign film will love this movie, It is subtitled but it only adds to the movie. A true, or as true as a film can be I guess of the early life of Che Guevara, when he was just forming his political views that caused him to join the revolution. Warning, if you are a Norton motorcycle buff the film may cause some grief when you see what they put the poor motorcycle thru. The film was shot in South America which only adds to the realism of the plight of the two class system that is prevelant in South America. A must see movie.
- I've read all the 1 star reviews about who Che became, and of course his revolutionary bent, etc. This is not what this film was about. All that came later, and can be judged by history. What this film was about, however, is a true, as real as it gets, soul searching journey by two young Argentinian men who traverse South America on motorcycle in order to see other landscapes and people. The poignancy and 'life lessons' they learn as they encounter injustices and poverty suffered by many of these people are very real and moving. 'Self-discovery' and empathy come in many forms, as these two shape their opinions on the human condition while two-wheeling it across many landscapes and cultures for 8 months. The scenery and landscapes are stunning and gorgeous, and the well-paced film has a very realistic feel to it that draws you in. HIGHLY recommended!

- Being a huge fan of the original (DVD), I couldn't wait to get my hands on the blu-ray release... and I wasn't disappointed.
Some of the close up or darker scenes show a little graininess, but overall the movie is gorgeous looking. And the audio soundtrack (which fans of the movie will appreciate) has received the sounds tweak that blu-ray movies are becoming accustomed to - it sounds spectacular.
Old school fans of the movie will be in for a treat with this blu-ray feature - awesome movie.

5 comments about Wild Hogs (Widescreen Edition).
- This was probably one of the worst movies I've watched in a while. This was supposed to be city slickers on Harleys, but what they ended up with was poor performances, mediocre comedy, the most basic of plots, and very little in the way of Hogs.
Boring sums this one up.
- This movie is so far from funny, the light from funny takes six-million years to reach it. I don't even think 6 year olds would get more than a light snicker out of anything in this movie, but that doesn't matter, because I don't think any 6 year olds would be compelled to watch it in the first place.
- Wild Hogs was better than I expected, some good laughs and hijinx. John Travolta, Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence, and William H. Macy are the "wild hogs" who are childhood friends going through mini life-crisis of their own. Ray Liotta also stars but he doesn't play one of the good guys, he steals this film as usual. This movie is pretty much a no-brainer but it's fun to watch on a rainy Saturday afternoon, check it out sometime!
- When this movie hit the theaters, I wanted to see it because the trailer looked kind of funny. Since I only purchase and do not rent movies, I thought I'd give this a go. Boy was I disappointed!
The acting was very poor (perhaps it had a lot to do with a poorly written movie)...I mean, very, very poor! It had it's sporadic moments of laughs, but it just didn't keep my attention. Believe me, you don't want to see this movie because it will taint your image of these actors! You don't want to buy this movie because you can spend it on a movie that is worthy of your hard earned cash! And you particularly don't want to see this movie because you will never get those precious two hours back!
You've been warned, Please...stay away from this movie!
- Great movie! William H. Macy was the best choice of actors to play his character. Good job! A light hearted, funny, feel good movie!

- While I struggled to enjoy this movie as I am hearing impaired, I did like the movie. The only problem is the DVD says it has captioning but when played, there is no captioning. I had the disc exchanged through Amazon and again there was no captioning. All my other DVDs that have captioning shows as I have captioning setup on my TV as well as my DVD players. I really need captioning to fully understand the movies I'm watching.
- Unfortunately due to this DVD being American Format I can't view it and am returning same this coming weekend ! Hopefully I can find a suitable DVD to watch that is usable in Australia ! :( Iaan .
- This is a must see movie. Anthony Hopkins can do anything and it is proven in this movie. The part that he plays is unlike any that I have seen him in. This movie captures the human spirit and brings it to life.
- Anyone wanting a Great Film for the Guy's will love this one. For someone who has everything- this one does the trick.
- What a delightful movie! Recommended to me by a friend who had also enjoyed "Cars", this movie handled a number of points well. Clearly, it is a story about motors and engines and going just as fast as you can, but it also treated with sensitivity the private life of a man dealing with a dream he had had for years. Sex? Not much. Guns? None. Friendship? You bet. People helping people? Sure enough. I have watched this movie a number of times. I recommend it to you.

5 comments about The Lost Boys.
- The Lost Boys is a movie that could only work in the 80s; while sometimes called a classic I don't think I would go that far, but it is a cult classic and one of the most entertaining films I have ever seen. While it is a horror movie there is nothing really scary here. And despite the R-rating it's a very light one at that. The Lost Boys is very much a product of it's time and a damn good one at that. I figured with the release of the sequel The Lost Boys: The Tribe due out this summer I might as well revisit this cult classic.
The screenplay was written by Janice Fischer, James Jeremias & Jeffrey Boam; apparently Fischer & Jeremias wrote the first draft and it was more of a kid's movie that features pre-teens. Richard Donner was the original director, but when production was delayed he dropped out, but stayed on as executive producer, Joel Schumacher was than hired and wanted to make the characters older and I assume that is where Jeffrey Boam comes in. The screenplay though is excellent; the characters are great and almost all of them get enough screen time that we get to know them. Obviously some characters will be more developed than others, but none of them are just simply there.
Director Joel Schumacher who often gets a lot of heat for his work on Batman Forever & Batman & Robin does a great job with The Lost Boys, due to the two Batman movies he's often called a hack and one of the worst filmmakers. Joel Schumacher isn't a great director, but he has made some really enjoyable movies sure he made some mistakes with his Batman movies and even he knows that. But with The Lost Boys he delivers one hell of a fun ride. His scenes are well paced and there really is never a boring moment at all. The comedy works well and the action scenes are extremely well-done and are a lot of fun. There isn't much suspense and tension, but that wasn't the point with this movie.
If anything The Lost Boys is best described as a comedy/fantasy type movie, but since it includes vampires killing people it will throw it into the horror genre. I think every kid and even adults have that fantasy of killing vampires or zombies and The Lost Boys very much plays up to that. The movie runs at 97-minutes and you'll never be bored there's always something happening to hold your interest in the movie.
What The Lost Boys is best known for now is being the very first movie to feature both Corey Haim and Corey Feldman AKA the two Corey's. After this movie they would work together several times before fading away by the end of the 80s; both Corey's work great together here. This is more of a Corey Haim movie since he plays the bigger part and he's really funny, but Feldman possibly steals the show as Edgar Frog along with Jason Newlander as Alan Frog. The Frog Brothers are played straight and serious, which makes it even funnier.
Before he was Jack Bauer, Kiefer Sutherland was David the evil vampire. I'm a huge fan of Sutherland and this is one of his very best roles. He doesn't always have a lot of dialogue, but he has a great presence on camera and makes for one of the coolest vampires to ever appear in a movie. The rest of the cast is also excellent; Jason Patric puts in a solid performance as Michael Emerson trying to fight his vampire urges.
The Lost Boys easily rates as one of the most fun filled movies of the 80s and one of the most fun period; there's never a slow moment The Lost Boys is always funny and a lot of fun. The DVD is excellent with some great features on the 2nd disc. I've seen The Lost Boys several times, but this is the first time I've seen it on DVD and I know there was a DVD out before, but the new one features a brand new HD transfer and the picture quality is excellent. If you own the original disc it's more than worth the double dip for the 2-disc set if not for the extras that at least for the transfer.
- I was so excited to see this set, this is one of my all-time favorite movies! The special features are fun, and I really needed to replace my worn-out VHS from 1987. I am so glad they put this out!
- You never grow old, and you never die. But you must feed! Kiefer Sutherland's words remain forever immortalized through this flick. Santa Carla has more than its fair share of missing persons. Michael (Patric) soon discovers David's (Sutherland) gang is responsible for the killings/feedings. Will Michael choose to save his family or succumb to becoming a vampire after having swallowed David's blood, this, following an etherical initiation rite? An excellent Schumacher film.
- It's funny to watch this film again now... since I now live near Santa Cruz (i.e. Santa Carla)
Music's great and the film always makes me laugh at the dry humour... a must watch cult following for this one.

- The Lost Boys is a great horror flick from 1987. Featuring an all-star cast including Dianne Wiest, Jason Patrick, Corey Haim, Corey Feldman, Jami Gertz, and Kiefer Sutherland. I really enjoyed this film as a child, this movie is somewhat scary, it's considered a cult classic, buy this dark fantasy and see why. Enjoy!
